Spurs Report

First class report by that man. How did DM manage to accumulate such a pace less team. And the writer was spot on with his analysis of Bent. I reckon the trouble there is envy. He is on about 13K per week not 20K and other equally poor players are on a lot more. Mike Weir. (18/10/05)

1950/51

Dave Vivyan is wrong to compare this team with the 1950/51 side. That team scored 48 goals, 5 in one game (against Fulham at Craven Cottage!!) beat the RS at Anfield and went down fighting. Can't see that happening this season! Rob. (18/10/05)

Spurs v Everton

Ok, Cockney Pete had Phil Neville as MOM. He was all right although I thought Timmy, Marcus and Yobo(despite another stupid pass) were better. The thing is we have a serious problem with Phil. The other players clearly hate him. We were on row 6 in with the Spurs fans a third the way along the side. We could clearly see Phil bossing the others and how pissed off they were with it. Three times he rushed over to grab the ball for throw-ins and first Marcus, then Tim, then Leon, rushed off quick throws just to spite him. Their faces told how unimpressed they were . In the second half we had a free kick in our half at the edge of the centre circle in the centre half position. Jo went to take it. Phil rushed over from right back, motioned Jo out of the way and proceeded to dolly up a shit ball towards Dunc and JB. It wasn;t like it was a key area and if I was Jo I would probably have given Phil an earful.

Then there was the last substitution. Did anyone else see what happened? Moyesy holds up the board for McFadden to come off. Neville stops the substitution, sends McFadden back and points to Marcus and tells him to get off!!! Moyes overruled him but what the f**k is going on here?

The last Everton player to want to take every throw, free kick and penalty(if we ever get one) was Alan Ball. It pissed off the whole team but he was BRILLIANT and had a World Cup winners medal. Phil Neville is a good player but he's not that good. When he signed, I was pleased that we had added a good player to the squad. But that is all. I wonder how much of the team spirit we built up last year has dissipated now we have Phil. I think a lot of the others are going into their shells and avoiding responsibility because they are fed up with his belly aching. Tom Sheriff. (18/10/05)

Send Reinforcements (Not three and fourpence)

I am sitting here in Australia - Monday night after the Spurs Game reading through the BBC football web page and Blue Kipper emails and thinking to meself ¨How are we going to get out of this?¨ There is plenty of good advice on Blue Kipper for example Phil Neville saying ¨Lets fight¨ - good idea and S.G.Whelan´s (17/10/05) suggestion to ¨Shut it¨ another good idea.

Kevin Latham (JFK Was An Evertonian) is an Evertonian through and through and even he is wondering where the fix is going to come from. He is dead right about getting behind the team though. I couldn´t see meself booing any player wearing our shirt. But we can only do so much the rest has to come from the players. But how do you get something extra out this crew.

The way I see it we have got half a squad left over from last season who pulled their pan out for Everton and half of them are now in the waiting
room. Stubbsy - the glue that held the squad together - got a raw deal and he has gone and snatched it. So (as Davey would say) there are a few problems there.
The flip side to this coin (as Robert de Niro would say) is that the new players are mostly crocked or haven´t had a chance to get used to the FEROCITY of the premiership. They are probably watching in horror from the sidelines wondering ¨How did I get meself into this?¨

We haven´t got a minder on the pitch for when they do get fit (Dunc God bless him isn´t quite fast enough for that these days - but he is still
good in the box) so we are going to have to get one of those in January. Oh yeah and somebody who can score goals for fun. Question - Could Phil and Biffa do this business? By the way Biffa - please don´t stick the head on Gallas this Saturday - especially on the back of his head (twice) - it is very bad for you - you could hurt yourself.

Davey is struggling - he needs help (like us). I am sure he won´t be sleeping at night because he does care. So what we need is someone to give us inspiration. I can´t do it because I am 12000 miles away and anyway they wouldn´t listen to me because I am just a 57 year old ex pat who started following Everton 47 years ago when he was a snotty nosed kid from the North End of Birkenhead. (But I´ll tell you what - I wouldn´t mind half an hour with them players in that dressing room before the Chelsea game).

So (with all due respect to Davey) what I would do if I was Blue Bill is this - I would get on the phone to Sir Bobby Robson and ask him to come
and visit him and Davey. Then I would give this picture to him of me and me Dad (God rest his soul in heaven) which was taken on my first trip back to the UK after 25 years in the land of OZ (I didn´t have much money for ages). And then I would ask Sir Bobby to tell those players what this picture means. Sir Bobby would know what to say because although he is not an Evertonian - he is one of us. They would listen to him because he used to be a manager in Europe and of England.
That´s what I would do. What do you think Captain Haddock? Laurie Hartley. (18/10/05)

A CALL TO ARMS

Ten out of Ten to Blue Kipper for publishing the letters that really hurt. Fans like John Andrews, Chris Simpson, Kevin Latham etc have great passion for the club and are expressing their passionate feelings at the demise we are in. It is sad that the players do not match the fans with similar passion. Some of the issues raised in the letters are so true and honest and no doubt cause embarrassment to the players and manager alike. So many people can not be wrong regarding the ineptitude of certain players.

Lack of confidence has been mentioned. There was no lack of confidence when some of them were hanging out for a better contract. Their wage should be based on their league position. Wyness the blob says this is a blip. In my half a century as a Blue this is the worst crisis we have ever encountered. Almost a quarter of the season gone and we have three points to show for it. It is down to the players and the manager to get it right on the pitch. We all know who is not doing the business. It is up to the manager to pick eleven players who will give their all for the shirt. As fans we must get behind them especially this Saturday.

Last season we were hornswoggled out of the game by a hand ball goal allowed by Mike Riley. We had ten men for nearly all the game and Chelsea were lucky to get the three points. We must get behind the team. Chelsea are not invincible. It looks as though James Beattie is about to have a run in the team. In all fairness Beattie has on the cameo appearances he has featured in has scored or at least gone close. Therefore it is only fair that he is given a chance and given some quality of service. A centre forward is only as good as the service he receives. The club web-site should also resist from putting inane comments from players talking themselves up. ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS. JACK WARNER. LIFELONG BLUE. (18/10/05)

Stay Positive

I know it looks like doom & gloom, but I am trying to stay positive with respect to a few facts regarding last season and this season. So far we have played 5 away games, of the teams that we have so far played this season we have the same number of points, difference being we won at Bolton and lost at Man City this season. We have lost all are home games so far, unlucky against Manure and the other two defeats, yes we were poor, but we did lose more than this last season at home. As for people shouting for the managers head, then obviously the have pressed their panic button far to early. I say we stick together, get behind the manager and the players and stay positive. Neil C. (18/10/05)

When will the penny drop?

Another week and yet another defeat. Next week Chelski and not too much hope there. Possibly nearly a quarter of the season gone and just three points amassed. One would think that in the light of all this that Moyes may try something different. But unfortunately he plods on with the same team every week! Irrespective of opinions as to who should be dropped or who is not up to it, it must be time for a change.

Against City McFadden and Bent did not have one shot, on or off target, between them and yet Ferguson and Beattie are sitting on the bench. Yobo and Weir have played, I believe, all of the games so far this season and we have lost all but one. For the last couple of games Kroldrup has also been sitting on the bench. When will the penny drop ?

Van der Meyde was allegedly hoping to get on the bench for the Wigan game but Moyes will not have it. He insists that Andy Pandy has to be 100% fit before he will even get on the bench. I was under the impression that both Kroldrup and van der Meyde were supposedly out for about six weeks. I feel fairly certain that the six week period has since passed and some.

I cannot imagine what has got to happen before Moyes changes his mind and changes the side. I will not name anybody specifically as I suspect everybody knows who is not good enough. The same names crop up time and time again on this site. Suffice to say I do not believe the Scottish contingent are helping our cause. I did not want to see Moyes go, or be sacked, but I have to say that if a team loses seven of its first eight games and the manager still selects the same side every week then something is amiss. In those eight games we have scored just one goal. Mind you we have been up against the cream of the Premiership in teams like Fulham, Portsmouth and Wigan.

Finally I have to say that I was more than surprised to hear of the meeting at Bellefield where apparently Moyes read the riot act. Considering it is Moyes who picks the team and decides on the tactics this is a bit rich! Sadly I think it may be time for a change before it is too late. A very unhappy Blue. John Andrews. (17/10/05)

Tick Tock

The question is do we live on sentiment and give david moyes more time or do we look at the facts and say he hasn't got a clue what he is fucking doing?

1.sale of Rooney and Gravesen.
2. Offering Kilbane(gives ball away to easily) and Naysmith 3year contracts when there both shite.
3 Getting done by Harry Redknapp in paying £6million pound for Beattie.
4 squandering the current pot on crocks and half hearted people like Simon Davies who lose the ball to easily.
5 The European adventure(Disaster that made us laughing stocks).
6 our current position bottom of the fucking league.

to name but a few.

We should be looking up the phone numbers of Mike Newell, Dave Jones or even big Joe before it becomes mission impossible to keep Everton in the premier league. Chris Simpson. (17/10/05)

NIGHTMARE ON GWLADYS STREET

THIS SEASON WE HAVE BEEN NOTHING SHORT OF FUCKING SHITE! 1951 WAS THE LAST TIME WE FAILED TO SCORE 6 GAMES ON THE BOUNCE AND WE WERE PROMPTLY RELEGATED! HOW MANY MANAGERS WITH BETTER RECORDS THAN MOYES HAVE BEEN SACKED SINCE THEN? DO US A FAVOUR BILL. FIND A REPLACEMENT FOR MOYES AND THEN FUCK OFF AND LET SOMEBODY ELSE RUN THE CLUB, AS YOU CLEARLY DONT HAVE A FUCKING CLUE. DAVE VIVYAN. (17/10/05)

Beattie Needs To Score NOW

I couldn't agree more with Bluekipper's report on Beattie when they say "time to stop talking and start scoring." I said it all along Beattie needs to shut his mouth and get on with it. He has done nothing, NOTHING since he has been here. Saints fans tell me he looks the slimmest he has ever been and he is probably the fittest once he can shake his injuries off and score one he will score many. WHEN IS THIS GOING TO HAPPEN? Until he actually does something, he needs to SHUT IT, because there's one thing Evertonians don't like it's someone who has not proved himself and tries to be a legend. Please someone tell him to SHUT IT or i'm going to throw something at him. I would like to take my hat off to all Evertonians for being so patient with him we are the best supporters in Land, but he's trying my patience now. S.G.Whelan. (17/10/05)

Get Behind The Team

My feelings for Everton, my club, my beloved club have changed lately and I have been sooo down. I was ashamed of my team. No spirit, no fight. Then I read Kevin Latham's letter today. Every single Evertonian should read what he has to say, because he is fucking right! I am a Blue. Born a Blue and as my tatt says 'Die a Blue'. Kev's letter instilled my pride and love for my club again. We should ALL be behind the lads and Moysie. If anyone can do it to pick the boys up, its US, the fans. So i just want to say to Kevin, well done son. I'm behind you 100%. Come on you Blue Boys! EFC Forever. Stuey Day. (17/10/05)

Oh No

I'm sorry but all you soppy "in moyes we trust " sentimentalists had better get yer prayer mats out, because Mr. David Moyes has lost the plot big time and is going to take us down this season. Mike Walker was the last manager to have a record this bad and he wasn't given anywhere near as much time as Moyes. Bad buys, players bought with injuries, others just not arsed, no tactics, no passion, no commitment and Moyes sounding more and more like disappointing every week. "We'll just carry on dung what where dung" OH REALLY, what the fucks that then Moyes? Losing? because that's the only thing your doing consistently. And don't all you dyed in the wool lot start harping on about getting behind the players and the manager. We've done it already and where still shit.

How can keep up the enthusiasm when the likes of Weir comes out with a comment like "I prefer playing for Scotland." Well my answer to that Weir is well fuck off back to Scotland then because you about as much use as knob in a rug munching orgy here. Tiny's burnt out, Neville is wondering what the fuck he's doing there. McFadden and Bent for all their effort are simply not good enough. The list is endless. 5-5-1 that's going to get us a goal's Moyes isn't it? Bent couldn't hit Mount Everest with a fuckin dart at the moment so why are you playing him??
Move over chicken me fuckin heed's coming in. joeverton. (17/10/05)

Promote The Ladies

Having successfully negotiated my way through another tricky day, imagine my horror when I found Everton had been beaten again. 2-0 by Spurs What's that now played 8 lost 7, with only 1 goal. What a start to the season by overpaid individuals who show nothing of the commitment for the blue shirt and are basically CRAP at their jobs!!!!

I think it's time the manager resigned along with the whole of the first team squad, the reserves and the women's team were promoted to the premiership. This lot are CRAP and destined to play the rest of their careers in the old folks home up in Crosby. What a lot of wankers. I've had enough and am going to go shopping with my girlfriend every saturday from now on rather than watch the SHIT that once was Everton FC. Truly madly angrily. Trublu. (17/10/05)

Thanks From The Jukebox in Bucharest

Sorry it's taken so long for me to send an email, but I just wanted to say we`ve had a lot of fans from the uk here but the Everton fans were without a doubt the best, well behaved, I have ever seen. WELL DONE! Sorry for the result, but like I heard from so many of you guys, Everton is about the fans not the players. I had a look at your photos and didn't see any "kopites and gobshites" t-shirts :). Colin from "The Jukebox". Bucharest. (17/10/05)

JFK Was An Evertonian

“Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.” Any American will be able to tell you that those words belong to their most famous President this century, John Kennedy – JFK.

So what has JFK to do with Everton? Well, apart from the fact that he was of Irish descent like many Evertonians, could we not with a little alteration apply what he said to our great club? JFK struck gold with his comments because he played on the pride that Americans have for their country, a pride that they will shove in your face at any opportunity – God Bless America, Stars and Stripes Forever, America the Beautiful and so forth. But does our pride in our club not compare to this?

It’s very obvious that Evertonians’ pride is severely dented at the moment, maybe more so than it has ever been. We’re hurting, and there’s no immediate prospect of any relief, with Spurs and Chelsea over the horizon. These are truly dire times to be a Blue. But lads, we ARE Blues. Whilst we can (and do) blame Kenwright, Moyes, Irvine, Beattie, Walter Smith, Dennis Compton etc for the predicament we’re in, should we supporters not accept that we have a part to play in all of this? Because Kenwright apart – and I’m not attempting to defend him, just pointing out an obvious truth – none of the others I’ve mentioned know what it’s like to be a born Evertonian. They are or were paid to be part of our great club and at some point will be part of another. We have it in our blood.

Yes, we’re hurting all right, and it’s only natural that people have a go at those in charge, even if it’s only out of frustration. But maybe it’s time to think about what we can do for Everton, because if we want to turn the current shite around, we won’t do it by turning on those at the front end of the club. We know from David Weir’s comments that morale is about as high as Ronnie Corbett’s knob so it’s obvious even to a redshite that the players need a lift. Maybe this is part of what we can do for our club, tough as it may be. Whatever you think of Moyes and the others they’re not going to turn things around with the fans on their backs – show me a team that has ever turned the corner with their own crowd against them.

I have in the past been firmly in David Moyes’ corner, but I have to admit that right now my faith in him is being tested big time. Some of his decisions baffle me (and most other people) and our tactics are simplistic. Would things improve if he took a taxi ride? Well, would they? How much would we – a club with no money - have to pay him off, for example? Who would we put in this place? Who would come? Some fantasists have suggested Martin O’Neill – wake up for fuck’s sake! Or Peter Reid. Great Blue, great bloke, great player – our best midfielder since the incomparable Alan Ball. Love Reidy. But do you really think that he’s our best bet to replace Moyes?

And what if we brought a new guy in and he didn’t fancy some of the players there? We’ve just spent a shitload of money, so where would the money come from to fund new players? And even then these new players may be no improvement.

So while it’s easy to shout for Moyes’ head, it’s not so easy to think of the possible consequences. Does anybody want him to fail, for fuck’s sake? Where would that leave us? I actually think that some people do want Moyes to fuck up so that we can give him a bigger bullet than JFK got. Great logic lads, because that will mean that - apart from wanting Everton to lose - we're well and truly up shit creek. If we could be guaranteed that a new manager would put us where we belong then count me in, but we all know that there are no guarantees in this game, especially where EFC are concerned.

Therefore, it follows that for the immediately foreseeable, personnel will stay the same. We can slag off anyone and everyone, but how far will that improve morale? To my simple way of thinking it’s a question of putting our pet hates to one side (for me by the way, that’s Bent, who just isn’t Premiership class, and the lightweight Osman who seems to be a boy in a man’s game) and getting behind those blue shirts. Like it or not, and many don't, In Moyes we HAVE to trust. We have a big, big part to play in helping this club climb the league. Is it not in our own interests to stand as one?

We have to start doing the business soon (although let's be realistic about the Spurs and Chelsea games), but we fans have to do our bit, whatever we think of individuals. Get behind Moyes. Let’s show Beattie that we have faith in him. Fuck me, I’ll even shout myself hoarse for Bent and Osman. Whoever wears the royal blue must – MUST – get our support now more than ever.

If they don’t then we’ve failed. So let’s not fail. Don’t turn on your own. You're probably thinking "What a daft twat, wake the fuck up" but you know what, I don't know any other way than to shout up for the Blues. Like I say, it's in the blood. If the day ever comes when I turn on the team and the manager then send me to fucking Newcastle. That said, I do realise that the time may come when DM has to go, but until that day comes (and I hope that it won't) then I'll stand up for him - he's manager of Everton for fuck's sake, doesn't that stand for something?

So when you think of JFK saying “Ask what you can do for Everton”, I hope that you will hold your head up (which is more than he can now, obviously, since some of it’s still on that car seat in Dallas) and say that when the team really needed you, when it was easier to criticize than support, when times were as bleak as they could be, YOU stood up to be counted.

Come on You Blues. Always. Kevin Latham. (12/10/05)

Dixie Dean

Without doubt dixie dean was the best, shear magic. To more players that spring to mind are Jimmy Greaves, and of course the late Brian Clough.
I myself support crewe. Not as good as Everton. But then we all need a team. Good luck for the future. God bless Dixie. Ernest Tanner. (12/10/05)

Evertonians (A Rare Breed)

Evertonians are a rare breed. Starved of success for years we keep on coming back to support the blues in the belief that good times are just around the corner. Looks like this season we shouldn't be holding our breath for just a little bit longer. After last season's heroics our expectations were pushed too high. We finished fourth on merit but realistically we struggled for the last half of the season. That struggle has continued into the start of this new season and the evidence speaks for itself, take a long hard look at the Premiership table.

Now call me misguided, blinkered or over optimistic (typical Evertonian really) but I really do believe we can salvage something from this season. I try not to listen to the doom mongers that pedal their pessimism, sometimes I wonder if these people get to games. So let's NOT sack Davey Moyes. We should be backing the man to the hilt.

We should also be making more noise at Goodison. The fans at the home game against Dynamo Bucharest were brilliant and the majority of those 25,000 that made the effort probably shed a tear knowing our European dream was over when the full time whistle blew. The point I'm making is that they were there, even though we had a mountain to climb. The noise level was great for a crowd of that size, all believing we could pull something out of the fire.

The passion is always there but sometimes frustration and disappointment take over. Let's get over that and carry on doing what we're good at, getting behind the lads. I've lost count of the times I've mentioned what great support we've got. Players come and go, managers and chairmen come and go, but the support for this great Club will always be the envy of many other football clubs.

On the playing front we need to knuckle down, even if it means 'dogs of war' until Christmas, when we can bring in more players, then at least the fans will be happy to see us picking up points. Can't be any worse than what we're doing now. Lock up shop away from home and try attacking when we're at Goodison, sounds simple but surely it can't be that difficult.

Anyway, I'm off now. I'll probably write in again next week saying the same thing, hoping we've got more points in the bag, hoping the lads start playing a little bit better, hoping we're further up the table, HERE'S HOPING!!!! COYB. Eddieparkend. (12/10/05)

Market Research - The Everton Way

I had this bird ring me on friday afternoon she was from a marketing company and was doing some market research for Everton. Seems some bright sparks have come up with this idea. EFC want us to invest some cash (the figure quoted to me was 5 grand) over 5 years .she said the cash is linked to how well Everton do in the transfer market. They give you a list of players from the first team down to the youth team you then choose your players if we sell them on at a profit you make on the money you have invested. At the end of the five years if the players you chose haven't been sold or have been but EFC didn't make a profit you get back just the cash you invested. What's this all about. Surely Wyness is taking the piss. Kev Hughes. (12/10/05)

Moyes is the man to lead us - Don't be a part-time supporter

Like many I agree with Kevin Latham and would endorse again joe90 call for some sort of help for Moyes with regards to the identification and acquisition of new first team and youth players. This may be an obvious job for Alan Irvine or some of the youth development boys but why then are we not moving to sign up the elite of young players in Europe? Arsenal have been at it for years with various degrees of success but with the likes Fabregas and Anelka excelling in the premiership and costing nominal fees, why not try?

However I realise that it is easier for young players to thrive in a winning environment in a team full of quality internationals. This is why I was not disappointed with Moyes in the transfer market over the summer. I feel he addressed the areas of the team in most urgent need of cover. With the options available up front including Beattie, Ferguson, Bent, Vaughan and McFadden it made sense to re-enforce the midfield and defence. Yes a striker would have been nice but it was the same group that had got us 4th last year plus a fit again, then injured, then fit again then injured again James Beattie, surely we were a better team.

Had Davie not set about recruiting in midfield and defence we would have been woefully short of cover given the recent injury list. Yes some of his signings have yet to make their Everton debuts but Kroldrup was not signed injured, Beattie started the season talking himself up and raring to go, Pistone did his ligaments at Bolton, Naysmith is having various problems, Carsley needs a knee op, Vaughan hurt himself on U21 duty where as Van Der Meyde is the only player brought in with a known injury but for £1.8m it seemed a good deal regardless.

I don't think any Evertonian would have seen the start we have had coming at the beginning of the season. On paper our squad is definitely stronger both in terms of quality and depth. We had many wins by the odd goal last season, the key to this was a strong defence, goals from midfield (Gravesen, Cahill) and a team high on confidence and galvanised with a strict work ethic. We also had few injuries, no European games and low expectations from the supporters and the media. Indeed I feel it is the later of these factors that have had the most significant impact on our season so far.

If David Moyes should be criticised for anything it should be for raising our expectations. Blame him for making us expect to win on a regular basis qualifying for European competition in the process. Blame him for not settling for mediocrity and clearing out the dead wood. For making the most of what he had and getting it right some are ready to hang the manager of the year 7 games into the new season. He is a good young manager who deserves to be given more time and maybe more help. (Frank Arnesan type?) Of course I'm disappointed with our start and with going out of Europe and with the fact that Weir is a regular even though he's well past it.

BUT! its not a new pacey striker that's going to get it sorted for us, it's a team effort with the supporters behind them and the manager that will help us get back on track. It's easy to jump on the bandwagon and it's easy to support a winning team. It's hard when the chips are down and backs are against the wall.

It's one thing to voice your concerns but - Don't be a part-time supporter. Shep. (12/10/05)

Collina

Just seen the the above named in an advert for Vauxhall Cars. I for one will never buy a Vauxhall again and lets hope all of us boycott their cars, and the Evertonians over at there Ellesmere Port make their feelings known to their management. SI. WIGAN. (12/10/05)

We Won't Get Relegated

The feeling of utter shock will not go away. Do we have to go down? It's really a bad dream, we have paid the penalty the success of last year. The manager will need a miracle. We have to hang on, all hands to the pumps, batton down the hatches. Hold on! We have been here before. Come on you know it's okay. We will never go down it's only October. Get a grip! But it's reallity. A few bad signings now look what you have. A
complete feeling of dissaster if we lose another game. The success of last year will be a memory. The midfield playing like shite, people injured,
Manager lost the plot, pressure building all over the place. Sack the manager! Kenwright out! Who else would you support? Fifty eight years of being a blue. We do not know of a time other than the present. WE SHALL NOT BE MOVED. COYB. John Lea. (08/10/05)

Loan Beattie Out

Considering our present predicament we need some drastic action. Firstly although short on strikers I would see if we could loan James Beattie to either Preston or Burnley for a month to help him rebuild his confidence and make him realise what an honour it is to play for Everton you never know he might even score some goals. If fit I would start with Bent and Fergusson midfield of arteta, neville(capt), cahill and play 5 accross the back valente, kroldrop, yobo,(sweeper) ferarri, hibert the idea being don't leak any goals then try and get one on the break like all other prem sides seem to be doing this year. A few wins should ease the tension then we could look at re-opening the school of science. Chris Simpson. (08/10/05)

Get Behind The Team

I think we all need to get together and get right behind the team and will them on to win, not slag them off saying they’re shit, it will do more harm than good. We need a good performance and a few goals, lets all be the twelfth man and try and give our boys the confidence that they so desperately lack, the goals will come and once they do, we will climb the league table because we have got more good players than bad!!

Come on fellow blue noses – we are stuck with the team we have got till January, so let’s get behind them! Fuck the booing and moaning, we are used to all this, it comes with being born a blue, we are better than that, that’s the type of thing the shite do, we are Everton football club for fuck sake, lets show even more passion than we have done recently! But let’s channel it in the right way by getting behind moyes and the team, because if we don’t, we will be just as bad as them lucky bastards across the park and it will only make things worse. Lets hope moyes learns from his mistakes and starts to make things right, he IS a good manager! We don’t want to lose him to united or anyone, we shouldn’t sack him for fuck sake, even though the thought has entered my head! Come on you blues. True Blue Forever! Ron. (08/10/05)

It's either Walter Smith or Mrs. Doubtfire!

Just when we think that you've got rid of him he come back to haunt us........Walter Smith is back.........he's still Scottish, a bit shorter and slimmer. Talks the talk.... Walks the walk...........But the big give away are his tactics.

A) 4-1-4-1..............it' not exciting, it's not clever, it' not as if anybody has tried to use these tactics in the Premiership before. It's an insult to those who pay to watch!

B) We had a lucky season using 4-1-4-1 for 5 months last year, and the only reason it was used was because we had a lack of players, hardly any quality players, too many over 30, and Nationwide players.

I am fed up with watching Marcus Bent running from side to side, in the opposition half, he hardly ever touches the ball, and once in a blue(kipper)moon he has a shot. I believe that Beattie might be okay, with a strike partner, playing two up front! Dunc, Martin and Weir are too old, and Kilbane, hasn't got a clue. With the exception of (in no particular order) Cahill, Arteta, Ferrari, Yobo, Davies and Kroldrup, this Everton side is crap! And if anybody tells me that Tony Hibbert is a quality full back, they want their arse kicking.......he's crap....a liability. He can't stay on his feet, he tries to be tough in the tackle, but gives foul after foul away, in dangerous positions, and injures himself!

Get the Scouts out, bring players in, who want to play for Everton, don't bother with the ones who think that they have a reputation, and try and crew us for money. (WE DON"T WANT YOU!) Bill Kenwright and Keith Wyness should take Moyes to one side and tell him that whatever it takes, come the next transfer window.......go and buy YOUR OWN PLAYERS! Not Kenwrights.. Not Wyness.. HIS OWN. David Moyes is a good manager, and given the money, and the choice of his players, we have a chance of being great once again.

For the time being...........any chance of 4-4-2...........any chance of any shots.........any chance of playing football as it should be played, without all this tactical crap, which has made some decent players look ordinary! Mal............Trueblue(but not holdings). (06/10/05)

Conversation between Dad and 6 year old son.

Joe. Dad.
Dad. Yes son.
Joe. Is there something wrong with the Everton players bodies?
Dad. What do you mean son?
Joe. Well, they've lost about 160 games so there must be something wrong with them .
Dad. I hadn't thought of it like that, but yeh you're probably right.
Joe. Can Dixie Dean play for us again and score some goals.
Dad. That would solve all our problems mate but sadly Dixies not with us anymore.
Joe. Dixies the only player who scored 60 goals in 60 seconds.
Dad. Yeh, Dixie Dean , Davie Hickson, Alex Young, Joe Royle, Bob Latchford. Why can't they all come back and play for us?
Joe. Dixie was a giant wasn't he dad and Alex Young is the golden vision.
Dad.(Starting to sob and thinking 'Christ Joe, shut up, you're killing me mate...')
Joe. Why can't Everton ladies play instead of the men, as they're top of the league.
Dad. What a great idea, Give DM a ring and tell him you're taking over as manager.
Joe. Can we go and watch Everton against Chelsea please Dad.
Dad. You're dead right we're going to watch Everton against Chelsea son. We'll never stop supporting them..
Joe. I love Everton dad.
Dad. (gets out the whisky)

Top 100 Rankings Premier League Players

Hardly a surprise but not a single Everton player appears in the Actim index of the top 100 ranked players this season. As a matter of interest does anyone know how many corners we have won – I bet we are not even in double figures! Yorkshire blue since 62. (06/10/05)

Don't Become The Weakest Link

Hi, I've supported EFC since the very early 50's so I have been lucky enough to watch some very good EFC teams. I feel so sorry for the present fans who have never seen what I would call a decent team. I have written many comments to the Echo over the past three seasons urging us to start to replace our older players with youth, enthusiasm, pace and flair. All these are imperative ingredients for a good premiership team nowadays. I think we must have the oldest team in the premier and why we have hung on to Weir, Ferguson, Naysmith, Pistone, Carsley etc etc and let all our youngsters go baffles me.

We have a fantastic fan base which is 10000 more than many other premiership teams, God knows how many would come if we were worth watching !! How is it that teams like Blackburn, Charlton, Middlesboro etc can attract decent name players and we cannot ?????? The apparent total lack of ambition really rankles with me. A very concerned and disappointed true blue, Trevor Lynes. (06/10/05)
