It takes two baby! It was Take 2 for the Toffeemen today as we returned to The Boleyn ground for the second time in a week, the boys having stayed in The Smoke after Wednesday night's victory and sampled the delights of Harrod's, yes Harrod's, we are now shopping in Harrod's rather than the Aldi these days. We are on a roll, going into this one it was eleven undefeated, winning nine and clean sheets in the last three Premiership games. Confidence was high, we'd gone from thinking about which of these two games against West Ham we would prefer to win to thinking we could now win them both. That was clearly in Moyesy's thinking as he named an unchanged team and once again the away end was rammed he support for the Toffeemen away from home just gets better and better, so we were all set for the challenge. The Hammers would be up for this one having been knocked out of the Carling Cup by us in midweek. This was clear from the off as they got stuck right in. Moyesy nearly blowing a gasket, his neck was bulging as he screamed at the ref pointing out that they had committed three fouls in the first minute. In the first half it was definitely a rear guard action. They had three good chances, Ashton lobbing Tim and missing the easiest whilst Tim pulled off a great save from Freddy. Parker was bossing the midfield and they were looking dangerous, at the same time we were defending well without creating anything at the other end. The Jag was having a good game as was Joey, we always knew the chance would come and sure enough it did, right on the stroke of half time. Peanuts and Ossy won the ball, Ossy threaded it out to Our Tater who crossed to the far post, Timmy was always going to win his far post header as he nodded on for The Yak, feed The Yak and he will score - sure enough he did. Cue mayhem! What a time to score, right on half-time, the whistle went and we were happy going in at the break. Yak-a-bu bu bu, he can score more than two, Yak-a-bu bu bu, he can score more than two..... Half Time West Ham 0 EVERTON 1 The second half was a different story. As expected the 'ammers attacked but Cole had gone off and whilst they saw plenty of the ball they could not break through our defence, they did not trouble Tim once in the second half. On the other hand, with them chasing the equaliser it left them open and Ossy should have sealed it midway through the half. Nev launched one and their defence just left it as Ossy raced in with just Green to beat - he blazed it over the bar! Were we going to fall for the late succor punch? The answer was no. The Yak had been booked for trying to slow down the play and having put in another good performance he was subbed with just a few minutes to go and AJ came on. As we were running the clock down we went two up in injury time. Their goalie had been pushing up into our half, Nev saw the chance to launch one to AJ, AJ outstripped Upson and with the goalie in no-man's land AJ lobbed into an empty net. Game over. So it was two wins at West Ham in four days, scoring two on both occasions, The Yak getting two of them, it takes two baby! The unbeaten run goes on, now twelve, we've won ten of them and we are up to 6th place on the same points as the shite, title contenders my arse! Moyesy reckons the derby debacle started this run off, if we had a decent ref instead of Luxemburg (funny how since then he has fucked up in nearly every game he has reffed), we would be above the vermin by now. Never mind, we'll leave that one until the New Year. Another good team performance, we knew that there would be a reaction from West Ham as they were looking for revenge, this was always going to be a tough one and the boys stood up to the challenge. We were strong at the back, Nev and Roger played well, Tim pulled off one blinding save and The Jag had his best game to date. The Yak played well again and Peanuts gets better with every game. The Blue Kipper Star Man today goes to de Joey Yobo, chilled to de core, he was a rock and put in a great performance and it is great to have him back. So it's time to get the passport out again for a trip to the red light district on Thursday, draught Pils, space cake and ladies of the night - be careful out there! The run continues, isn't it great to be a Toffee? COYB FTRS Full Time West Ham 0 EVERTON 2

| Moyesy says: "In the second half we played much better. We needed our centre halves to play well and both Joe and Jags did really well. I thought today was about mental toughness. We have got a good points total and we have got to hang in there. You feel Yak is going to score, he played really well today. He held the ball up well and let people get around him and always looked a threat. It's
great for Andrew. He is ready to play now, we have got Yak and we have
got others and I am looking forward to getting Victor and Vaughany playing
now as well." (16/12/07) |

Moyesy has kept his troops down in the smoke after their fantastic Quarter Final success against tomorrows opponents West Ham. Apart from long term absentees Bainsey and Stubbsey, Everton once again have a fully fit squad to pick from, but me thinks that Moyesy will not go far from the eleven that started against De Hammers on Wednesday night. The Blues will try and carry on their run of unbeaten matches that now stretches to eleven League and Cup games, and they do it against a side with which they have had most success against in the Premiership era. With twelve wins and forty two points against the East Londoners since the inception of the Prem back in the early 1990's, its a team we love facing. The Blues are in a rich vein of scoring form of late as well, second only to The Arse having bagged 29 Premiership goals this season. Bring back Walter Smith that's what I say !! Moyesy says: "We are going into a period where a lot of things will be decided and we need to hang on to the shirt-tails of the teams above us and not get too far away. If we are in the next round of the Uefa Cup and the Carling Cup we have to also make sure we maintain our league form. The reason we are in the Uefa Cup this year is because we finished sixth last year and we have to try and do it again." (14/12/07) Lavo's XI To Start: Howard, Neville, Yobo, Lescott, Jagielka, Carsley, Osman, Pienaar, Arteta, Cahill, Yakubu Everton from: Howard, Wessels, Hibbert, Yobo, Jagielka, Lescott, Valente, Arteta, Cahill, Carsley, Neville, Osman, Pienaar, Gravesen, McFadden, Anichebe, Vaughan, Johnson, Yakubu. Carlton Cole is struggling for tomorrow, and Dean Ashton could be De Hammers only fit striker ahead of their clash with the Blues, but loveable rouge, or should I say THUG Lee Bowyer may be fit. Curbishley says: "Everton are a very strong side and they make it difficult and work ever so hard. They were sharper and more physical than us and we know what we are up against when they come back here. That is something we have got to think about for the weekend, because they were definitely better at that than us." De
