It took a moment of absolute brilliance from Tiny Tim to give the Blues a share of the spoils, and extend our unbeaten run to six matches. This one was far from easy though, as the Blues found themselves under the cosh for most of the match against a team who have not been turned over in their own yard, since Jose's early days. Now he has gone, and that world renowned Coach Avrim Grant (who), is now at the helm. In fairness to the Israeli, the West Londoners are playing football at last instead of boring everyone to sleep. It was only two weeks ago that they took high flying Shiitteeeh apart six nil, and no doubt their fans turned up expecting more of the same. Well they did not bank on another gutsy Blues performance, epitomised by Roger, Joey and especially Tim Howard's performances, quality defending to say the least.

The Blues ironically could have took the lead when Peanuts, miskicked right in front of Cudicini's net, and this turned out to be Everton's only effort, or non effort at the home sides goal. It was backs to the wall and Drogba should have opened up the scoring when he did exactly the same in front of the Everton net. Tim Howard moments later pulled out a top draw save to deny the same striker, and our pre match optimism was tested severely as Everton were on the back foot for most of the match. In fairness to Moyesy we had no Mikky or Leighton to call on, he stuck with the Yak up front in a 4-5-1 formation. Tiny however was stuck in the middle with Leon pushing up to support Yak, and by the half time, the Manager knew a change of tactics was needed to turn the tide in our favour.

Phil Neville and the Yak were given the second half off as Jimmy Mac and Big Vic were asked to help out. A more conventional 4-4-2 set up was adopted, but Chelski were still relentless. The watching Terry Vegetable and Malcolm McClaren must have been mightily impressed with Roger as he was an equal for Drogba, but in the seventieth minute the African danger man broke clear from his marker to bullet a header into the Everton net. Tim Howard was furious as all his and the back fours good work was lost in a split second of lost concentration.

Everton though were not bullied by it, and did not panic and set about the Londoners looking for the equalizer. As in recent weeks, and a great sign of a never say die attitude, Tiny Tim came up trumps with one of the best goals you will see by a Toffeeman for many a season, with minutes left on the clock. A mis hit Jimmy Mac shot sat up for the Aussie, and he flew himself in the air, to bicycle kick aka Dennis Tueart style (for those of you who are old enough to remember) to pull the Blues level. Off he ran to the real Blue corner of Stamford Bridge, to knock the shite out of another corner flag. The draw felt like a victory, and the point was thoroughly deserved for our brave defending throughout the match.

On that point the starman goes to Tim Howard, for a competent performance, and two breathtaking saves to keep the Blues in it. Roger, Joey, in fact all the boys at the back deserved a pat on the back, and no doubt starting today a few days off. Well played to all.

Quotes After The Game

Moyesy says: "In the first half they had one or two chances and we missed a good one too. We had to change it to get a better grip of the game and I felt we did that. We were never out of the game, we were gritty and determined. We always felt if we could hang in there we had people on the pitch who can score goals and that's what Cahill does for us. McFadden's been unfortunate not to be invovled. He made a difference in the second half with Anichebe. We had to change it, we were brave and got our rewards for it." (11/11/07)
