6 feet wide & 5 feet long C'mon guys, even we Evertonians know that width & length, in picture terms, are synonymous! Len Buurman. (02/11/05) You havin that Dave Now then all you blue noses. All this talk about us going down hurts alot. It's hard to be positive at the present moment but I really believe it's round the corner as many have been saying. We have to get behind this squad and moyes. I'm living in Isle of Man now so don't get to as many as I'd like to and over here it's full of koppites and man u so it's hard. I also bought 3 new home shirts at start of of season for me my wife and my son and had printed on back EUROPEAN 05 TOUR. My own fault true, costing me £157. Now there un wearable but if i'm still loving this team as much as most of you are it will come. Yours hopeingly. Marc the iom bluenose. (02/11/05) Brum Great support. Great Day. Still a bit worried about Beattie missing two great opportunities. Hopefully the confidence will grow. Just a slight word about Birmingham fans I have never experienced such a bunch of w@"!^*rs and the Police were worse than I had ever seen they were gagging for a scrap. Alcohol ban Again what have we done? does anyone know? We seem to have a bad name. Whelan. (02/11/05) Marcus Bent will only be a sub for Everton from now on, if that. I can then see him going in January if Everton sign a new striker. Surely they won't fail this time. He had a great period last season when he was the lone striker in the 451 formation. Who could forget his goal at Southampton. But was invariably replaced by Dunc who then scored to take the limelight. This season he has been poor. The stats say it all. Bent has started 6 out of a possible 15 games this season. This when Everton have been short of strikers with injuries to Beattie, Ferguson and Vaughan. He was even left on the bench against Wigan with Osman and McFadden taking the striking roles. Now Everton have a near fully fit squad, Bent never even made the bench last Saturday. Moyesy says: "We are beginning to get a bigger squad here and the decisions are going to get tighter and your performances are the thing you will be judged by. Marcus has been great for us but on Saturday I just felt I wanted other options on the bench." Some papers and other web sites have interpreted this as Moyes saying your still in my plans. I don't. To me it says you have not taken your chance and now Beattie and Van Der Meyde are fit you won't be getting another. Of course things change very quickly in football. It only leaves Beattie to get injured or suspended and that's very likely and he's back in the squad. Come the transfer window it's thanks and goodbye. Suzzie. (02/11/05) Well In Boys The match against Birmingham was a great performance from the lads. It's what I want to see the lads do. I'm a 14 year old Australian and I could feel the joy coming from Everton all the way over here. Me and my older brother were so proud but Everton still have a long way to go before they show what there really made of and last season proved it. I had never felt so proud to be an Evertonian and hearing the chant at Goodison park - "Champions league were avin a laugh", gave me goose bump all up my arms and I know we can still get into the Champions league again this season. So there was no way I was about to be embarrassed to wear an Everton shirt and would just like to point out the Evertonians who did say that, should be slapping themselves write now. But that's my opinion. So I hope some of the fans read this and give Everton all the support they can get because I would love to be in liverpool right now supporting my club. Tim Higgins. (31/10/05) Moyes Is Still The Man How can we get past Evertonians who cry for Moyesy's head? Every team goes to bits, looses its way, even manure went to the brink with Alexander the great. Ok we were shite losing the plot at the beginning of the season. Moyes brought in new players to make Everton a force. The amount of cash needed to make a team compete is ridicules. Ask all the teams who have failed in the last five years. We are on the road to recovery. The doctor is in the house. We have all that is needed in Moyes. WE SHALL NOT BE MOVED. COYB. John Lea. (31/10/05) When will the penny drop? Part II
Treblecock (of 1966 Final fame) gets pass from penalty and scores in 1964 On 21st November 1964 Mike Treblecock, the scorer of two goals in the 1966 Cup Final did what Arsenal players were unable to do at weekend. Receive a pass from a penalty kick and score. It may be accessed and viewed through the following link. http://www.greensonscreen.co.uk/mancity64H.htm Cheers. Rob. (25/10/05) Great Spirit After
watching the Chelsea in Liverpool University [I'm no student] I couldn't
believe the way we played the game, it was great the fact we
If we continue to play like that week in week out then I can ensure you
we will dominate every game, but was that just a one game wonder Brum Win A Must This has to be the turning point of our season. If we don't win at Birmingham then I can't see how we are going to get anywhere this season. I said it in previous emails about Leeds, Ipswich, Southampton, West ham, this list is endless of clubs who qualified for Europe and went straight down the pan into the championship. However I watched on sky last year Forest against West ham and it was the best game of footie I've watched for years. Two footed tackles going in, no dives, plenty of goals and no moaning from the players. Good ref and terrific support. I DON'T KNOW ABOUT ANYONE ELSE but Ii would follow Everton to the end of the earth Premiership or not. I'm an Evertonian so i'll carry on supporting the lads and if we go down, we go down. I'll still support them though. One of your readers mentioned Man Shiteeeee. Well I think Man city have actually done very well and they came back. Why? Because they were getting full houses week in week out and the supporters bought them back and I am sure that we would do the same. Just support the team and if it goes to shit I'll see you on the road at Reading, Preston, and Southampton. We can only do our bit then it's out of our hands. ONCE A BLUE ALWAYS A BLUE. WHELANS961. (24/10/05) Revert To Last Season's Formula I have to agree with Dave Vivyan’s’ comments on Everton’s disastrous start to the season. Even here in sunny Brisbane/Oz we Evertonians are cringing at the results so far. I have only seen a couple of matches on the telly down here and some so called highlights but I can’t work out why we have gone backwards. Why can’t we play the same system that got us so much success last season, 5 in the middle with Bent running his balls off and then bringing Big Dunc on for the last 20 minutes? McFadden will never make it at the top level, as long as he has got a hole in his arse, Spurs must be laughing up their sleeves at getting 3.5 million for Davies .As for Biffa, we have got to pray we can get some goals from him or it’s another shit load of money wasted. Something must be done about the defence, our goal difference is the worst in the league, I know we need a goal-scorer but at the same time we must stop leaking them too. Sorry to state the bleeding obvious !!! Well moan over for now ; good luck everyone for Sunday against Chelsea. We will be keeping everything crossed down here, lets face it we’ll take a point now. Best wishes from ‘Blues Downunder’ and as Cardinal Richelieu once said “Come on you Blues, PLEASE”, Maddog. (23/10/05) Fellow Everton Supporters, Looks like we could have a full house against Chelski tomorrow. Doesn't that say something about the loyalty, passion and commitment of Everton supporters. Same amount of points as the plug on our kettle and we're still turning up week in week out. If we can just get the players and management to give us the same commitment on the pitch and in the boardroom we should start pulling away from the bottom. Anyway, like I said a full house, that means packed to the rafters with the same supporters that cheered on the lads on that Wednesday night against the Mancs last season. The atmosphere and noise was amazing that night and must have rattled the opposition no end. If we shout for everything, sooner or later the ref might give us something that he would normally not consider. Don't tell me the crowds at Analfield, The Arse and Manure don't influence the referees there. So it's like Delia said to her lot, 'let's be 'avin yer'. Let's make some noise for the boys, get the flags, balloons and scarves out. Yes I know it sounds nuts, but there must be some form of insanity involved in supporting our great Club. Jose Mourinho summed up the Everton supporters last season at their place. He couldn't understand how three thousand away supporters could make more noise than the thirty odd thousand Chelsea fans in the ground, or clap-happy fans as I like to call them (who sits there and claps when you score a goal for God sake?). So come on Blues fans, let's be having you, let's shake the place tomorrow!! COYB. Eddieparkend. (22/10/05) Place your bets....... There
will be no better time to place your bets on the mighty blue boys staying
up than first thing Monday.......sadly sunday is a foregone conclusion,
so with 3 points from 9 games, who'd believe we'll stay up??!! The bookies
are starting to have us as "certs" for relegation that's for
sure. Well,we all know better, and we all know we will stay up - so hopefully
this appalling run will end at Birmingham a week sunday. So next monday
will be the low point of the season, and as such, a golden opportunity
to prove the bookies and the rest of the country wrong, whilst also making
a bob or two come next may..........Get your cash on, and let's watch
the slow, but steady rise from the existing mire!! State of Play I have just read the message by Bluenose, dated 27th July 04 – a lot of things happened for the worse since then for Everton. So where to now ?? What are the plans ?? The surprise is that I am a Spurs person for over 40 years now & I can sympathise with pain & frustration you are going through. For years recently Spurs fans have suffered as management & players lost sight of the simple basic game of football – get the ball forward ( not side & back passes until it is eventually played all the way back to the goalkeeper ) & score goals. And goals are scored by taking every opportunity to shoot, head the ball & follow up – not by trying to walk the ball in from 5 yards or closer. I also personally think that teams should return to club colours without any sponsors logos & writing plaster all over their strip. Players are there to play for the club & be proud to wear the club uniform. They are not there for anyone who bids the highest for their services as billboards or expensive sandwich board men. That is my gripe – hope things get better for you !! Cheers, Max, Melbourne, Australia. (22/10/05) ALAN STUBBS THE FELLA WE ARE MISSING AT THE BACK IS ALAN STUBBS. WIER IS USELESS AS CAPTAIN IF HE CARRYS ON BEING CAPTAIN WE WILL HAVE TO CHANGE OUR NAME TO TITANIC, BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT WILL HAPPEN. WE WILL GO DOWN. ANNE HENRY. (22/10/05) Worrying run Apart
from the 8 games and one goal this season in the league we must also remember
that we have not played well )apart from a few games), since last January.
I am concerned like the rest of us and we must start picking up points
soon. However I do believe that it will change. Beattie must remain fit
and while I haven't been impressed so far we must judge him when (or if)
he gets in the team regularly. We are getting a few fit now so hopefully
they will bring in a better quality. Beattie certainly has something to
prove. I just hope he plays two up against Chelski because if we try to
defend they'll murder us. Claudio Ranieri I am sorry to say but I think Moyes should leave as it is painfully clear he cannot motivate the players anymore. Our results are pathetic. He has said we have been unlucky in many games. I cannot even name one game where we were unlucky this season. We have been lucky not to have been given a hiding more times so far. Chelsea are bound to spank us hard. We have been beaten by some ordinary teams, teams who we really should have picked up maximum points from, and with some style and swagger. Nothing doing. Moyes has made many mistakes during his time in charge, but he got us to 4th last season and all credit to him for that. But why on earth did he not buy a striker I will never know. Its no use saying the ones we were after were overpriced, I will not accept that. Gone are the days when good players were snapped up on bargain deals. Moyes must have known that we would not score many with the strikers we have got. He paid 6 million for Beattie but would not stump up the 3 million spurs wanted for Keane. I could go on and on but it's been said before. I do have an idea of who should replace him, Claudio Ranieri. He would make us sparkle again, there is no doubt. Moyes has put together a few decent players and we thank him for that but it seems he does not know what to do with them. Ranieri would get us attacking and playing good football. Under Moyes we are doing neither. It is time for a change, the players need a new face in the changing room and new ideas, and fast. We will have lost 8 from 9 on sunday. That is not good enough at all. What happened to nil satis nisi optimum. We are Everton FC. We deserve and now demand better. Imran Malik, Dubai. (22/10/05) Smelling the coffee If things don't change and fast why would Robbie Keane or anyone else want to join a team at the foot of the table at Xmas. We all know what usually happens to such teams and no playa worth anything would want to have anything to do with it + no team would pay us the money we need for the wasters who got us there in the first place. This club has survived largely as a result of our being in the p'ship. If we accept that the board is largely useless and can't offer proper organisation for fans to enjoy our brief European adventure, one wonders what would happen if we get relegated. And right now, with our performances and results, you'll have to say relegation is a real prospect. Just something to ponder when you watching the re-run of our FA cup victory in 1995 in Rhyl. Abi aka blackandblu. (22/10/05) Our team While last season was a high, it was also a very false position that we finished in, as our form was that of relegation fodder, only the fact that the shite and Bolton could`t take advantage of of poor run in form, left everyone on a high. My personal view is that while EFC keep the reigns on a wage structure, how are they expected to attract top, or at the best better players to join us. My only hope is that Moyes is not another Royle, who can only take us to a certain level, as it takes a manager of outstanding vision and ability to go that extra yard. You
only have to look at the likes of Curbishley at Charlton, who has done
a fantastic job at the Valley, Sam at Bolton, Coleman at Fulham, it would
be nice to know how much Moyes hands are tied. My own personal view is
that Kenwright is quite happy to be noted as the figurehead of EFC, and
to keep them afloat financially. If we don`t wake up very lively, we could
end up the wealthiest club in the Championship. Our Famous Club Don’t know if this is the right outlet, but I gotta get something of my chest! With all the speculation about Moyes and his managerial ‘skills’ or lack of em. His ability to motivate, or lack of it! His likelihood of attracting players, or lack of it, etc. etc. I personally feel there is 1 thing and 1 thing only that people have missed out on and this 1 thing is the reason I feel he has let us all down. . .. . . . . . . . . yes 4th place was great and yes I did enjoy my trip to Bucharest (except for the match) but after the champagne had been quaffed and the lager swilled back in May, the one statistic that is still there on record is Everton's goal difference…………………-1. Every football supporter realise's (so surely a TOP manager must) it’s a fuckin fluke, how on earth did we finish 4th. For this and no other reason Moyes should stand up take a large fuck off pill and disappear. Beattie, Bent, Duncan. With respect, none are good enough in a week in week out sense. WE NEEDED TO BUY A STRIKER AND WE DIDN’T. But Moyes won’t go for two reasons. 1. he believes his own hype (he’s a good manager!) and 2. Bill Kenwright loves him! Why? Well the reason is a simple one . . .he like Bill doesn’t like spending money!) Very well. See you in the Championship and probably beyond. We could turn in to Man City. Helen Watson. (20/10/05) Anyone Travel to Everton games From Barnstaple? Hello I recently moved to Barnstaple in North Devon, and am finding it impossible to get to Goodison (train is a rip off & I don't drive). I have had a look down the list of supporters clubs but was unable to find one that operates in my area. I was wandering if you knew of any others that pass through/near to Barnstaple. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers. Jon. (20/10/05) Tommy Grav Me and our John will chip in £20 a week towards Tommy Grav's £90k and we will pick him up and take him to the match to save on his petrol. Just get him back at all costs. Any other offers of help? Paul and John in St. Helens. (20/10/05) Teflon It's happening again this is pathetic. I haven't called 4 DM's head, but if he persists to blame collective failures on an individual then I will. Will Yobo be the Nyarko mk II? It was Yobo who went to tackle Defoe before he crossed the ball. Where was Weir/Ferrari when Jenas headed in the 2nd goal? We need a scapegoat and Yobo will do. DM knows the fans would buy it, because we are like that. If 2 goals are Yobo's fault, I happen to think that he had a reasonable game at Spurs compared to last season, it does not nullify the fact that we have lost 7 matches on the spin without scoring a single goal. Next to come is Chelsea - an easy 3pts then with bags of goals. There are several others to blame here other than Yobo who wasn't responsible for selling Gravesen or not replacing him (which was the beginning of our demise) or not buying a striker when we are opportune to do so. Moyes had conducted himself with dignity in the face of overwhelming ineptitude but his poor judgement and the ensuing desperation is just about to rob him of this dignity. Abi aka blackandblu. (20/10/05) The State of Our Club Has anyone read the article by anon on the toffeeweb site regarding the way the club is run on both a managerial and academy level? If the person who wrote this is even half right and reading between the lines the writer has some involvement in the club at some level then as a top flight football club we are doomed. I read the article with an open mind and my stomach was churning as it began to dawn on me the real sorry state of the club, I wont go into detail but urge everyone to read the article and think carefully about its content. I have been watching EFC for over 38 years and cannot remember such a poor team, you get a gut instinct about your club and even in the dark days of Smith, Lee, Bingham et al i always had an air of optimism that we would pull through. Unfortunately no matter how hard i try i cannot see us getting out of this one, and even if we do what does the future hold, if the content of the letter by anon is true then the club is in drastic need of a massive overhaul and maybe the only way to achieve this is for us to take the drop and expose the shambolic cloak and dagger way in which the club is operating at present. DAVE LYNCH. (20/10/05) Forever Blue I have recently had a holiday on a small Greek island called Skiathos. Great holiday, I watched the Man. City game in the Agusta Bar in Koukounaries, in the Southern part of the island. I was the only Bluenose (wearing this season's £60 shirt) amongst two dozen Mancs. I must admit that they were as friendly as you like, but that did nothing to quell the usual anger, embarrassment and disappointment. I will support Everton forever, but come on boys, this is getting ridiculous. I notice that nobody will take a shot on goal (look at Danny Mills!!), it's like nobody will take responsibility. You are paid to do a job and be professional and accountable. For Christ's Sake Everton get your act together. A Little Less Conversation................ Forever Blue (A statement that has recently taken on some ambiguity). Dylan Morgan. (20/10/05) Davie Weir What
on earth is going on with Weir, has he forgotten how to jump? Check out
all the goals we conceded this season and see how many sailed over spring-heeled/out-
of-position Davey. Let's be honest, he had an absolute shocker on Saturday.
Isn't it time for Moyes to let him down gracefully and pass the armband
onto Neville, who does not give up until the last minute and without a
doubt is the most impressive of our new What Do You Think? Have your say! e-mail info@bluekipper.com |
