Everton Players International Round Up - 2003/2004

Round Up

All three of Everton's representatives were undefeated in last night's World Cup Qualifiers. Nace was involved as the Jocks drew one each against Moldova, who picked up their first point against the hapless Scots.

Tommy Grav played the full ninety against World Cup Semi Finalist's Turkey, as the Danes drew also one each. The Danes played an hour of the game with ten men after Unsey's mate Jesper Gronkjear was sent for an early bath. Tommy's should be fresh then for Saturday, after running around like a loony for an hour then hey.

Superstar of the trio, Killa Kilbane, played his part as the Irish turned over The Faroe Islands two nil, to go top of their group, which also includes The French. (14/10/04)

International Stars

Everton should have three of their first team squad in action in tonight's World Cup Qualifiers. Nace, for the Jocks will be facing Moldova, with Jimmy Mac sitting his ban out on the sidelines. Tommy Grav will be winning his 51st cap against Turkey, and Saturday's man of the match in the Paris, Killa Kilbane will be lining up for the Republic in Dublin. The Faroe Islands will be Killa's opposition, as they try and build on their admirable draw against the French, at the weekend. Come home safely boys, it's Southampton on Saturday. (13/10/04)

World Cup Weekend

Tommy Gravesen looks like winning another cap for Denmark, when he plays against Albania. Killa should line up for the Irish Republic against France, while the two left footers from Scotland should be in the starting line up against Norway. (08/10/04)

Happy Jocks

First team coach and fellow Scot, Alan Irvine is delighted for Nace and Jimmy Mac, to be involved in some action this weekend. It has been frustrating times for the two Scottish Internationals, with Moyesy reluctance to change a winning side. Seen as we are winning more than we are losing this season, its great news for us, but tough shite on the squad players who can't get a look in.

Alan says: "I'm pleased for the pair of them that the international break has come when it has. Everyone can see how difficult things have been for Faddy recently. Gary is slightly different in that he has been involved more this season, but he has had to sit things out recently as well. But I would expect them both to play for Scotland which is great for them, because both are desperate to play." (07/10/04)

Blues Included In Squad

Everton duo, Gary Naysmith, and Jimmy Mac, have both been included in Berti Mc Vogts squad for their forthcoming World Cup Qualifiers.

The Jocks face Norway at Hampden on Saturday, then travel to Moldova the following Wednesday, as they try to qualify for Germany in 2006. (04/10/04)

Killa In Squad

As expected Zinedine will be representing The Republic of Ireland in their forthcoming World Cup Qualifiers against France and The Faroe Islands.

The game in Paris will be of great significance for French International Zinedine Zidane, as it will be one of the first times that the French footballer has had a chance to be on the same field as his great Irish namesake, and the person his parents named him after. Bluekipper.com tried to contact the French midfielder, but he was to emotional to talk, with the prospect looming of facing one of the all time greats. (30/09/04)

Tim In Squad

The Aussie's twenty man strong squad for next weeks Confederation Cup Tie against The Soloman Islands, includes our very own, man of the moment Tim Cahill. Tim will be flying out after this weekends crushing of Spurs to join up with his team mates. There is however no place for Eddy Bosnar in Frank Farina's squad. Stay here Eddy its warmer than the Soloman Islands any way.

Aussie Boss Frank Farina says: "I have selected the best possible side for the matches. It is vitally important that we qualify for the Confederations Cup ahead of next year's World Cup qualifiers." (29/09/04)

I Come From A Land Down Under....

Everton's Aussie duo, Tim Cahill and Eddy Bosnar have both been called up to the Aussie squad for next months Confederations Cup Match against The Solomon Isles. The Confederations Cup I hear you ask, what's that all about. Timbo and Eddy are apparently not happy flying out to the paradise Isle, and whilst out shopping for factor three, more film for their camera, and a new disco rig out, told us so.

The games take place whilst the Premiership shuts down for our World Cup Qualifiers, and I am sure the 50 odd hour return flight will do them both good.

Aussie Boss Frank Farina says: "It's a completely full strength squad, these are hugely important matches for us." (14/09/04)

Draws For Our Boys

Our 3 lads were involved in draws last night. Killa and the Irish lads will be happy with the 1-1 draw in Switzerland. But Nays and Faddy will be a bit dissapointed with the nil nil against Slovenia at Hampden Park.

Faddy says:"We thought we were going to win it and we definitely should have won it. We created some good chances, ripped them apart in the first half and just didn't put the ball in the net.

James McFfadden

Killa Stars in Win

Killa Kilbane starred in the Republics 3-0 win over the minnows of Cyprus in Dublin yesterday. Killa was unlucky not to score in the first half when the Cypriot keeper turned the superstars shot round the post. Killa was smuggled out of the back door of the ground, as thousands upon thousands of his fellow country men tried to get close to the Irish megastar.

Killa and his team mates now fly out to Switzerland, for Wednesday's crunch. The Swiss police are receiving special training from our very own SAS, on how to deal with Killa's Swiss fan base. (05/09/04)

In The Dark

Jimmy Mac's trip to Spain ended up finishing early last night, when the Ref called a halt to proceedings in the second half, due to a floodlight failure, caused by a torrential downpour. Faddy however was upbeat, that his Scot team mates were holding the Spanish to a draw at the time.

Faddy says: "We're pleased with the result. We worked hard and put in a lot of effort. The manager told us he hated facing Scotland as a player and we wanted to see some of that old spirit. It gets the fitness levels up for the Slovenia match and we can take confidence from this performance." (04/09/04)

Hard Work Begins Here

Everton's flying winger is hoping that the Republic's World Cup Qualifying Campaign gets off to a good start at home to Cyprus tomorrow. Killa may be asked to play in the unaccustomed role of centre mid, as his International team mate, and full time psychopath Roy Keane will be missing through injury.

Killa is currently being guarded around the clock, as fanatical fans from as far away as Kilkenny, County Mayo and Galway try to get a piece of the Everton superstar.

Zinedine says: "This is where the work begins. You are judged on what you do in the qualifiers. We started badly in the last qualifying campaign when Russia and Switzerland took points off us at home, so ultimately that's where we lost out. This group is going to be tough, but we feel that we can beat any team at Lansdowne Road. We have to be strong at home and dogged and tough away if we are to make Germany. Although we beat Cyprus convincingly on both occasions during the last World Cup qualifiers, they still gave us a tough time and we have to make sure we don't slip up tomorrow." (03/09/04)

Round Up

All of the Everton players involved in mid-week International played full games. Faddy and Nace played for Scotland in the 3-0 defeat by Hungary. Scotland are shite at the moment. It must be a trend to not play in your home colors, last night they played in an yellow strip. Any explanations?

Killa was impressive in the middle of the park for Ireland in the 1-1draw against Bulgaria and Tommy Grav played a starring role in Denmark's 5-1 win over Poland. (19/08/04)

Faddy in the Yellow Scotland shirt

Unbelieveable

Even though Faddy was taken off injured on Sunday, he is expected to play for Scotland for the friendly against Hungary on Wednesday night. Kenny Miller has heaped praise on Faddy and even though there is plenty of competition for place he expects Faddy to be number one choice.

Miller says: "McFadden has been unbelievable in the last couple of games and he's made a lot of goals at this level so he'll be in automatically so I'll just work away at training and hopefully I'll get the nod to play alongside him.(17/08/04)

Faddy For Scotland

Winner

Joey headed the winner for Nigeria against Algeria in the Group Four of the 2006 World Cup qualifying campaign. The goal came with just five minutes left in the match. Well done Joey.

The win puts Nigeria on top of the group with 6 points from three games. Nigeria have beaten Rwanda 2-0 and lost to Angola 1-0 in the other two games.(03/07/04)

The Rad Watch - San Jose v Canada - Tommy Scores

I went to watch Radzinski play for Canada in San Jose, wrote a short match report / commentary on what its like to watch 'soccer' in the US that I thought might be interesting, especially to anyone who's going to see the games in Houston. I love bluekipper.com by the way.

Star Man Call Up

Blue Kipper Star Man Of The Season has been called up to the Nigerian squad for the World Cup qualifier against Angola on June 20. Only the top team will qualify for the finals. The other nations are Algeria, Zimbabwe and Gabon

Joey says: "The game against Angola is a very important game for us. The level of African football is getting higher and higher because there is more competion now and even the smaller nations want to go to the World Cup because they realise what they are missing" (09/06/04)

Joey At The Blue Kipper Do

Don't Change

England skipper David Beckham has urged The Duke not to curb his temper ahead of England's challenge to win Euro 2004. Sexy Becks believes it is in his nature to be aggressive, and that is what makes him the player he is today. Becks who had his own troubles at the start of his International career, reckons The Duke will be a hit at this Summers Tournament.

Rooney though was unavailable for comment as he was working out on a punch bag, then he had his ju jitsu lesson.

Sexy Becks says: "You have to remember that Wayne is 18-years-old and every now and again you will see aggression and passion and that's what people like about Wayne. He's not just a talent, he's very passionate. Obviously it needs to be controlled and I'm lucky enough that I've done that now, but there's no problem with Wayne as far as I'm concerned." (04/06/04)

Don't Calm Down, Calm Down

Quiet One For The Duke

The Duke had one of his quieter England's games, as their build up to Portugal, suffered a set back with a 1-1 draw against the might of Japan, in Manchester last night.

Rooney only offered rare glimpses of his undoubted talent, and seems to need a couple more games under his belt before the tournament begins for England on Sunday week. Just before the half Wayne showed terrific strength to beat off two Japanese defenders, to place an inch perfect pass to his old mucker Becks to run onto. The Madrid player duly fucked up. He linked up well with striking partner Owe......, Ow......., O......, cant say the shit 'eds name, you know who I mean. Anyway a smart reverse pass by our wonderkid into the path of his striking partner, allowed him to unleash a shot, that was saved well by the Japanese keeper.

In the seventy sixth minute The Duke gave way to Darius Vassell, who came on with Emily in a double substition by sexy Sven replacing his two front men. (02/06/04)

Back Us

Faddy had a few things to say after starring in Scotland's 4-1 over Trinidad & Tobago and most of his comments were aimed at Super Stud Champagne Charlie Nicholas or SSCCN for short.

Faddy says: "We have got the result and I hope we have shut a few people up. It's important to get everybody behind the team because you need the backing of the fans and everyone who is Scottish. There are lot of people who have slated us including Charlie Nicholas."

"Every single game he has been caning us but I don't think he can say very much today. We were excellent and deserved to win.Sometimes you need criticism but not every single game and not as blatant as that."

"The people and players of Scotland want to do well and I would like to think the fans want the players to do well. This is the squad we have and we have to get on with it and we need all the support we can get. We don't need to get slaughtered every game and hopefully that's rammed the criticism down a few people's throats." (01/06/04)

Faddy has his say

Standing Ovation

Jimmy Mac had another starring role in Scotland's emphatic 4-1 over Trinidad on Sunday. Jimmy never found the scoresheet, but he did set up Darren Fletchers opener with some impressive skill, back heeling the ball into the United's player's path. Faddy went close himself in the first half, when his shot was deflected wide, but Berti Vogts substituted the youngster, in the second period, were the Scottish crowd, gave him a standing ovation from the pitch.(31/05/04)

Impressive Display

Wales Win

The Rad's Canadian side went down 1-0, to Wales at Wrexhams Racecourse Ground yesterday. Wales who surprisingly had a virtual full strength side out, proved to much for Canada in front of over 10,000 spectators. The Rad who had only one chance in the game, was substituted halfway through the second half. (31/05/04)

Substitued

Jimmy's Stunner

Scotland recorded a fine away win in Estonia, thanks to stunning seventy fifth minute winner by our own Jimmy Mac. Jimmy beat three men, and then curled an absolute beauty into the top corner of the net, to send the tartan army into raptures, well six of them anyway. Minutes after his wonder strike, he was denied a second, when another fine run and shot was saved superbly by the Estonian keeper.

Faddy was quick to praise Scottish manager Berti Vogts, who has stuck with him, even though he hasn't commanded a first team place at Goodison. On this form Jimmy, it won't be long, and maybe, you and The Duke will be the dream ticket. Fuck me I can see it now. Ohhh, let me dream will you !!!!!!!!!!!!

Faddy says: "The manager has shown a lot of confidence in me because I have still been in the squad when I have not been playing at club level. It has been like that since day one with the manager and I would like to think I am starting to repay his confidence. And if I can get my performance to a higher level, I can repay him a bit more." (28/05/04)

Jimmy Celebrates His Winner Against Estonia

1. The Duke is in Sardinia for a training camp, ready for games against Japan and Iceland at the City of Manchester Stadium.

2. Faddy is in the Scotland side for the friendlies with Estonia and Trindad and Tobago.

3. The Rad plays for Canada v Wales next Sunday, kick-off: 2.30 pm. at Wrexham’s Racecourse Ground. (25/05/04)

Faddy got a full 90 minutes under his belt in 1-0 defeat by Denmark. He had 2 great chance to score but was denied by Villa keeper Thomas Sorenson on both occasions.

Toby played the first 73 minutes for Sweeden in the 2-2 draw against Portugal.(29/04/04)

As expected Jimmy Mac has been called up to the Scotland squad to face Tommy Grav's Denmark in Copenhagen next week. Nace though will be missing, as he has an arrangement with Berti Vogts to miss out on the Scottish games as not to aggravate his hernia, before his Summer op.

Kevin Kilbane is as expected in the Irish squad to face Poland, in Poland next week. (20/04/04)

Jimmy to Face Grav

Faddy Scores

A mixed night for our Everton Internationals. The Duke won his 11th cap for England in a 1-0 defeat by Sweden, hitting the post in the first half. Toby came on as a second half sub in the same game. Jamie Mc scored scotland's only goal in a 2-1 defeat by Rumania. Killa played his part in a great 2-1 win against the Czech Republic. Tommy Grav played in a 2-0 defeat against Spain. (01/04/04)

11th Cap @ 18

Turner Called Up

Congratulations go to Everton's young keeper Iain Turner, who has been called up to the Scottish Under 21 squad, by German legend Rainer Bonhof. Turner who has been on loan at Chester for a few months now, has impressed the German/Scottish coach, who has called him up to face Romania in a friendly next week.

Usual suspects Gary Naysmith, and Jimmy Mac, have been called up for the big boys, whilst over in the Emerald Isle, Harry Hill and Zinedine Kilbane have been selected in their squad to face the Czech Republic in Dublin next week. (23/03/04)

Scottish Call Up

Midweek Round Up

A host of Everton stars were in action for their respective countries last night, as countries geared up for this Summers Euro Championships. Tommy Grav was the only Everton player to be involved in a victory, as Denmark turned over Turkey 1-0 in Istanbul. His midfield partner at Goodison Tobias Linderoth, and his Swedish team mates were humbled by mighty Albania 2-1, in Tirana. Also on the end of a humiliating defeat was Scottish pair Nace and Faddy as they were crushed 4-0 by a rampant Welsh side in Cardiff, were unfortunately for them Moyesy was on hand to see their displays. Nuff said. Zinedine Kilbane played an important role in the result of the night as Ireland held the World Champs Brazil to a goalless draw in Dublin, but the game was marred by some unbelievable antics from Ronaldo and co., at the end. The Duke was substituted half way through the first half, as England managed a draw at Host Nation Portugal in Faro. Thankfully all players have returned to Bellefield none the worst for their midweek endevours. (19/02/04)
