Who Are The Worst XI Players You have Ever Seen In A Blue Shirt? You can pick Any Formation You Want. Whatever you think e-mail your Team to bluekipper.com and we will put your XI here.

36. I've managed to pick 2 teams - a team of Foreigners v a team of British born players. I'd go for either nil-nil or ten all if this game was played.

4-5-1.

E. Baardsen

M. Hottiger S. Bilic P. Kroldrup A. Pistone

N. Alexandersson S. Rehn A. Nyarko C. Thomsen Preki

I. Bakayoko

Sub - Linderoth

v

4-3-3

Richard Wright

P. Holmes Billy Wright G. Keeley D. Burrows

Simon Davies V. Sideways K. Langley

S. Barlow B. Angell J. Spencer

Sub - Stephen Hughes

Sadly, I can't believe how many bad right backs we've had. McDonald, Barrett, Darracott & Tony Thomas were all in with a shout.

Shackleton, Harper, Kavanagh

Subs: Dunlop, Hottiger, Marshall(I), Wilson(I), Harburn

This is far more fun than the best XI idea, which I started to celebrate my fifty years as an Evertonian. I found that I could remember far more players who were comedians than I could remember great players. Keeley has to be the worst ever. One game on loan and he scored an own goal and was destroyed by Ian Rush. to any one who missed the succession of useless left wingers we had in the late fifties: Laverick, Fell and above all Kavanagh, I pity you. you missed a treat. Rick Tarleton. (29/11/05)

33. My worst eleven is..........

1. David Lawson. 2John Barton.3 Marc Hottiger, 4 Slaven Bilic, 5 Glen Keeley.6 Kevin Langley(absolute shite.) 7 Mitch Ward. 8 Stephan Rehn.10 Brett Angell.11 Claus Thompson.

subs: gk Espen Baardsen. David Smallman. Steve Seargeant. Stuart Barlow. Mick Ferguson.

Brian Lea... St Helens. (29/11/05)

32. Having watched The Blues from 1965-86 (pre antipodean emigration) I've picked most of my worst players from that era.

GK - Dai Davies
Defence - Frank D'Arcy, Billy Wright, Glen Keeley, John McLaughlin
Midfield - Terry Curran, Vinnie Samways, Claus Thomsen, Aiden Maher
Forwards - Bernie Wright, Stuart Barlow
Subs - Drew Brand, John Bailey, Geoff Nulty, Mick Ferguson, Alan Biley

ps, manager would have to be Walter Smith, unably assisted by Gordon Lee

Cheers. Rob Kelly, Adelaide, Australia. (29/11/05)

Assistant: Mike Walker

Kiwiman. (18/11/04)

29. Couldn’t resist the temptation –

Jim ‘Seamus’ McDonagh – an International ?!!!
Frank D’Arcy –
aristocratic name, agricultural approach.
‘Tiger ‘ McLaughlin –
master of the o.g.
Slaven Bilic –
the Great Pretender
Harry Bennett –
more like Gordon Bennett
Geoff Nulty –
couldn’t pass water never mind a ball
Danny Williamson –
career thankfully cut short
Stefan Rehn –
looked good till he got the ball
Ian Wilson –
replacement for Sheedy? I don’t think so!
Rod Befit –
Ipswich must have pissed themselves with this swap deal
Brett Angell –
the touch of an elephant

Subs: - Drew Brand –
following the great Scottish tradition

Vinny Samways – his only goal was a cross!
Claus Thomsen – tempted to put him alongside Rehn in the middle
Bernie Wright – Harry must have signed him for a bet
Alan Biley – well he looked a bit like Denis Law !

I’m sure must Blues could probably pick at least 2 teams ! Keep up the great site. Best wishes, Steve Mahon. (18/11/04)

28. I have been going since 74, but with a limited knowledge of the game since 77. Everton being Everton I have seen the sublime to the absolute awful. My eleven would have to be:

Angel, Biley.

Great site, up the blues! Gareth Fieldstead. (18/11/04)

21.

Espen Baardsen

Marc Hottiger, Peter Clarke, Slaven Bilic, John O'Kane

David Ginola, Claus Thomsen, Stephen Hughes, Idan Tal

Joe-Max Moore, Brett Angell

Subs: Carl Tiler, Paul Gerrard, John Spencer, Earl Barrett, Stuart Barlow

Baardsen played 1 game 4 us, conceded 4 goals, I think he was at fault for at least 3 of them, and we lost 4-3 cos of him, that's why no1 else deserves to be in net, not even that horrible bastard Paul Gerrard. Peter Clarke was meant to be the new Dave Watson, fact remains he wasn't, he was total crap. Bilic was a total waste of a lot of money. Claus the scouse was a joke, but at least we can laugh about him playing 4 us. Hughes is the worst player midfielder ever. Ginola basically came for the huge wages, and it showed. Don't get me wrong he was class against Arsenal on his debut, and from then on he was total shite. I'll never forget Stubbsy shouting at him after we went a goal down to Crewe. Joe-Max was an honest player, but was never good enough to play premier football, the fact Stevie Watson (a right back at the time) was chosen to play up-front instead of him says it all. Stuy Barlow too was honest, but just not premier standard. Poor Brett Angell, I reckon he'll appear in every worst XI, simply he was out of his depth (that sums Mike Walker up really) and obviously Tesco thought so to, he wasn't even good enough to push trolleys! haha But at least he scored, more than can be said for the useless Scottish twat Spencer. 1 player I didn't include which I feel a lot of people will is Danny Williamson, I feel a bit sorry for him. He was still finding his feet at a big club when he got injured, and yeah ok he cost us a lot, but a young players career was finished b4 it ever really started. Kris Hutchinson. (11/11/04)
