After the highs of Euro qualification last week, it would not have surprised us at all judging by past experience that Everton would have treated their last game of the season as a practice match. The players have obviously learnt from the debacle at Arsenal a few seasons ago, as they pushed the richest bunch of players on the planet all the way, and in the end it was a travesty that we never came away with all the points. AJ we knew had joined Tiny on the injury list, and with Biffa surplus to requirements, Moyesy chose to throw 18yr old Vaughny up front on his own. The boy was not phased as he gave England Captain and Chelsea hot head John Terry a torrid afternoon. Everton in my eyes were superb, as with really nothing to play for, they ran their hearts out, and pushed the West Londoners to the very brink. The first period was played mainly in the middle of the park, with the Blues best chance coming from Vaughny after good work out wide from Mikky and Phil Neville. Chelsea obviously had their chances, what else would you expect from a team chasing the shite's 63 unbeaten home game record. Drogba was the danger man, but in fairness it was nothing that Stubbsey, Joey and co. couldn't handle. The half played it self out, but the talking points were yet to come as once again Everton found themselves on the end of some shocking refereeing decisions. H-T 0-0 Everton took the game to Romans army from the off, and it took only five minutes of the second period for Everton to get their just rewards. Ossie and Mikky linked up superbly and the former slipped a majestic pass through to Vaughny who fired low past Cech to give the Blues the lead. The youngster should have made it two moments later when after great work from Arteta when he forced a great save from Cech after a blistering scissor kick volley. Chelsea pressed and seven minutes later Drogba equalised in controversial fashion after it looked like Mikky had been fouled. The man in black waved play on, and in the ensuing move Drogba fired home to give the Prem runners up their equaliser. The bench along with the players protested and Moyesy for his troubles was sent to the stands, well he climbed out of the dug out and stood in with the Chelsea fans. Worse was still to come right at the death when Faddy was adjudged to have been offside after poking one into the net, when Cech had beaten out a Harry Hill effort. Another harsh decision, but being Blues we come to expect this shit from poor biased officials, well we are a little club arn't we. I love being a Blue, don't we all, and what struck me is after Vaughny's opener, every player celebrated with him, what a team spirit. One to ponder over the next few weeks, but would a certain Mr. Barton spoil that spirit or enhance it. Their is no denying his skill, but it is his temperament that is the problem. Well that's one for the future, but for today and this season a big well done to Moyesy and the boys. As ever we have highs and lows in our nine months of fun, but we would not be without it. Roll on August. Starman goes to Vaughny, who got one, nearly got two, and give Terry a torrid afternoon. Notable mentions to Ossie and Manny who were superb in the middle. Oh, its a Grand Old Team to play for,a nd its a Grand Old Team to support, and if you know your history........................ F-T 1-1

Moyesy
says:
"
Jose Mourinho has only lost one game in his whole career at home so
it was always going to be a tough ask. It's disappointing, we thought
we were going to finish fifth. We were incensed by the decision not
to award a foul against Paulo Ferreira in the build-up to their goal
on Mikel Arteta. It was a terrible decision and it was wrong. You have
to work really hard for what you get at Chelsea and Petr Cech made a
great save when we were 1-0 up. But we played really well today. I'm
really proud of how they have performed and how they have improved,
and as a group they have been fantastic. It is important for a club
like Everton to be in Europe and we are proud of the fact it has happened.
It has not happened that much in times gone by." |

What Do you think The Score Will be? How Will the game pan out? Who Will Score the goals? e-mail info@bluekipper.com before the match. Keep it short and to the point. * Everton to nick it 1-0, fernandes at 25/1 with hills to score late on. COYB. Grego IOM * We always halt records. 2-0 to the Mighty Blues, Fernandes cracker and Mikky pen. Sidwell, Manny and Nugs to sign, and Barton to join us if he pays his own transfer fee. Am I sleep-typing ???? Aitch, Cumbria * 1-1 Vaughan in the first 10 minutes, we survive constant pressure but concede in the final 5 minutes to a fat Frank miscued shot. Thereby costing me 50 notes as Spurs finish above us ! Gutted. Adam Poole * A dull nil each with both teams happy with a clean sheet. THE BOUNDER |

Joey Yobo has travelled with the squad even though he has been suffering all week with dodgy guts. Moyesy is hoping that his centre half can pass a fitness test and play every minute of every game in the Premiership this season. Andy Johnson as reported yesterday is out with his ankle surgery being brought forward, so Moyesy me thinks will go with five in the middle, and little Vaughny who this week celebrated his Everton Young Player Award playing alone up front. The Blues have all but qualified for Europe, but will be looking to take something from Stamford Bridge against FA Cup Finalist Chelski, who will no doubt rest a few of their big name stars. If we are to get something from the West London outfit, Blues keeper Tim Howard may be called upon to keep a clean sheet, and if he does he will break Neville Southall's record of twenty odd years of most clean sheets in a season. We have to go back to 1994 when a Paul Rideout strike gave Everton maximum points, so we are long overdue a win against Roman's Army. Moyesy on Joey Yobo says: "I hope he does create history because he has been off all week with food poisoning and he's only been back training today. I hope he makes it because it is a tremendous achievement for any player." Moyesy on Tim Howard says: "It would be a great achievement if he could do that. We had a chat before Christmas about how many clean sheets he would need to keep if we wanted to qualify for Europe and he has responded brilliantly. We have been pleased with the way Tim has performed this season." Everton from: Howard, Turner, Wright, Neville, Hibbert, Yobo, Lescott, Stubbs, Naysmith, Osman, Arteta, Carsley, Fernandes, vd Meyde, Vaughan, Anichebe, Beattie, McFadden, de Silva, Vidarsson. Lavo's Eleven To Start: Howard, Hibbert, Yobo, Stubbs, Lescott, Neville, Osman, Arteta, Carsley, Fernandes, Vaughan

| Lavo's Bet: Record Breaker, lets hope so. 3/1 on Betfair for Chelski not to score, lets hope so !! Get on Scooch for nil point in tonight's Borovision, serious the song's shite, its been on the radio today. Bring back Supergroup Gemini. |

Chelski will be without Andriy Shevchenko, Michael Ballack, Didier Drogba, Ricardo Carvalho, Arjen Robben and Scott Sinclair for the game, but Frank Junior and Petr Cech will be back in contention. Joe Cole will start as well according to mild mannered quiet man Jose Moanrinho. If Chelski don't lose they beat the shite's record of 63 games unbeaten at home, well here's one record I hope the shite keep. Jose The Quiet Man says: "It will be magnificent if we can finish three whole seasons without a defeat at home. And if we can win the first home game of next season we can beat the record, because it is an incredible record." Chelski From: Cech, Cudicini, Hilario, Geremi, Ferreira, Terry, Essien, A Cole, Bridge, Morais, Obi, Diarra, Makelele, Lampard, Kalou, Wright-Phillips, J Cole, Sahar. |
