A few shocks before kick off when the teams were announced. No Micky, no Phil Neville and Andy Pandy given a start and a chance to prove to all that he can play. It also shows how thin we are on the ground when you see we had 3 teenagers on the bench. It took a bit of time for the players of both sides to get used to the windy conditions but once they did they served up a decent game it watch. It was a brilliant Tim Howard save that got Everton going. A point blank stop from the ugly Bowyer gave us the inspiration we needed. Andy was seeing a lot of the ball on the right wing and he was tormenting the baldy left back and putting some real quality crosses over. One in particular was a what more do you want from a cross. We just needed someone to get on the end of balls he was putting. Tiny Tim would have had a field day. Andrew Johnson was giving his all as usual and he nearly opened the scoring on the half hour. He was through on goal on the right side and his right footed shot looked on its way when the pixie looking Robert Green produced an excellent stop. West Ham were causing us a few problems. Tim Howard produced another great save from the very ugly Tervez. I don't know what its going to take to get Tim from United next season but lets just hope we get the big American. Shandy was having a ball down the right side and produced the moment of the half when a fantastic bit of skill sent Etherington for an Echo and Konchesky ended up bringing him down just outside the box for a free kick. All his great work was a waste of time because Faddy tried to hit someone in the upper Gladys Street stand with his effort. Half Time EVERTON 0 West Ham 0 The Toffeemen got off to a great start going one up just five minutes into the half with a beauty from Leon. Leon was playing really well in an unusual role for him in the middle of the park. He got his reward when he smashed in a left foot volley from the edge of the box. The goal was set up by the never give up attitude from James Beattie. He chased a ball that everyone had given up on. Got the ball into the box, it was cleared to leon for him to do his thing. Happy days. The lads were given it their all. Many of them playing out of position. The very knackered Pandy left the scene on 70 minutes to give Vaughney a run out. And Leon went off to be replaced by Davie Weir. So we had Joey at right back, Biffa at right mid and Stubbsey in the middle of the park. We were all over the show like wild woman's shite. But the lads stuck at it and deserve all the credit in the world. West Ham gave us one scare in the 2nd half when Tim saved from the ugliest West Ham player Marlon Harewood. Everton wrapped the points up in the last minute when Faddy put in a great tackle in the middle of the park. Lee Carsley fed in James Vaughan and he buried his right foot effort past Green. Oh very happy days. Vaughney went on a mad run of celebration and ended having a little dance with his good mate Mark Hughes who was warming up on the side-lines. Anyway our good mate Mark got on to make his Premiership debut in the last minute for Biffa. So celebrations all round. I'm sure his Dad said he's getting the ale in when his son plays in the Prem. Oh very very happy days. My Star Man goes to Leon, who just pips Roger and Andy Van der Meyde. Full Time EVERTON 0 West Ham 0 The
game was live on Fox Soccer Channel in the States, and from the looks
of it, I was happy to be watching from the dry warmth of my apartment...
Too bad I can't be there to get p*ssed in the celebration! |

Moyesy says: "For us, that is an unbelievable result. Big credit to all the lads, we had people playing out of position and that epitomises the spirit we have here. There was a great deal of desire to keep going. Ossie has been fighting it a bit this season, but I think today he did a lot better. James Vaughan
is someone we have a lot of hope for and to get a goal when we are struggling
to get some is great. We can do better. We are far from the finished
article, but we had to change shape today with a lot of players missing,
the players deserve a lot of credit. I think we can play better, but
we got three points." (03/12/06) |

What did you think of the match? Did Moyesy get his team selection and tactics right? e-mail info@bluekipper.com after the game. * With the surprse news of Arteta and Neville missing, we had a very makeshift midfield and although West Ham put us under a lot of pressure in the first half - how many corners did they get? - we ground out a cracking result on one of the wildest days at Goodison for ages. Roger again proved that he is a genuine world class defender and was star man again. The boys put a lot of effort in and although it didn't always cone off (take a bow Mr Mac!) it was a great team performance. It was freezing on the Top Balcony!!!!!! But seeing James Vaughan seal the victory was worth the frostbite. Gaza * Great Game, Andy Van Der Meyde proved that hes got it! and as u sed tim wud of scored a hat trik! lescott was like bobby moore absolutley amazing. the best bit of the game was when stubbsy took on like 2 players in the middle of the park now that was sumthing u will see only once in your life! once again great game good win now lets do the same to pompey next week! Come on Everton! Dan Ferrie

What Do you think The Score Will be? How Will the game pan out? Who Will Score the goals? e-mail info@bluekipper.com before the match. Keep it short and to the point. *
Think we can turn on
the style on Sunday by winning 2-Nil if Arteta plays well!! Biffa
will be the star man with both goals. But I think we have to play
with a winger to get the best out of Biffa so let's give Van the man
a run out or SELL him. RAY.
KIRKBY * The Mighty Blues 2 West 'we're gonna be the next chelski' Ham Ballax 0. Jimmy Mac gets them both a free-kick and a header. Graham Johnston |

Tim's back, no not Cahill but just as important Howard. Dickie Wright will drop back to the bench after his cameo role at Old Trafford the other night. Although he can't be blamed for the defeat, Tim Howard will retake his rightful place as Everton's No 1. Tim Cahill is still out, but tantalisingly Moyesy has said AJ may have an outside chance of making it, but me thinks he will not be risked and the gaffer will have to look at who he starts up front. Moyesy side should have a familiar looking midfield, only because we don't have many options there at present. Phil Neville should partner Harry Hill in the middle, and Moyesy's poser will be, who will be the two front men. Biffa and Jimmy, Biffa and Vaughany, Vaughany and Jimmy, Vaughany and Big Vic, Big Vic and Jimmy, Big Vic and Vaughany, Biffa and Vaughany, no shit I have had that one, you get the picture. I think he will go Biffa and Jimmy with the two youngsters waiting in the wings. If it is not however going according to plan, I hope he gives the youngsters more than twenty minutes, so we can see what they can do, remember they have both scored in top flight footy for the Blues. Simple may be out due to personal reasons, so that may leave a position on the bench for Andy Van who hopefully will come on at some point to fire the bullets over for Biffa and Jimmy, Biffa and Vaughany, Vaughany and Jimmy, Vaughany and Big Vic, Big Vic and Jimmy, Big Vic and Vaughany, you get the picture again. Moyesy
says: "I couldn't tell you if Andy is available.
It will be last minute if he is. We have to be very careful with him
to avoid any further damage, but he is not too bad. He has a chance,
but I'm not quite sure how big a chance it will be. I won't take risks
if I think it is unnecessary. Its tight in the table at the minute, as Everton go to avenge West Hams win at Goodison last season. He got them up for the notloB game, lets hope he can do the same for the Hammers. The Blues ar only one win from third spot, so we have to be positive and put Wednesday's hammering at manure behind us, and look at the win to push us back into the top six. Word of warning to Alan Pardew, mess with Moyesy at your peril !! Everton from: Howard, Yobo, Lescott, Stubbs, Weir, Valente, Arteta, Carsley, Osman, Davies, Neville, Beattie, McFadden, Vaughan, Anichebe, Wright, Van der Meyde. Lavo's very hopeful starting Eleven: Howard, Stubbs, Yobo, Lescott, Valente, Neville, Osman, Arteta, Carsley, Beattie, McFadden

| Lavo's Bet: No AJ, no Tiny, sooner or later Biffa has to come good, lets hope its sooner. Get on the misfiring forward to break his duck at 6/1. Ray, Ray Ray all the way on X Pop Idol Dancing on Ice Get Me Out of Here Brother to go through to the next round 2/1. Well I'm bored !! |

Danny Gabbidon misses out after injuring a hamstring in last weekend's win over Sheffield United. Defenders James Collins, Tyrone Mears and John Pantsil (who) are all in contention after recovering from injuries. Everton's nemesis Teddy Sheringham will probably start from the bench, and Argy bad boy Carlos Tevez will probably start after picking his dummy back up after he lashed it out of his pram last week. The Hammers are seven points behind the Blues and secured a 1-0 over Sheffield United last weekend. They are also in the cash after some Icelander (not Bjork) has just bought them and promised them a kings ransom of a transfer kitty. Anymore Magnus's out there for the Blues. Hammers from: Green, Kiraly, Spector, Konchesky, McCartney, Mears, Pantsil, Ferdinand, Collins, Dailly, Mullins, Mascherano, Reo-Coker, Benayoun, Bowyer, Ehterington, Tevez, Sheringham, Harewood, Zamora, Cole. |
