Tony Hibbert came in at right back for Joey, with Stevie Wat in front of him. The middle of the park was made up of Right Said Fred and The Duke and Super kept their places up front.

We started quite well and we should have been 1 up after only 4 minutes. Super flicked on and Wayne was completely clear. I thought go on my son, but Wayne screwed his effort just wide.

Villa looked there for the taking but our play wasn't creating too many chances. But when we did it wasn't taken. Wayne spotted a great run by Stevie Watson and put a brilliant ball over the defense into Stevies path. He tried a volley but his attempt went well wide.

Another chance fell to Super when he was put in by Grav but the Villa goalie saved well at his feet. All in all it wasn't a half of football that had us jumping for joy, but having said that Villa didn't have one shot on goal. They are shite.

Half Time 0-0

The 2nd half started with the worst possible start. Villa had their 1st strike on goal and it ended up in our net. Wrighty was to blame. Unbelievably he tried to chip a goal kick to Tony on the right, he got it horribly wrong. It went straight to their man. We never recovered and a few passes later it ended with Allback scoring at the back post. What a Freddy Kruger.

Six or seven minutes later David Moyes made a substitution, he brought on Duncan for Unsy. It was a gamble he had to take and one that paid off. We were level within 2 minutes of him coming on. A short corner between Grav and Nace ended with Super heading Gary's cross powerfully into the net.

Our play was better now and we really went for the winner. Duncan was holding the ball up well and bringing people into play. Stevie and Tony were causing all kinds of trouble down the right and we were getting better crosses into the box. Grav was having one of his better days spreading the ball wide at every attempt.

Duncan was nearly rewarded with a goal. His play certainly deserved it. Wayne put him in with a nice ball into the box on the right, his shot was blocked by the ugly Enckleman. The rebound fell to The Roonster but his shot was cleared off the line by some lucky Villa prick.

I don't like Gudjonsson, he was forever on the deck rolling around in agony. One moment he was up and jogging back the next he went down like a bag of shite. It was only when I saw it on the telly that you realized that Duncan had done him. I wonder if we have heard the last of that incident. Funny thing was when he lying on the floor Nace wanted to dribble around him instead of smacking one at goal.

Time was running when Moyesy threw on Leon Osman for Stevie Wat. He got a chance when Wayne put him in with a half chance, but unfortunately he slipped before he could get his shot in.

In the 93rd minute Goodison went bonkers. A free kick by Stubbsey was flung into the box, everyone was trying to get a touch on it. It broke to the edge of the box where Wayne was waiting. He hit a remarkable half volley with his left peg. In it went like an arrow just inside the post. My daughter Lisa thought I'd broke her nose because I squeezed her that hard in the celebrations. What an ending. The victory was well deserved after a brilliant performance in the 2nd half.

My Blue Kipper Star Man goes to Wayne Rooney for an inspirational performance. He was helped by everyone for a never say die attitude that is becoming a constant factor in a David Moyes side.

Moyesy says: "We had been getting close to taking him off. But we felt that he may have something left in his bag for us and decided to leave him out there."

Team News

As we approach another must win game I think David Moyes will ring the changes. I think Yobo will start in place of Davie Weir, with Tony Hibbert, who we believe will recover from his ankle cut, going right back and I also think Duncan will start a game for the first time in ages. Now is the time for Duncan to prove that he is over his problems and show us over the next three games what an inspiration he can be. It doesn't look like The Rad will be fit so Wayne will continue up front and if Pembo is fit I think he will play, because he can take corners for Duncan to head into the back of the net.

On The Rad Moysey said:"Tomasz may not be ready for the weekend. He has done plenty of running, but doesn't feel comfortable kicking the ball. He hasn't played for five weeks either so we have to bear that in mind, too, before we start thinking about putting him straight back in".

Jogger's eleven to start: Wright, Hibbert, Yobo, Stubbs, Naysmith, Carsley, Li Tie, Gravesen, Pembridge, Ferguson, Rooney.
