So here's the best team made up of players I've personally seen in the Royal Blue Shirts. Nev
Southall (in goal) Daytripper. (29/11/05) 179. BEEN WATCHING THE BLUES SINCE I WAS BORN, NEVER SEEN PLAYERS LIKE YOUNG AND BALL BUT WHAT HAVE I SEEN THEY WERE GREATS AND DESERVE THERE PLACE Southall
FROM LEE ARMER. (29/11/05) 178. GK.
SOUTHALL G3436. (29/11/05) 177. When the best XI reached 100 entries I started doing what David Gordon. of Aughton suggested - adding up the votes for each player to get the overall winners. I only got about half way through but it was looking like nothing was going to outstrip this team. Southall, Stevens, Ratcliffe, Watson, Wilson, Steven, Reid, Ball, Sheedy, Sharp, Dean. Subs. Martyn, Labone, Yobo, Latchford, Kendall. EFC Forever. Eddy Tosney. (29/11/05) 176. 1)
Big Nev Susan McNabb. (29/11/05) 175. Being 16, I won't have seen all of our great players, but have seen dvd's and heard all about them from my dad none stop when he's drunk. So in my opinion this is the best Everton lineup. But we don't need them 2 get into europe. well some of 'em. Southall
G.Stevens Ratcliffe Van Den
T.Steven Gravesen
Dean Subs- Martyn, Rhino (just because he's a diehard Evertonian), Alan Ball, Pat Nevin (just because of that chip against the manc shite), Big Dunc Craig Wilson, Southport. (24/11/05) 174. I have been watching Everton for many years and this is, by far, the best XI (in a 4-3-3 formation): Southall ScouserAndy. (24/11/05) 173. 1. Southall 2. Tommy Wright 5. Labone 4. Ratcliffe 3. Wilson 6. Trevor Steven 8. Ball 10. Gravesen 11. Sheedy 7. Young 9. Sharp Subs: West, Gary Stevens, Weir, Reid, Latchford Been a blue since 1957 and this team represents the best I have seen. I tried to get a balance to the team imagining they could all play today, wouldn’t that be truly awesome. Bill Pickard, London. (24/11/05) 172. Southall Lyons Labone Ratcliffe Harvey Kendall Ball Vernon (c) Sheedy Dean Young subs - West, D. Watson, Reid, Sharp, Latchford
171. Southall subs Duncan Mckensie, Big Dunc, Martyn, Gravesen, Mountfield. Keith Forbes. (24/11/05) 170. My best 11 has to be as follows: southall d. watson labone ratcliffe kanchelskis young reid sheedy rooney dean linekar
169. Southall Thomas. (15/11/05) 168. Southall Snods D. Watson Stubbs Naysmith S. Watson Gazza Gravesen Kilbane Dean Ferguson Graeme Smith. (15/11/05) 167. Great site lads...Here is my best ever Everton side. southall rub

Nev
163. I am only 16, so this is the best everton team in the last 16 years, in my opinion. 1.Southall 2.Hibbert 3.Yobo 4.Watson 5.Hichcliffe 6.Kanchelskis 7.Gravesen 8.Cahill 9.Kilbane 10.Ferguson 11.Campbell Paul Wilson. (11/11/05) 162. Well, I'm only 28 years young lads so some of these players i haven't actually seen live, but I've watched enough videos and read enough books to make a fair go at this ... see what you think. Great site too lads, makes work worth coming in for! :)
GK: Neville Southall
Bloody hell ... that was a lot harder than i thought ... no place for
Andy Gray, Howard Kendall or Colin Harvey at all!! I bet Mike Walker felt
the same with dilemmas such as who to play between Earl Barrett, Matt
Jackson and Paul Holmes eh??? :) 161. The best Everton team i've seen play since 1996 would be- Southall Evertonian for almost 16 years (all my life). Great website with a bit of everything. Jack McGonigle. (11/11/05) 160. I've been an Evertonian since cup semi-final day 1968. Here's my all-time greatest 11:
Southall Although the late sixties team mysteriously collapsed from the 70/71 season onwards with so much expected of them, I still feel that the team we had from 67 through to us winning the Championship in 69/70 was, player for player, the greatest. I recently got the dvd of the 68 cup final from the WBA club shop. How we didn't win I'll never know ! xongs . (03/11/05) 159. I am 15 years old and have been going the match since I was 5. Never before have I been so proud to be a blue. Here is my Everton First 11 from the years which I have supported the pride of Merseyside. Goalkeeper-Big
Nev-I only really seen him in his podgy years but he was good. Andy. (03/11/05) 158. My EFC 1st XI. For various reasons-from the 'modern' era. I'm under 40-just!!! This side would be riddled with aggression, skill and above all style. A match for anyone!!! 4-4-2. Big Nev-World's greatest ever goalie for any side in history. Seriously-has there been better-Yashin, Banks, Shilton? NAH! Stevens-athlete,
pace, aggression Steven-with
Stevens-unbeatable-best right sided pair ever-underrated player was Tricky
Big Duncan-the lad is Bluer than blue-heading ability unsurpassed in the modern era. He would die for the cause-what a Centre Forward! Rooney-this kid can (and will ) do a Maradona and win the big one for England in 2006. That will be our third Jules Rimet winner in the side. Nice Karma me thinks Manager (Controversial!) Has to be David Moyes. He has done superbly and I like the guy's style. 'The Peoples' Club': A Masterstroke!!! Another who wouldn't hide in a ruck either. Against Alex Ferguson ( A guy I really respect BTW) the other night he was sound. Talk about leading from the front man! Never saw Dixie Dean TE Jones etc-me grandad said Dixie was something else on earth, pace, aggression, skill what price today? £50M? ditto TEJ. My old man also said Tony Kay was out of this world. Really good. Out of order what happened to TK, but very pleasing to hear he still has a soft spot for the Peoples Club. Also, this side could seriously compete in ANY Football Ruckers XI. Some very tough boys out there; never mind the Manager! The site is a blinder BTW lads! Keep up the good work-exiled Scouser in London-see you in the Blue Kipper lounge next season! We are coming up! Get the beers in. Kind Regards, Kevin Perkes. (03/11/05) 157. I 'Kevin' have been watching the blues for 20 years and here is my best team!!! "How hard is it to choose?" 1)
Neville Southall (no questions 'binman stroke Genius') Kevin. (03/11/05) 156. my best EVERTON team ever: GK
NEVILLE SOUTHALL EVERTON for ever. Martin from Merthyr Tydfil. (03/11/05) 155. A team to drool over, and no place for either of Newton's, Peter Reid, Paul Bracewell, Alan Ball, Derek Temple, Bobby Collins, Fred Pickering, Joe Royle, Bob Latchford, Graham Sharp, either of the Duncan's, Dave Hickson or a host of others, the list goes on. We really have been spoilt in the past, particularly at No.9, hopefully we will be again in the future.
1. Neville [Everybody's choice] 2. Alex Parker [Timed the tackles to perfection] 3. Ray Wilson [The master craftsman] 4. Kevin Ratcliffe [Sorry Brian, there's only room for one skipper] 5. Dave Watson [A tower of strength who held us together all by himself at times] 6. Tony Kay [Only saw TK a few times, a hero on the pitch; the complete midfield package, all in one player] 7. Alex Scott [His commitment to Everton eases him past Trevor Steven who couldn't wait to get away - and played like it towards the end] 8. Andy Gray [A man for all seasons] 9. Alex Young [Words aren't enough to describe how good he was] 10. Colin Harvey [Could still provide the England Left Hand Side solution, bad hip and all - and should have done so then] 11. Kevin Sheedy [Simply the Best Left Foot in the world]
Subs: 12. Gordon West [The boys' pen absolutely loved him to bits] 13. Brian Labone [A real gent, always fair, always a sportsman] 14. Jimmy Gabriel [He walked with the Baxter's and Mackays - where have the Scottish Wing Halves gone?] 15. Roy Vernon [Nervy and exciting thoroughbred; deadly with penalties] 16. Howard Kendall [The best ever player never to have won a cap]
If I'd seen them perhaps TG Jones, Joe Mercer, Tommy Lawton and Dixie might have just about scraped into the starting 11! PS My worst 11 would certainly include John Collins, Gary Lineker, John Gidman, Slaven Bilic and Vinny Samways. I can forgive lack of ability - and we have had our share - but I can't accept a lack of commitment to Everton. I have to add to this the names of Barmby and Xavier for the obvious reasons and Wayne because he broke our hearts. Jim Williams. (15/10/05) 154. Southall Mark Ellis. (15/10/05) 153. Martyn Hibbert, Labone, Stubbs, Pistone Osman, Grav, Cahill, killer Dixie Dean, Radzinski Subs: rooney (yes that shit), Alex young Louise Bently. (15/10/05) 152. I am a die hard everton fan and went to my first game in 1992 when I was 7 and me best XI I've seen are as follows;-
KANCHELSKIS,
GRAVESEN, DACOURT, KILBANE
MANAGER - MOYESY - ASSISTANT -KENDELL - COACH - HARVEY, IRVINE & ROYLE THANKS BOYS GREAT SITE - SCONNER. (15/10/05) 151. My all time Everton team would be (4-5-1)
Southall Jack Mcgonigle. (15/10/05) What Do You Think? Have your say! e-mail info@bluekipper.com BEST TEAM INDEX |
