Did you witness an assault at Wolves?

On Saturday 1st May 2004, after the Wolves v Everton match at the away coach park in Wolverhampton, an Evertonian, was hit in the face by a police officer with a Baton. The attack was totally unprovoked.

He spent over two hours in custody with blood on his face & clothes without treatment. He was in agony & felt nauseous. He was not given emergency treatment until 3 hours after the assault. At the hospital he was told if he accepted a caution, he would be released. He refused and told the police he was going to press charges. He was then taken back to the police station & left until after midnight when only then was he arrested and charged with affray. Today he had further x-rays & scans on his face to see if there is any lasting damage to his eye. He will have an operation on his face as soon as possible. He has suffered a depressed fracture of his cheek bone and has facial cuts. The doctor said he was lucky to still see out of his eye.

There were 100's of Everton fans in the coach car park after the game. Did anyone witness this assault at the coach car park? If so please e-mail bluekipper.com and we will send your details to the solicitor dealing with the case. (03/05/04)
