I know we haven't got the biggest squad in the world, and what we have got is bordering on running on empty right now, but, surely, SURELY, we still have enough to beat a West Brom side rich in endeavor, yet poor on quality.

The first half was one of few chances, west brom hit the bar with a header, which appeared to be won far too easily for my liking, and Carsley had a drive from outside the area. Sat at the opposite end of the ground to the incident, I didn't have a clear view of our penalty claim, but what player in world football would dive when the ball is loose and the goal is gaping? Maybe we just don't have any luck when Graham "Liver" Poll is in charge of our games

I don't think I've ever took satisfaction from a player getting injured during a game of football, oh ok McMahon against Ebbrell was good, but when Sandro Pistone got injured and had to go off yesterday I felt relief. For someone with undoubted talent, why does this guy always fail to find a blue shirt, is he colour blind?

The gaffer doesn't escape criticism either, I'm a big fan, but it was so obvious yesterday that West Brom were like most teams now, in that they have sussed how to play against our 4-5-1 system. The change should have been made far sooner than it was. Big Dunc came on, and for once we managed to get down the line to deliver some telling crosses, unfortunately, none of them were enough to really test Russell Holte in the Baggies goal.

And so we reach the critical stage of the season and we have lost 3 in a row, and yes it is disappointing, but we all have to remember that scorching day in August when we all witnessed the men v boys affair against Arsenal, when we all walked away from Goodison fearing the worst. We have had an amazing season, and the credit must go to the players and the management staff, not forgetting we are still in with a great shout of champions league football next season.

Which leaves me with just the Blue Kipper Star Man. A player who brings skill and vision to our midfield, my award goes to Mikael Arteta.

Quotes After The Game

Moyesy says: “The defender does grab his arm but whether or not it was enough to merit a penalty is debatable. But it’s not the referee’s fault that we haven’t won the game because we had the time and the chances to do that. Sometimes you do need those decisions to go in your favour and maybe that’s just not happening for us at the moment. I thought we did enough to win the game. I was disappointed that we didn’t create enough opportunities in the first half although we had a lot of possession. We retained the ball well and we passed it well. Mikel Arteta made a difference and the turning point was probably the tackle on Mikel in the first half that got him injured because that took the wind out of him a little bit. In the second half we looked as though we were going to be the dominant side as regards having the ball but we didn’t really hurt them. They got the goal and that changed the game.”

Everton Team News

How many "must win" games are we going to have before the end of the season? But this one is deffo one of them games. I think Moyes will have Stubbsey and Davey Weir at the back and also have Mikky back in a five man midfield with Marcus up front. This will leave Big Dunc and Biffa chomping at the bit on the bench. There are a few of the lads who need to put in really big games. Killa is one of the chaps who comes into this category and Moyesy may give him one more chance to make an impact.

Moyesy says: "I don't know if there is any easy games in the Premiership, whether they are mid-table or down at the bottom. All we know is that West Brom had a great win at Charlton in their last match and they will be intend on following that up against us. But there are reasons why we want to win the game, we need to keep hold of fourth spot so we need the points too."

Killa Kilbane says: "It's a big for us and a big for them. We're at opposite ends of the table and both need the points, especially as we've lost the last two games against Blackburn and Liverpool. We need to bounce back, it's a massive game for us."

Everton (from): Martyn, Hibbert, Pistone, Stubbs, Yobo, Weir, Osman, Carsley, Cahill, Kilbane, Ferguson, Beattie, Bent, Wright, Watson, McFadden, Naysmith, Arteta, Plessis, Gerrard.

Jogger's eleven to start: Martyn, Hibbert, Stubbs, Weir, Pistone, Osman, Arteta, Carsley, Cahill, Kilbane, Bent.

Jogger's Bet: £10 on Leon to score 1st Goal (10/1)

About The Opposition

Well we hope that Super Kev is not so super on Sunday and he is absolutely shite. For the rest of the season we wish Kevin all the best. You will never be forgotten.

Pistone on Campbell: "Kevin has gone there and done well and scored goals. They had a great win at Charlton in their last game and they have played well recently and deserved the points because they are now a good team and doing well. Kevin is a good player and doing his job well so we all know what to expect."
