The arse Well done the lads on a great victory against the arse. I would like to admit that i am not one of Valente's biggest fans but the past couple of games he's surprised me. i haven't really liked any of our left backs. I think it's a problem area for Everton but i can have no complaints about yesterday except Beattie's sitter but other wise everyone played very well. Well done boys more of the same next week in the cup. shoey1878. (23/01/06) Transfers Stubbs' return has led to speculation that
Brian Labone has been seen in JJB buying boots; Graeme Sharpe has called
off radio duty as has Ronnie Goodlass and Barrie Horne; Stuart Barlow
has cancelled his move to Morecambe and Davie Hickson has volunteered
for the squad against Arsenal. Rumour has it that Nugent has signed .....Emily
rather than David! Hello From Oz Hi Guys, Great site and all that, lets a distant blue in Oz get a feel of what's going on. You well scooped the Stubbs signing. Just wanted to know if anyone else was having any problems with Everton bet, the link on the Other site? ie when you get a couple of quid under your belt and think, shit should feed the kids this week they don't transfer the winnings back to your account, but it disappears out of the betting account. Is it the same dodgy site in Ghana that started redirecting my telephone calls that time I was researching an internet site and resulted in some very expensive over seas telephone calls? Kids didn't eat that week either. Any advice, don`t mind knocking on doors when I'm back in March, when I'll get in two home matches, and watch us stuff the red shite on some big screen in some pub hopefully full of red twats. Can't believe me luck. Cheers. Trev in Perth. (23/01/06) Paula Abdul 1 step forward, 2 steps back!! And the rest, tell you what while were at it, I think Claus Thomson hasn't got a club or Brett Angell may have one last season left!!! Harsh maybe but that is how me an the lads (all blues) feel. Credit where its due, Stubbs did a cracker job last year but that was last year an we've seen what goin on too long can do (Weir). After losing Kroldrup without playing him and selling Bent (the one step forward) I thought we would make a move or two in the last week of January but not this. Moyes tactically and motivationally seems to be educated, skilled and talented but his forays into the transfer market are completely 50/50 either successes or utter stinkers and his loyalty to certain players seems to not be in the best interest of the club. (Pistone's new contract, playing Weir & Kilbane in general) I don't want him sacked, he is still a relatively young manager with massive potential to make this club a bigger & better club. But I am uneasy that we cannot build on success. COYB. John Lloyd. (23/01/06) Alan Curbishley, Everton strikers and the future. Well, HE didn't learn from Jeffers then. Let's hope Moyes HAS learned from whingeing J and Marcus sit-on-my-bum-and-moan Bent. Also all of the fans and reporters out there who praised Bent for his 'tireless running' last year. If ever there was a player with an attitude problem it's him (Well, and also maybe Jeffers is close to the same whingeing class). Sure he's quick in a 50-yard sprint, but one sprint in ninety minutes doesn't make him a footballer. Radzinski was worth two of Bent - which is not much of a compliment. Neither could score in a . . . . football game, but at least Radzinski was a tryer. Never mind, as Moyesy says it'll be all right soon, as Carsley and Naysmith will be back, which will resolve our inability to score goals in a stroke. Get real - if Beattie (no problem, one of our few serious players), Ferguson (no goals and no prospect of them, great history if you've got a good memory for very bad times) and McFadden (joke) are our strikers then we are not even remotely a serious Premiership prospect. Thank goodness Yobo, Arteta, Ferrari and - er - the other good players can't speak the same language or they'd ask some awkward questions. Peter Hall. (23/01/06) Can't Believe It I can't believe what I am reading we resign Alan stubbs. We sell a international and buy back what wasn't good enough at the start of the season. What is happening at our beloved club. I see we are interested in Mark Viduka. Why not see if Peter Reid is available and maybe Sharpie could go up front instead of buying anyone. Instead of the playing in the championship we should just put a team in the masters. cheers. Pat. (23/01/06) What the F__k is going on Moyesy lad? We are not scoring enough goals.........so he lets a striker go! The squad is virtually down to bare bones at the moment......So he lets Kroldrup go! I hope he's got two players lined up to replace them or else we are going to have to put a put a ballbearing in the ball so that Beattie can find it, and if we have injuries we will finish in bottom 6 defo! And.........we don't want shite.......repeat no shite! I'm fed up of saying this..........we want a team for the future......to find success and build on it. NOT buy 3 sell the same 3 in the same season. Moyes has go a load of shite to get rid of at the end of the season. I'll name them again......Carsley/McFadden/Weir(too old)/Ferguson(too old-coaching staff)/Wright(all thumbs)/Martin(too old-coaching staff). And a final pop at Uncle Bill...........get the money, get the cheque book out, or F--k off back to Betty in Corrie. You're making Park Hampers look good! Mal. (23/01/06) I
kno' Bent's t'fer will attract a lot of biased comment from all fans.
They'll be quick 2 castigate Bent as was useless and lazy. For those selective
in their memory Bent cost £450K scored 7 goals last season and 1
this season. Contrast that with our cult hero who cost £4.75m (disregard
the £4m first time round), always crocked who scored 6goals last
season and yet to score this campaign. Yet they wont dare say he is useless
(for reasons beyond me but I can guess). Whatever he has said "I
can bring goals and am pacey, strong and good in the air", in his
time with us his goal record(on which all strikers are judged) is better
than your beloved 'big fella'. Good luck to Bent while I won't say he
was 'class', other than a handful of playa Nige, Tim, Mikky and Joey to
be precise, he definitely was better value for money than a lot of the
wasters left. The Park End v Millwall Great result, Great crowd in the Park End. Rolled back the years. Showed on and off the field. Great interview by Cahill on Sky Sports news especially when he spoke about holding onto 4th last year and other teams now hitting walls and how we are now thinking the way we did last year – one game at a time. Hopefully civil war in the dressing room now sorted and we can move forward together as one. Cheers everyone. Paulie, disciple of the Moyesiah. (23/01/06) Armchair Expert Hello all at Kipper. Still loving the site so keep up the good work! Just thought I’d mail in with an ‘Armchair Expert's’ opinion on the current striking options/rumours. Seems as though we are being linked with every striker, his mum and her cousin at the moment! But, thank god it’s not going to be ‘Le Sulk’. Out of those we are linked with I would like to see us buy Lovenkrands from Rangers. We could get him for a reasonable price and he’s scoring for fun at the moment. Admittedly this is in the SPL against lesser opposition (‘The Hoops & Hearts being the exceptions). However, he has played an important part for ‘gers in there champions league run and got the experience of playing against some top sides. He will require no adjustment to the ‘British’ style of football and at 26, is just about in his prime. Come on Moyesiah get in from him!!!!!!!!!!! Come on the Toffee’s, I know our spirit can see us in to the top ten. Cheers Lads. Martin. (23/01/06) Kroldrup If we don't recoup the £5 million we paid for him then somebody at EFC needs a bloody good kick in the bollocks, why did they sign him in the 1st place if he was shite???? I'm totally and utterly fucking amazed at this. I pray that we get a decent amount of money for PK so we can buy in a decent striker a.s.a.p (preferably not that arrogant french sulking wanker Anelka or R. Earshaw who can't get into the WBA side) Mr. Moyes PLEASE BUY PLAYERS THAT ACTUALLY WANT TO PUT THE EVERTON SHIRT ON WITH PRIDE AND PLAY FOR US. I'M SEETHING. Damien Norris. (23/01/06) Killer I have frequently e-mailed Blue Kipper backing players and find myself having to do it again. Whilst I'm not the biggest Kilbane fan in the world the stick the man received at the Millwall game was disgraceful. Yes he had a poor game, missed a sitter, couldn't pass 2 yards and couldn't time his headers, but i didn't see him sulk and hide somewhere he is always available never hides and never shirks. 2nd half Cahill runs down the left wing and just ran the ball out of play not a peep from anyone, Kilbane would have been slaughtered if it had been him. So I'll repeat it once again if you need to slag anybody off vent your anger at Davie Moyes he picks the team not Kevin Kilbane, so as long as wears the blue shirt and try's his best we should support him to the hilt. Regards. Kevin Jones. (23/01/06) Previous E-mails Just to say you all make valid points...... BUT come on PLEASE Just keep getting behind the boys,we are getting there. I know we keep edging it 1-0,but that's surely better than 0-4, we've had our share of those this season!!! Nuno, Kev, James Mc and Simon are not good enough, but when we climb up the league (already on our way) maybe, just maybe he will put some of our younger ones in??? Carsley back soon, along with Vaughan, who knows top 6 and then Moyes is the messiah again. DO NOT LAUGH!!! LET THEM GET ON WITH IT, we are fighting well and results will come good. Tim is well and truly back,James is getting there,Leon getting more confident and Nige still top 3 in the prem. LEAVE IT WE ARE OK believe. Chris (38 years a Blue). (23/01/06) I predict a riot The
transfer window may be open for another two weeks and if Everton play
their usual game of waiting till the last minute hoping that they may
get that transfer 'target' that little bit cheaper then forgive me fellow
Evertonians as I may be a little presumptuous. However I think that with
I also remember 'bids' for Alan Shearer, Stan Collymore and Dean Saunders. Moyes is not at fault for letting Marcus Bent leave, we made a tidy profit on a player clearly feeling the desire to seek his 9th club in 9 seasons. We should however have a contingency plan in place of recruiting a centre forward with pace considering our feeble goals tally this season. A quick glance at the premier league table does not disguise this fact coupled with our negative goal deficit. With Yobo away at the African nations, Tim Cahill expected to play as an unorthodox centre forward, Per Kroldrup either finding a pair of football boots that fit him, continuing his bench warming duties as his valuation continues to depreciate or being sold, we can always rely on our captain invincible to keep Henry and co quiet. The fans are too long in the tooth to put up with this whitewash and Echo sponsored gloss for much longer, the club is rotting to the core with little hope but continued mediocrity. When we proved our doubters wrong last season the pain of losing Rooney was bearable, at such times this loss is now being felt, not for the player as he chose his path but the realisation that the club is on a listless course with only the fans to keep it afloat. Peter Laing. West Derby. (23/01/06) Moyes - between the devil and the deep blue...fans? Moyes just can't win with some fans. He was getting slated every time he played Bent, everyone was telling him to get rid of the lazy fooker, never to play him again, and that we should have sold him in the summer and got £1.5m and when there was a rumour that Sampadoria wanted him for £3m they were screaming that we should bite their hands off. So he sells him, and gets £2.5m for him so then he starts getting stick off fans for selling him without having a replacement. Now he's sold him certain fans are hounding him to buy Trundle, or Nugent, or just "someone" as we need cover. And if he doesn't buy anyone, fans will get on his case for taking a huge risk with our club, for "dithering" in the market and missing out on players. So if he does buy someone and brings in Dickov, or Trundle, there will be yet another set of fans moaning at him for buying shyte, or for panicking and wasting our funds. And if we do buy someone and their scoring record for us is just as bad as our current players, they'll have a go at Moyes for buying that player because he's crap. And if Sutton suddenly becomes a scoring sensation those same fans will be so angry at Moyes for "missing out yet again" on a bargain. Sorry but for each fan, there is a different opinion about who we should play, in what position, and who we should buy, and in who we should sell, so whatever Moyes does there is always someone having a go at him and i'm glad that he, at least, is being a man about it and not panicking and getting on with his job his way. Don't get me wrong, I want him to buy someone too, in fact I'm sure that Moyes wants to buy someone, but for god's sake let the guy get on with his job without a committee of 40,000 fans giving him a hard time over every decision he has to make. ... and you know what the final irony will be? Marcus Bent could become Charlton's leading scorer and those same fans will be saying "Moyes should never have sold him...." Sack the Juggler. (23/01/06) Tickets For The Millwall Game Anyone
else had problems getting tickets for the Millwall replay? I am a season
ticket holder who has opted for cup tickets - paid for in advance of course
- to be sent to me automatically before each cup game. Marcus Bent I think a lot of fans have underestimated Marcus Bent’s contribution to Everton finishing 4th last year, the lad ran the line tirelessly on his own for nearly a full season enabling the likes of Cahill and Tommy to show their talents by having an extra man in midfield. This season ,besides Yobo and Arteta, everyone’s form has dipped. I acknowledge that he is at best a good championship player though we got him for 400k and sold him for 2mil, how much do you think we would get for James Beattie when his time come to leave the blues?. Lets hope that we have at least 1 striker lined up in January otherwise It would be another rod That Moyes has made for his own back. Cheers. Park Ender. c/o Marcus Bent Fan Club. (23/01/06) I'm An Evertonian HAVING FINALLY GOT ONLINE AND DISCOVERED THE SITE OF MY DREAMS. IT'S TIME TO INTRODUCE YOU TO THE BIGGEST TOFFEE IN TOWN. I've been an Evertonian for as long as I can remember, but being based down south isn't exactly ideal having found the boys at escala. I hope to remedy the fact that I haven't been to Goodison for a while. Well what can I say about the boys at the mo. What a load of shit, but I know we won't be relegated that's for sure. There are worst teams in the league than us and I don't think real Evertonians are contemplating COKE football next year. Having read quite a few emails, it only confirms what I knew all along. We have the best fans in the world and the red shit have got nothing on us. kopite scum. I hope i make the site with this letter as your going to be hearing allot from me. Taaaaaaaaar divies. TOFFEE95. (23/01/06) State of the Evertonation Just read your exclusive on Alan Stubbs signing. great, just what we need, another stop-gap. don't get me wrong, i love stubbsy, he epitomises everything you'd want in a blue shirt, but what worries me is that for a club with very little money we threw away 5.1million on an international defender, that by all accounts, is no better than a division one player. fiorentina, who are doing superbly in italy, want him. we all know how good italian teams are at defending (ac milan excluding), so why are we getting rid of this lad? is david moyes turning into mike walker? a few years ago this sort of management wouldn't have been put up with. but it seems that we're just happy to plod along with no real solution. what really concerns me is that there doesn't seem to be anyone stepping up from the reserves. maybe we really do need to go down to, finally, wake us up. god forbid. WE need to do something about this, its our club. as john lennon said, if everybody wanted peace, there'd be peace.. Kev Clarke. (23/01/06) Arm Chair Manager I am chuffed to hear Matteo Ferrari wants to stay at Everton and really hope he gets a deal with us that keeps him here. Remember what transpired with Michael Arteta - aren´t we glad we retained him! Here is the sort of team I would like to see fielded before the end of the season. Formation 4-5-1 or 4-4-2 or even 4-3-3 (I´m old fashioned) Martin /
Hibbert - Yobo - Ferrari - Valente / Arteta - Neville - Hendrie / Cahill
- Van der Meyde / Beattie. Repeat - Hendrie would be a good acquisition for Everton. I am getting ready to watch the boys on Fox Sports tonight - (11:40pm here) The last game I saw a live game at Goodison was v Arsenal (1-4). Not tonight - we are gonna roll them (I´m also an optimist). Come on the blues!!! Laurie from OZ. (21/01/06) Laughing stock What
the fuck is going on at Everton? First of all I can understand bringing
a player back to a club in the reasoning that he should not have gone
in the first place. ie big DUNC, but Pistone and now Stubbsy. As good
a player as he WAS can you see alex ferguson or any other manager and
board agreeing to such a deal ( keane ). Moyesy and co are worrying more
than myself at the moment with PANIC mentality. Why bring back a player
that is 34 years old and has hardly played any games this season, you
can bet the first real training session hell get the dreaded hamstring
pull and be out for weeks. It is bad enough having to carry Weir ( who
has been a brilliant servant to the club ) but is now way past it in the
pace of the premiership as it is today. I've just seen the news that we have re-signed Alan Stubbs from Sunderland as a replacement for Fiorentina bound (£3.6m) Per Kroldrup. That would bring us back to a similar defence that we finished last season with minus the injured Pistone for Valente and the added option of the on loan but apparently looking forward to going home Ferrari. Therefore with Yobo away representing Nigeria in the African Cup of Nations our probable starting back line against Arsenal will be Hibbert, Weir/Stubbs, Ferrari and Valente. With the game at the weekend to come on the back of 4 wins I should be optimistic, however to be honest, I don't know what to think. I am not slating Moyes, I think the guy has done a good job so far. I wasn't baying for his head after our start. I was however disappointed when we didn't sign a striker over the summer. I, like many got swept away by the tide of optimism Moyes created and expected the summer to be the turning point when we would clear out the dead wood and bring in some top class players. Who can honestly say that apart from not signing a pacey striker that they were disappointed with any of Moyes' signings over the summer? However one thing I was annoyed with, after seeing who did get a new contract, was that Stubbs was released. As for the new players. Arteta, I think, has done well, Neville has done well at times, I think he is a natural leader who may be trying to do to much. He has been sent off twice though when he should really have known better, Davies and Valente have been slow to get going, Kroldrup never got going, Van Der Meyde is crocked and Ruddy was always bought for another day. The problem might be that with the Blues starting so badly it was hard for the new lads to bed in. Winning breeds confidence and this has been demonstrated by the recent re-emergence of both Leon Osman and Tim Cahill. It is easy to criticise from the sidelines but hand on heart we know that instead of this it is important to get behind ALL the players. We don't pick the team, we are fans, supporters, devotees, for better or worse, through thick and thin etc etc. We all know who we want in but deep down we know that it probably won't happen. This though, is why I feel the fans have a right to expect more when, as opposed to sign a reject, we do like we did over the summer and spend a bit of cash. As Evertonians we don't ask for a lot but we know the tradition of our great team, therefore when the club spend £5m on a defender, £3.5m on a keeper or midfielder we expect them to start and to see a certain level of commitment and at least the level of performance demonstrated at their previous employer. I think it's fair that for £5m we should have done a lot better, the return of Stubbs only adds to this feeling. Spending money on players who maybe were not much better than what we have also seems to have been a mistake. Although I say this with the benefit of hindsight, we need a squad of players and if we hadn't of signed Davies I'd probably be bitching about that now instead. However with the imminent exit of Kroldrup and the return of Stubbs, on the basis of the sums reported this morning, this would see us lose out on £1.4m in the space of 4 or 5 months on a player who has played only twice. We can't afford to waste money like that. Is he really that bad? Is he unsettled? Does he have some pre-existing injury that has only come to light? What is going on? I raise this point as over the summer we 'missed out' on signing 'top players' such as Forsell, Belamy, and Parker for one reason or another, namely money or concerns for long-term fitness only to find ourselves victims of both circumstances, losing out on Kroldrup financially and having yet to see a fully fit Van Der Meyde. The thing about transfers is that there is always that element of a gamble. Things can look great on paper and turn out horribly in practice. Who would have thought that Veron would be so poor in England or that Henry, who was on the bench at Juventus and Viera likewise at Milan, would light up the Premiership. Through the years many players involved in both big money and free transfers have seen their moves end in failure. (Fleck, Dean Richards, Luque, Flo to Rangers, Marlet, Diouf, Diao, Mendieta to Lazio, Scheit to Celtic, Grabbi and Davies to Blackburn etc etc) Last summer we made some good signings, so far things haven't worked out as well as we would have liked the only problem is that Everton cannot correct a mistake by spending even more money on a replacement. We need to get a bit sharper in the transfer market without doubt but in the meantime we must back the team on the pitch 100% and be the proverbial 12th man. So the next time you think the board should cough up millions think of teams like Newcastle, Man City, Middlesbrough and in many respects Tottenham who have spent fortunes for little or no reward to date. Its one thing to be Chelsea, Arsenal or Man United and buy the best in the world but the managers of all 3 have been savvy and clever in the transfer market (Mourinho at Porto) while making mistakes along the may. The trick is to be successful more often than not, regardless of how much ou spend (Sam Allardyce) so maybe we need to reverse a trend that is not just a recent phenomenon and get a bit more clinical and hopefully lucky in the transfer market, sooner rather than later. Shep. (20/01/06) Is Moyes taking the P***? "I don't believe it" so we may be resigning Alan Stubbs, What youth policy has this club got Mr Kenwright? No disrespect to Alan Stubbs he is & always be a blue but Steve Watson is playing better at WBA! & most Blues would not want him back even though he played well at centre back & can score goals from set pieces! We have just let a Danish international leave with splinters in his bum to a top side in Italy top flight & we don't know the loss of money yet on our £5.5 million investment that has been treated appallingly by our peoples club manager. I bet it will be an undisclosed fee!!!! It may be obvious to fans that Kroldrop may have had harsh words after not being given half a chance & he has been shown the door after being left out I will give you a perfect example 2-0 up away at Blackburn against 10 men did he get the nod to come off the bench NO!!!! super slowcoach Captain Birds eye Weir was left on! Kroldrop was injured after ten minutes ankle injury at Villa even in defeat he was not the worst defender in an Everton shirt on that miserable day! Ferrari will be next his agent is stating he is regretting joining the blues I wonder why!!! Rapha the gaffer signed Kroldrup's partner Aggar & we did not rate him. Urm what is going on its very disturbing. We
need a fast defender a fast forward we should have the money Mr Kenwright
we have just sold Bent why did we not snap up Jason Euwel The rise and fall of our beautiful team I
am usually so positive about my beloved club, so much so that up until
3 days ago, I still believed that we could qualify for the uefa cup, given
a fine run of form. But now Bent has departed; a player who really deserved
better treatment from the club - he always had time for the fans and was
integral to last season success. Gone and with no sign of being adequately
replaced. Followed swiftly by the underused and perhaps overrated Per
Kroldrup, who maybe we should have retained for at least another six months.
When I read this, i began to panic. 'With Yobo gone and Weir injured,
who will play alongside Ferrari against Arsenal on Saturday?' What Do You Think? Have your say! e-mail info@bluekipper.com |
