* 1978 at Goodison has to be my personal favourite. With it being seven years since the last time we beat them, this made it all the more sweeter. Sixteen years old, stood in the Street End with my butchers coat proudly adorned along with my 'I Hate Emlyn Hughes' and 'Bobby Latchford Walks On Water' tin badges, prominately displayed. This was dreamland stuff! Andy(is our)King lashing in over 'Big Nose Clemence' from 25 yards. It was time to party. The Shite even had a late goal disallowed by linesman Des Tweats who ran a paper shop round the corner from me. Needless to say, I continually thanked him until he recently died. 7 years since we beat the Shite and No.7 Andy King puts it to bed. Great days. Harvey Shearer. Poulton-le-Fylde. (31/01/07)

* My best derby day memory was the most recent derby when we beat the shite 3-0 in are own backyard. It was fantastic and a memory which I'll treasure forever!! To see their faces after the game was priceless!! Bring on the 3rd of Feb at analfield. Scott 17 from freshfield. (23/11/06)

* October 1984, Graeme Sharp - need I say more! I come from Bolton and so have never really experienced the build up for months to Derby Day like a lot of Liverpudlians. However I was in the RAF at the time and a Woollyback Shite supporter from St Helens had been giving me jip for weeks about how many they'd stick past us that day. Fuck it I thought - lets go to the match then I can watch that smug smile evaporate from his pasty face. Stopped at his house the night before and off to the game on Saturday. The atmosphere was fantastic, at the time it was really the start of a more friendly rivalry between the two teams which as much as we always look for the Shite result second on a Saturday, was a better time in my opinion. Certainly considering some of the hateful vitriol you sometimes now see on postings boards from both sides of Stanley Park. Anyway I digress.... I was up in the Gods right behind one of the goals. I'm not sure if Everton had that end or not but there were plenty of Blues around. I honestly can't remember anything about the game at all other than the goal. I have never seen a goal being celebrated so enthusiastically either before or since. We were right behind it and as soon as Sharpy had done Lawrenson like a (blue) kipper and had let fly, we could see that Coco the Clown was of his line and it was going in. When it hit the back of the net our section just erupted and I don't think we stopped till the end of the game. For atmosphere it was the best game I have ever been to and I would have paid money just to see my mates face when the ball went in. I lived near London at the time and saw a couple of Charity Shields and also managed to get a stewarding job at the '86 cup final (that's another story) but nothing came close to my one and only trip to Analfield in 1984. Come on you Blue men! Ian Holt. (08/09/06)

* With work being slow, I have read everything on your site in recent weeks. My favorite reading, however, are the stories of peoples first trips to see Everton. Now I feel like sharing my story of my first Derby. My name is David Barks. I have been raised in America, California to be exact, but have been brought up as an Evertonian. My mother moved here from Liverpool with her parents when she was a teenager and had me a few years later. I still remember running around in my Everton kit that my Grandparents bought for me when I was a small child. But getting back to the point, my first Derby was two years ago, yes, the Carsley goal that sent the stadium into a roar that I had never experienced before.

I had seen two games earlier that year, the win at Man. City and the home win against Boro. On my flight home, I was so enchanted by the experiences of traveling to Manchester with all the Blues, watching Cahill score the winner and us hold on with ten man that I had already made my mind up that I was coming back to watch us play the RS. For some reason I just knew we would win this one. When I got home I immediately went online and looked up ticket prices, as my Grandfather is a season ticket holder and he bought me my first two tickets I did not have any idea how much it would cost. I then saw the Hospitality packages. It was expensive, yes, but I had no choice, I had to buy two hospitality tickets for myself and my brother. Thank God for credit cards. Once I hit submit I couldn't believe it, I WAS GOING TO THE DERBY!!!

Each week couldn't pass quickly enough, until finally me and my brother were in Merseyside waiting for the game to begin. We showed up early in the big white tent as I called it for the open bar and brunch that came with our tickets. We were at a table with a group of people we had not met before, and I can't thank the people running the place enough for letting my Grandfather in to say hello to some of the legends he watched in the glory days. He was thrilled, as was I. To see so many former players there talking to the fans with such warmness and humility was great. Then it was time to walk to our seats. We had amazing seats, and luckily for us the section we sat in was just a few rows down from my Grandfather, making this one hell of a day and family affair. But we were sat next to two Reds. I couldn't believe it, Everton let them sit in our section. But they did pay the extra money for the hospitality package, so I was happy to take their money and let them watch their side go down.

The game was tense and sloppy at first, a typical Derby. A few hard tackles and a slip by Gerrard right in front of me while taking a free kick. A minute later he was back for a corner, I yelled "fall on your ass again you piece of shit Gerrard". He didn't like that too much, looked right at me and proceeded to take a terrible corner. My Grandfather had the biggest smile I have ever seen him have. Then came the goal. And the stadium just erupted. We were all screaming right at those two Shite supporters. Now I was very glad that they were allowed to sit there. There was nothing they could do or say, they just ducked. I couldn't believe it. My third game, my first Derby and I was going to see a victory over the Shite. As everyone knows we held on for the win, finished ahead of that other team across the park, and we are going to do it again this week. I can feel it, and if I had the money I would be back again. Unfortunately for me, I will be making that flight later in the season, but this Saturday, when Everton take the pitch I will still feel like I am there. I will shiver with excitement and anticipation, knowing that at the end of the game, Everton will be the pride of Merseyside. David Barks. (07/09/06)

* As my dad was in the army when i was a kid we were often posted in some pretty exotic places, Germany, Northern Ireland and such like which meant we never made it to Goodison till i was around 14 years old. Me and my younger brother grew up blue and always dreamed of watching the Toffees live. Our first ever day out to see Everton was a trip to Wembley where if memory serves me right we beat Coventry 1-0 in the charity shield. It was alas some years before we'd make another pilgrimage to see the mighty blues, and it would be under sadder circumstances. Remember the cup final? well final whistle blue (we were watching on the telly) my ole fella and i were absolutely gutted, then can you believe it my bro stands up with a f***ing smile on his face and claims he's always been a red!!! The C**T. I kicked the shit outta him on the carpet and my dad didn't speak to him for a week.

Anyway now i've set the tone. My first ever visit to Goodison was the 1993 derby, me my dad and Red Shite Brother Trooped up for a weekends festivities. We were sat in the paddock about 3 rows back. Ward and Cottee did the honours on the goal front i think (was Cottee's a sexy little nutmeg? sod it we won so who cares). my ole fella and i were absolutely over the moon. our kid dejected. oh happy days. Will Debeast. Cotswolds Blue. (05/09/06)

* October 1978 was fantastic when Andy King scored that great goal, he scored at Anafield later that season too in a 1-1 draw. For me though Dunc's header and Paul Rideout's last minute 2nd was a great memorable grave taking night, especially as Tommy'Shithouse' Smith had predicted a 5-0 to the redshite in the Echo earlier that day. Come on the Toffees we owe them big time on Saturday! James Mullarkey. (05/09/06)

* I fucking hate derby day, I have represented the county in the Royal Navy and seen some horrible things, but nothing compares to the run up to the derby. I have a ritual of having a skinful the night before to prevent being kept awake with the thought of having to watch the cheating red bastards the next day. So when the day comes have a good breakfast and make sure the shirt has been hung up for putting on just before kick off, whilst saying prayers to Dixie and the greats of yesteryear to guide the current lot through the game. A few pints before the game prior to being blessed with holy water if we have to enter analfield. If it is at Goodison then we are fine. The pre-match prayer is as follows:

Our Tater, whose heart is in midfield.
Hallowed is our name,
Thy three points will come,
Thy will be done,
Those kopites all from devon,
Gives us this day our Andy Johnson,
and forgive some bad passes,
as he scores three passed the forces of darkness,
and lead us to Europe but not into joint stadia,
For thine is the Goodison,
and the Beattie,
and the Tiny,
foreverton and everton
our Moyesy's Men.

My best I will always remember the Kanchelskis derby but my favourite is Carsley's, I saw him in North Wales a week after and said thanks to him and that he should be made Sir Lee.

Good Luck boys, I don't want you top beat them, I just want you to fucking batter them it is about time they had a good fucking hiding and realise who is boss! Graeme Stokes. (05/09/06)

* I'm gonna try and keep this positive after this year's two derbys. I have been to many a derby game in my 21 years as a BLUE, but the one I remember the most is the one we last won at ANALFIELD!! Being from the edge of St. Helens (the further away from town you get, the more 'red' it gets) I have had to deal with these bitter redshites all my life. I have never enjoyed myself however as much as I did that night when Super-Kev™ banged one in and Jeffers the pug-eared git cheered us all up with that 'brawl'. I kept posting up print-outs of that fight in my Sixth Form for weeks afterwards. That was the first time I have rubbed those bastard red-noses in it and I have had to wait til' Carsleys Derby™ til' I could do it again!!

Phil Dowd mustve got a new set of cards for his birthday and wanted to show them off last Sat, which he did in a major fashion. God how we missed Our Tater. Anyway BlueBoys you can put us back in Europe again next year x. Andy Fennell. (04/04/06)

* I was at Anfield with my Dad when we beat them 4-0. What a day - I remember Andy Rankin pulled off a blinder of a save from St John. I think that broke their hearts. There was a picture of it on the front page of the Echo. That will be hard to beat. Last season was great also (saw it on Foxtel). But I hope this Saturday is my favourite derby - My missus bought me an Everton match day jacket for my birthday, so I will be wearing that at (2:00am Sunday morning here) in front of the tele. Come on the blues!!! Laurie from OZ. (25/03/06)

Carsley Shoots

* I have been a season ticket holder for about nine years but had never seen us win the red shite at goodison, so the Carsley derby was amazing. I was sat in the park end with me dad and the atmosphere was incredible! When Carsley scored I nearly fell down the seats in front everyone was jumping so much. Get goosebumps thinking about the roar at the end and the singing..."never felt more like singin the blues, when Everton win and Liverpool lose!" Come on boys, shut those red tw'ts up on Saturday...(efc_till_i_die) Lizzie Brady. (25/03/06)

* Late 80's when we played the sh1te in the FA Cup, it was the 0-0 game at Analfield (the one before the 4-4, then the 1-0 love you Dave Watson... f##k off Midgeley). I was on the kop with my mate (a red) and all of the other farmyard animals..... the fat scumbag McMahon came clattering into John Ebbrell... McMahon being the uncoordinated obese piece of filth that he is f##ked it completely and came off far worse. Just as they were arranging the crane to carry the carthorse off I shouted... along with the other blues on the other side of the kop "f##k off McMahon!" only once as I realised I was surrounded by animals. After that I said to my mate that I'd meet him at Bankhall. I was off to stand with my own. When I got to our lot, some blue told me that I had spit all down the back of my jacket.... F##kin animals!! I was only 13... fair enough I should have tried to keep my mouth shut, but spittin is just sh1t... and it was McMahon. Mark Warren. (25/03/06)

* We started the season as we meant to go on bladdered. we went to Wembley in a transit van and everyone brought loads of ale we also had one token redshite fan with us and an old cassette player with only one song on it forever everton. The redshite fan was nicknamed rodderick cause he couldn't say his r's so he got plenty of the raggerd rascal ran round the rock treatment. We won the game 1-0 at Wembley then went the alehouse then back to the van. One lad was in charge of the cassette and he kept getting asked "excuse me mr dj have you got shit on you by everton" to which there was a reply of "i'll just have a look sonny" (while the tape was re-wound) then everyone would sing shit shit shit on you to rodderick. This happened all the way home from wembley and rodderick was that fucking chocka that he jumped out the back of the van while it was still going in old swan, the wascal, needless to say the 84-85 season held many more adventures and we beat the redshite three times that year as well with a great day out in the kop when Sharpy scored that goal. Chris Simpson. (24/03/06)

* I suppose the first time is always the sweetest - thanks to the scouser with a funny accent - Andy King. However the best was 21 Nov 1994 - the day my best mate, my son Ashley was born - also the day when everyone's true blue hero was 'born' - big Dunc, the day he became the legend he will always be. However, any day we beat the shite is a great day! Steve Williams. (25/03/06)

* I remember 1985 was in the paddock when Paul Wilkinson scored and we done the double over the shite first time in yonks. Howard was playing some of the fringe players to ensure they got a championship medal as it was one of the last games of the season, they were all over us but couldnt score. I think we won 1-0. Happy Days! Andy King ( No not that Andy King) But I remember that day as well was on the school playing field listening to the game on the radio when he scored. We tried to role play how it happened. Andy. (24/03/06)

* My favourite derby moment would have to be the one last season where lee carsley banged it in in the 68th minute. great work from osman on the right then to bent, he lays it off to carsley who bangs it rite in the gwladys street end. MAGIC!!. I can never remember going so ape shit in all my life. The roof blew off the stadium and the chants of "kopites u gobshites", and "who are ya, who are ya" rang round Goodison. Carsley makes the hall of fame for that game alone. Jeff Farrell (25/03/06)

* The first time I saw us beat the rednecks was 28th October 1978 when Andy King scored the winner at Goodison. I remember the reaction from some of my mates, who were Reds, and the fact that they just couldn't take it. There was the great interview by Richard Duckenfield when Andy King was ushered off the pitch by a copper.
One of the funniest was when Imre Varadi scored the winner in the 1981 FA Cup tie. He famously stated that he ran towards the Enclosure to celebrate and he soon realised that it was full of rednecks, as a meat pie hit him in the face. Graeme Sharp scored the best goal that I have ever seen in October 1984 and the sight of the fella running out of the Anny Road End with the programme in his pocket was superb. Let's hope The Blue Boys do the business on Saturday. Chris Jones. Season Ticket Holder - Upper Bullens B159, (25/03/06)

Carsley Scores

* Mine was a classic. Me and a mate (of the *** ***** variety) always used to do a bet on the footie each Saturday, anyway up comes the Derby at analfield (the 2-1 Kanchelskis one) so I say lets do a bet on the outcome. I fancied us 2-1 he agrees and toddles off to the bookies and then the match, of course we win and at 17 to 1 ale's going to taste even better, so later on the mate calls, not a bad days work I say trying not to laugh, He then reveals that he hasn't put the bet on! Some crap about not betting on his team, so me being very understanding says don't worry, it's just one of those things, to which he replies very good of me, so I go on, all you have to do is pay me my half (£17) and all is well! of course he had to pay up which given we won the Derby, I won £17 he lost £34 altogether can only be described as PURE MAGIC. Best Wishes (keep up the good work). Bill Thomas. (25/03/06)

* First Derby. Lee Carsley getting the winner fantastic, believing we would be going back into Europe. Then after the match stood outside the spellow when some lad went past in the car singing "if you know your history" when he got to the "we don't car what the red shite say" my uncle jumped in with "It's good to see the vicars got a new job." Priceless moment that I'll never forget. Chris, widnes. (25/03/06)

* I remember hanging on the railings in the kop with a load of the red shite around me, when Ratters scored from the halfway line. It was tremendous. Then Lineker scored... What a day!! The funniest part was it was my Birthday and I had my new EFC tracky on. Some red shite pissed down my leg at half time. The front of the Kop always was a toilet. And who was that woman with the shopping trolley???? Adam R (23/03/06)

* I wasn't at the 4-4 game. (I went to the 0-0 at analfield instead). Sky sports had not long been out and we had it so masses of shite hangers on decided to converge at mine and they were all singing and dancing at 4-3 up, but the look on there faces when we equalised again and me setting off on a 1 man conga round our estate was magic. Then we won the 2nd replay which made it even better. Another win on Saturday please. Great site lads. Jason (Preston). (23/03/06

* My best Derby was the 2-0 Duncan Derby. A a five hour drive from Southampton, £40 for a ticket off a tout, but £5 on 2-0 @ 16-1. Happy days, made the drive home so much sweeter and faster!! Now back home no 5 hour drives to home games!!! The Carsley derby sticks in my mind as I was in the Main Stand surrounded by cockney kopites. Oh their faces when the whistle went. They all looked they were gonna cry. Twats! Mart. (23/03/06)

* My first derby was at Goodison. It was back in the late 80's. I can't remember the date but the score was 3-2 to the shite. It was cold, raining, blustery. Me & my nephew Joey "the lips" Johnston were waiting on his dad to pick us up from Kirkdale station. His dad big rigg was working in liverpool and lived in digs outside of analfield. Who was living there as well? Only carlisle's red shite steven harkness (where is he theses days?). So we got the tickets off him. Back to the match. I can just see stevie nicol hitting the underside of the bar and scoring I was in the Gwladys behind the goals. What a first Derby to go to. My next was a lot happier as we beat them 2-0. The gonk grobberlar was in goals so he and mccmanan were fighting each other. Driving home through liverpool it was all blue not one bit of red to be seen. Thanks. Bob Morris. Carlisle. (23/03/06)

* My favorite derby was my 1st ever Derby at Analfield. It was in 1999 my dad a bitter kopite took me. I sat in the kop and when super kev scored I have never danced so much. It was the happiest day of my life and I rubbed my dads face in it all year. K.G. (23/03/06)

* There are four moments that I can't choose between. Kanchelskis, an ex Man Utd player, scoring his first goals for Everton at the Kop End. Big Kev netting after 4 mins and Everton holding on it that way that the kopites just hate us for being able to do, plus Gerrard getting sent off!! Haha! Big Dunc's first Everton goal being a towering header in Joe Royles' first game.... And finally, Danny Cad waltzing around the kopites defence and firing home the winner!! I just love it! You can't beat a derby win... Come on Beatts make yourself a legend! Gareth Lucy. (23/03/06)

* Reid, to Stevens, forward to Sharp, he got behind Lawrenson did Sharp, oh what a fantastic goal. . . . 'oh happy days are here again'. . . duncans boots. (22/03/06)

* King Nets and Blues Rule Again - headlines from the Echo 28th Oct 1978. What else but Andy King? Was let down for a ticket at the last moment so stood outside the Street End with my Dad listening to the radio. The other memory was the Varadi goal and the 2-1 win in the cup in 1981. It was the first time I'd actually seen a derby win. What a feeling! Yosser. (22/03/06)

* I will never forget the return at our old ground, some call it Anfield in 1970, after a 3-0 reverse at Goodison, poor Sandy Brown, god bless him, Bobby Graham and Emlyn Hughes scored the other two. (By the way Emlyn, that was a foul on John Hurst at the Park End). Joe, Joe Royle and Alan Whittle either side of half time, then we went onto to win the league, memories are made of this!!! My father, god rest his soul, a proud evertonian from birth lived for days like that. This why we love you blues, through thick and thin, good luck on saturday. Our history is our heritage!!! St Pat 55. (22/03/06)

* My fave derby moment is Sharpy's goal at Anfield and yes that was my dad running on the pitch to celebrate with the specs and the anorak!! Lisa (21/08/06)

* Best derby ever was when Danny Cadamateri run rings round the shite then slotted home the winner. I was sitting on a row full of kopites in the Gwladys, fukin brilliant! PKKILBO. (21/03/06)

* There's a couple, but the ones that really stick out in the mind are Joe Royle's 1st game in charge. I'd got a ticket off my uncle but didn't know anyone around me. When we scored I just ran up and down the Park End for about 20 minutes! The only one to top that was Danny Cad's derby when fat @rse Ruddock scored an oggy and Danny tore the back out of Kvarme. The best thing about that game though was at the end when some clever b@stard who worked the tannoy played the theme tune to "Tales of the Unexpected"! Absolutely fu(king superb! Me and my arl fella, along with thousands of other Evertonians dancing on our seats! Great site lads. Andy King. (21/03/06)

* My best derby memory was when I sat in the shite end the kop in 1999 when super kev scored are winner in the fourth minute and me and about 100 evertonians were going mad in kop. kopites r gobshite 2005. Maca. (21/03/06)

* My best derby moment was last december I was fourteen and it was my third one at Goodison but they hadn't won yet. It was a week after my uncle's birthday and he supports the red shite so my dad bought him a ticket for the game. All the way there he was saying the shite's gonna win. So I put a bet on with him that if Everton won I got a hundred quid. So we shook on it. So after the game I had more than just Everton celebrating. I had 100 smackers in my back pocket. Great site. Ryan Newens, Grimsby and cleethorpes supporters club. (21/03/06)

* Late teens, my first ever derby, sitting in the Upper Gwladys. Who to score the winner? Big Dunc? super Kev? Grav? Leon? Tiny Tim? NO WAY! None other than...LEE CARSLEY!! I thought the rotting wooden flooring was going to collapse into the Lower Gwladys the way we were jumping! Even though I was stuck behind a damn pillar...I wouldn't change a thing!!! Rhys Hicks, S Wales. (21/03/06)

* I've never actually been to a derby, but the 1-0 at Goodison last season was fuckin' excellent. I got up at 3 or so in the morning with me dad (I am temporarily exiled half way across the world at the moment) and watched the match. when Carsley scored I went apeshit and I
would've given anything to be there, cos even on telly the roar of the Goodison faithful was deafening. Keep up the great work. BIGDUNC10. (21/03/06)

* I am 16 and I live in Dubai so I don't get to come to matches until the summer friendlies. But from watching tv, the best derby moment for me was the 1-0 win over the shite at Goodison last season. Where I watched it, the Shite fans outnumbered us so when Carsley scored, I truly RUBBED it in. Omar, Dubai, UAE. (21/03/06)

* My derby moment is last season's one. It was my 6th derby game, 5th at Goodison and I'd never seen us beat them. When super cars scored I went berserk just like everyone else did. Never felt so much relief at the final whistle. The park end was rocking, and I bet I was one of the last to leave the ground, great day. Same Saturday please please please. GRANT FERGUSON. (21/03/06)

* I've been a season ticket holder in GWLADYS street now for about 4 years and the last Derby was my 1st win. When Carsley kicked the ball and it landed in the back of the net, I just cried & I'm not messing (I CRIED). The Derby before that when the SHITE won, I got over 50 texts and calls off all the SHITE'S I know but this time, I got nothing and you know the best thing was, I didn't text or call them and that PISSED them all right off. Lucy Lyons. (18/03/05)

* Andy King. 'nuff said. Richard Stirling. (18/03/05)

* THE BEST TIME OF MY LIFE WAS THE LATEST DERBY AT GOODISON, THE ATMOUSPHERE WAS SPECIAL AND YOU JUST KNEW THE BLUES WOULD WIN, WHEN CARSLEY SCORED THE ROOF WAS RAISED OFF GOODISON AND THE FANS HAD SOMETHING TO CHEER ABOUT AT LAST, GREAT WEBSITE. S. ROBERTS. (18/03/05)

* My best derby moment without a doubt was the 99 win at analfield, I watched it in a tiny bar on the island of Rhodes in a village called Lindos. I was with my sister and mother plus a few friends all huddled round this small tv. We made a small part of Greece blue that night and winning that night was one of my most memorable nights ever, and dancing on a table at 5am in my Everton shirt to eiffel 55s tune I'm blue made it a night of legend! more of the same please blue boys! max t on the wirral. (18/03/05)

* Surrounded by Kopites in the Main Stand at Anfield, celebrating Super Kev's goal after 5 mins. Then spending the remaining 85 mins hoping they didn't equalise. They didn't. What a night! More of the same on Sunday please! From Stu in Sydney. (18/03/05)

* The one derby memory I have is when we beat them 2-1 in the 92-93 season. After going a goal down, Mo Jonno and Beardsley scored in quick succession. It was the first time in my life I couldn't wait to go into school the next day. It made it all the sweeter with Beardsley having signed from them only the previous year. The Macallister derby was the sickest moment I have ever experienced in football. Gazza (London) (18/03/05)

* The 4-4 cup game...........Has always left me speechless............One of my best days ever at the game.........and then Waggy with the winner in the return leg back at Goodison. Happy Days. COYB. Neil Rooney (NR1981) (18/03/05)

* My favourite derby has got to be the 2-1 win at Anfield in with Kanchelskis netting both goals at the Kop End!!! (I remember seeing Limpar and Kanchelskis on the team sheet and thinking that this was a team that could win silverware. Oops). Joseph Wightman. (18/03/05)

* Andy King scoring THAT goal, first derby victory of my life, aged 9, (we might of beat them in 70 but I didn't start going the game til I was 2), walked into school seven feet tall. The noise when we scored was unbelievable, me mam said she heard it from tuebrook!!. Getting lashed miles into the air by me old fella as the crowd roared, and not landing for ages. Remember Andy at the end (the copper and that)ha ha, what a superb day for the Blues. Also being in the kop when Sharpy took the piss from 35 yards! Glorious day for all bluenoses, though I was on way back from bog and trying to battle through redshites flying fists to get back to the safety of my fellow blues - we had loads in the kop that day as usual, bit of murder at the end as well - but we're the bitter ones remember..NIL SATIS AND THAT. S. Phillips. (18/03/05)

* 2 of my best derby moments are the 1 nil win this season at Goodison. I was in the Park end. The atmosphere was fantastic and just thinking about it now makes the hairs stand up on me neck. When Carsley scored the kopites didn't sing after that. Another derby that stands out is the 2 nil win in 96. Joe Royle's 1st game in charge. Big Dunc and Paul Rideout I think. Great days. COYB. Great site by the way. McCarthy. (16/03/05)

* Best derby match - at Anfield (the date escapes me) but it at a time when allegations of drug use were made against the blues. Johnny Morrissey had started playing for the blues. A gobshite ran onto the pitch with a cardboard "purple heart" and the kop were chanting "purple hearts" Did the toffees lie down? No they kicked the shit out of them to the tune of 4 nil. As I also recall Morrissey scored (twice?). You could hear a pin drop at the end. Happy days. Curbishley. (13/03/05)

* 85 goodison derby when Wilkinson scored at the st end.and that ugly t*&^t john wark missed a pen at the park end ,he hit it that hard it nearly landed in Stanley park .class, come on you bluuuuuuuues. Mike H. Wallasey. (13/03/05)

* The one derby moment that sticks out is Big dunc's left foot curler into the Gwladys with his back to goal and turning mark wright brilliantly, in 96 i think. The game ended a draw but i remember the atmosphere when he scored being absolute hysteria as we'd had to take a load of shite off the kopites. Chris McHale (13/03/05)

* It's got to be my first wining derby when Carsley scored. It's the most resent derby. I'd been to the last two goodison derby's and seen us lose, but not this time. Sitting in the park end three rows back right behind the goal and going nuts when Carsley scored and crying with my dad at the end, hugging the guy next to me not even knowing who he was. Aaarh those are the days, seeing the kopites devastated and singing till my throat hurt and still singing. I'm 14 years old and that's the best moment of my life. Gives me butterfly's. Once an Evertonianalways an Evertonian. Thanx. Josh Caren. (13/03/05)

Carsley Is On The Bottom

* Just for the pleasure of winding them up, it has to be wayne clarke's goal and the chant of "you can stick your f***in' record up your arse" as we ended their unbeaten run one game short of leeds' record.
but the one that sticks with me is the 4-4. I was in the Gwladys st when they got their 3rd and almost left. Ii was sitting on the exit stairs for five mins trying to sort my head out but returned to see us equalise (again) then when they scored their 4th I actually left (they had opened the gates by then) and was half down Gwladys street when I came to my senses and returned once more, just in the nick of time! 4 each, hysteria followed. We went on to win the 2nd replay but watson's goal was an anti-climax after that night.
my favourite has to be sheedy scoring a blinder at the kop end and following up with a two fingered V sign to the kop. PRICELESS.
I hated Wembley '86 and '89 and also Barlow winding me up to bursting point when rosenthal scored at anfield. Stephen Brett. (13/03/05)
