Bob Latchford is back on Merseyside today to launch his new book, "30". He will be attending a few book signings over the weekend (details below) and meeting up with a few old Everton team mates tonight at the official launch dinner. Bob has taken time out of his busy schedule to write a personal letter to Bluekipper.
To all the readers of Bluekipper, When the news stories about the book went on Bluekipper.com, the Everton Former Players’ Foundation was inundated by requests from fans. That not only speaks volumes about the popularity of the website, but also the calibre of people who read it. Bluekipper has supported the Everton Former Players’ Foundation immensely over the years – and on behalf of EFPF, I’d really like to thank you for it. In the run up to the book launch, the site has raised over £250 for the Foundation, which will be put to very good use. Before the Blackburn game, I was interviewed by Kipper – and it was an experience I thoroughly enjoyed, even though some of your questions were very bizarre! I am proud to have been part of an Everton side that has left supporters with so many memories, but then again I’m proud to have played for Everton full stop.
The book has been a real pleasure to do – and it’s been made a success by the readers of Bluekipper, so thank you one and all. If I can be cheeky for a moment, can I ask readers who haven’t purchased a copy to do so at www.boblatchford.com – that way we can ensure that every single penny goes to the Foundation. I hope you all enjoy reading the book – it was a pleasure to do. It’s great to call myself an Evertonian! Thanks again, Bob Latchford. (21/04/06) Book signings are planned for the Everton Superstore on Ranelagh Street, City Centre on Friday 21 April (12 noon- 2pm & from 4:30pm onwards) and at the programme stall above St. Luke the Evangelist Church on Goodison Road on the afternoon of Sunday 23 April (2.30-4pm). If you can't make it, buy your copy direct from the Foundation at www.boblatchford.com Bid for a signed copy by clicking here |
