There's no such thing as a friendly. You play any game to win it. Someone should have told the starting eleven. It was piss poor. We had to wait for 35 minutes for Everton to have a shot on goal. This was when Beattie had his only effort on goal. At the other end Dickie saved well in the last few minutes of the half. AJ got a few bangs on the head for his troubles. He has tremendous pace and will be a handful to Premiership defence's. The rest were ok, without doing anything. Even Our tater was a bit subdued. Just as well there was a few inflatable's flying around our end to keep us from watching the game. Lets put it down to the hot weather. Moyesy got what he wanted another run out for the senior players, in the build up for the start of the season. HALF TIME: Preston 0 EVERTON 0 Four subs on at half time. One of them, Leon Osman turned the bore 0-0 draw into something worth watching. His skill on the ball is a pleasure to watch. He brought other players into the game. His passes make other players do things, as his balls are so good. (Gnarf, Gnarf). Carsley hit the bar with a great free kick. Simon Davies went on a run, took a gamble. Something he hasn't done since he's been here, got a few lucky bounces, got to the bye line, pulled it back to Biffa, who fluffed it. At the other end, Ian Turner came running out to make a great save at the feet of a Preston player. The last 20 minutes saw Everton trialist, Delron Buckley come on, but didn't make any impact. He had a few decent touches, but on this evidence, he'll be going home. Unlike big Vic, who like Ossie, came on and made an instant impact. He immediately got the ball wide right and powered his way towards the penalty area, slipped it past his man, but was cynically brought down. Then he set up a chance for Biffa, but it hit the Everton number nine's shoulder. The best move of the night saw Leon hit a pin point cross to Vic, who deftly laid it back for Harry Hill to crash a half volley, but it was well saved. Victor left the field to his name being sung to the Black Lace song "Lets all do the Conga." Biffa left the pitch thinking. "I better get cracking here or this fella will take my place." Moyesy takes his new look Everton side to Deepdale tonight as the Blues face Preston in John McKenna's Testimonial match. Moyesy was happy to oblige McKenna's request of Everton facing Preston, and it is a player Moyesy thought about signing for the Blues on several occasions. With the high temperatures in the North West this week, Moyesy has made it clear that he will give as many players 45 minutes as he can. Tim Howard has joined up with the squad, and may get a start, and Biffa and AJ, could get their first pairing together. One player who will not start will again be Joleon Lescott, Moyesy deciding to not gamble with the new centre half, until he is 100%. Moyesy
says: "It is our second game. More or less everybody got
90 minutes on Saturday but we will possibly split it up a little more
in this game and give people 45 minutes or an hour. But most people
are fit and getting the work in at the moment and that is important."
