Toffee Lady dancing to Z-Cars

> Make sure thats the last time we have to enjure that rediculous version of Z-Cars. There has been games in the past when Z Cars has been the only enjoyable moment. p.s any tune when we score is a farce and hoping we've seen the end of that crazy idea. Gary Bloch. (21/01/03)

> SACRILAGE!!!!!! I haven't supported the Blues since 1953 to let them mess with our history! Get it back or organise a boycott of official EFC events. Dave Evans (Cornwall). (21/01/03)

> Couldn't agree more. As we walked away from Goodison after the Mackems game, the only negative comments were about the missing drum roll as the boys ran out. Mrsdrudge. (21/01/03)

> I am travelling to the Leeds game from Ireland with my cousin who's also a lifelong Evertonian. One of the highlights of the weekend is always when the team arrives onto the pitch to the Z-cars tune. It would be a disgrace if the sub-standard version which was played against Sunderland was allowed to continue. Keep up the good work.
Regards, Owen Delaney. Lifelong Evertonian. (21/01/03)

> Was that what it was on Saturday, I thought they had a second song playing at the same time and just forgot to take it off. If it is a new version of Z-Cars then it was awful and they can file it in the same place they filed that "Blue Moon Bloody Rising". Z-Cars, as you say, is one of the highlights of going the game. The first day of the season, a summer without Goodison Park, and when that drum roll starts you know the ride has begun again, that's when the crowd rise as one, the noise bursts your eardrums and the hairs are not only standing up on the back of your neck but actually marching down your spin.
BRING BACK THE ORIGINAL Z-CARS NOW
You cannot alter things that are this special, P. Johnson found this out quickly enough, don't you learn? COYB.

> Although the Z Cars tune shouldnt be touched I reckon we could update our music in other places. I think players could have signature tunes which could be played when they do something good ie.score a goal, make a good tackle or save. Although a bit Yankish this would boost the moral of the player and crowd and could be the songs we sing of our favourite players.
the damster. (21/01/03)

>
THAT NEW REMIX IS CRAP TELL THEM TO PUT THE OLD ONE BACK ON. Steve Morris. (21/01/03)

> I completely agree. Leave our tune alone. There was a piece in the programme about the tune called "the People's Tune" and they change it at the same match! I also don't like the way they show the players in the tunnel so you know they are on their way before Z cars starts. That first drum beat should be the first time we know our boys are on the way. Great site. Kopites are gobshites. John O'Donnell. (21/01/03)

> Personally, I've asked for the traditional Z-Cars tune to be played at my funeral whenever that may be - hopefully in a few decades time as I'm only 42. But we all know life isn't vertain - whatever - I want the traditional one that is played at Goodison, not some semi original one. Like you I agree, some things should never change!!!!! Froddie. (21/01/03)

> You are spot on about Z - cars, they tried a couple of years ago to mess about with the tunes but that was during Johnsons era. I don't know what Bill Kenwright thought of the new tune but we as Evertonians want our Z - cars blaring out not some second rate version. RGDS. Martin Dunne, Broadgreen. (21/01/03)
