The twenty
fifth of April 2007
The greatest of the ALL is called to heaven.
From when I was a kid to the present day
Blues would rave about the Bally way.
Covering
every inch of the lush green grass
Hard in the tackle, sublime in the pass
Always
playing with fire burning in his heart
Whether Liverpool or United he’d tear them apart
Those little
white boots running and running for miles
The fans on the terraces all full of smiles,
World cup
winner, you could see how proud
The greatest of them ALL would yell the crowd.
A champion
in seventy with the School of Science
He would not take defeat, such defiance
Even when
He moved on He was held in esteem
The greatest of them ALL the Blues had seen
He made
no secret of His love for the Blues
Just the mention of Everton would light that fuse
He was
looking so good just a few weeks ago
What was to happen we just did not know
Now at
peace with His wife and passed Blues
The world is poorer for this terrible news
The greatest
of them ALL the old school would say
Oh if only I’d seen Him more at play
But that
doesn’t matter I hear them call
Because He was the greatest, Little Curly ALAN BALL
