With Cahill, Johnson and Howard all out, Everton left out Simon Davies, who wasn't even on the bench. Is this the end for him? Mind you United left out Scholes, Giggs, Heinze, and leading goalscorer Saha, thinking it was going to be a breeze. Everton started well and Ossie tested Van der Saar with a 25 yard drive which the keeper saved well. Everton were well up for this game and were getting men behind the ball and working very hard, which was expected. As well as the midfield players putting in a good shift, they were playing some good togger. Arteta and Osman were to the fore and well supported by Carsley, Valente and Phil Neville, who plays his best football in midfield. manure's first effort of note was a free kick from Richardson which hit the top of the bar. Rooney then headed wide. Then Stubbs had a snap shot which hit a manure defender. Beattie and McFadden were working hard and both had chances, but that bit of class was missing. Firstly McFadden shot wide when he could have done better. Beattie had a half chance but his control was shite and the chance went begging. Out of nothing manure took the lead when Carrick, who I didn't know was even playing hit a goal ward shot, which hit an Everton defender and rebounded to Ronaldo, who for once never dived and hit a crisp daisy cutter, which Wright couldn't get to. For the next 5 minutes united bossed it and looked in control. Rooney's shot was well saved by Dickie. Wright had a mixed half, handling well early on, but then smashed a loose ball straight at Richardson. The rebound could have gone in, but it went wide. Stubbsy's face was a picture. He then made two good saves and then nearly dropped a cross. Cue the Stubbs glare. Half Time manure 1 EVERTON 0 United continued as they had done in the the last ten minutes of the first half. They passed the ball about and looked dangerous. On the other hand when we did get possection we had nothing up front. The ball kept coming back at the Everton defence, who with Stubbs and Lescott were standing firm, but you just new that a second was on it's way. Evra was the man who got the second when he got on the end of a Rooney pass. The Everton fans, who had been excellent throughout the game, excelled themselves with a few choice chants at Rooney. The small brained kid took the bait and grabbed the badge in defiance to the Everton fans. Great footballer. Nothing upstairs. Two things here. 1. Wayne, your Dad and Uncle's are in the Everton end when you are being a smart arse. 2. What will the conspiracy theorists think of this? With manure 2-0 up and cruising, and with Everton having no possession in the united half, I was disappointed that Moyesy only brought on Vaughan. I would have thought Anichebe and Van der Meyde could have got a run. Just to try something different. Everton had to wait until the 40th minutes of a poor second half, before we had a go on goal. Not by a forward. Not a chance. Yobo's bullet header just cleared the bar. Everton's back two Stubbs and Lescott had sound games, the midfield after a good first half died in the second. The forwards were abysmal. This squad will never win a trophy or qualify for Europe with just an average squad. The first eleven are good, but without Cahill and Johnson, no threat on goal at all. Then united scored a third with O'shea. McFadden and Beattie must be one of the worst pairings ever to play for Everton. Beattie wanted the famous number 9 shirt. He's got it. 14 goals in 65 games. He's not worthy of it. Never mind comparing him with the legends like Dean, Sharp, Latchford etc. He couldn't tie the laces of Amokachi, Rideout, Newall, and Wilkinson. McFadden is a lightweight novelty act. Sell the two of them and get Nugent and Bent. Moyesy get your cash out in January. On a good note Joleon Lescott is a big plus and was my man of the match. Moyesy
says:
"I
didn't think we deserved that. We didn't do enough to win the game but
the players did everything we asked of them. We knew it was going to
be difficult, more difficult with the number of players out, but we
are disappointed with 3-0. We didn't think it was a game for that. James
McFadden played just behind James Beattie and I thought they did very
well. James had a chance early in the game that was very similar to
the one he got here last season. It didn't go in and in games like that
you have to take every half chance that comes your way. We are not being
clinical - that is happening in a lot of games and we need to take sure
we take our chances." |

What did you think of the match? Did Moyesy get his team selection and tactics right? e-mail info@bluekipper.com after the game. * We have a good team only when the first 11 are all fit. I had been patient with Beattie for nearly 2 seasons, and his last few performances had finally convinced me that he is not cutting it. Also, it seemed that Dickie brought bad luck to Everton whenever he was on the pitch. While rather difficult to blame him for any of the goals conceded tonight, I had a strong feeling that at least 2 could be avoided if either Nige or Howard was playing. Poor communication with defence? Poor decision-making? Or simply just coincidence? You bet ! (by the way, when will Moyes understand that Yobo is NOT a right back?!) Adolf * |

Only one,
all over the papers this morning to boot. Rooney showing his allegiance
to his team by kissing the red badge right in front of the Everton supporters.
Just like the dignified Dennis Law full of love for his ex club. Didn't
Gary Neville get a bollocking for inciting the shite fans last season,
just a thought. |

What
Do you think The Score Will be? How Will the
game pan out? Who Will Score the goals? e-mail
info@bluekipper.com before
the match. Keep it short and to the point. * I would like to think that we could get what we achieved last season at Old Trafford, but all the players picked tonight have got to give 110% effort, and after Sat at Charlton 200% Concentration. Its asking a lot to get forwards & midfield to shoot on sight, rather than what they do best try and walk the ball in, I back kipper's team I would play Victor and James Vaughan, they had more go in them when coming on at the valley,James is quite fearless and this could be the stage for him. But then its not me who picks the team, I along with 7 other season ticket holders are guests at Old Trafford tonite, with the corporate brigade I only hope United are more generous on the pitch than off it.But I've a gut feeling after them dropping two pts on sunday we might be going like lambs to the slaughter, I hope the boys give us a display we have not seen since Spurs and the shite games (CARPE DIEM) seize the day. Norman Merrill * I think it will be a 1-1 draw, i see us going ahead ( ossie a real goal this time ), then shutting the game down , but we are without a few seasoned men , and also asking the guys who haven't had game time to stand up and last the distance may be a bit too much in the end, but my heart says a 3-0 win every time. Andy Shone * I think we can grind out a draw here, 1-1. PC While moyes' is at OT he should enquire about alan smith, he can't be any worse than biffa. Paul Coles |

Three of Everton's best players this season are missing from the game at Man utd. Everton's top two scorers, Cahill and Johnson are out through injury, as is Tim Howard, who can't play, because Sir Alex won't let him. What's worrying about this is that their replacements, namely Beattie, McFadden and Wright are not up to replacing them. Everton have a good eleven, but that's it! Moyesy is doing what good managers do and speak highly of their players. Biffa and Jimmy Mac will give 100%. Will it be enough? As for Frank Spencer in the sticks. He gives most supporters the willies. Moyesy says: "Richard has played on big stages before. He is an experienced goalkeeper and it will be a great opportunity for him. When you give people opportunities you hope they step up to the mark and take it. Richard has been there before and done it, so I am not worried about him at all. I know he is looking forward to it." "We have had a couple of good results at Old Trafford but not good enough in my eyes. I want my teams to win. Any time you go to Old Trafford it is a thrill because of the challenge you will receive. You are up against maybe the best team in the country at this time. Who wouldn't want to go there. You always want to test yourself against the best and we think we have done well this season. We have not been turned over by anyone and have played well in big games so I am looking forward to seeing how this one goes." Simple Simon says: "You always enjoy going to Man United. It is a great place to play, we are looking forward to that and if we can play like we did there last year we will be happy. If you go away from home and don't lose you can be happy. But we dominated for long periods on Saturday without scoring when we were on top and you need to do that in the Premiership. But it was a reasonable start to a big week for us. Maybe we over-played a bit in the first half. The manager pointed that out to us because when you are playing well you just want to move the ball about and maybe forget you are there to score goals. But if we can keep playing like that and add that finishing touch we will be a good shot for Europe. "We are playing well and I am sure the goals will come. With Tim missing we need to share it around and I am sure we will find that killer touch. Once we get one, we will get a few." Everton from: Wright, Neville, Yobo, Stubbs, Hughes, Lescott, Valente, Osman, Arteta, Davies, Carsley, McFadden, Beattie, Anichebe, Vaughan, Weir, Ruddy. Kipper's Eleven To Start: Wright, Neville, Yobo, Lescott, Valente, Osman, Carsley, Arteta, McFadden, Vaughan, Anichebe. | Lavo's Bet: Tricky one this. Was going to go Dickie to trip up in the nets, do a double somersault, followed by a flik flak but the bookies said they could not take any bets as it was a sure fire thing. Prove me wrong and have a blinder please Dickie. Last two visits to manure have been draws, so it looks not a bad price at 3/1 on it happening again tonight. |

Currently the best team in the land, manure wait on the fitness of Saha & Ronaldo. If they are not fit they have another two Stars to come in. Ferguson on Howard: "Tim has been doing really well at Everton, which is what we hoped for. The potential has always been there because he has great elasticity, he is brave, has a good spring and is an excellent distributor of the ball. All he needed was the experience, and now he is getting it. I have spoken to David Moyes and he is delighted at how Tim has been playing. But it is certainly a possibility he could come back to us, no question about that." |
