Everton started today's game against chelsea in a fierce mood and after only 2 minutes Gary Naysmith headed wide after a good move. Chelsea made it 1-0 after Mario Stanic heads in a scrappy goal from a Le Saux corner. After that Everton have most of the possession and had 2 chances. First from Li Tie and then from Tommy Gravesen. Both teams are now starting to throw in some dirty challenges and when Hasslebiank got the ball outside the area Stubbs sends him flying and gets booked. After that Mario Stanic gets booked for diving.

D
ave Unsworth then pushes de lucas to the ground and in the process gets the free kick. Li Tie and Tommy Graveson are both having good games and are starting to control the midfield. Chelsea make it 2-0 when Hasslebiank followed up a shot and put it into the the bottom corner after 27 minutes.
Everton have a Campbell shot saved by Cudicini and then Radzinski has a shot from 20 yards saved. At this point the the scoreline does not reflect the game. Everton get a goal back when Naysmith fires in a right foot shot into Cudicinis net to make it 2-1 after 41 minutes and then Everton pile on the pressure trying to get the the equaliser.

Half Time: Everton 1, Chelsea 2.

Chelsea start the half with 10 men when Petit was slow off the mark to get on the pitch. Everton start
the second half the same way they finished the first half, chelsea have 2 chances through a Lampard shot and a Le Saux corner which went inches wide. Everton start to pass the ball around good. Gronkjear comes on for stanic on 60 minutes and Everton make 2 substitutions when Gemmill comes on for Li Tie and Rooney on for Radzinski. Everton then miss a golden chance to make it 2-2, when Campbell and Carsley both miss sitters. Carsley's header is tipped over the bar and then Campbell smashes a header onto the bar. Rooney goes past Terry and has a shot pushed around the post for a corner.

Lampard then gets booked for refusing to go off the pitch for treatment for an injury. yobo slips and lets Zola in who fires his shot high and wide. Then in the last minute of the game Unsworth gets tangled up with Gronkjear and it turns into a little scrap and after everything calms down Gronkjear is booked and Unsworth is sent off. Chelsea break and score an undeserved 3rd goal.

Final Score: Everton 1, Chelsea 3. reported by Chris Jones and Paul Salt.

Quotes

Young Kipper: "The referees a (cough, cough, cough)" Can't say too much, me mam might read this!"

David Moyes: "I criticised the players in midweek but not today. They were full of it and desperate to put it right. They gave their all, maybe one or two of them didn't play as well as they can do but most of them were committed and trying to show they were doing the best for their team.
"We should have got something. I actually heard someone on the Chelsea bench say they couldn't believe they got away with a result.
"From the free kick we were awarded following the David Unsworth sending off we feel we should have had a penalty because there was a blatant push on Kevin Campbell, it was just not our day from the officials point of view."

Team News

We think Moyesy will get back to the tried & successful 442 formation on Saturday. With Pembo a definite non starter, it looks like Nace will get a run, but lets hope he puts the boots on the right feet this week. As he had a stinker on Wednesday, even though he scored. We think The Hibbert, & Stubbsey will return in place of Pisto & Davie Weir. The only problem is who will play wide right. All the contenders are struggling with injury. Moyesy will pick the fittest out of Harry Hill, Wato, Saint Nic or Toby.

Moyesy says: "Mark has a bit of a hamstring strain and he will miss the weekend's but hopefully the problem is not too serious,"

Young Kipper's eleven to start: Wright, Hibbert, Stubbs, Yobo, Unsworth, Watson, Li Tie, Gravesen, Naysmith, Radzinski, Campbell.
