The first 15 minutes we were absolutely torn apart. Mainly due to that little shit Bellamy. We could have been down by 2 in the early stage. They hit the post and missed a sitter. We just couldn't hold of the ball

After that early period we started to come into the game. In space of a couple of minute Faddy showed us why he is so frustrating as a player. He had the ball on the right. All he had to do was to roll the ball into Tony Hibbert, who had run 40 yards for the pass. But Faddy decides to come in on his left and gets the ball taken off him. He does that so often it’s embarrassing.

Two minutes later I had to stop slagging Faddy off after he had put us one up. Andy Van der Meyde bravely won a long punt up field from Phil Neville; Faddy beat his marker to get his head on the ball to get it passed Brad Friedal. One nil. Back of the net.

Everton got a big boost a couple of minutes later, when the horrible Andy Todd was sent off for deliberate handball. Biffa was in on goal if Todd hadn't handled. The ugly Bellamy was also booked for opening his big mouth too wide. I thought we had scored from the resulting free kick taken by Mikky Arteta. I was going nutty for a full minute before I realised it didn't go in.

Just before the half we went two up with an absolute beauty from Mikky. Great work from Leon on the right ended with him put a lovely ball in to the path of the incoming Arteta. He buried it with aplomb. I love Mikky. He is a top class act.

We were going crazy. It’s the first time this season we had scored two goals. I had a semi on.

Half Time 0-2

Dickie Wright had to come on for the injured Nigel Martyn. He gave us a couple of scary moments during the second half. He really looks uncomfortable in the air. He flaps at everything that comes his way. But at least he kept that all important clean sheet.

Duncan and Killa came on for Andy and Mikky around the hour mark. It was a backs against the wall job in the second half. The effort the team put in was superb. Biffa as usual was giving it everything he had.

We needed a third to ease the nerves, but I don’t think we created a chance in the second half. The closest they came was a trademark volley from the very ugly Tugay.

We were singing in the rain at the end. The atmosphere was brilliant. There were some good performers out there today. Leon, Biffa, Davie and Mikky. But the main man was Joey. He never put a foot or a head wrong all afternoon. He really is starting to become a top player. He wins the Blue Kipper star man.

By the way who came up with the idea of the grey kit. It has got to be one of the worst Everton have ever had. My missus looks awful in it.

Full Time 0-2

Quotes After The Game

Moyesy says: "I enjoyed the result but I think I would have liked the performance to have been better. We got the goals at crucial times and scoring just before half-time made things easier."

"I saw Blackburn in midweek and I they played well, which they did again today for the first 15 minutes. With Bellamy up front you are always worried about his pace and the way he stretches teams. It can be difficult to keep the midfield tight."

Moyesy on Climbing The Table: "I would settle for being in a European spot again next season if it was in any way possible. To be honest, I thought we did start this season well. We played well in both games with Villarreal, in the game at home to Manchester United and away at Bolton. It was the period after that that we couldn't get many results. We obviously didn't get many then, but it was the games that followed that made it look like a terrible, terrible start. But now is not a time for us to look back and decide why we didn't start particularly well, although I will look at it. I just want to make sure we are away from the bottom half of the table before I analyse what went wrong." (04/12/05)

Everton Team News

Everton's trip to Blackburn marks their 4000th game in the top flight of English football, which is a first for any English Club. They will however have to do it without Tim Cahill who has been banned for three matches after his fisticuffs with the Skunks Babayaro in last weekends match. Funny how two players can have a swing at each other and get a three game ban, but when you take an elbow at a fellow pro, the powers that be at the FA, don't bat an eye lid. Hypocritical shits.

The only injury doubt for the Blues is that of Mikky Arteta, who is struggling to shake off a knee injury, but he is travelling with the squad, and fingers crossed will be ok, but if not Ossie is on standby. Moyesy will not be juggling his numbers around as much as he did after the disaster at West Brom, and with Nuno now fit he should come back in at left back, pushing Nev into the middle in place of Tiny.

Big Dunc is now fit, but may only make the bench, and Davey Weir and Joey will still frustrate new boy Per Kroldrup from making his Premiership bow.

Everton's Future Captain Phil Neville says: "You look at the Christmas period on paper and it is the same for every team in the Premiership but it is a very tough programme. Four or five games in a short space of time means that you are probably going to struggle to get maximum points in every game so the games leading up to Christmas are vitally important. It’s always the case that if you win your home games, get what you can away from home and you will be alright at the end of the season." (02/12/05)

Everton from: Martyn, Hibbert, Yobo, Weir, Valente, Neville, Arteta, Osman, Kilbane, Davies, Van der Meyde, Kroldrup, Beattie, Bent, Ferguson, McFadden, Wright.

About The Opposition

Blackburn like the Blues have shown signs of improvement in the last few weeks, capped with an impressive last ten minutes against Charlton in the League Cup on Wednesday night.

They welcome Tugay back into the squad, aswell as Paul Dickov, and Lucas Neill. Two of Everton's Summer targets will line up against the Blues in the shape of Lily Savage, and Craig Bellamy, so lets prove a point to the money grabbing so and so's.

Ex Blues Player Mark Hughes says: We have been playing well for some time. We are a determined team and we play it the right way. We have labels we are trying to get rid of - and the only way we will do that is by playing well and winning football matches, that is what we are starting to do." (02/12/05)

Blackburn from: Friedel, Enckelman, Neill, Gray, Nelsen, Todd, Emerton, Thompson, Reid, Savage, Pedersen, Kuqi, Dickov, Bellamy, Mokoena, Khizanishvili, Tugay, Johnson, Bentley.
