Toughie !! I made my Goodison debut in 1972 and so I saw Rod Belfitt,
Tiger McLaughlin and Terry Darracott in their prime, and Jim Pearson.
Quite liked Mick Buckley though. On this experience alone I find it hard
to argue with Southall Hibbo Ratcliffe Mountfield M.Ball Steven Reid A.Ball Sheedy Dean
Lineker Just look at the pace at the back ! And Mountfield's goal scoring exploits, a centre mid no-one could live with, the two best wide mids ever and the power and pace up front !! The bench would be worth about a billion ( to Chelsea anyway ). And if Lawton's on the bench, it must be the best side ever! Chris Tucker. (09/02/05) 59. How about this? Martyn Move over Arsenal!!! Moylee. (09/02/05) 58.
Being the tender age of 21, I am sadly not old enough to remember the
glorious 80's. I'm a 90's blue, and as 1. Southall (Superb, depsite his age) 2. Yobo 4. Watson, D 3. Hinchcliffe 6. Kanchelskis 5. Horne 7. Parkinson. 8. Ebbrell 11. Anders Limpar 9. Ferguson 10. Rooney *spit*
57. Southall
Gary Stevens, Kevin Ratcliffe, Dave Watson, Andy Hinchcliffe
Andrei Kanchelskis, Peter Reid, Thomas Gravesen, Anders Limpar
Peter Beardsley, Gary Lineker
Subs: Nigel Martyn, Graeme Sharp, Tony Cottee, Derek Mountfield, Paul Bracewell
I have been supporting Everton ever since 1984… this has to be our best team of the modern era… Kanchelskis was different class in his first season at Goodison, and Limpar was one of the best wingers we had.. I remember when we beat Liverpool away 95-96 and Kanchelskis and Limpar tore them to shreds. Beardsley was brilliant.. a true world class player and never let us down, the back four has everything!! This team would win the Premiership hands down. The bench is immensely strong!! S Austin. (09/02/05) 56. What a top bollocks team this would be, I thought I would keep the same formation that is serving us so well at the moment. SOUTHALL STEVENS RADCLIFFE(C) WATSON VAN DEN HAUWE REID STEVEN HARVEY BRACEWELL SHEEDY SHARP SUBS : MOUNTFIELD, BALL, GRAVESON, ROYLE, BEARDSLEY
55. Southall, subs: Martyn, Mountfield, Power. Too many
more who could have easily been on here, from the late 60's and 80's,
I reckon we could have 3 best teams that would have been awesome. C O
Y B. 54. Here's my best 11, not old enough to watch half of them play only being 23, but what I've saw on video and the story's I've been told they have to go in. southall keep up the good work lads. Northy, Huyton. (04/02/05) 53. Having been a supporter since I was a wee nipper – best XI Hinchcliffe gets the nod at left back because I think he would have linked well with Sheeds and he could also deliver a wicked corner – I can’t see a weakness in this side.
Southall
Stevens Yobo Ratcliffe Hinchcliffe
Steven Bracewell Reid Sheedy
Sharp Lineker
Subs: Martyn, Gray, Watson, Kanchelskis, Speed
Andy Cummins. (04/02/05) 52. Been exiled in OZ for a long time and can’t really relate to a lot of the modern crop of players but this team would just have to kick anyone’s arse in this day and age. Strange how Rooney doesn’t get a mention in a lot of teams yet could have been the greatest of them all, but when it comes to pick 11, the twat just doesn’t figure:
Southall Tommy Wright, Labone, Ratcliffe, Ray Wilson Ball, Tony Kay, Kendall, Sheedy
Latchford, Lineker Peter Sullivan. (04/02/05) 51.
Goal: Neville Southall That
team would beat anyone in the world, no danger. 50. As a loyal blue since 1977, I will keep my selections from that era to the present day with the utmost respect to Dixie, Alex Young, Kendall, Ball, Harvey, Labone and countless other legends from a bygone era. Southall Gary Stevens Kevin Ratcliffe Mick Lyons Van den Hauwe
Trevor Steven Paul Bracewell Alan Ball(impossible to omit) Kevin Sheedy
Graeme Sharp Bob Latchford Subs: Ronnie Goodlass(who really merits a place) Adrian Heath,Derek Mountfield,Jim Mcdonagh,Duncan McKenzie
To all fellow Evertonians,I love this site and here's to a fantastic season ahead. Dave from County Clare, Ireland. (10/01/05) 50.
My best Eleven that I have seen are the following as i'm only 24 I can
only Southall, Subs:
Dunc, Horne, Mountfield, Bracewell, Martyn 49. 1
SOUTHALL BEEN WATCHING US SINCE 77 AND THIS IS THE BEST I COULD COME UP WITH, TOTAL QUALITY. THIS SIDE WOULD PLAY THE FOREIGN LEGION FROM HIGHBURY OFF THE PARK. RIGGER. (10/01/05) 48. I've been an Everton fan since I was born 17 years ago, season ticket holder and got the crest tattooed on my arm. My best 11 is since I have been born and what I've seen and my dad's told me about the couple of years before i was born like Rapid Vienna. Couldn't decide where to put Kancho so centre mid will do. Neville Southall Lee Falconer. (10/01/05) 47. There's two ways of picking this. One is to pick the best player at a particular position and the other is to pick the best team blend. Best player at each position : Big Nige Steven, Ratters, Corinthian, Mr. Ray Wilson Had to think hard about the mids but one name went down immediately:
Ball Kanchelskis Our Kid, Sir William Ralph Dean Hey wasn't so hard after all. The best team though : Big Nige Steven, Ratters, Corinthian, Mr. Ray Wilson
Kendall ( Just pipped Reid) Dave Thomas <-----------------------> Dave Thomas Dixie, The Kid (remember him this way) Bench : West, Lineker, Tricky Trev, Tommy Wright, Dave Watson Bench lacks a true midfielder. Hmmm. Not so easy. Geo. (10/01/05) 46. The best ever Everton team should be centred around one man - Big Joe parkinson. If only for his challenge in the Blues-Red shite friendly in the late 90's on John Barnes. The rest of the team picks itself on current form
Nige Leon, Tim, Tommy G, big joe, Zinedine Marcus Subs - Lee Carsley, Dunc, and Earl Barrett Michael Senior. (10/01/05) 45. Having watched the Blues for 55 years these are the BEST players that I have seen in an Everton shirt in their rightful positions. SOUTHALL ALEX SCOTT GABRIEL BALL RING YOUNG VERNON SUBS; WEST, SHARP, HARVEY, EGLINTON, WATSON Graham. (16/11/04) 44.
On me dads shoulder at age 4 in 1959. Seen many great players in the blue
shirt and the not so great. Too young for William Ralph Dean but if me
dad said he was something else then that's good enough for me. Also TG
Jones, a Welsh Corinthian before Labby. 1. Southall Steve N (Born in Everton, lived in Everton, always an Evertonian!) (16/11/04) 43. This is my little brothers best eleven Everton side throughout the years. GK
Southall Peter Powell. (16/11/04)
What fucks me off though is to see players like that jug eared twat Lineker constantly put us down, pricks like Sharp who work for the club say what they think the fans want to hear and not what they actually want to hear, the official club website is shite. My top 11 is: 1) Southall 2) Snodin 4) Ratcliffe 5) Mountfield 3) Van den Hauwe 7) Steven 6) Reid 8) Bracewell 11) Nevin 9) Gray 10) Radzinski Subs: Mimms, Parkinson, McCall, Hibbert, Gravesen, Yobo,
Note. No sign of the Fat Fucking Pie eating Granny Prosy shagging BMX riding ginger prick. Thanks. Chris. (16/11/04) 41. Southall Yobo, D.Watson, Gough, Ball Parkinson, Dacourt, Kanchelskis, Limpar Beardsley, Ferguson
From 92 onwards. Roger Daniels. (16/11/04) 40.
Southall Ta, Rob McG. (16/11/04) 39. Southall Yobo...... TG Jones ........ Ratcliffe ........Wilson Ball.......Kendall....... Reid........Sheedy Dixie ........ Gray Subs: Dave Thomas, Big Bob, Bracewell, Harvey, McKenzie
38. From what I have had the good fortune to see I would select: Southall Derek James Sullivan. (13/11/04) 37. Although I'm only 19, I have seen the History of Everton video countless times. So in truth, here's my best eleven, although I haven't seen many of them play. Southall Wright Labone Ratcliffe Wilson Reid Kendall Ball Sheedy Dean Sharp
In truth, out of the 18,I have only seen Big Nev in action. But what a player to see! Regards, Knights18. (13/11/04) 36. Well, I suppose I was fighting a losing battle in not getting involved with the All time XI, so here goes. I'd love to include the immortal William Ralph Dean, but I'm just keeping it to players I've seen. Neville
Southall Kev Latham (13/11/04) 35.
I'm 19 so I haven't seen much of the team from the 80's, but from what
I've watched from me dad's videos, so my best efc 11 is: southall anybody that
bad mouths speed ain't got a clue. if it wasn't for kendall turning up
fro training pissed then speed wouldn't of had to take training, so kendall
wouldn't of had to throw him out. speed is a blue, its the gobshites like
barmby and jeffers that need the proper abuse, by the way. see u next
march wayne, u fat manc fuck!
Southall Gavin Davies. (09/11/04) 33. Although I never saw William Ralph Dean play,he is so much of the history of Everton his name has to be first on the teamsheet, what a midfield that is, the Holy Trinity with the addition of Reidy, with that back four Big Nev could sit with his back on the goal post all through the match, & the Golden Vision with Dean up front, things dreams are made of Southall Stevens Labone Ratcliffe Wilson Kendall Ball Reid Harvey Young Dean peter miller. (09/11/04) 32. Having watched the blues since the 80's. My all time side would be the following:
GK Southall Neil Tompsett. (09/11/04)
Southall Steve (dixiejoebobandyduncan)(09/11/04) What Do You Think? Have your say! e-mail bluekipper.com BEST TEAM INDEX |
