Bernard Murphy

Hello boys, just a quick line to say the piece on Bernard wrote by Ian MacDonald was one of the nicest, most honest, and heartfelt of tributes. Many thanks to him, and good luck to the Murphy family. Keep up the good work on the web site boys! From Paul in the isle of man. (12/10/04)

Bernard Murphy

I would just like to say a big thank you to Ian Macdonald for once again writing an excellent article about the extended Everton family, this time regarding the tragic death of fellow blue Bernard Murphy and the resulting support given to his family by Evertonians everywhere. It just goes to show how special we are, and makes myself and other Evertonians living afar very proud to be a small part of this great institution of ours. Andreas Ekker, Everton Supporters Club Norwegian Branch. (12/10/04)

Bernard Murphy

What a moving tribute to fellow Evertonian Bernard Murphy on Blue Kipper. I trust that the Evertonians on Saturday will give an impeccable minutes silence to Ken Biggley like only True Evertonians can. RIP Bernard and Ken. Dave Rooney. fellow Evertonian. (12/10/04)

With regard to THE WORST PLAYER POLL MAY I JUST REMIND EVERYBODY THAT THESE WERE HEROES IN THEIR DAY YES EVEN BRETT. IN HIS DEFENCE I GIVE YOU ALAN BILLEY,LOOKS LIKE ROD STEWART PLAYS LIKE DENNIS LAW, UNFORTUNATLY IT WAS THE OTHER WAY ROUND. IN GOAL I GIVE YOU DREW BRAND THE FIVE NIL AT LEEDS STILL HAUNTS ME. I WON'T MENTION BAKAYOKO, AS MENTIONING ANYONE SIGNED BY MIKE WALKER IMEDIATLY WINS THE TOP TRUMPS WORST PLAYER LEAGUE. BUT NEVERTHELESS I PAYED TO SEE THEM ALL. GREAT SITE. CHEERS. LES JACKSON. Bernard Murphy

Having just read the well written article on Bernard Murphy (with a tear in my eye and a lump in my throat), I just wanted to say how proud I am of my fellow Evertonians. We are a special breed and we "never" forget our own. As they say, "English by birthright, Evertonian by divine intervention".
RIP Bernard Murphy....god bless! Ziggy

Lets Hear It For The Girls

What an outstanding start for Everton ladies, superb and what an inspiration you are. Me and the family live in Brighton and try to get to see the 'boys' team whenever we can , however, my daughter (10 year sold) is dead chuffed that that ' both' sides are doing so well and keeps pestering me to go an see the blue ladies when they play in London? Try as I can, I cannot find the venues for their games, which I would dearly love to take the kids to see, with their blue banners and new kit. Lets not patronise the women's game, particularly when they are flying the flag for Everton so proudly. Lets have their fixtures promoted with respect and lets get along to give them our support. Don't forget, Goodison has the record fro the biggest attendance at a women's game in the UK ( 1920/30's ?) The Kerr ladies, 50,000 +. respect... Denis Byrne. (12/10/04)

Extended Family

Please Post this on the site if you like, it would be much appreciated! I would like to thank everyone in Blue kipper for making our recent weekend over in Liverpool very enjoyable even though the spurs result did not go our way but that would have just been a bonus. Thanks for letting Ivan and I into that big blue family that you have in the blue kipper lounge. I must say that they were all very lovely and welcoming to us, it was much appreciated. It was as good as any irish welcome that I have ever witnessed.

Thanks again to jogger for them prints and of course sorting out our membership, that was great and it was much appreciated by both of us. Well we hope to be over again soon, after christmas i would say to cheer on the blues again through thick and thin of course and we will be in to visit the family again in the lounge! Keep up the excellent work and also the fabulous site. Blues for Ever.

Lightening Strikes Twice

I've just been flicking through an old Everton Yearbook and it fell open at the Anfield Derby page from December 2002. You remember, the one where Redshite Gerrard tried to break Gary Naysmith's leg with a two-footed lunge. And did he get a red card for it? No - not even a yellow. And who was the ref that day? You guessed it - Graham Poll. Cheers, Joe. (12/10/04)

My 1st Match

Thank you very much for finding my 1st match for me. I was fully convinced you run the best Everton web page of the lot and now you have proved it. Thanks again, you've made an ageing Evertonian very happy. Micky B. (12/10/04)

We All Stand Together

A minor set back with Spurs. We are all in this together. Let's show Rooney, Manchester United and the world that we are Evertonians. Let's close ranks and get behind our lads with everything we've got. Blue Frank. (12/10/04)

Manager of the Month

Surely Davie Moyes must be a shout in for the September Premier league 'manager of the month' award. How can we campaign on his behalf ? Regards. Ian. (12/10/04)

Charity Run - Bernard Murphy

Everton beat the redshie in the 10k and the 1/2 marathon challenges. Well done boys. Thanks to Paul Turner for the info. (15/10/04)

This Sunday, 10th October 2005,there is to be a 5K,10K and fun run in the L13 marathons. This year these runs are to be held in memory of Bernard Murphy, the Evertonian who was tragically killed outside the Walker Stadium home of Leicester City. The run starts from the Albert Dock to Sefton Park and attracted more than 5,000 runners last year and expectations are this year to beat that figure.
Nine Charities will benefit from the run. The Sunrise Fund, Leukaemia Research, Cystic Fibrosis, The Western Spirit, The Newborn Appeal, Muscular
Dystrophy, MacMillan Cancer Relief and the Meningitis Trust all worthy charities here on Merseyside.

Adding to a bit of spice on the run, contestants from the Blue half and Red half of Merseyside will try and beat each other against the clock. A given number from both sides will at the end of the run sum up the collective finishing times and with a points total a winner will be decided. Our Davey Moyes's team is already riding high above Rafael Beneath us team, so lets endorse this on Sunday till the season's end.
So come on you fit and not so fit Blues sign up ! Call 0151 233 2008 to enter.

Last week Bernard's family and friends travelled to the inquest at Leicester over the death of one of our extended family. The verdict given was
accidental death. Nicky Adams the Leicester manager looked after Bernard's family and friends for the day at the Walker Stadium. A garden of rest where Bernard fell has been made by the good people of Leicester. There are good Blues and great Blues. Bernard was a great Blue.

We Are EVERTON

The Worst Tackle Made At Goodison Park

I'm sick to the back teeth of so called pundits sayin 'Jamie is not that type'. The 'tackle' he caught Tim Cahill was without doubt the worst I've ever seen. It looked even worse when I watched the replay on TV. redshite new it was bad, as you can clearly lip read him saying to Poll: "You're not goin to send me off for that are you?" To which Poll although I never saw this must have said: "Cause not Jamie. You're not that type." When Cahill left the pitch, it also left Everton playing without it's best player. It's a pity I never saw 'Jamie' (what a tarts name) in town on Saturday night. I could have twatted him in the mush, but my mates would have said: "Cookie is not that type". This no doubt would have helped him recover from his broken nose. Cookie. (05/10/04)

Andy Gray and Gary Lineker

Have to say that whilst I agree with the comments that Kevin Latham made about Gray and Lineker and their lack of obvious enthusiasm for the blues, I can’t say that I would like them to become the apologists for the Shite that we see on every channel.

I met Gary Lineker a few years ago when he was in the next box at the Royal Albert Hall. I asked him about his time at Everton. He stated quite openly that we were the best side he ever played for and that included England and Barcelona. He was quick to point out that we didn’t win anything with him there. But he also went on to say that he didn’t want to leave and only left because we were prepared to let him go, Howard was changing the shape of the team and was happy to listen to offers. Blooblud. Happy Days

I'm made up! 16 points already - an I know it's early days but why can't we stay in that area of the table? This isn't luck and it isn't class - it's hard work and that's what got us 7th 2 years ago. If we are still up there come January, and with the money coming in, we could attract some quality players which would be welcome. Lets make it six wins in six on saturday against spurs. Come on the Blue. BlueRob. (02/10/04)

London to Goodison Park

Anybody who travels to Goodison by car leaving from London and wants someone to share the travel costs . I'm your man ! Michael MCGUIRK. (02/10/04) [michael@mcguirk65.fsnet.co.uk]

oh dear oh dear

Can we all just calm down a little ... now shrek is a great manc star as good as edwards they say, and cash is in the post with Davey's shopping list being written by every fleet street hack who was writing us off before a ball was kicked and every sleaze bag agent touting their aged piss artist foreigner no mark clients the length and breadth of goodison road, now is the time to draw a big breath and let it out slowly.....i have come out of my nightmare and god it feels good, third, yes third and not just for the day before the manc's play, we are there on merit maybe not on skill but on hard work and a team ethic which moyesy has worked hard to build, long may it continue, let moyesie buy the players he wants and we can continue let gravers be the captain and he will continue let the young lions roar and keep the big clubs away from the door because we yes we are a big club and its this fact that that the t.v pundits and fleet street used to be's forgot. Get moyesy's contract sorted now. and let us look to the bright future that we deserve.

p. srooney was fantastic for the mancs last night but when he scored there was no leap in my heart and it was just another manc player scoring another manc goal. as he looks up at the table he should ponder the fact that with a quality striker everton could win
the premiership... i wonder were we could find one of those.
thanks for the memories..remember the name...remember the shirt colour. Les Jackson. (02/10/04)

What we have lost, gained and still have

I could not look away. Forget the lingering pain and disappointment of Rooney not doing it for the Blues anymore. Get ready for the fresh pain of witnessing him do it for others. Sadly, in scoring a Champions League hat-trick less than an hour into his new 'career', some witnessed his hollow reasons for leaving Everton legitimised in front of our very eyes. We can now look forward to United's disappointment at finishing third in May when we can only marvel at our unlikely flirt with the same position in September. The contrast couldn't be starker. The deal looks worse than ever today - we have lost a jaw-dropping talent to the only bidder - and that hurts.

However, remember last season - Rooney on the books and our lowest league haul in history. Today we look, act and talk like a team and our excellent start from a similar squad must be put down to honesty, self-improvement, hard work and self-belief. Who knows how long it will last but the change is as dramatic as it is welcome. We have gained the low-cost high-return players we need at the moment. We have gained pride and confidence in Everton the team and what happens on the pitch. And we've gained that Saturday night feeling that matters us most.

What we still have is David Moyes and the fans. The last 12 months without Moyes doesn't bear thinking about. The next 12 months with Moyes fills me with optimism. Astute signings, young talent, old heads, hungry players on a shoestring. I'm sure Moyes with cash is equally astute. And he can count also on the amazing understanding, support, patience, attendance, commitment, numbers, passion and loyalty of Evertonians. We still have the best young manager and fans in the country. It might not be enough for Rooney, but I will settle for that every time.

John Pendleton. (02/10/04)

All Things Blue

Fantastic site lads, keep up the great work. For blues in Australia it is simply THE SITE to go to. Keeping us up to date and no bull shit with it, what more could you want?

First of all regarding Gray. I have wrote plenty of letters to him also. From 1997 when he used the club to get a nice new contract from Sky to his patronising comments in the numerous ghost written articles in the various papers down the years to the present in the Echo. He never has had anything nice to say. If your prepared to listen to anything the man has to say, which generally I try not to ( sky games down under don't have him co commentating, which is a pleasant relief! ) he talks about himself like some proclaimed messiah saving the club from oblivion. He then has always added that no future Everton team will achieve what the side he was in did. From bottom six side to best team in Europe in a little over eighteen months, he must have been shitting himself in the 1995-96 season, if only Royle could of had more luck and a really proven centre forward!

But who cares? if we can remain in the top six come January players will be happy to come to Goodison. I realise how difficult that is going to be, especially with Spurs, Chelsea, Newcastle and Birmingham coming up but who knows? I personally hope Moyes goes for English players or players who have had previous experience with an English club, Beattie, Ball and Parker anyone? All the best, Forever blue. (02/10/04)

Great Start

DESPITE OUR GREAT START TO THE SEASON,IT WAS GUTTING TO SEE THE BOY ROONEY BAG A HAT-TRICK ON HIS MAN URE DEBUT.OUR BOARD SHOULD HANG THIER HEADS IN SHAME FOR LETTING HIM GO AT WHAT NOW SEEMS A PATHETICALLY LOW PRICE.
WE HAD THE GREATEST TALENT FOR MANY A YEAR ON OUR BOOKS, AND YET THROUGH NOTHING SHORT OF BAD MANAGEMENT, WE NOW HAVE TO ENDURE THE ENDLESS MEDIA COVERAGE THAT WILL FOLLOW HIM.
I KNOW WE HAVE TO MOVE ON BUT LAST NIGHT BROUGHT IT HOME TO ME JUST WHAT WE HAVE LOST.
STILL,AT LEAST THE SHITE LOST! STEVE. (02/10/04)
