Anelka-my arse

How the bloody hell are we going to sign him even on loan when the guy is on £50k a week. Its another Owen story just to get us thinking the Board and David Moyes are "trying their best to bring quality players to the club". What a load of crap, if we cant afford Chris Sutton wages, Rob Earnshaw fee and wages and we haven't snapped up Matt Jansen what chance Le Sulk? We couldn't afford £1 mil on Anti Niemi which would have been a good long term safe buy. The Board has got little money to play with and the truth is they wont give any to Moyes because they have lost confidence in him. Lets just hope there are 3 worse teams than ours at the end of the season. WayneWales. (11/01/06)

Take Heart

I have decided to look on the bright side as one of my new years resolutions. As well as the last 3 results, I think there are a few things that have been said in the last couple of weeks that we Evertonians can take heart from. Here are some comments I have picked up on:-

James Beattie - Bluekipper 4/1/06. "I know I can make it as an Everton centre forward.¨ Good on you James - you´ve realised you have the opportunity of being counted among an elite group of footballers. I think you will make it too.

Kipper on Matteo Ferrari - ¨He made one tackle in the second half as if the player ( I can't recall who) had just raped his bird. He thundered in got the ball and went right through. He'll do for me.¨ Now I like the sound of that - sounds like passion to me - I believe Italians are very passionate people (as well as the Spaniards and Portuguese).

Talking of passion - Duncan Ferguson is a passionate footballer. Yes James - he has ¨been a legend at every club he has played for¨ - but he has only got one club´s crest tattooed on his arm! I think it would be good if Dunc was given the opportunity to tell the rest of the team why he did that.

Tony Hibbert said that as a local lad he was ¨gutted¨ at the derby result (so was I Tony) - (as opposed to what David Weir said - ¨just another defeat¨- wash your mouth out David!)

Michael Arteta is a class act and potential skipper of EFC, and I think we have yet to see the best of Nuno Valente. Andy Van der Meyde (he´s got pace) will make a big difference as will Lee Carsley when they are fit.

Joseph Yobo and Li Tie are good soldiers as is Phil Neville. Tim Cahill is finding form and that means goals: and it looks like the big man will stay for the rest of the season. So things on the pitch are looking up. I put it all down to the players - they are playing with passion (forget about commitment - passion is what will make the difference). They will get the club out of this mess in the short term.

Transfers - Lee Hendrie would be a good acquisition for the Blues. Get him and Tim feeding off James Beattie. In the long term - we need a new board and a youth plan. Yes football is a business but sometimes in business you have to take a punt. Risk and Reward! I think we will see a punter buying the club in the not too distant future. And finally, yes, I believe we will be great again. My Dad (God rest his soul) an Evertonian since the 30´s, told me so and I believe him. Come on the Blues!!! Laurie from OZ. (11/01/06)

Moyes Is The Man

Never thought I would say this, but the fuccin moaning in the past month makes me sick being a Evertonian, Last year we were shite, finished fourth, never happy. We want to get rid of the crew who we thought were the cats meow, looking and reading the past media we are no better than the liverpudlians who we hate across the way . Watch out , keep it going, Moyes will be the next to get pissed off, no fuccin pleasing some people. thank fucc I live across the pond easy to block you moaning twats out . There is no man better than the one we have to make Everton a team we can be proud of. COYB. John Lea. (11/01/06)

Our Moyesy

How quickly we all forget. At the end of last season we found ourselves in 4th spot. We found ourselves having taken 4 from 6 points against Man Ure (who else did that last season) and only narrowly lost to the eventual champions. The squad was threadbare and being realistic lacked some real quality – yet we still managed results and a top 4 finish. There is only one reason all of the above occurred. That reason is the man who won manager of the year for the 2nd time in 3 seasons – David Moyes.

For all of you who think Moyes is not the future of EFC, I challenge you to come up with a better option. Moyes lives and breathes Everton Football Club. It seems to me that he loves the club more than a lot of our quick to judge supporters. It is this passion (and I believe managerial quality and nouse) that will see Moyesy succeed at EFC (or any other club smart enough to have his services). Many of you say that when the lads are playing shit they have to be told – via booing or slagging them in the press. If we know they aren’t playing well do we honestly believe they have no idea and think they are on fire? Get real. If you want them to know we are unhappy stay quiet after a match instead of booing them – what does booing achieve other than helping the squad to feel that their supporters aren’t behind them. On the other end of the scale when they win we still aren’t happy. They have wins against Sunderland and Charlton and all we talk about is lack of the opposition’s quality.

Wake up Everton ‘supporters’! Get behind the Manager and his squad instead of bemoaning the lack of transfer action and results. I love Everton Football Club and it would be great to read some positive feedback for once. Go the Toffee’s! I’m with you every step of the way – goods or bad!!!!!!! Glenn – Sydney, Australia. Questions must be answered!

If anyone from the club is out there and listening, Please answer the following Questions! This club had its' best opportunity for 25 years to partially clear some debt and buy some decent players! Why has the money been squandered on second rate players? The knock on effect of buying such players, cost the club and fans a golden opportunity of prospering even more, by failing to progress in the Champions league! Why was this allowed to happen? and look where we are now!

Why are we still employing 1st team outfield players of 38yrs, 35yrs and 34 yrs? Why have'nt they been retired or sold or put on the coaching staff? Why are we now in such financial 'dire straits' that we are attempting to bring players in on short term loans? and in particular why Nicholas 'the sulk' Anelka?..........yet another backward step! Look at Spurs and Manure.........young players for the future...........then look at our squad its' a disgrace!

Bill Kenwright, Keith Wyness,,,,,,,,,,,,what happened to investment without the 'Rooney' money? If you can't hack it (fu_kin sack it) and give someone who gives a f-uck a go! There is but one decent player who may be available on loan............. and would keep us up with his goals Carlton Cole (Chelsea). If we get him, and his goals keep us up! My suggestion would be :- Kenwright resign.......... and let Gregg and co! have a go! He can't do any worse!............and more importantly we need to replace the current 'crud' with quality players. Mal (trueblue) but not holdings!

My View On The Views

Firstly I want to second Mike Con's notion of Kevin Latham for the board. His article on 7-1-06 is spot on! Now I am going to give my (humble) opinions on the articles posted on 10-1-06 (before mine, obviously).

Find the Cash for a Striker or Else! by Suzie. Biggest crisis in our history (she says their history but I'm a real blue, I say "their" about other clubs not the blues) - Read Kevin Latham's article on perspective please, what a stupid comment. Beattie on the bench for the Millwall game because he played four games in eight days (why the fuck does he take penalties by the way?) which, I'm sure you will agree, is a fucking lot. He deserved and needed a break. Duncan was on the bench because, as he has admitted, his body can't cope with playing week in week out anymore (whether it could in the first place is debatable). You are, understandably, concerned about us being relegated so resting our “best” players in the FA Cup to avoid injuries is not such a shit idea because, at the end of the day, we don’t have a prayer of winning it anyway (Chelsea, United, Arsenal and the shite are the only teams with a chance of winning it because they are that much better than everyone else). What is the point in Moyes signing Ugo Egiogu when we already have a centre half who is past his best (Weir – been a great servant) or Chris Sutton, he is just an older Beattie and the fans will slate him for shit performances (he will only give shit performances because he is shit!)? You are right, we do need a striker (I would love to see Robbie Keane, minus the fucking stupid goal celebration, or preferably Dirk Kuyt in a blue shit) but they are going to cost £8 million plus. We could get Nugent but look at Rasiak at Spurs, he’s been shite.

No Incoming Transfers by John. Halifax (Wakefield Blue) – Why did you put your from Halifax then? Make up your fucking mind. We bought a striker in January last year, Beattie (I know he has been a bit of a flop), it’s not like Moyes isn’t fucking trying. Realistically there aren’t many 20 goal a season strikers around. Look at the leading scorers for the last few premiership seasons, there is always Henry, Ruud VN, Owen and Shearer and one unexpected, examples Andy Johnson (shite), Phillips and our very own Beattie. We would most likely sign a mediocre striker, Sutton, and hope that he plays better than his average ability. True about the cash injection though!

Useless Moyes by B. Lea St. Helens Only somebody from St. Helens (I’m a Wiganer) could come up with a dumbass comment like that! If Moyes is sacked who are we going to get in? All successful managers have had time to build their clubs, unless they have shit loads of money. Look at Ferguson, Wenger, Allerdyce and Curbishley (took them from 1st division shite to premiership shit). We have to stick with him, simple as that.

Di Silva Passport by Tomski Nothing to say.

Millwall Replay by Pauline Which Everton team have you been watching this season? We would not have gone in at half time 2 up. We have only scored more than one in a game twice this season.

Play in the Yellow Kit by Tim. Nottingham Nobody cares which kit you bought your son for Christmas! Did it take you all day to think of that comment? Unless you have something that may interest somebody don’t bother!

Newspaper Reporters by Jim Farley of Stutley This is very true mate. The match reports in the Daily Post (the paper I get) are nonsense. The fella’s who write them just seem to write what the fans want to hear. If we win we played well, if we lose we were shite. For example, we recently beat Charlton 3 – 1 but we still played shite. It was less shite than most games but shite is shite. But the reporter’s analysis was that we were great, played flowing football and cut through Charlton at will when in reality we scored from three set pieces and Charlton had nearly
as many chances as us.

How not to use the Transfer Window by Blue Bill Cannie The Silva situation is quite simple, he needs a European passport to play in England, and he doesn’t have one. He doesn’t need one to play in Spain and will qualify for one by the end of the season when he will join the blues. You name a pacy finisher who wants to come to Everton, whose club don’t want him, who won’t cost much, does not have high wage demands and is proven in the premiership and we will sign him. If it were that easy everybody would have a player like that. You seem to be living in a dream world mate where everything goes to plan and we would win everything. Reality is being an Evertonian at the moment is hard, we are one of 10 or 12 clubs in the same “also ran” situation.

Team Selection by Mike Kendrick. Martyn and Yobo had niggling injuries so were rested because the premiership is more important than the FA Cup, it is just more games for a tired set of players. You are living in cukoo land pal!

Taxi for Moyes by Chris Simpson. You are talking bollocks mate! Just because we are having a bad season does not mean that in the long run Moyes is not going to make us a powerful club again. You can’t always just look at the short term. Kendal gradually built the mid 80’s side over a few seasons as did Ferguson at United and Allerdyce at Bolton. Moyes is doing the same here! Have some fucking faith! Last season Moyes made us an excellent team, he has not become a bad manage in one season!

Where’s our Silva? by Jim Fitz. Nothing to say.

I don’t think we can help ourselves… by NewYorkBlue (it’s alright for some). There is no certain time where you need a leader more than others, every football club needs one all the time. You are right that w don’t have one. When Moyes has been lucky enough to have a fullish squad to choose from (when VDM was fit) we won 4, drew 1 and got battered by West Brom. He knows the team he wants to put out, I think, - Martyn, Hibbert, Valente, Yobo, Kroldrup, Neville, VDM, Cahill, Arteta, Beattie and Vaughn playing 4-4-2. Also, the very busy Christmas period meant that he had to use all of his squad. We are all Evertonians, we all want the same thing. Can’t we get behind Moyes ant the squad and stop complaining like fucking kopite gobshites. Dan, Wigan. (11/01/06)

Biggest crisis

In response to the email from Suzie (10/01/2006) The comment that “Everton, today find themselves in their biggest crisis in their history” is laughable. Has avoiding relegation twice on the last game of the season been forgotten? Has a team that included Gareth Farrelly, John Oster, Carl Tyler, Mitch Ward and Tony Thomas been forgotten? Smith spent a phenomenal amount of money and we never got close to the heights we have reached under Moyes. I think too many people are taking their feelings of disappointment at not building on our unbelievable success of last season and are over reacting big time to our current plight.

We have the most talented group of players I can remember for a long time (I do agree that we are in desperate need of a striker but the rest of the team is taking shape). We signed a lot of players in the close season and it takes time for these players to gel and work as a team but we have seen glimpses of what they are capable of already this season. With a bit more luck (disallowed goals, bogus penalty decisions, Danny Mills scoring a screamer from 30 yards) we would be in the top half of the table, a position I believe we will find ourselves in at the end of the season.

Taking a team like Everton (over the past decade anyway) and achieving a 4th and a 7th place finish in 2 out of 3 years is no fluke. Get behind the manager and get behind the team. If I’m wrong and we do end up in a relegation battle then what’s new, we’ve been here before…many times, hardly the biggest crisis in our history. Jon, London. (11/01/06)

January Window

Although I'm leaving in Surrey I am a scouser from Croxteth and it's getting harder and harder as the season goes by trying to back Moyes up against the shandy drinking southerners (no disrespect to the Blues supporters down her) especially as he's coming up with some right shite about the hard work the boy's are putting in game after game and things will turn when we get the injured players back. Look David your talking crap because if we don't get someone in before the end of january we'll have to rely on giving the Hans Segar type goalkeepers back handers to push a couple of goals in like he did for us when we surprisingly beat Wimbledon that time 3 - 2.

I went to the Millwall game on saturday and we were lucky to be only 1-0 down at half time. Marcus Bent and McFadden are like my arse in fact I think my arse could do a better job of sticking one in the net. Bent has lost all heart and I was one of the many who booed him off the pitch at Millwall cos he looked like a man who couldn't give a toss about the club as all he wanted was his wage packet. McFadden flatters to deceive beating a player then either pushing the ball too far ahead of him or being pushed off the ball by a bloke half his size.

Times are bad if we are relying on a shit jock (McFadden), a crap 1st division player (Bent ) and a rookie 17yr old (Vaughan) who is still struggling with injury. As the lady Suzie said in her mail no club is to big to go down and if Moysie can't see that then were in the shit big time. What he needs to do is stay up in the seats like Sam Alladyce does and see the whole picture and what crap the the supporters are having to put with. Come on David do us proud and sign a forward even if it means giving him a few quid more than you wanted to and let's stay up in the Premiership and look forward to the World Cup without thinking about next season when we could be visiting the like's of Plymouth and Hull. Steve C. (11/01/06)

Time for Dunc to step aside.

Now I know big Dunc is held up as some kind of god amongst a lot of supporters but surely by retiring this month his substantial wages could go towards paying for some fresh legs that might actually contribute more than 20 minutes a game? How many times have we heard that we were unable to meet the wage demands of one player or another? Ok we’d still need blue bill to dip into his pocket but surely this would help matters considerably? As for the demands that Moyes be sacked, how many managers who have taken us to 4th and 7th in the league over the last couple of decades? The grass is always greener……if you think a new man coming in halfway through the season to deal with a group of players he has no idea about is going to win us more points in the second half of the season than the first then you’re a nutter! Alec (Skywalker is a blue). (11/01/06)

Possible Solution

Please get rid of Marcus Bent. You can get £2m for him. Then do a swap with Rangers for Lovendkrans with McFadden. Sell Kilbane to Celtic. Bring in Anelka for £5m and bring Gravesen back for six month loan with possibility of permanent signing. We will not only get out of trouble. We could just make a last gasp for a uefa spot with van der meyde to return as well. Mohammed Akhalwaya. (11/01/06)

Anelka - No

I've just heard something FUNNY on the radio. Moyes has just said that he's looking to sign the redshite reject Nicolas Anelka. Well Moyes, I have news for you, you haven't got the dosh to buy that money grabbing piece of shit. The thought of that redshite reject bastard wearing one of my ROYAL BLUE shirts, well lets just said I wont me a happy bunny. Bluenose Bimbo. (11/01/06)

Ground Money

In response to Amanda Gill's e-mail. Any money raised towards a share of a new stadium would be completely separate form funds that are readily available for transfers at present. That is because it would be generated from the sale of Goodison and additionally, a long-term mortgage secured against our share of the new stadium. The remainder of the required funds would be through sponsorship, investment and public funding. The new stadium will undoubtedly raise much needed revenue for the club. It really is that simple. Why are so many fans finding it too difficult to grasp? Comments like 'if we have money for a new stadium, then why do we have no money for players?' do not bear merit. COYB. Lee Spargo. (11/01/06)

Unbelievable!

YET AGAIN Everton are going to disappoint in the transfer market. After even Moyes coming out and saying that we need players. It is obvious to most of us that we are in dire need of one, even two strikers during January and I'll be gutted for us to miss this opportunity to strengthen our 'squad'. I know it isn't just me that sees Everton fail in the transfer market every year, and I actually think that they haven't got a clue. Every year they fuck up most of our main target transfers and end up with some 'arl arse carthorse just for the sake of trying to shut the fans up and keep us sweet, I think it's pathetic.

The board need to get their fucking arses in gear and give the manager some cash to spend - take a gamble - but get SOMEONE! Why can't we scout like other teams and try to root out bargains from the lower leagues or overseas? Why can't Everton get these players on the cheap like other teams do? Surely, with Moyes now saying "The people I would prefer to bring in are not available" we're not just going to give up. I hope to God he didn't just have a few players on his list and if he doesn't get them then we'll get no-one. I really think it's time for Moyes to go if he doesn't start to get resourceful. He's done a magnificent job in the last few years but now it looks like he's brought this club as far as he can. Come on you Blues. Andy in Bootle. (11/01/06)

Gravesen - Yes

Please buy Thomas Gravesen he is unhappy and good. Mick Askey. (11/01/06)

Anelka - No

It goes from bad to worse. First we here that there is no money for signings then I here we are in for Anelka. I know he can score goals but what happens when we do sign him and he rescues the season, I will tell you, he will start to demand a better contract which we cannot afford, whinge, whinge some more then move on to another club moaning about England and how he won't go back(for a couple of months anyway). What is the point we will be back in the same mess a few grand lighter in pocket. Dav. Wallasey. (11/01/06)

Find The Cash For A Striker or Else!

Lets not beat about the bush, Everton, today find themselves in their biggest crisis in their history. We are teetering on the relegation zone and as Wolves, Leeds, Sheff Wed, Notts Forest etc know, no club is big enough not to go down. Once you are down there, there is no easy way back. Gone will be the big SKY TV money, crowds dwindle. Yes you will always have your hard core 15,000-20,000. But that won't be enough to pay for the contracts of the Cahill's, Arteta's Yobo's and Beattie's. These players will move on to other Premiership clubs. Not a very good scenario, but it's right around the corner. It will only be averted if the board get the money for the manager to buy a striker or two.

When other Premiership top clubs are resting their star players in the FA Cup, Moyes tried the same by resting Beattie and Ferguson. This backfired big time, as the two clowns who replaced them couldn't score in a brothel let alone against the bottom Championship one team. Moyes seeing that we wouldn't score in a month of Sunday's brought his two stars on to bail him out. Baring in mind that Duncan Ferguson is that vital to Everton that as a near cripple and old age pensioner, he is still the best leader of the line at the club. The manager had only said the day before the Millwall match: "We have had a look at the situation and he will not be suitable for this game." A bit embarrassing for the manager of the People's club. Fuck knows were we would be if Big Dunc had just retired just before Christmas.

So now we know we can't score a goal without Ferguson and Beattie playing up front. What happens when either of them get injured or suspended and are out for a month or so. I'll tell you we'll lose all our games in that month and end up in the bottom three. We can't rely on the other teams below us being worse than us anymore. Forgetting Sunderland because they are down, the other three clubs in the shake up have bought in the last few days to strengthen their teams inadequacies. West Brom have put big Ugo Ehiogu in defence and Birmingham have found the money to pay Chris Sutton's wages. Not the greatest of signings, but better than ours. Now we look at Portsmouth, who with the injection of big money will allow 'appy 'arry to buy his way out of trouble.

At the last AGM, Keith Wyness painted the most colourful picture about Everton's finances, telling Evertonians that Everton FC were now listed as one of the 20 richest clubs in the world. His words. Everton had turned the tide. So what happened Keith? All your efforts on the corporate side, the great sales from the megastore, the sale of Rooney and Gravesen. It means Jack Shit, if you can't raise the money for a striker. Find the money or we will be relegated. Only recently we had another title to add to the 'club's firsts'. That being the worst club for scoring goals in Europe. It's not going to change, because we put 3 past a poor Charlton side.

Moyes must slam a few doors in the corridors of Goodison Park. It is that vital to get this money. A few seasons back, Kenwright was to have got £3m from his own cash to have signed Steve Lomas from West Ham. As it was the deal never went through, but get your hands in your pocket, Bill. Other wise you will go down in Everton's great history, as the Chairman who presided over Everton going back into Europe and being relegated in the same season. Suzie. (10/01/06)

No Incoming Transfers

I cannot believe that Moyes is not bringing anyone in while the transfer window is open. He goes to annual general meeting shouting a striker is main priority in the transfer window. I think he spent the money in the summer thinking one way or other Europe would supply us with some more cash. We have known for a couple of years now we need another striker. ( not only strikers also other dept's) How was he going to pay for Owen and the rest we were so called interested in? It seems strange other teams can find players but the ones our manager want are not available. He's had since the end of summer until now to find these players and make contingency plans if he unsuccessful with main targets. It makes me sick to see all the other teams bringing players in. We can't even get players on a free (Sutton), and clubs like Portsmouth getting cash injections. What the hell happened to ours? Another mirage on the horizon. John. Halifax. (Wakefield blue). (10/01/06)

Useless Moyes

So Moyes says no one will come in this jan window....pathetic...we need a midfielder and a striker urgent...can't wait til summer...sack him now he is crap............B. Lea. St. Helens. (10/01/06)

Di Silva - Passport

In answer to the aforementioned email, he doesn't yet hold a Spanish passport - and as such wouldn't be granted a Visa to play footy here. However, by the end of the season he will, and we'll have a handy player on our books FOP (Free of payment). Cheers Tomski. (10/01/06)

Millwall Replay

Just heard from a friend in London that Millwall are being given 4,500 tickets for the replay and that their web pages etc are buzzing. They reckon they will sell the lot so that they can come to Everton and take the piss plus they think they can win. A big night in store without a doubt. Should have started with best team and would have been 2 up by half time. Would have been a better trip with a win. Still a nervous disciple of the Moysiah re Arteta playing on the right instead of middle. Sack Bent now. Paulie. (10/01/06)

Play In The Yellow Kit

I bought my boy the 3rd kit for Christmas – looks really nice and I got it as it reminded me of the 70’s and the reserve kit back then – particularly remember a pic of Alan Ball in the yellow shirt. So why the hell, when there is a good kit available, do they insist on wearing that god awful grey thing? It’s horrible. My wife agrees too L. Yours, puzzled and sartorially offended. Tim. Nottingham. (10/01/06)

Newspaper Reporters

I am beginning to think that the majority of reporters spend their time in the bar, they certainly do NOT report on the games that I am at, and I have only missed one. Joseph Yobo has come in for some stick in some games in particular when he has been our Man of the Match, also living in the Midlands I compare the report in the paper down here to the paper published in Liverpool which at times is completely different. I am an Evertonian through and through when they are crap, I say so, and that has been most of this season. So come on Everton, get the reporters out of the bars. Jim Farley of Studley. (10/01/06)

New Ground - No Money

I'm not for this supposed new ground, but can some one tell me how much money has Everton have got to have before we go towards a new ground? We have to get it right on pitch by getting regular European football, which will bring good income towards a new ground. Am I missing something? Amanda Gill. (10/01/06)

How Not To Use The Transfer Window

...good point Toby Hewson; what's the story here? Can he run, pass, shoot and is he fit. If the answer to all of these are yes then where is he? If the answer is no file him under 'Per Kroldrup' as another waste of time. See how the big boys do the transfer window. Know who you need, know who you want, approach them early, get them signed...get them training and integrated with their teammates ASAFP!!!!!!!!!!!!!bobs yer uncle, good signing, may even play at the weekend!

...how do we do it? EXACTLY!!!!!The cavalry aren't coming, do you thing 'they' are going to give Moyesy any more money. We have lost out on Sutton (no bad thing), and Niemi(shame) because we are trying to wheel and deal with Richard Wright and Marcus Bent and no-one is biting. The way things look this could be make or fucking break GET US A PACY FINISHER NOW!!!!!!!!!!!

Big Dunc is showing Biffa the way, he's catching on as to what he is supposed to be doing, and god bless him he's doing it but needs some pace and quality assisting him up front; before you know it we would actually have a goal threat! Defence's don't like a big lad winning everything physical and a nippy little fucker in there too, making runs and feeding off him, with Arteta and VDM supplying, Tim supporting the front two and Neville (or Harry Hill?) with the armband, protecting the back four and moving the ball around, the pressure should be off the defence as the opposition are stuck in their own half helping their own under fire defence out...I have a dream blue boys and girls this is the way it should be, not shitting ourselves at the slightest attack, going a goal down and not coming back. We are Everton and we are better than this and we deserve better than this, Wyness and Kenwright you need to back him or sack him I'm afraid, I for one say back him and give him the financial support he needs, sack him and its manager after manager trying to reshape someone else's team, bitterness and fall outs, no dressing room, no team spirit, no wins and its drop out of the Premiership into the Championship or like Man City into division 2. Blue Bill Cannie. (10/01/06)

Team selection

At best this season we struggle to beat the most mediocre teams in the premiership, even when at full strength. So we are desperate for a good cup run, what happens?, Moyes drops our best keeper, our best defender, and our best goal scorer. Any one who thinks there is nothing wrong with the management is living in cuckoo land. Mike Kendrick. (10/01/06)

Taxi for Moyes

Just read Kevin Latham's letter all well said but getting behind Moyes now is like being part of the band while the Titanic sank. As he has been watching Everton since the early sixties (Like myself) I wonder if his seat has been facing the pitch this season, does he think Mc Fadden is the new Barn Door as he couldn't hit a cows arse with a Banjo. Moyes continues to make schoolboy errors and the reason we are shit is as much of our own making as anybody else's. The fans have been quiet for years as we have gone from one level of shite to another recently they have started to voice their opinion by booing off the team at half and full time. If the team deserves cheer I will give it but when your shite you have to tell them, if a waiter brought you a lump of shite on a plate would you thank him or do you say enough is enough I predict a riot. Chris Simpson. (10/01/06)

Where's our Silva ?

In reply to the email from Toby Hewson (Donde Esta Da Silva), I believe Anderson Silva was due to join us at the end of January but the latest news is that we have agreed to let him stay until the end of the season. Maybe it's the two sending's off he's had or the fact that we can't
fit him into our overflowing squad !!!!!!! Pity we can't get the info from our own club eh ?

I don't think we can help ourselves ...

Sometimes, no matter how much you hope for something, no matter how much you really want something, no matter how big your heart and how big a premium you put on loyalty, it just doesn't happen. It is in these times that real leaders stand out - they do the "unthinkable", they take
decisive measures, they lead from the sharp end. To any blue, we recognise that now is that time. I'm willing to give Moyes one last chance to be that leader. If not, I'm looking to Bill to make that step - and if not him - I'll sell my share to The Pie Man.

Moyes has his team now - he bought them or re-signed them. Martyn, Turner, Ruddy, Hibbert, Weir, Ferrari, Nuno Valente, Yobo, Kroldrup, Davies, Carsley, Naysmith, Bent, Beattie, VDM, Kilbane, Li Tie, Pistone, McFadden, Neville, Osman, Cahill, etc. He also sold Wayne Rooney and Tommy Gravesen.Bill has sanctioned nearly 50 million pounds worth of trading - cash in and out - and from a fans-eye perspective, we are not getting good return out of our playing of the market. It is also difficult to imagine what the preferred line up behind these investments is meant to be -
4-4-2, 4-5-1, 4-3-3 ...

If we started with a 4-4-2 of (assuming fit) Martyn, Hibbert, Yobo, Kroldrup, Neville, VDM, Cahill, Arteta, Davies, Beattie and Vaughan - it would at least let us judge the acquisitions and understand the plan. Our current selection policy seems neither rooted in playing to our strengths nor to counter the obvious abilities of the opposition - West Ham, fast and fluid - Notlob - big and strong.

Instead, we seem committed to rewarding players who meet Moyes' "honest professional" or "run until you drop" preferences. A failed approach. I
once played park football for a great bunch of lads. That was part of our problem. We were too nice. We could be one down at half time and then spend the tea-break tying ourselves in knots about what went wrong and what we needed to do to fix it. Jokingly, we called ourselves Middle
Management United. It was true. We lacked the captain of industry to lead us, the arrogant little prick to win games for us and the dogs of
war to stand up and be counted. Sound familiar to the latest offering at Goodison.

Now our travails in the Sunday league mattered not a jot - the pub was still there the next day - but our beloved club is in danger. If the worst happens - and it isn't outside of possible - we are not financially strong enough to guarantee a bounce back - no new stadium, better
players exercise their get-out clauses, etc. Speak to any Wolves, Leeds, Forest, Sheffield Wednesday fan. A Christmas wish and a New Year prediction? Hold our own against RS in the derby and three new players in - A proven premiership striker, a ball player and a fit young yard-dog to run the back line. If not my prediction of Mike Newell in March may be for the best. Seasons greetings ... NewYorkBlue. (10/01/06)

More Perspective

Great article, Re Kevin Latham 7-01-06. A copy should be sent to the redshite arse licking media. Remember when a young Ian Rush turned up at Goodison with his boots to play for the club he idolised and was told by Gordon Lee and Philip Carter that he would never make it as a footballer. Bloody Typical. They should both have been put on the next boat out of the mersey after that one. The fact that some of the redshites best players Fowler Macmannamen Owen Carragher where evertonians says something about the way Efc is run. The reshites mantra is, football and winning is more important than life and death. While Everton's old fart board of directors philosophy is "Oh no Claude after you I Insist" If the diehard Evertonians had run the club over the years instead of the old farts we would be still in the top six where we belong. I nominate Kevin Latham for the board. Mike Con, betrayed angry Blue. (09/01/06)

Moyes needs help!

David Moyes needs help in the Transfer market, we seem to be the joke club of the premiership, look at the comment: "We are too busy with training and matches". Why not bring in Walter Smith as football director? He did bring in quality players like Collins, Dacourt, Matterazi, Gravesen, Hutchinson, etc. Another point all my fellow supporters agree with is that the midfield pairing of Arteta and Cahill was the best since Gravesen's departure (nearly a year). So why change something that worked so well just to accommodate Neville? Colin Harez. (09/01/06)

Moyes and Left Backs

Moyes has got one thing in common with left backs, he always signs the shit ones. Valente, for example is the shittist player I have ever seen. Are you sure he is a football player, or has he faked some ones identity? Because to me he should be playing for tranmere reserves, Macca, Wales. (09/01/06)

Don't Be Conned

It was great to see Everton win against two equally diabolical sides and had we failed to do so we would definitely been looking for a new manager but as for Moyes being the best thing since sliced bread you have got to be fucking joking, we need Tommy back, a striker (Rooney) and a centre half so why are we looking to swop the goalie and bring in another left back, how many do we need for fucks sake, the only left back should be Moyes, left back in Scotland. I hope he is biggin up Kilbane so he will fuck off to Celtic as he is shite. lets not get conned anymore. Chris Simpson. (09/01/06)

FA Cup Run

Great result against Charlton last Monday. I've never spoken bad of our gafffer, but, I can think of at least six Everton players who played better than the lad Moyesy is raving about on the back of tonight's Echo. Here's hoping we can put a bit of a run together in the FA Cup. Let's go Blues. Eddieparkend COYB. (09/01/06)

Anyone Got Tommy Grav's e-mail Address?

Someone get hold of tommy grav's e- mail address and lets send him a few thousand e- mails to show who really wants him. Paul and John in St. Helens. (09/01/06)

Alan Green

Like most Evertonians I can no longer stand listening to any coverage on Five Live because of the biased pro- kopite drivel than Alan Green spouts whenever he's commentating on a game involving the blues or the sh!te across the park. I totally agree with Sam Allardyce banning the bloated waster from his ground.

I'm writing to 5 live to make sure they understand its not just Bolton fans who are fed up with hearing his biased + unfunny rubbish. Would you consider putting 5live's number and email address on the website/running a poll so that the BBC will get rid and let him take up lifelong dream of getting a job as the stadium announcer at Analfield.

No Transfers

Well here we are, 9 days into the window and every other team has started to recruit for the second half of the season and beyond. However, here at Everton we have the usual deafening silence. One of our supposed targets (chris sutton!!) has already signed for somebody else. When will our board get things right? Will we sign a much needed striker? Don't hold your breath, blues. Roll on deadline day when we pick up 2 or 3 no marks that no other fucker wanted. Dave V. (09/01/6)

Everton Wine

Lovers of the blues and Aussie red wine might be interested to know that there is a nice bottle of aussie red on the market carrying the name 'Everton'. The story is that a scouse immigrant to Australia in the 1850's named a valley 'Everton' because it reminded him of Everton Valley back home (must have changed a bit....). The valley now produces wine hence the title. You cant buy this in supermarkets but a Wine Shop in Crosby 'Culture Wines' sells it. An ideal present for any of your red nose mates.... Pete, Crosby. Christmas Holiday Ruined

Spent all of last week in Gran Canaria with my family and redshite outlaws. What an embarrassment Everton made this week for me. Walloped by Villa and the Red Shite (albeit Mesrs Riley and gutless Poll made sure they stitched us up again)and blushes only saved by the brilliance of Nigel Martyn, the industry of Beattie and the persistence of Tim. Things have 2 change and change big time if we are to survive never mind consider any trophies. Eamonn Hughes Belfast and ESCNI. (09/01/06)

Prove That You Want To Play For Everton

The Xmas period has not been one of our best over the last few years, infact we have played pretty crap over the period and into the New Year. I just hope that we can put it together and win a few games which will put some daylight between EFC and the bottom 3.

I ask this question of the Everton players,

1) Do any of you actually want to play for Everton??

Apart form Arteta, not may of you have displayed the "want". It's simple you fucking well should! So get your fucking fingers out of your fucking arses and start playing like you mean it!! Last season we played shite in the second half of the season, the brightest thing about this season is we cannot or, sorry you cannot paly and fucking worse. So lets see some good will this Xmas, not for the opposition but for the fans who put the fucking money in your pockets. Chris Perry. (09/01/06)
