Oh I never felt more like singing the Blues, when Everton win and the shite lose, your love babe, you have me singing the Blues. We don't get the chance to sing it that often, so over your brekky on Sunday let it rip whilst you are reading the weekend rags, gloating over our win and their loss.

Well enough of that and back to reality, as the Blues fortuitously grabbed their first three home points of the season when with four minutes to go Louis Saha bulleted his header into the back of the onion bag. The Blues were poor, and like notloB on Wednesday evening a late header gave us the spoils in a lack lustre affair. Moyesy's only change from the notloB win was to drop Louis Saha to the bench and to bring back in Tiny who passed a fitness test on Saturday morning. So it was off to the pub and the ungodly hour of eleven in the morning, sensing that this could be the day, the first day of November that we could get a Goodison win.

The highlight of a drab affair in the first period was Maro Felliani hitting the Street End post, and watching Jogger clutch his heart and go mental after he had a tenner on him at 12/1 for the first goal. The other big highlight was myself, Kipper and Jogger wave at our mate Roy in the Main Stand after we started playing a game of spot our mates in the other part of the crowd. We also spotted Steve Battle, Peter, Moff and young Alex for the record. This goes to show how enthralling the match was as we sensed another nervy day at Goodison.

Fulham's main threat came from AJ, and it was nice to see the reception afforded to him and Simple Simon Davies. Two players who tried but failed to make the Goodison grade, but their efforts were duly noted by the Blues faithful.

Half Time: EVERTON 0 Fulham 0

The second period was no better, probably even worse, as Fulham sensed a first Premiership victory on Merseyside. Jimmy Bullard (don't you just love him) came close with a free kick, and one time Everton target Zolton Gera hit the upright with a free header from ten yards out. Moyesy had to act, and startled everyone in Goodison with his substitutions. Felliani who was having one of his better games, made way for Louis Saha, and Big Vic and Vaughny came on for Peanuts and The Yak. The Blues went route one, and in fairness to Moyesy it paid off when a superb ball in from Ossie was met with power from Louis Saha to give the Blues the lead late late on.

Still with four minutes on the clock plus injury time, we never felt safe, and Fulham went route one themselves, but Starman Phil Jagielka held his back four strong, to see the game out and give the Blues three Goodison home points.

It was nervy, and the performance was poor but the win elevates the Blues into seventh spot, a position we should better with games of the ilk of West Ham, Boro and Wigan to come. The confidence is creeping slowly back, the new players are settling and things are looking slightly better than of a few weeks ago, oh and did I mention that the shite lost as well. Oh I never felt more like singing the Blues ..................

Quotes After The Game

Moyesy says: "We had a few scary moments and we carried a wee bit of luck. Our passing wasn't up to the mark though and we didn't quite reach the level we are trying to attain. We kept going and we got on with the job. Fulham's away record isn't great but they've not conceded many goals. The players knew that, kept going and we got the goal in the last couple of minutes.

The three boys who came on I thought made a difference. Louis, Victor and Vaughany freshened it up and gave us a bit of life. I hope the goal will lift Louis. That will give us more competition. You make important decisions and sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. I didn't think there was a weight on our shoulders at Goodison. Maybe there was, maybe I didn't notice it. We've won so many games at Goodison in the last few seasons, why would we be worried about our form here? I agree that we'd not won here this season but I've no doubt come the end of the season we'll win a lot of games here". (01/11/08)

* Spotted Yakubu gettin felt up by pantsil when we had a corner in the first half. Paul Turner

* The twenty or so Father Xmas look alike's in the Family Section. What was that all about.

* Jimmy Bullard doing what he does best, putting a smile on everyone's face. After the ref told him to move the ball for a free kick, he carried on walking with the ball till he was off the pitch, to the amusement and applause of the Street End.

Scores On The Doors

What Do You Think The Score Will Be? e-mail info@bluekipper.com

* Great result on Wednesday despite a poor performance. Just as tough this one. On paper they have a decent team and I fully expected them to be much higher up the table ( a bit like us! ). If we can keep a clean sheet again we will win, as we will definitely score. I am going for the Yak to end his current poor run with 2 goals today, hopefully all AJ will get today will be a decent reception and like another former blue will go home after a poor performance. COYB! Oz Blue

* Everton to win 3-1. Hat-trick for The Yak. AJ for them. Bill

* Hard 1-1 draw. Yak scores a late equaliser. Steve. M.

Everton Team News

Tim Cahill will have a fitness tests this morning. The Aussie international is struggling with a foot problem he picked up while with Australia last month. Leon Osman suffered a dead leg at Bolton and will be checked out ahead of today’s game, while Nuno Valente is a doubt with a knee injury.

Moyesy says: “Tim has a foot injury, the pad of his foot. He was doubtful with it in midweek, and he was sore afterwards despite playing only 25 minutes. It’s worrying because he has picked up another injury while away with Australia.” 8.00am. (01/11/08)

Stick with a winning team, that's what me 'arl fella' used to say, well he didn't really, he used to say things like, you drunken little shite, clean that mess up before yer ma see's it. Sorry about that just transgressed to the past there. No stick with a winning side is what keeps players on their toes, and I hope Moyesy does just that tomorrow after a hard fought win against notloB on Wednesday evening. Moyesy has doubts with Tiny and Ossie, but both are expected to make the squad.

The Blues welcome Fulham to Goodison, well they might, but I won't as I hate them and would not shed a tear if they went down. Nigel Havers and Al Fayed that's all I will say, the West London arses. Fulham are that side though that we beat at home, but always lose away to. Lets hope the home bit rings true and we record our first back to back wins this season, and come to think about it our first home win of the season. Tim Howard kept his first clean sheet since the Suez Crisis against notloB, but Blues old boy Andy Johnson found his scoring boots against Wigan in midweek. We have a worrying record of only picking up just two points from a last possible twenty available against London clubs since a two nil victory over West Ham at Upton Park back in December 2007, boring but true. Feel good about this one, home win at last. COYB.

Moyesy says: I was very nervous – joining a new club. Coming from Preston, I was relatively unknown at the time. But getting off to a good start was really good and the reception I got from the fans was tremendous. We’re getting better. I can’t say it’s where I’d hope we’d be at this point in the season, I hoped we’d be much higher.

But I have to say that during the summer I recognised that we would be in this situation at the start because of the players that wouldn’t be available. But we’ve started to get back to full fitness now and started to play a little better. There were glimpses in the opening 20 minutes at Bolton that we were getting back to normal.

It was rocking at Goodison on Saturday against Man United. It’s amazing what a good old fashioned tackle does sometimes, as well as the closing down and tackling. The supporters played a big part in the team getting the result it did." (31/10/08)

Maro says: "The aims and targets are the same as when I first signed. Make progress, help the team to progress up the table and win as many games as you possibly can. We're working very well as a group of players now so let's hope we continue to get victories. We’ll certainly keep working hard to do so.

For now things are going great. When you're young and it's your first transfer and you're going to a Club you don’t know anything about, it's tough. Things were difficult to start off but as each week has gone by I've been getting used to things. You just try to settle in as quickly as possible. "

Lavo's Best Bet

* Jesus The Yak is emptying me out this season quicker than a dose of salts. Maybe I should do the Fellianometer after our Belgian record signing has started scoring for fun of late.

No stick with the Yak, and with him not finding the onion bag of late, he has gone out to 5/1 for the first goal so my tenner if it wins will pull us back to even money. He is due one, so hopefully he will repeat his hat trick scoring feat against tomorrows opposition again.

Louis Saha is 2/1 to net at any time, stick with it, he day will come to. (31/10/08)

About The Opposition

Mixed emotions no doubt for some Blues tomorrow as Andy Johnson returns with his new Fulham side to Goodison Park. AJ's time at The Blues was the proverbial roller coaster, but I for one will get on my feet and applaud the boy onto the park (and I hope we all do), for if nothing else that glorious day back in September 2006.

Moyesy says: "I hear that Andy has been told not to kiss the badge, but I don't think he is that sort of player anyway, it is not something he would do. AJ had probably the best period of his career so far at Everton, and he will be thinking about that. But does it really matter how he celebrates? Whether we can stop people celebrating goals I don't know. You used to just put your hands above your head and run away, but things have changed. People read too much into things like that."

Andy did a terrific job for us, I would always have him in my side. I enjoyed having him in my team and he was good for us. The period he had here, when he looks back at the end of his career, he will maybe see as one of the high points. He has been missed. He gave us something that is hard to get, but he's gone now and we have all moved on. I am pleased he has got his 100th goal now, as long as he doesn't score against us I will be happy. But it makes no difference to me whether players kiss the badge or not. Andy did well here, and players do what they do to celebrate, there's nothing wrong with it. How to stop him is something else. He is a difficult player to contain on form."

Fulham after a bright start including a home win over the Arse, are heading back to the bottom half of the table, and they have doubts over Seol Ki-Hyeon and Defender Toni Kallio. Apart from those two household names, they will be at full strength which means midfielder cum everyone's favourite player Jimmy Bullard, and ex red shite Danny Murgatroid will be available

Fulham (from): Schwarzer, Pantsil, Hughes, Hangeland, Konchesky, Davies, Bullard, Murphy, Gera, Zamora, Johnson, Zuberbuhler, Nevland, Gray, Dempsey, Andreasen, Kallio, Baird.

Great Day

Roy Hodgson says: "We have not had the best results away at Everton in the past but I have not yet been to Goodison Park with Fulham.

Although Everton have not had the best of starts this season they have quality players and it is a tough ask. We have to try and build on the confidence that our last three results have given us." (31/10/08)
