Exactly a week and a day on from that Derby at Goodison, and three days after a good win over Larissa and a fantastic goal from Ossie, the blue boys moved on to Pride Park and the premier league whipping boys Derby County. Before the match, we heard that Faddy wasn't gonna play, and of course Phil Neville and Tonny Hibbert were suspended after the derby against clattenberg and liverpool, so Leighton Baines and Jagielka came in at full back. We started with Yakubu up front, with Yobo (captain) and Lescott at the back, along with a midfield four of Arteta, Osman, Cahill and Piennar and Carsley in his good old holding role. And at 2:00 p.m. the game began. Cahill had a good chance with his head, and Tim Howard clung on to a fierce shot from the rams. But, it was from the quick thinking of Tim Howard, that we got our first goal. He just managed to keep the ball in and lofted it to Jags who put in a good pass to Mikel, who finished the job in style. The home fans started to get on their teams back even more, and apart from a few half chances, they weren't up to much. Everything was looking good for the toffee's at half-time, as the rams walked off to a chorus of boos. HALF-TIME: Derby 0 Everton 1 We heard that Bainsey had an injury, so Stubbs came on with Lescott going to left back. In the second half, Derby carried on poorly and everton got the second on 63 minutes, when some good work from Stevie P, and a cracking pass, meant that the Yak had a chance which he finished with ease, causing fantastic celebrations! After that, Derby had a deflected free-kick chance go just wide, but apart from that they looked like relegation fodder. Eventually the final whistle went, as the Everton fans sang away. It wasn't the prettiest performance, but it got the job done, with two goals a clean sheet and three important points, moving us up to ninth. Davey was happy after the match, and Billy Davies was fed up with being Derby manager and said the blue's deserved the points. So, after a boosting result, we move on to Kenilworth road and Luton in the cup. FULL-TIME: Derby 0 Everton 2

Moyesy says: “What we all know is when he gets through on goal he doesn’t miss and all we want him to do is score the goals he got for Portsmouth and Middlesbrough. Today he delivered with an impressive goal that took the pressure off us and a great dummy. He showed intelligence and awareness and he is a better footballer than I thought. But in Britain what we really enjoy is seeing players put in their graft. That’s part of our culture and Yakubu did that today and he got a standing ovation for us. We didn’t really look under a great deal of pressure today. We knew it would be a tough game because Derby have a good record at home but for long periods we had it under control.” Derby Boss Billy Davies says: “We’ve got no excuses today. We got beaten by the better side who showed much more quality than we showed, and in the end they fully deserved their victory." |

* I think we will just pip it 1-0 with the Blue Kangaroo scoring. Ged * 3-0 to the Blues. Yak with 2. He will come good and one for Vic. Jono * Ozzie and Mikky to score in a 2-0 win Prent |

Faddy is not feeling too good so he may absent. Also missing is Hibbo and Nev both suspended after their dismissals against the shite. I think the Jag will come into right back and Stubbsey will come back into the back four. It is great to have Tim back and I expect him to start with Victor up front. Tim Cahill says "It will be a dogged fight and there might not be that much football played. "It will be a totally different game from the Uefa Cup and that's no disrespect to Derby because we know we've got to go there and fight for the right to play our football. The European game is over now and we need to concentrate on Derby because we want the three points and we don't want to kick-start their season."We've had a couple of bad results in the Premier League so we need to pick up a win." Mikel says "We need to start winning again and on Sunday we have to win, because we want to be right at the top again, and we have to be winning away again and playing much better and we now we have more options in the team so we can carry the team a lot better. "
Maybe those games are a bit harder because they have been preparing
for the game all week and they are in trouble at the moment so they
will want to get out of there. They’re going to be really aggressive
and we are going to have to try go there and keep winning. Everton

Derby Manager Billy Davies and Moyesy are old mates but that will have to be put to one side for the game on Sunday Moyesy says: “Billy and I are good friends. We played for Scotland schoolboys together and we travelled in the car for two years together at Dunfermline.” Billy says: "He's a former team-mate, I have known him for a long time. He's a great lad. He was an excellent player with regard to his work ethic, how focused he was and his determination. We had many many good times together. I'm delighted with how well he has done so far. "I want to stuff him at the weekend and as I'm sure you can imagine he wants to stuff me, but it will be nice to see him."
