109. Tough tough choices. Been watching since 1987 so we'll go from then.

1 - Big Nev

2 - Gary Stevens 4 - Ratters (C) 5 - Richard Gough 3 - Van den hauwe

7 - Kanchelskis 6 - Peter Reid 8 - Joe Parkinson 11 - Kevin Sheedy

9 - Big Dunc (at his best) 10 - Rooney

Subs: Unsworth, Sharp, Lineker, Bracewell, Watson

Here goes the explanation. Full backs pick themselves - quick, could tackle and could attack. Close calls to no-one as no-one been at their level since they retired. Closest probably Ball for one season and Alessandro this season.

Center half's - Ratcliffe - legend was so fast it was untrue. Goughie in his time was the best defender I had ever seen. Would be so far up his mans a*se for 70 minutes winning everything and then the last twenty, would make
the forward think he was going to be there stand off and sweep everything up. He taught Davey Weir how to defend in his time. Different class. Feel sorry for Dave Watson and Rhino gets on the bench for his performance in 95 cup final when he outclassed Mark Hughes and also out battled him.

Wingers - Trevor Steven has gotta be the unluckiest player but just think we need Andrei's pace and goal scoring ability. Left winger picks itself - best left foot ever.

Centre mids - A surprise with two battlers but the need to be solid was the decisive factor. How good Joe Parkinson would have been we will never know but he gets in for his performance in that cup run and the final itself where he had Paul Ince and Roy Keane in his pocket. The defensive header he put over the bar in the second half summed it up - Winner. Reidy was a legend - could pass, tackle and what an influence in the dressing room.

Forwards - Gone for Big Dunc because for many a year he was the only player who looked like he cared for Everton Football Club. I know he's had his criticism but I lay the blame firmly on the door of Walter and Archie. They finished Duncan by patching him up and sending him out 50% fit because he was our only threat. You can see this season when he's fit he's awesome. Great touch, massive in the air and scored big goals in derbies and against the manc scum. Rooney - still love him, he's still a blue and the best player I have ever seen in a blue shirt. Goal against Arsenal sums it up - still shaking my head now. Rob Jones. (13/06/05)

108. Having been an Evertonian since the early 80's i will only pick the best eleven i have seen since then

Southall

Stevens Ratcliffe Watson(C) Hinchcliffe

Steven Parkinson Speed Sheedy

Ferguson Rooney

Subs Kanchelskis Gray Reid Hutchison Sharp

Could have easily picked alot of other players but have picked my favorites over the years. Big apologizes to a couple of the new players who would easily make a lot of other Best XI sides! Special mention for The Pieman in the Middle of the Park i thought he was a super midfielder who always gave everything he had! If not for injuries would of been the grafter in Midfield for many years. Also Big Dunc on his day is unmarkable and a true Everton Legend!!! The Heywoods. (13/06/05)

107. I thought I'd go with a late 80s onwards "true blue" team. Those people who you know would have (in their prime and pomp) sold their own Nana just to keep us from relegation. The ones who have given it their all.

Big Nev

Van den Hauwe, Waggy, Ratters, Unsie

Tricky Trev, Big Joe, Mad Dog, Sheeds

(don't hate me) Big Dunc, Super

Subs : Martyn, Horne, M Ball, Gough, Limpars, Diamond.

Daniel Roberts. (13/06/05)

106.

Southall,

Stevens, Watson, Ratcliffe, Van den Hauwe,

Stevens, Kendall, Ball, Sheedy,

Dean, Sharp.

Subs: Big Nige, Labone, Harvey, Reid, Gray

Manager Moyesy!!! – he’s got red hair and we don’t care!!!!!

Champions league here we come. Steve Holmes. (13/06/05)

105. I'm 24 years old so i am limited to what I've seen. Obviously Dixie Dean was way before my time but who needs to have been around to know that he is Mr Everton!!! He's the biggest Legend ever to have played for the blues so he has to be there. Call me stupid but I know Big Dunc is not an outstanding goalscorer but there's nobody who loves playing for Everton more than he does and that tattoo!!! Well, say no more. I would just love to see Dixie Dean playing off Big Dunc. Joe Parkinson just has to be in there as well coos he is just simply the most underrated player the premiership has ever seen!! I've picked a team on heart, commitment and courage and not just ability.

Southall

D.Watson, Labone, Ratcliffe

Kanchelskis, Gravesen, Parkinson, Ball, Sheedy

Gary Stevens, Labone, Ratcliffe, Ray Wilson

Trevor Steven Kendall, Ball, Harvey

Rooney, Dean

Peter Bottomley (19/05/05)

100. I have been a true blue since '83, at 4 years old! Here is in my opinion, the best ever Everton team -:

1) Southall

(2) Stevens (3) Ratcliffe (c) (4) Stubbs (5) D. Watson

(6) Carsley (7) Gravesen (8) Reid (9) Sheedy

(10) 'Dixie' Dean (11) Sharp

Subs: Martyn, Cottee, Latchford, Gray, Royle, Gough & Cahill

Manager: Howard Kendall Coach: Colin Harvey

My ideal team is predominantly 80s,90s & current team - I think DM is doing a fantastic job at the club, and we couldn't have asked for a better start to the season ... all this without the help of our 'loyal' friend Mr Rooney I might add. The ideal management team would be the 80s "Kendall-Harvey" partnership as it was the best I have seen in my lifetime, wouldn't remember Catterick, even my old man only vaguely remembers the old school of science days. Nev Southall is without a doubt, Everton's best goalkeeper EVER and one day in 97, when he left Everton, I actually had a lump in my throat. We do however having said that, have a fairly decent keeper in Nigel Martyn, the lad still proves that you mature with age but is still as agile and sharp as ever. The two starting line-up strikers were Dean & Sharpe - Everton's highest pre-war and post-war strikers respectively. Up The Toffees!!!! Kev Ratcliffe deserves the captain's band, as I feel he did the best job as a skipper that I have actually seen at Everton. Wayne Baker (21/04/05)

Nev

Snodin Watto The Rat [capt] Psycho
