Absolutely Astonishing ! I have just read Moyes' comments, on your site, about our glorious Captain and I now believe he has truly lost the plot. Is he watching the same games as the rest of us? Bewildered Blue. (27/11/05) NOW THAT AUSTRALIA HAVE QUALIFIED FOR THE WORLD CUP FINALS NEXT SUMMER, IT'S TIME TO MAKE THE MOST OF TIM CAHILL IN A BLUE SHIRT. AS WE ALL KNOW OUR TOTALLY INEPT BOARD WILL CASH IN ON HIM ONCE HE HAS A FEW GOOD GAMES IN GERMANY. IT'S SAD TO SAY BUT I HOPE NONE OF OUR PLAYERS GO TO THE WORLD CUP AS THEY WILL BE MOVED ON IF THEY HAVE ANY GOOD GAMES. ACTUALLY COME TO THINK OF IT...THE WAY WE ARE PLAYING AT THE MOMENT... LETS HOPE THEY ALL FUCKING GO!! DAVE VIVYAN. (27/11/05) The moaners We are without a doubt the biggest wingers. If we don't moan something is not right. Last year we finished in Europe, not good enough. Now we want the head of the man who took us there? The expectations of some are beyond belief. Thank you. Go across the park to the other lot you will fit in well with the wankers who have lots of spending money. We are doing OK with limited resources in the words of the beatles got to get better all the time, Patience my fellow blues. COYB. John Lea. (27/11/05) Moyesy please listen - there ain't time For Auld Lang Syne. When I said ' nearly got a team' 3 weeks ago (05/11/05) I don't think I was wrong, but partly injuries and partly bizarre selection prevent us playing it. Let's face up to it. From the back - Hibbert is way out of his depth in the premiership and everybody knows it. Loses the ball for so many of our goals against, and can't cross to save his life. The poor lad's living in a state of abject funk. Weir is finished. His last completed pass was in the 20th century. Yet we paid good money for Kroldrup, 'whose time will come'. What must he be thinking when he watches? Kilbane is an embarrassment. Bent would not be taken by many Coca Cola sides and has a terrible on the pitch attitude - 'whinge but don't get up and chase the ball'. Goodbye. McFadden also - what can you say about him. At least Kilbane tries. And by the way Moyesy, don't waste your time singing the praises of Richard Wright. Nice lad I'm sure he is, but Everton goalkeeper he should never be. If he's so good and valuable - sell him. Selection. Last year Yobo sat on the bench while Weir and Stubbs played. For heavens sake why? Yobo defends enough for both of them. And then he even tries to pass it to a blue shirt. He is the only player we have that a top three team might want - but couldn't get into the team last year - joke. This year Yobo heads every ball clear and runs for every interception. If Weir goes near the ball (rare) he loops it up to their midfield on the centre line so they can have another go. Yet we paid good money for Kroldrup, 'whose time will come'. Are we waiting for some sort of crisis to play him? If so, what sort of crisis?? How would being in the bottom three do as a crisis? Are we holding him back for next season in the Coca Cola? And when Ferrari was available Hibbert still got in the team. Anyone who's seen football knows that Ferrari is worth two of Hibbert. Plus. Our approach to matches. They say 'defend from the front' - good and true. But the bigger truth in good sides is 'attack from the back'. If you've got a back four that can't make a pass then you've got no hope of attacking. Since we're always defending and always give the ball straight back, forget worrying about the Beattie's of this world - they're just the front line of our back ten as we play now. Come on Moyesy, get into the here and now. Stop picking the proven hopeless ones - never mind 'for auld lang syne'. You've got some decent players and some complete and absolute no-nos. Never mind if they were once good, or going to be good, and for heavens sake never mind if they're Scottish. Have a drink with them at Hogmanay by all means, but meanwhile - put out the best team you can, NOW. Before it's too late. Peter Hall. (27/11/05) Moyes For me the fella should have gone at the end of last season, (not a knee jerk reaction to recent results). His lack of technical and organisational skills have been evident for over 18 months now. What goes on in training? The results from Xmas 04 to present should send alarm bells ringing in people's heads. I do fucking care that he has red hair! We seem to be hitting all time lows under his guidance. Get rid. Col. (27/11/05) Awesome Albion Annihilate Davey's Dipsticks The
Baggies were awesome, some compared them to Brazil at their best, some
compared them to the Real Madrid of Puskas and DiStefano, some compared
them to the world cup team of '66. Yes, Everton made them look that good.
Weir stood strong, head and shoulders above every man on the pitch, he
just missed all the headers, was a bit slow on the turn and defended so
deep the linesman impaled himself on the corner flag. Yobo displayed great
athleticism and determination but always in the wrong place and when ever
he did get near the ball demonstrated tremendous command of the sky bound,
sliced clearance. Beattie, known affectionately as Lard A*se, Biffa, Playtex
or just plain old That Fat Ba*tard, lived up to expectations as usual.
You can always rely on him to be abject cr*p and blame the rest of the
team for not placing passes exactly on to his, usually broken, big toe.
I noticed him publicly cursing his team mates to offset the blame for
his own slow, cumbersome wallowings. The Disciples are getting nervous Is this what they call the ‘Ultimate test’ of loyalty and character ? Because despite my unwavering hope that David Moyes is going to take the next step to greatness I am now beginning to have doubts. I was embarrassed after Saturday’s game. As others have said when you pull on an Everton shirt you had better want to die for that shirt for the full 90 minutes. That said I have to now wonder what is going through the players minds regarding David Moyes when after taking 7 points from 9 and fielding our strongest team, we go out against West Bro with a different formation and players. The first 20 minutes showed West Brom were very nervous and there to be attacked yet we let them gain confidence and get into the game. Arteta has been playing wide right. Even on the EFC web page Moyes was talking about his skill out there Van Da Man wide left. Arteta is enjoying the role and looking to try and get into the Spain squad for the World Cup as well as building a relationship with Tony Hibbert. As is Van Da Man with Phil Neville ( until our left-backs are fit ). Only Cahill was missing from the midfield so why didn’t Moyes leave everyone to play in their position. The positions they have been getting used to and playing well in for the past 3 games ? Van left, Arteta right, Davies middle and then simply replace Cahill ? Ossie, Kilbane ( he plays there for Ireland ) Lie Tie etc straight in. Yet Moyes moves 3 players around including Arteta back into the middle, moves Van right and then starts with Kilbane on the left instead of McFadden. Despite what people say about Jimmy Mac as least he has a go at defenders and again could also have been replaced later in the game if it was not working out. Also he could have inter-changed wings with Van Da Man. Bent starts the game yet has not been included in the squad recently due to his attitude, with Fergie left on the bench. Yet Fergie comes on at the end ? If he is fit enough to play the last 25 minutes then he should have started and we could have been 1 nil up by the time he was replaced by Bent. I can imagine the boost it must have given West Brom when they saw that Beattie and Fergie were not spearheading the attack especially after their recent performances. Moyes takes Beattie off for Fergie !!!! Beattie is just getting back to his best. He has scored 2 goals in the last 3 games. His confidence must be rising yet he is taken off and replaced by his strike partner. What a kick in the nuts psychologically that must have been for Beattie. Had Moyes taken Bent off then maybe Fergie could have had a few choice words with Beattie plus continuing the development of their partnership. A relationship that has paid off so far. Yet despite all of the above plus certain people saying that the break did not help us to continue the momentum how can a team of 11 players in an Everton shirt walk out onto a pitch and put in a display like that ? My biggest worry is that the players are the ones who are motivating themselves in the tunnel for certain games and we then see that on the pitch, which is fine as long as Moyes motivates them for the other games as well. 7 points out of 9 – playing West Brom away to move up the league table another 3 places with a game in hand. A good win there then Newcastle, with confidence now really high - possible 10 points out of 12 - 13 out of 15 and the players are not motivated ????? Sometimes management is very difficult but sometimes it is not. Why didn’t David Moyes stick with the same team that had picked up the points and simply replaced Cahill, looking to take Fergie off at half time when we were a couple of goals up? The players must be as confused as everyone else which then leads to one very worrying conclusion that yes there really is a power struggle going on between the manager and the players, with the players wondering what system and tactics will be employed next. Apart from NOT changing a winning team which contains developing partnerships what about the psychology of the players ? I really hope Moyes has this under control but … Has Moyes spoken to Phil Neville re Roy Keane. I would have done the moment I heard he was leaving Man Ure as we need aggression in the midfield and his experience would be unbeatable. We need a midfield general and someone out there that the players would respect, be in awe of and learn from. Phil would know by now whether Keane would be a good or bad influence if he came to Goodison. If the worst comes to the worst and Moyes goes ( and I hope beyond hope it does not and Moyes takes us all the way ) then Roy Keane for player / manager gets my vote. Would you have wanted to come off the pitch on Saturday after that performance knowing Roy Keane was waiting for you ? It is all about respect. Just a thought and one I hope never happens because David Moyes must have the team under his control but has he? Has Moyes lost the respect of the dressing room? Someone out there who is on the inside and who reads Bluekipper e-mails must know so write in. Hanging in there as a Disciple of the Moysiah. Come on the Park End let’s really roll back the years. Paulie. (27/11/05) Why o why was David Weir given the captaincy of Everton fc this season? & not Tim Cahill, or Phil Neville natural leaders? Why has Weir never been dropped? Why did he accept a one year deal after a delay as I may & dread & suspect the captaincy was written in his contract for him being the only player to accept a one year deal apart from big Dunc! I am afraid our defeats & play all revolve around this veteran defender who in the past has served the club well but his premiership career is now clearly over. It is obvious to any football fan except Moyes & Irvine that This season Everton's defence has defended so deep all because of the slowness of the captain at the back. This is so obvious of how many offside's we get 1 against West Brom & the lack of cohesion between the midfield & any front two forwards & more important our full backs don't dare get forward why because every defender has to play to this slowcoach who's ball distribution is now like Tony Hibbert's but Tony has got potential & has time to learn in training but that's another story! I felt so sorry for Joseph Yobo at West Brom who even with a bad knock from that horrible fall he looked class. A word from Mr Hansen is correct YOU CAN NOT DEFEND TOO DEEP!!!! At the moment it is the biggest problem with the team not the only problem but other teams know the format of our weakness in the defence it so why not David Moyes ? Nigel Martin's toes must be very sore as most of the defenders stand on his toes nearly every game. it would be interesting to know how many offsides we have had this season? I would guess at very few, & it is all based on Captain Weir's lack of pace & what gets most Evertonians fuming is we have Kroldrop who cost £ 5 million sat on the bench getting splinters in his arse while our useless finished Captain is picked never substituted {unless injured} ! The home game against Villarreal look at the first goal Captain Davy was left by pace & the ball was in the net! I am afraid all teams have seen that all are defenders know it so they have to stay deep to protect OUR CAPTAIN IT IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE! It
is not Everton's only problem but the main one Kevin Kilbane is also too
slow & why offer a three year deal to someone who scored one goal
last season in a successful team against a team Crystal Palace who were
relegated! He has now forgotten how to beat a man, run, cross a ball &
pass back what a lovely through ball to set up West Brom's 4th goal had
he forgot we were kicking the other way! or maybe he thought his mate
Mr Moyes had signed Robbie Earnshaw instead of Beattie! In effect our
problem is we run out with nine men every game & I would like to know
why Leon Osman who scored well last season has been sparingly used this
season after all he did score a few last season. Simon Davies needs time
to settle, but Osman must be cheesed off! I think Davy Jones or Mike Newell might produce more passionate teams than the present one Moyes has inflicted on us, his vision of giving Kilbane a three year contract and subjecting Evertonians to more pain is unfucking believable at a time when we have recorded some good profits he must have David Blunkett as his chief scout. He should save face and fuck off to Rangers with Kilbane and Naysmith and send Ball and Jeffers back here. At the moment we are utter dogshite and heading for the Nationwide and even the but of jokes about Europe from fucking Bolton fans as well as being out of three cups. I love Everton and haven't got time for anymore bollocks we want someone to bring back the glory days and give our fans something to feel good about fed up with excuses for shit performances we need a team to give us back our pride. Chris Simpson. (22/11/05) 48
hours on it is easier (hopefully) to write a salient piece on the debacle
of Saturday night. I have read all the other E mails today, and most of
them make valid points. I believe that David Moyes has it in him to be
a good manager, but, like others am beginning to waver. I have seen Kroldrup
play twice, at Motherwell and against Udinese. The man is class, full
stop. He should have had Davey Weirs place a few games ago, once fully
fit, or at least been given a run out against Boro in the Worthless cup,
or the ensuing two games - games we won, where there would have been less
pressure than Saturday. Nice one Davey Weir. Apologies for another totally inept performance from half the Everton team. I say half because half of the team that were humiliated by the Baggies make the other half look bad and drag down the decent players we've got in the side to their poor standards. I usually try and defend the lads following poor performances, but after Saturday's game I was just left fuming. If we get beat and the Blues have played well, or at least tried to play well, then we can't ask for more. If the spineless half dozen don't want to tackle, run, sweat, or make any effort for the cause, then go. Take pride in the privilege that they have been given to wear the Blue shirt of Everton Football Club. I don't want to hear apologies from the Everton captain. I want to hear the Everton captain screaming at Everton players during matches. I want to see the captain leading by example. I want to see the whole team coming off the pitch having run their arses into the ground. Every fifty-fifty ball should be contested. I want to hear the Everton captain telling us that the team gave everything. If I see that then I won't feel as bad as I did on Saturday night. Nil Satis Nisi Optimum. Nothing but the best will do. Should also read only very ounce of effort will do . Should also read nothing less than 100% will do. We know we've not got a team of world beaters, but I said after the Chelsea game that passion and honesty are priceless. The supporters give their all every week, so lets see the same passion and commitment from the players. Eddieparkend. COYB. (22/11/05) What Do You Think? Have your say! e-mail info@bluekipper.com |
