I would just like to say what a spirited performance by the lads against Chelsea. Tim Cahill was the embodiment of that spirit and I have been mightily impressed with his contribution since he arrived from Millwall. He has that winning mentality that seems to be instilled in all aussie sports people. I think his kind of attitude is rubbing off on the rest of the team. I for one turned my nose up when Moyes signed Martyn, Killa, Bent and Cahill. I thought we should have been aiming a bit higher but how wrong I have been. These players have all shown loyalty, commitment, skill and hard work and should be commended. Moyes has also demonstrated his skill in the transfer market. Cahill has proved a far superior purchase to the other midfielders I wanted Everton to bring in, Ferguson, Emerton, Carrick and Sean Davis who have all failed to deliver at there respective clubs (some through no fault of their own i.e. injury or not being played - Carrick). Tim has made an instant impression - CONGRATULATIONS TIM. Thanks Martin. (11/11/04) Thanks From New York I'm
writing on Friday afternoon in New York, with the Chelsea match just hours
away now, and if I learned anything from my three days in Liverpool last
month, it's that most of you are already on your way to Stamford Bridge.
I'll be rooting with you from the States, I promise. Sunny Blues Recently I was in Benidorm. Walking along the sandy beach, I heard several scouse accents, all playing footie. Noticing two lads in Everton shirts, I decided to ask them for a game. "Yeah mate. red or blue?" I told them I was a true blue and joined their side. As things turned out, they were playing reds v blues. We won the game 12-4. I scored an hat-trick, kicked sand in the eyes of a red shite, got bevvied up and built a sand castle. Happy days. Great site lads, keep it up, from Duncans pigeon. (11/11/04) Everton Supporters - Simply The Best What
great support we had on saturday I would like to thank the fella behind
me who had me in stitches with some of the songs he was singing. Like
'We're gone win the league'. At first everyone laughed, but as we all
started singing it felt great. I went home singing it all night and I
couldn't get it out of my head all weekend. We Do Trust Moyesy Kevin
Latham has it right, we do trust in DM. The last time we had a "team
of no stars" that won a few games was in the mid eighties. The media
cast that back-handed jibe when we were 13 points ahead of the rest of
English football in 1985! We are a long way from those heady days, but
we are playing good stuff and- hopefully - January will give Moyes the
chance to extend his excellent record in the transfer market. We just won't go away! What
can anyone say about what Davey Moyes & the players have achieved
so far this season? All the media, TV pundits & so-called experts
are still waiting for our inevitable slide down the league. Well I've
got news for the whole sorry bunch of them - it ain't going to happen!
I'm not sure whether losing our "One-man team" status (i:e selling
crocky fat-lad) is having such a positive effect on the squad or that
the team spirit & confidence are back with a vengeance from 2 season's
ago but something somewhere is working big-time. Quality For Europe The improvement Everton has made we love it. What has to happen now. Players bought by Moyes excellent. Next on the menu if we keep the pole position we still need players of quality if we have any chance in the coming years of maintaining a hold on Europe. Fuck did I just say that. From rags to riches its unreal. Still love the idea we are rubbing shoulders with the big spenders. It's really pissing all the other wannabes off. Thank you all for the work carried out. COYB. John Lea. (01/11/04) First Game Bloody
hell, what a game,
it was my first ever and i got in the Park End!! We didn't win, but we
didn't lose either! The atmosphere was awesome! It was great when Bent
scored for us, an the Everton crew chanted back at Like
most Bluenoses I'm pleasantly surprised that we're sitting 3rd in the
league, and even though I'm writing this before the Villa game, we'll
stay there whatever the results do today. But there are too many gobshites
out there who resent the fact that we are where we are - we've proved
too many people wrong by not scrambling at the bottom. Well, to all you
gobshites, we're there on merit. And had we beaten Spurs (which we should
have done) we'd be second now, level in fact on goal difference with the
best side in the league. Way above the redshite, way above the Mancs and
their Everton cast off. Dutch Toffees HAVE
ANY DUTCH FOOTBALLERS EVER PLAYED FOR EVERTON ? REGARDS MARK JONES.
(01/11/04) Worst XI How come no-one's mentioned Glenn Keeley in the Worst XI? I guess you had to be there at the time...unfortunately I was. John M. (01/11/04) PLEASE
PLEASE PLEASE DONT LET THE
GRAV GO.......WE MUST GET HIM 2 SIGN A NEW CONTRACT AS HE IS THE DRIVING
FORCE BEHIND THE ATTACKING FROM MIDFIELD!! IT'S ALSO IMPORTANT TO GET
YOBO ON A LONG TERM DEAL, HE WILL DEFINITELY BE THE BEST CENTRE HALF IN
THE COUNTRY GIVEN A CHANCE TO SHOW WHAT HE CAN DO.... ANYONE SEE THE PRESTON
GAME?? COOOOLD...... AS..... IIIIIICE!! (WHO THE FUCK IS RIO). Show Us Yer Tatts! Is
Gary's tatt on show us yer tatts 11
on his knob? Paul Burns. (30/10/04) Players Are Too Old I am obviously amazed and delighted at the start to the season but I do think that we have to really lower the average age of the players sometime soon. We have done splendidly despite the lack of pace and guile but effort will not do it alone. I think we need at least one good, young, pacy centre back to play alongside Yobo next season and a play maker in midfield. We had an average age of just under 30 against Norwich and it was well over that when we subbed Osman and Cahill. All great sides build while they are winning and if we have any ambition for the next few seasons we have to drastically alter the present team. I am afraid we are really threadbare if we have a couple of injuries. Our two young
squad players Fox and Gerrard are both only 18, so we need players in
the 23 to 27 age bracket. Yobo - A Star Went the Preston game, managed to get in although I was at the turnstyles at 7pm! Joseph Yobo was my man of the match last night, he won everything in the air and he remains calm and controlled on the ball even in situations when your sitting there with your arse on the outside of your pants. Now this is just a thought. As Stubbs and Weir are playing well and keeping young Joey out the side, why not try him in Carsley's holding role on Saturday against Villa. He'll do a good job and there will be a bit of height in midfield? Anyways, Up the blues, Keep the Faith. Greg, Maghull. (30/10/04) Hibbert Having A Great Season I'm not sure
if this will be on the website in time, but just in reply to the email
sent in about Tony Hibbert after the Norwich game! I thought he was brilliant,
just the same as he has been all season. Ronaldo never got a kick against
Utd, neither did Zenden or Berger in fact. Tony Hibbert had an awful season
last year, but he has been one of Everton's best this season. Don't understand
why people get on the blue boys backs when we are 3rd in the league, everyone
is playing for each other, and everyone is playing well. Apart from Norwich
look how many goals our defence has leaked!!!!! What Do You Think? Have your say! e-mail bluekipper.com |
