For the second time since it was erected, Dixie Dean's Statue outside Goodison has been daubed with red paint. The Club although condemning the action has not pointed the finger at the pinkies.
Ian Ross, Everton's head of corporate affairs and PR, says: "This is a disgusting and disrespectful act. I know that all right-thinking lovers of football in this city - be they blue or be they red - will condemn this piece of sick vandalism. It would be wrong for us to opt for a knee-jerk response and simply blame Liverpool supporters because true Liverpool supporters - that's 99.9% of them - would never dream of doing such a thing."

We do point the finger. This was done by so called redshite fans. People will know who did this. We appeal to the 99.9% of them to tell the police, who did this. Somehow, we don't think that will happen. (22/12/02)
