EVERTON: Martyn, Hibbert, Yobo, Stubbs, Nacesmith, Watson, Carsley, Gravesen, Kilbane, Campbell, McFadden. BENCH:Wright(Martyn 68m), Pistone(Hibbert 56m), Bent(Campbell 56m), Ferguson(Gravesen 68m), Chadwick(McFadden 76m), Bosnar, Clarke, Osman. GOALSCORERS: Gravesen (pen) 33m, Kilbane 55m. We were enjoying ourselves in St. Frannys when someone decided it was a good idea to go to the match. So after much debate we headed for Goodison. It was great to see so many fans with the new kit. I had sun factor 45 cream on, it was a hot day. When we took our seats in the Upper Bullens, the Sower raised a very interesting talking point as the team run out to Z-Cars. When was the last time Everton didn't wear blue at Goodison Park? We didn't know. Do you? Everton were 2 behind within 30 minutes. I wanted to go back to St. Frannys. But we were soon back in the game after Super got brought down for a pen. Our new pen taker Grav put it away. Half time came and we decided to try the new beer. It was shite, but any beer is shite when it is served hot. Why can't we have cold beer? Get bigger fridges and switch them on. They produced a totally different 11 players for the 2nd half, what a luxury. Killa got us level when he converted Stevie Wato's cross. The footy we produced for the goal was good stuff. No more chances for either side after that.
Back on the ale talking about the big one next week. The ale must have
been flowing because Lard phoned a bet up putting £20 on Everton
to beat the Arse next week. Yer never know. David Moyes: "Overall, I'm pleased. The boys are doing great. They're doing the best they can and if they're doing their best, nobody can question them, certainly not me. I think they have taken encouragement from the game because we're sticking at it and working well together." It will be another mixed bag today. Wayne Rooney and Li Tie are out with long term injuries. Big Dunc still has a mystery foot injury. Leon Osman has a slight groin strain and will be kept in cotton wool until Arsenal. Of course Sandro Pisto is ouy. This time with an Achilles problem. On the bright side, Joey Yobo will be back. New signing Eddy Bosnar is in the squad, as well as young Antnee Gerrard and Danny Fox. Moyesy says: "Leon Osman may miss the game with a groin strain and Duncan Ferguson’s got a sore foot, so I’ don’t think they’ll play. Alessandro Pistone’s a doubt with an Achilles’ problem, but mainly everybody’s ready and those who may miss out aren’t too serious. We’ve got one or two injuries, we’ve had one or two injuries as the pre-season’s gone on, but they’re to be expected and we’ve had less than normal. That’s a good sign." Squad: Martyn, Wright, Watson, Stubbs, Yobo, Bosnar, Weir, Kilbane, Naysmith, Gravesen, Carsley, Bent, Campbell, McFadden, Chadwick, Clarke, Gerrard, Fox, Turner. |
