No doubt this is as painful to read, as it was to sit through yesterday, so for your sake and for the sake of my fingers I will keep it short if not sweet. A combination of poor play, once again without sounding like a old recording, poor refereeing, and a Blackburn side who game plan was to shoot on sight, Everton were not beaten, more blown out of the FA Cup at the first hurdle. Moyesy pre match notes were optimistic, about being the first Everton manager since Big Joe to take us all the way to Wembley, and on to FA Cup glory. These words were undone in the first few minutes when Tim Howard looked foolish in the way Matt Derbyshire's long range effort beat him. Once again the Blues were denied a nailed on penalty when a clear handball down the Street End could be seen on Mars, but not in the eyes of referee Mr. Mariner, conspiracy, you better believe it. Blackburn went two up before the half was even warming up when Pedersen blasted his free kick into what looked like the middle of Tim's net. Two nil, awful, you could hear the mumbles around the wafer thin crowd, that twelve years of hurt, was about to go to thirteen. Mikky went down in the Blackburn box, penalty, it looked debatable, but Pedersen again faced the wrath of the crowd when he imitated a yellow card to the Spaniard, no yellow followed, baffling. Three down by the half when Paul Gallagher slotted home, it is one of the shittest half time's I have had of late, and to be honest I felt like leaving then, but there was still a pulse so to speak, so there was life of sorts in the old lady yet. Half Time: Everton 0 Blackburn 3 Johnno pulled one back from the spot as Everton piled on the second period, Big Vic with a bit more composure would have narrowed the deficit more. Leon went close as Moyesy went 3-4-3, when he brought Vaughany on for Joey. It was all to no avail, as one time Everton target McCarthy made it four in the dying seconds as Everton were camped en masse up the Blackburn end. Out of both Cups in January, eighth in the League, the players know have to make a concerted effort for Europe to salvage their own season, and give us something to cheer on till May time. Mikky pipped Phil Neville to starman, and I am off to forget all about yesterday by going to watch the Highlights of the Ashes. Narf, narf. Full Time: Everton 1 Blackburn 4

Nuno Valente, Biffa and Our Tater are all doubtful after injuries at Man City last week. Our tater could play as he will have a rest next week due to suspension. Biffa will only be on the bench after his poor performance last week. Big Vic should lead the line. Stubbsey is fit and could come in should Moyesy push Roger to left back again. Alan Irvine says: "It is an important competition and one we would love to have a good run in but that has not happened recently and it is another tough game for both sides on Sunday. Obviously at this stage of the competition you hope to get a home draw against a team from a lower division. Neither side would have asked for this one at this stage, but at least we are at home." Everton from: Howard, Neville, Yobo, Lescott, Stubbs, Weir, Hughes, Valente, Naysmith, Arteta, Osman, Carsley, Davies, Van der Meyde, McFadden, Beattie, Johnson, Anichebe, Vaughan. Kipper's starting Eleven: Howard, Neville, Yobo, Lescott, Valente, Osman, Carsley, Arteta, Van der Meyde, Johnson, Anichebe.
