After a fantastic introduction to league football at Wrexham, Kipper faced a much more stern test for their first home game of the season, with a visit from local neighbours Liverpool.

As expected the game got off to thunderous pace, with little football to satisfy the games purists. For the first half an hour the game was a tight affair, with only a few half chances to speak of, but with the game settling down, Kipper were caught on the counter attack and one down, after a 50/50 between the blues keeper and reds striker, led the ball being put into the Blues net and keeper down injured. After a little treatment, the Blues keeper was back on his feet and soon Kipper back in the game, a innocent looking free kick, weakly taken by Mike Roberts, took a massive deflection and somehow slipped through the reds keepers hands and into the net. Bluekipper had played poorly but came in at half time all square.

The second half kicked off with Kipper starting like they finished the first and it didn't take long for Liverpool to capitalise on some sloppy defending to go in front once more, with the Kipper defenders wasting 3 opportunities to clear the danger. Once again the blues found themselves behind for only a short time, when a pinpoint through ball found Top goalscorer Luke Creedon just onside, who calmly chipped the Reds keeper from just outside the area.

The game was now starting to resemble a basketball game with the sides taking it in turn to attack, from one of the Liverpool attacks the ball found it's way into the hands of Blues keeper David Dunphy, who for the second time in minutes was penalised by the referee for carrying the ball out of his area in his hands while kicking the ball and from the resulting free kick the ball was volleyed into the Blues net again with Keeper Dunphy injuring himself , but this time was more serious and led to a ambulance being rung and him taken to hospital.
With no sub keeper it was down to Dave Lyon to don the gloves, but he soon found himself picking the ball out of his net, after a thunderous free kick had beaten him.

So at 4-2 down and only 10 minutes to go, Kipper switched to at 3-4-3 formation with immediate results when Luke Creedon again found himself unmarked in the box to steer a low cross into the back of the net.

Bluekipper were now sensing an unlikely comeback and with a large crowd backing them, started to push their opponents further and further into their own half, but still needed a couple of fantastic saves from their stand in keeper to keep them the game .Then with only a minute to go, Kipper forced the Reds into conceding a corner, from which Mike Roberts delivered in a fantastic ball which was met by the head of Captain Ged Mcalley to complete a amazing comeback.

So the waiting was over, 16 months after their first ever match against BAO, Bluekipper F.C. took part in their first ever competitive game on Sunday the 2nd of September 2007, but the match began in a sombre mood, with a minute's silence for the death of young Evertonian Rhys Jones.

When the fixtures were published for the upcoming season, Wrexham away seemed a tricky tie. Kipper had been there a few months previous for a friendly and won 7-3 but since then they had a completely new squad and it looked like they would be in for a tough match. How wrong they were to think that, within 45 minutes Kipper were 9-0 up with Mike Roberts grabbing kippers first ever competitive goal. Creedon had bagged himself 4, Roberts adding to his first strike and singletons for McPartland, Reaney and Murphy. Wrexham could simply not deal with Kipper, from the off they were in to them playing some cracking football at a tremendous tempo. So with the job done in the first half, they took it a little bit easier only adding 3 more goals to the tally coming from Croft, a second for Murphy and pick of the goals from Steven Hobin. A cracking free kick from 30 yards which just sailed over the keepers head, with that Ste was given man of the match by the Wrexham lads and that was the end of the goals. But the moment of the game was still to come, after good work by Brophy on the edge of the area to win the ball back he managed to get his shot off but unfortunately for him it was charged down but fortunately for Croft it rolled right in to his path. With a swing of his left boot not only did he drag his shot wide, he ended up in a heap to the cheers of both sides. The final whistle blew and Kipper were celebrating the first win of the season in the usual way with some life threatening vodka and a few tinnys for the minibus journey home.
