* Who cares why he went? He is just another in a long list of fxxx ups ,obviously we are in deeper soup than even the cynical fans thought. Can only think the small minded lily livered bunch at the top pissed him off ...............I admire Bill K but if he cant do it ,its almost making it worse trying with half the backing required. Maybe what Gregg says is true.......... true blue holding does efc up like a kipper and there needs to be radical change and quick !! As it is ,looks like Wayne has to go and we will have an even worse side than last season !! Unbelievable. Pete - 1970s blue !! (28/07/04) *
Personally I think that Rooney has told Birchey that he is leaving and
does not want a backlash from the fans to thinking he is responsible for
selling him, so he has cut himself loose from this awful mess were in. * Trevor Birch was spotted with Paul " i'll kook after yer Wayne " Stretford at a check in desk in Manchester airport on a flight bound for Moscow via London and changing at Madrid , when approached by inqusitive Everton supporting security gaurd, the pair of wankers coughed, turned bright red, turned away from one another and shuffled through the boarding gate and was heard to mutter "This will be the end of me, fuckin blue nose bastard security" several times....it's true. valium joe. (28/07/04) * I understand that he was head hunted by a bank and a better offer was on the table. Dave Barlow. (28/07/04) * This is probably better than some of the stuff the tabloids would come up with - He was a mole planted by Man United and the media, collectively known as the Man United Media Complex. His mission was to offer such a highly paid contract to Rooney that even if he said yes the club would not be able to pay him and so would have to sell. At the same time he's deliberately bungled transfers on Everton's behalf to leave them panicking at the end of the season making the sale of Rooney the more and more obvious answer to being able to bring in new talent and get rid of the crap as Moyes promised last season. Agent Birch obviously considered his mission almost complete. Tucky. (28/07/04) * I may not have got a better idea than those already stated, but I would like to add the following possible reason to his resignation: 6. He wanted to cash in on Wayne Rooney. I love your website, keep up the good work!!! Regards, Thor E. Sørensen. (18/07/04) * He found out that Rooney will be leaving the club this summer. Jaybo. (18/07/04) * He refused to play a starring role in Kenwrights' new blockbuster. Mediciny. (18/07/04) * I think Birch has left because rooney wont sign or the boardroom is a mess. Stebo. (18/07/04) * I'm convinced he re-signed after the embarrassing lily savage bid. it was probably the most ridiculous deal ever offered in everton's history and made us the laughing stock of the premiership. i mean the club has enjoyed more years of top flight status than any other and we offer to pay brum depending on premiership survival by the end of 2007-8. the shite have had a good laugh about our bid and i reckon he has had a mouthful of someone about it. Edward Reilly. (18/07/04) * How about this? The club isn't in a worse state than Leeds, but soon will be if the people with the cash to put it right, (Step forward Grantchester and Gregg), won't put their hands in their pockets. I'm as aware as we all are that football's a black hole, but if you don't like it get the hell out and let someone who cares enough to spend some money have a go. Either that or Birch just wasn't happy about the 'fourth grace'... Rory O'Keeffe. (18/07/04) * Mabye he proposed selling Rooney and the bored said no way and he was so pissed off he left. Michael. (18/07/04) * Maybe he wanted to sell Rooney and the board didnt. Maybe he was scared that Mo was gunning for him. Maybe he just thought, fuck this, Id rather spend the rest of my life sunning it up in trouble free Barbados. Maybe he realised we are a fucking joke at the moment. Maybe he never really signed for us and was another target we went for and didnt get. Maybe he never really existed like the 7 million for Smith. I have never felt so fucking low and its all because of a shocking board. Please Mr Gregg, do something before its too late. Maybe Mr Gregg is doing something and its put Birch's nose out of joint. But the guaranteed thing is that the national press will again have the ammunition to slaughter us and bring yet more shame and despair on Everton fans !!! Cheers Gaz. (18/07/04) * MAYBE BIRCH HAS JUST SEEN THE BOOKS AND FOUND OUT WE ARE IN A WORSE STATE THAN HE FIRST THOUGHT. JOHN SOUTHPORT. (17/07/04) * He was Redshite no backbone!! Kevan Hunt. (17/07/04) * We are fucked! Jesus H Christ. (17/07/04) * Personally I think this had something to do with the Wayne Rooney saga! He’s been known in the past to want clubs he’s been at to sell their main assets in order to gain some money…perhaps he strongly suggested the sale of Mr Rooney is the only way the club can move forward…to which Moyes and Kenwright told him to naff off? Toffee Man Dan. (17/07/04) * He resigned because he thought the only way out of the predicament we are in is to sell Wayne Rooney. Moyesy obviously wants Wayne to stay so "Out you go Birchy". Carl Rimmer. (17/07/04) * Birch is a money man. The only way to 'save' EFC is to have a joint stadium; get Ferguson off the books and sell Rooney. All of this is too much for the Board in general and Kenwright in particular. Birch sees EFC are not prepared to take the necessary steps and so he's off. JCM. (17/07/04) * May be it's because he's ex redshite? I'm thinking of applying for the job, I'm sure I could do better than either of the last two muppets!! Once A Blue always A Blue. Nil Satis Nisi Optimum. Evertonians are born not manufactured, we did not choose we are chosen, Those who understand need no explanation, those that don’t, don’t matter. Chris Cheetham. (17/07/04) * He wanted hard decisions to be made about who to sell to generate finance but others cannot see what may have to be pragmatic an/or practical because they get too emotional. Ken Finch. (17/07/04) * Could it be that they have sold Wayne???? Either way we are up sh*t street!! Neal Moran. (17/07/04) * What's the point in us speculating let the scum press do that cos they are gonna have a field day with this. EfC what is Happening??? Regards, David Stranack. (17/07/04) * Maybe its because he understands business, unlike Blue Bill and can't suffer the idiots at our much loved club any longer! Neil Tompsett. (17/07/04) * More good summer news for us Blues as now the man at the helm departs... Sadly my gut feeling is that he sees the job as just too big and he can’t be bothered basically !! We must have SERIOUS internal problems that he has found.. This pre planned 2 week holiday also smells a bit suspect !! What kind of commitment is that to a new job to up and leave for two weeks after just joining... He just couldn’t be arsed coming back could he !! It will get worse though, I reckon he’ll sell his story to a paper on what a bad state we are in and how we are destined for doom... Come on Everton, lets turn all this bad news on its head and come together and show all those doubters that we are the pride of merseyside ! Rich Flaherty. (17/07/04) What Do You Think?
