World Exclusive - Beatle Macca To Buy into Everton with £100m
In one of the biggest upheavals in Everton's History, former Beatle, Paul McCartney is to plough £100 million into Everton. The cash will be made available to pay off some debt, rebuild the wooden Bullens road stand, providing 50 executive boxes, and leave enough for David Moyes to buy some much needed players. Blue Kipper can exclusively reveal that Macca, an Evertonian all his life has finally agreed to buy the majority of Paul Gregg's shares. Gregg, who has become disillusioned at the Everton boards inability to attract investment into the club, turned to his friend McCartney for help a couple of months ago. At the time, the multi billionaire said he wasn't interested. But after talking to his cousin, Ernie, himself an Everton season ticket holder, Macca decided to take the plunge. The deal is not likely to be finalised until the end of the season. But Moyesy can now look forward to having close to £30 million to spend on players in the close season. (01/04/04) Paul McCartney says: "Let it be" * Is this true? Bobby Latchford. * Boys, you've gotta be better than this, how about this one. "A gang of mates, Evertonians all their lives, have got together to organize fellow fans through a website. The website known as BLUEKIPPER has become so successful, that the team have now spread their operation to open a meeting point for football fans". Now no one would believe that!! Peter Rigby. * Maybe we can buy that young Dean fellow from Tranmere Rovers. He may score 60 goals in a season. Daveboyblue1. * I think it's April 1! Even I'm not soft enough to believe that Paul "mickey mouse fan" McCartney would buy into Everton. If we are the club he loves so much like he bangs on about then he should buy in, we can dream though cant we! Good try lads! Graeme. * About the Beatle buying the club I did not fall for it. Last year the one about the stadium was good. cheers Stu from East Yorkshire. *

Australia. * Does Moyesy get the money now or does he have to wait until the end of the season? Tony Blue. * Just a bit too far fetched fellas, we'd have to become a registered charity to get hold of any of Macca's wedge! Some would say that's the next feasible step! Good try tho! Regards, Yozza. *
