That Hurt
Rooney
has gone so we will just have to get those 9 goals from somwhere else
this season. Gary (02/09/04)
Utter
Crap
I know
we are in a state of shock and looking to blame anyone. However, having
read the crap emanating from so called Everton fans it beggars belief.
ManUre have not got Rooney on the cheap. 20M plus for a teenager is the
biggest deal ever in football for one so young. If he is as great as we
all think then why weren't the foreign clubs & Chelsea, Arsenal after
him. Do they know something we don't. You also seem to have short memories.
Everton pushed thru' last year that transfer payments for players could
be paid over the life of the player's contract, no change here then. Given
Rooney's antics over the last few months, off the pitch, I think this
is a great deal for the club. He can now squander his new found wealth,
Stretford can live off his immoral earnings until he finds another young
mug. Whilst I feel sorry for the lad I hope he ends up in the gutter.
Maybe then football will wake up to the fact that agents are the cancer
in football & need eradicating.
Blame BlueBill & Gregg all you want but think on this if the rumours
surrounding both of their roles in this sorry saga were true do you think
Moyes would not have walked. I don't often agree with MBE but he was right
when he quoted Strachan off Football Focus in that Rooney was always going
to leave once Stretford got his claws in. Look how long he took to sign
his professional contract once he moved agents.
BlueBill & Gregg both now realise things have to change let's give
them the chance to prove it. Plymouth Steve (02/09/04)
Good Deal
I think
Blue Bill has in the long term done a good deal for Everton Football club.
Who would trust that board anyway with an immediate cash injection of
£23million? Everton will come out the better from this transfer
as the mentality of Moysey and the new dogs of war will come out fighting
and make them stronger while everyone else appears to be wanting to knock
us down.
The whole Rooney saga needs to be buried. He is an unproven club player
who wasn't our best player or best young player of last season despite
the crap we had to put up with. It would appear that the rose tinted spectacles
of some saw Rooney as this great local lad with fantastic football skills
- but how many good games did he actually play for Everton? He is still
best remembered for someone who scored a goal against an ageing pony wearing
goalkeeper.
The main thing I now worry about is the future players we can attract
and who we can keep. Thomas Gravesen (unfortunately also under the proActive
management) looks like he will leave unless we can attract some players
in the January transfer window - unless by then of course it is too late.
I also note that Francis Jeffers and former future Everton midfielder
Sean Davis is under the same management!! Lets face it we could do without
associating ourselves with them anymore especially after some poor management
of making a deal with the Sun - this will soon be increased anger when
a new book is released by a writer in the Sun about our former Boywonder.
She was quoted as saying yesterday on TalkSport that it would be best
for the Everton Football Club to sell Rooney, what right does anyone from
that scum have of telling us what is best.
Let this time over the international break be our mourning period and
get back behind the blues as we always do. We don't need Wayne - the biggest
asset of the peoples club is the fans. The only ones who will ever be
ONCE A BLUE ALWAYS A BLUE. Clair (02/09/04)
Cup
Scenario
£10M
now, £10M Next year, with £7m depending on Man Ure's performance's
over the coming season. You're having a fucking laugh Kenwright. Basically
you are hoping that them fucking Manc scumbags sweep the board so we get
the rest of the readies. You are a joke man. Listen 'ere bonehead. You
said yourself back in June that the boy was worth £50m and you letting
him go for what is going to be probably less than half of that because
Arsenal are going to take some stopping. There's £500k down the
pisser.
Here's a scenario for you "Blue Bill".
Cup Final Day, May 2005. Everton v Man Ure. Do you want the blues to win
for your love of the club. Or the dirty mancs to win so they can pay up.
Do us a favour Kenwright and fuck off. Graeme (02/09/04)
MBE
Right
Not
a good day, but MBE has it right. A combination of the facts of life and
a sport where overpaid plaster's mates who happen to be gifted with a
ball at their feet are controlled by second hand vacuum seller (apologies
to plaster's mates and vacuum sellers). Football has buckets of money
and what does buckets of money attract?
Stretford (appropriate name) never had any intention that Rooney would
resign and spent his time driving a wedge between the ex Boy Wonder and
the club and supporters, David Moyse played him out right accomodating
Radzinski for too long. He then, quite rightly, got fed up with Rooney's
moody attitude. The kid's talent was so big that in a club in the dire
straights ours is in it was like having a Formula 1 engine in an old Capri.
Sure the deals on the drip, but what you expect to get and get can be
very different (Owen) and the 25% sell on (if true) will probably mean
that we make more than Man Ure over the next six years.
The good news is that Utd are a club on the way down, Ferguson's not far
away from being past it and he's going to have more trouble than he knows
managing Wayne and his talents.
The real issue is not the money or Rooney but whether we can use it sensibly
to run the club as a sensible, professional business -that's the future.
The base is not solid and it needs overhauling if the money is to be used
wisely.
On fire Rooney was dynamite. Pissed off he was detrimental to the team
and Moyses' ability to motivate.
Wish him well, welcome him back when he comes, support the club, and sit
back and watch Utd disintergrate before the kid goes to Spain or Italy.

I
Loved Them Once
Theres
a great line in The Simpsons, Homer takes the family to watch an Isotopes
games and after one pitch he leaves and waits outside for the family,
Lisa asks him why he hates the Isotopes so much, his reply just sums up
my mood for the last two years, "Because I loved them once and they
broke my heart!" Im only 18 and the only success, that i can remember,
is twice surviving relegation on the last day and a F.A Cup win in 1995.
people say that good times out weigh the bad...in 18yrs the good times
are surviving relegation??? For a club like this its a sad sad time, and
now the saviour, a lad 2weeks older than me, has left for next to nothing
(im looking at the short term, which lets face it the board should be
doing). I cant blame him I've had no good times to remember and neither
would he, but the least he could have done was to leave long before the
deadline so Mr Moyes had time to rebuild his squad. As I 've said this
"great" club has broken my heart once again and i don't know
how much more it can take! ONCE A BLUE ALWAYS A BLUE!, Mike Bates

He
Was Our Superstar
Id
like to go over a few of the opinions which have cropped up.
1) I've heard some fans now saying he was'nt THAT good. FACT: Rooney WAS
THAT good.He along with Thierry Henry were the only players who could
have you on the edge of your seat whenever he was on the ball.Yes,he never
played as well often enough but some of the comments stating he was'nt
as good as all Evertonians know he is, is ridiculous. This is just ONE
of the reasons why we hurting this morning because we all believed he
was OUR superstar .
2) Rooney himself
stated 'HE DID NOT WANT TO PLAY FOR EVERTON FOTBALL CLUB'. As a supposed
'True Blue' and one of 'US',this hurts us all immensely but my feeling
is that ANYBODY regardless of their talent should be out on their ear
once those immortal words are spoken,Rooney included.
3) All this graffiti
being daubed all over the goodison walls is achieving nothing. It's all
good and well being upset but to do it on OUR own stadium is particularly
daft.
4) If EFC had not
been grossly mismanaged at boardroom level over the last 15 years, this
day would never have come.We are an absolute shambles. One PR disaster
after another, ground moves that had no chance of getting off the ground, chaos
whenever it comes to selling tickets (who remembers the farce of the 1995
cup final tickets!) and an apparent knack of throwing our money away on
silly contracts to players past their prime. If Everton Football Club was
a PLC , these guys at the very top would be in court for gross mismanagment
of a company.
5) Manchester United
will make that £23m (guaranteed) back within 2 years off Rooney
merchandsing. They must be absolutely laughing their tits off at us.Just
like Li Tie,Everton once again ballsed up when a clear and wonderful opportunity
to bring vast amounts of money into the club was there for the taking,we
decide to sell for a pittance and in my opinion,a tenth of what he was
worth.Over 6 years, the Rooney brand will be worth anywhere between £35-45m
worldwide to Manchester United.
6)
This sorry affair has cast a cloud over what was an excellent performance
by Everton on Monday.Osman loooks the part,Cahill looks promising,Yobo
is exceptional,Gravesen is looking more consistent (although both were
missing obviously) and the one big factor: DAVID MOYES is running the
show. What this good honest guy has endured over the last 18 months is
criminal but he has come through it all with complete dignity and honour
and HE is the voice of all Evertonians.Lets stick together, let's rally
round the players, lets rally round Moyes and let's let the world know
that we are EVERTON FC,we are the PEOPLES CLUB,and we WILL pull through
this and move forward with Moyes in charge. Paul Mullally (02/09/04)
Get
Behind The Team
I've
tried to look at this whole sorry affair both objectively and maturely,
but when it comes to our beloved blues both of these attributes go out
of the window.
How an Evertonian, I use the term loosely, can have the club's fans treated
in such a way is deplorable. I feel for the youngsters who've purchased
new shirts with his name on. Perhaps if his prick consciences him, (Freudian
slip) he'll put something from his first wage packet behind the mega store
counter, so that the kids (and some dads I suppose) can exchange their
shirts. I do live in a dream sometimes.
The lad has either been badly advised (not forgetting The Sun) or is just
plain stupid. A class snipe in tonight's Echo article by Paddy Sheenan
"by the way, Wayne, there was no need for an apostrophe in always,"
(check out the T-shirt) suggests a bit of both.
Let's all get behind Moyes' Wayneless Wonders! Billy Butterworth

Deal
Complete
Cock-up
So Rooney has finally left the building, well I for one am totally gutted.Felt
he should have stayed for at least 2 more seasons and given himself the
chance to become an Everton player of any recognition, instead of this,he
will be remembered for his so called 'Once a blue always a blue' (what
a load of crap)
But it has to be said the biggest criminals here are the board who orchestrated
this farce of a deal. The best young player possibly in the world being
sold on basically HIRE PURCHASE.
I suppose we can forget about the 20 million from Russia as we are now
without our biggest asset, and all we have to show for it NOW is 10 million
which is already owed to the Bank.
Send these muppets on the board to basic BUSINESS SCHOOL.
25 years I have been an Evertonian, and this deal leaves a sick feeling
in my stomach, this is not for the good of the club, not even for the good
of the balance sheet.IT JUST MAKES NO GOD DAMM SENSE,...financial or otherwise.
Old whiskey nosed Alex is laughing all the way to the bank. Dave

So,
we have sold the crown jewels and got, well a bit here and a bit there.
But where are we really? Will we ever know? - We deserve to know !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bill, where is our
club at?
How much debt do we
have and who do we owe it too?
Is the apparant £20
million investment in Everton real or was this just the money we expected
from selling the only hope we have had to cling onto for years?
If the investment
is real, is Grego still mulling over your proposal?, when will it be ratified.
Where did the £6/7
million that we coudn't spend before the shops closed on 31st August come
from? Where is is now?
Is there a stratagy
to solve the debt problem?, What is it?
Will we ever be in
a position where we can go out and buy a player again without turning
around and saying we are in debt again a year later?

WE ASK IS -:

WE KNOW YOU ARE BLUE

Cool

Has
the sky fallen down on Liverpool? shit all this doom and gloom over one
player! Ok before I get the abuse, the Duke was the best thing that happened
to us for decades but he's gone to ManUre and we got a shed full of money.
Lets move on and get real, the deal WAS as good as we were going to get
and we all should buy Bobby Robson a pint. If the Barcodes didnt make
an offer, Rooney would have been sold to ManUre for £15mil in January
and thats the bottom line.
We all know most if not all the money we get from the sale would go to
reduce the debt, we all know that the Gaffer tried to get more bodies
but he didnt and we got to get to January before he can buy again, perhaps
its not such a bad thing.
We have a team good enough to do damage in this League, the boys are on
a high they deserve our undying support, theres a "feel good, fuck
it lets sort it" Dogs of War attitude on the pitch, look at the fixture
list up to the New Year, theres a good 20-25 point's to be won. We will
be mid table by then and Moyesey will be dreaming of an European place.
Lets keep the faith. Wayne Wales (02/09/04)
Rooney
Saga
Wayne
Rooney may have gone to the forbidden planet and most Evertonians bemoan
the fact but my personal concern is more with the perilous state of the
squad. It is dependent on a number of elders like Stubbs/Weir/Ferguson/Campbell/Martyn,
a few live wires like Osman/McFadden/Cahill/Hibbert and a lot of also
ran's like Pistone/Carsley and one genuine star in Gravesen. Unless Bill
Kenwright can see into the future and has a January sales psychology then
by Christmas a fair proportion of the team could be crocked and the Youth
squad will be performing. Having supported Everton since the days of Hickson
and Farrell I feel more despondent now than at any time (including the
game v. Wimbledon)! Keith Farley. (02/09/04)

Wayne
what have you done?
Did
anyone here the comment on Sky Sports News last night when a reporter
asked him how does it feel to be an United player Wayne and he said "brilliant".
What has happened to this lad, standing there signing autographs chewing
his gum and looking smug I don't get it.
Then there was Ian Mcdonald from the supporters club breaking his heart
and he explained to everyone that he had spoken to Wayne's dad, Moyes
and Kenwright and that Wayne had been given the chance to say no but he
wanted to go.
Bill should have got us a better deal instead of the drip and I fear that
Moyes will leave as he wont see any of the cash. A sad, sad day for Evertonians,
the soul of the club has been ripped out, don't believe the spin- this
is it , our 9/11 , our Pearl Harbour in footballing terms. Next to Heysel
yesterday was the most significant day in club's recent history, neither
of which we had any control over. Destroyed, Gutted, But Proud to be a

Your
latest column On Wayne Rooney is an honest
and superbly written piece of work. I hope some of the fans take heed
of your words. In my 20 years + of following the blues many players have
left and while Wayne was very, very special. He is still only 1 man/player.
I'm very sad he has gone, even more disappointed that we haven't signed
anyone at the deadline, but life goes on. Lets get behind the team and
give support and passion like only WE can. cheers. John. (02/09/04)

Rooney
Saga
From
the land down under it has been a bit of a debacle in every sense of the
word! As a true blue its never nice when I see one of our own go [Jeffers(the
first time), Ball, and Rooney]. What we need to consider is the circumstances
regarding Rooney's departure.
1. He leaves it to very close to the transfer deadline to hand in his
transfer request thus leaving Everton no time at all to buy any new players.
2. Where are the Russian Millions Bill?
3. Is Paul Gregg Still investing?
4. Bill and Gregg together could have injected 35million into the club,
they could have did whatever they had to ensure the prosperity of EFC.
Yes, we are worth more than 35 million but I don't see our debt reducing
anytime
soon do I!
5. Didn't Marcus Bent score more than Wayne Rooney and Thomas Radzinski
EFC, so far you have done well without him proving that the club is always
bigger than the player. Regards Steve Nikolovski. (02/09/04)
Rooney
Well
we all don't know the truth so we should all just fuk up, he's gone lets
get over it.... maybe not cos I'm pretty pissed off just like the rest
of ya. To go with the bad feeling is the fact we get a measly $10m and
another 10 mil next year... So I guess we need to know why did Rooney
leave? I have heard that Paul Gregg told newcastle to bid 20 plus million
and he would push it at board level... I have heard Blue Bill is a cunt
and the 50k a week package offered to rooney was 17k first year 30k second
year and then 50K third and for the remaining period of the contract.......What
happened to the huge ass bid for Alan Smith, he chose Man Utd but were
was the fucking cash?? There never was any, it was all bull shit? If not
then where is Moyesy's spending money?????
I have heard that were so badly in debt that we didn't sell Rooney any
sooner cos Chang Beer wouldn't be interested in the sponsorship.. I have
heard Moyesy and Rooney didn't get on, in fact according to some reports
no one at EFC likes the bloke. So we don't know the truth so for all we
know Blue bill could have forced this transfer, banks the 10 m to pay
off the banks barking at the EFC doors and trying to push all the blame
and hate onto Rooney, remember when Jeffers and Ball were branded Judas!
Who knows what happens behind close doors.
Burch comes into the club and within 6 weeks he off... he reckons we were
so badly in debt we needed to sell Rooney and ground share with the shite...
then he fucked off....
Rooney hands in the transfer request a few days before the transfer dead
line...think of all the Rooney Merchandise that sold after Euro 2004,
who knows maybe Blue Bill and Gregg told Rooney that he was being sold,
part of the deal is that you wait til the last minute before submitting
a transfer request to boost shirt sales!!! Crazy you say but why would
Rooney say "I know the truth"? ( I really feel sorry for the
Kids with new season Rooney Shirts)
So as we don't know all the facts lets get over it, everyone has their
price...If Man Utd would have offer $200M for Rooney and you were in charge
of EFC you would sell him without even thinking about the hand painted
vest or the wonder goal against the arse.. EFC will never be the force
we were unless we get major major investment. if we don't sort something
out then the next one to leave will be Joey in the January Sales and possibly
the Grave Digger... then we will be fuked.
All I can say lads is those of you who go to the game, sing your heart
out for the lads. Forget Wayne, it's not going to help EFC chanting shit
about him, spray painting his bird's parents house. Next time he plays
against us, don't slag him off. Sing your hearts out and remind him why
he used to support EFC.
Chin up Blues. At last the Sky Hoodoo was broken. Plus Cahill looks the
business. Rico.
(02/09/04)
EFC
(MU's Merseyside supporters club) Thanks Bill
What
really hurts is that our Chairman has done a deal that ties part of our
future finances for years to come to Manchester Untied success. For instance
this season we need MU to win the Champions League, the Premiership and
the FA Cup, to get the funds to move into the transfer market. Will Red
Bill be looking to make a few extra bob by offering big screen nights
at Goodison to beam back Man U games so we as Evertonians can all rally
around and support Our Club, by cheering MU and Wayne Rooney on to greater
success in order to boost our coffers?
Perhaps we could even ask them (very nicely of course) that if they did
do the treble could they extend there open top bus tour down the M62 so
we can join in the celebrations!.
Great deal Bill we are skint, and MU are the worlds richest club and you
allow them to string a deal out for world footballs brightest young star
over 6 years! Doran. (02/09/04)

Blue Eyes - Wayne
I
have never read so much shite in all
my life regarding the fat manc traitor - he went on bad advice due to
greed and self worth. Everton football club never even got 25% of his
ability, due to Moyesy attempting to protect and nurture a young talent.
Many before have come and gone to burn out from a young age. So what do
Everton do,slowly progress his development, purposefully and meaningfully.
then what does the fat red manc traitor do - sells us up the river for
money. He cries aloud that he wanted better standard football, well England
and the premiership is sufficient now for one so young, earn £12
m over the coming years with Everton, then move. he would still be only
around 21 in couple of years to then go on and play for another 10 - 12
years at the top level.
He give us nothing and took everything for money, who do we market now
- no idols for the kids, no names for the shirts, lack of interest from
foreign public and investors and sponsors alike. ---- £27 m well
we lost that is merchandise and sponsorship alone over the coming seasons.
And to top it we lose him as well.
If he was to move, why not immediately after Euro final, get everton the
cash and allow us to bolster the squad. no not the fat red manc, all on
the last minute, and yep you guessed it no new players for us. I think
he is a disgrace to the club, and how dare he say he is disappointed with
the reaction, what the fuck does he expect - a handshake and well wishers,
not from me and the same for many a season ticket holder like me that
i have spoken to.
So take of those rose coloured specs and don't write so much bullshit
for him. This is for blue eyes and not directed at blue kipper who in
the main do a dam fine job, thanks. regards. an angry and hurt
die hard blue.

WHY
WAYNE WHY?
Bluekipper
I'm a 15yr old Season Ticket hold 4 the blues. what happened today with
Wayne Rooney i found very upsetting .I think u'll agree unless Everton
start pulling themselves together this season Wayne Rooney's career was
going nowhere but he could have at least let us try. He could have had
at least one last game this season then maybe knowing he was going to
another club the fans would have understood an gave him a standing ovation
before he went. The man is greedy ok he knows how to play football but
every teenagers dream is money. And what's all this shit about the dirty
mancs giving us the money all in pieces what the fuck the money they have
got they should give us it up front. Dommo (once a blue ALWAYS
a blue). (02/09/04)
Where
To Now?
After
such a depressing day where pen was put to paper, I looked to see if the
"brilliant" deal struck by Mr. Kenwright had immediately enabled
David Moyes to strike into the transfer market.
I sit here late into the evening checking to see if David Moyes has been
able to bring in any new faces in before the deadline. Earlier in the
day other sites ran stories "Everton close in on Dudic swoop"
& "Toffees in talks with McCarthy", but alas so far nothing.
I checked the BBC web page, today West Brom signed Japanese midfielder
Junichi Inamoto and Romania defender Cosmin Contra on loan from Atletico
Madrid. Inter Milan have loaned to Crystal Palace striker Nicola Ventola
and Uruguayan defender Gonzalo Sorondo. Portsmouth have signed Cameroon
midfielder Valery Mezague on loan from Montpellier. Southampton have completed
a £1m deal for Swedish defender Andreas Jakobsson.
Yesterday West Brom completed the £3m signing of Cardiff City striker
Rob Earnshaw and Tottenham agreed a £3m deal with Coventry for England
Under-21 centre-half Calum Davenport.
But Everton? A big fat nothing!
I think it's absurd to suggest how good the cash injection is going to
be for Everton. Why? Because it takes attention away from the fact that
between Kenwright and Gregg's inept antics over the summer, funds were
only secured by selling the club's silverware, it's investment in the
future! I mention the clubs above because even in these harsh times, somehow
their respective boards have provided the right backing, assurances and
incentives for players to sign up.
So I wonder how David Moyes feels in all this? Was it his decision in
the end to sell Rooney? What's he been handed? I haven't seen an Everton
statement guaranteeing him 100% of the transfer fee. His hands are now
tied until January anyway. Just imagine, with a few injuries along the
way, well Everton could be well in the brown stuff by then. What chance
£10 million attracting the right players to help dig us out of the
crap! I wonder if he's pondering his next move? I believe a certain Mr.
Shepherd is on the look out for a new manager! What a coup, Davey now
and Joey in the January window! It's all a nightmare!
I believe both Kenwright and Gregg should consider their positions. Everton
needs a professional set up to get us out of debt, marketable to both
investors & players, and with a new home on the horizon, not just
some elusive dream. Others have done it, you don't have to too far, just
to Bolton!
I wish Davey all the luck in holding things together. He's got the team
off to a brilliant start (I don't count The Arse, that wouldn't be fair!)
It's up to the players left to fight with "Blue Pride". It's
going to be a long and I'm sure painful road, yet with the greatest fans
in the world behind "The Peoples Club", Everton will prevail!
I'm off to bed now, still in the naive belief that tomorrow's papers will
announce some deals that had been going on all the time, but were just
missed by the media in the frenzy to cover Ferguson's pillage of Everton
F.C. Dream on! Graeme, True Blue in Devon. (02/09/04)
Everton
Bigger Than Rooney
Everton
Football Club is bigger than Wayne Rooney. It's time to rally around Moyes
and the players and push for really good season. Naomi Jones.
