Let Down

Dunc is not the only one who has let us down. We have not signed anyone, and we are blatantly in need of strengthening our numbers. We have not exactly been injury free this season... and our style of play at times can lead to suspensions. I cannot concede that there was no one that suited us as an option. It's just a case of tight purse strings again with a sprinkle of Bill Kenwright bullsh1t. One or two injuries in the right areas and we are in the sh1t. Our spirit has improved yes, but that is not enough to carry us through all the time. This lack of ambition and static mentality is gonna haunt us for another half season, and our young performing players like Cahill, Arteta, Yobo etc may look at that seriously in Summer. I doubt we will be in trouble relegation wise, but let's face it... that just isn't enough. Mark Warren. (01/02/06)

New Signing Spotted At Goodison

It's being said that the toffees are on the look out for a striker who has no contract. After big dunc's sending off this would seem more so on Dave's mind. This would enable the blues to sign a striker outside the window. I along with many others tonight I have seen a centre forward within the Goodison grounds who would only demand a fraction of the current wage structure if any at all. The only worries we have is his movement, though even that's better than we have. "BRING BACK DIXIE." Last spotted just outside the park end. cjk. (01/02/06)

Transfer Ball Ache

I knew we wouldn't get anyone. It's a sad state of affairs when a team like PNE sign Omerod to bolster their attack, and us Everton a premiership team cant even sign a F*&%ing striker or 2. Something needs to be sorted out really, since Moyes has been at Goodison all he seems to do is ship players out. I understand to some degree. But we needed a striker so bad. BT is in good form of late, but he doesn't really have a partner to play with, and now with Duncan out for a couple of games were f*&%ed. Seriously, also we have been fortunate of late thanks to a few goals from Leon and Cahill, but u know what, now it's goin to be hard.

As for Arteta saying about the next 5 games and getting into a European place, I just hope we survive relegation. Am just in disbelief, even teams like Blackburn manage to sign a few players. It just makes me feel ill. Sorry if I have offended anyone but this is just my opinion. The only saving grace is that we have a few good players. Earlier I was listening to the Wigan match, and with 2min to go I was thinking just bring on Victor give him a few minutes. But Moyes couldn't be arsed. What the hell goes on in his mind. I really do think he is a good Manager but sometimes I am just bemused by his lack of actions.

We couldn't even sign a championship striker, never mind a Lee Trundle. See teams like Brum risking it for that DJ campbell guy, good on Steve Bruce, i bet ye that lad gets a few goals. And we get FA. Ok maybe I have had a few too many Fosters now, but even in the morning I think I will still feel like this. Very disappointed blue. N.Ryan. (01/02/06)

Here We Go Again

O come on lads, you didn't really expect that there was any chance of any other faces except from True Blue Stubbsy did you?. We have done this same exercise over the last couple of years, wait until the last couple of days of the transfer window then its "damm! Didn't have enough time" excuses.

D M had 3 prime forwards to choose from: Nugent and Trundle would have walked naked to Goodison Park and Earnshaw admitted he panicked and signed for WBA when if he waited another day he would have signed for us. For around £3 mil he would have been a safe signing. All 3 will score goals in the Premier League, Earnshaw has proved it, Nugent will definitely and even at £4mill would be an outstanding investment even Trundle would have scored goals and how much would he cost? Just over a million quid!

Now then what have we got? the smallest first team squad and its just got smaller, thank God we had a decent January because if we hadn't we be in the bottom three with the smallest squad in the division. At the end of the season the Board needs to sort things out. DM has not got the "charm, charisma, vision" or whatever you want to call it, to attract the players we need to make an impact in the league. Why is it that he wont pay that "little bit extra" to secure the players, we are talking a couple of hundred thousand here not millions for the above players.

Do we need to change DM for a more "dynamic" manager? Do we need to find a Director of Football or General Manager to oversee transfers and general stuff leaving DM to coach the players? Because that's what he is, a coach not a manager. Personally I believe we need to progress, sorry guys DM is not our future. WayneWales. (01/02/06)

No Signings

It appears to me that anyone and everyone is signing players up from all over Europe and Africa while us poor blue fans watch in bewilderment at this. I cannot understand why Davey has not moved quicker than today to secure at least 2 new faces Centre back and a striker. Do the club think that we can creep up the table with a few nil nil draws, 1-0 wins, or slide back down by drawing 0-0 or with another defeat? Having been a committed fan for over 50 years I am concerned about things but will never stop the blue blood in my veins. Just very concerned about our future. A true blue. Alan in Runcorn. Considering those missing just goes to show what a good result our 'miniscule' squad achieved against the corrupt might of Chelski - though I thought it was Mourinho who wanted equal cover in every position? Ben Patchesa. (01/02/06)

Agent Moyes

I totally agree with Joey's letter. The fucking redshite are now pissing themselves referring to the custodian of our club as Agent Moyes following on in the tradition of agent Johnson and agent smith. I wanted Moyes to be a success when he first got here but I don't believe he knows what he is doing. I hope he makes a brilliant last gasp signing and proves me wrong but I fear he may only buy another fucking malingering shithouse who will leech off the club. As for who else surely there must be a genuine Evertonian like Ian Snodin etc who can take our club back to the top whats our motto? Chris Simpson. (31/01/06)

Six buds and a Chang

What are you doing, drinking it or rubbing it on your hair? The(exiled) Duke of Bootle. (30/01/06)

The Back Looking Good

At last we have a defence that looks world class, now lets get the midfield and forwards on the same page Moyes you are the bees knees. All we need is a cup or two COYB. John Lea. (30/01/06)

We Could Sneak It In The Replay

It's not the first time I believe that Everton is short on numbers - the management have seen it coming one too many times. Now even Franny Jeffers has been mooted - what's going on? It pains me to see Everton on the wrong end of poor refereeing decisions. Chelsea have 4 handballs in the 1st half and to say Johnson's lunges on Arteta was cynical is an understatement. It was Kilbane who disappointed last week against Arsenal, and it was Arteta who went quiet. The important issue now is, reinforcements! Nonetheless, I think Everton might sneak it in the replay. JY ONG. (30/01/06)

We all care

I agree with (Welsh Blue) with the moaning that goes on about players that are too old or not good enough. I am one of those who does the moaning. Well done to the players who have played with grit and determination, to go on a winning run and put the club in a safer position in the league.

What is the point of struggling season after season, or having one good season in ten. If you look at the top four clubs over the last ten years, with the exception of (Russian roubles-Chelski), they have all built teams with a blend of youth and experience!

It is true to say that Everton do have a lot of players with experience 30/35 yrs. We have several mid range aged players 25/30 yrs, and a couple of 20/25 yrs!

The key to the future success of this club is using a roll on roll off system. There has to be replenishment of the senior players, but there also has to be either breeding or buying young and mid range aged players.

The fans want some success. I am sure that the players want success. The Board and Management team want success or else what is the point of going season after season with an attitude of staying in the Prem league. Manure/Chelsea/Arsenal all start the season thinking of winning trophies and having success in Europe. Why can't Everton begin to believe this? Because we haven't got the players or a squad big enough!

What of the stadium money? What of Pro-active? There are fundamental flaws at Boardroom level that appear to be depriving this club of much needed success. I have said it before and I will say it again. If the director and the board members are just there for the notoriety of saying " I'm on the board at Everton", then go to another club and do it! Step aside you've had your chance, and give others a chance to prove what it really means to be on the Board at Everton. To bring success and Trophies to this club! Mal(trueblue)but not holdings!

Moyes is a coach not a manager.

Right I'm fed up now - Some Kopite is running around the office chuffed because they have signed Robbie Fowler back and there isn't even a rumour about us signing anyone. Fishy has been some what redundant for the past couple of days. Moyes is a joke - He is a good coach not a good manager. He couldn't by a used condom of e-bay the useless, tight fisted, Scottish g!t!! I am so frustrated that he says he's active but no one is available. Earnshaw is available for 3m. We apparently offered 2.5m. Looks like yet again Moyes is going to drop a massive go-nad over 500K. Remember Sisokko!! Moyes has started to get lucky with his 5 man midfield now that Neville has realised he isn't Patrick Viera and we need someone like Osman who can hold a ball and give Timmy time to make his runs. We either need a Director of Football to do the buying or teach Moyes how to pay agents bungs to actually get some players in. Get your money out. Shaggy, Park End. (30/01/06)

Happy Irish Toffee

Just wish to give a big thank you to Phil Neville for giving his shirt to Millwall's Kevin Braniff who asked for it on behalf of my young son Eamonn Hughes. Also a big thank you to Ray Hall for giving me David Weir's captain armband in the airport after the Arsenal match. My son is thrilled to bits at this and again it epitomises what we are i.e THE PEOPLES TEAM ! Eamonn Hughes senior in Belfast. (30/01/06)

A Winning run is papering over the cracks

There is no rough & smooth about our beloved EFC at the moment, yes I accept we are on a decent run at the moment but please don't bury our heads in the sand! As a club Mr Moyes had us in a great position at the beginning of the season but apart of signing of Arteta.& maybe Ferrari no others have been successful & he failed to have his squad up to scratch before the end of August as he quoted he was defo going to!. I feel the Chairman is to blame as well full of broken promises BK.

Our style of football now is Wimbledon like not exactly the School of Science anymore is it! Arsen whinger did say it was hard to play against if
you can call it football sour grapes maybe but as a lad who seen the championship sides of 1962/3 aged 5 & 1969/70 sides & the mid 1980's sides. it was not the kick & run tactics we play now ok times have changed but & a big but when Mr Moyes replaced boring disappointed Walter. he was a breath of fresh air. I accept he is better than Walter but I can remember our club forcing Colin Harvey out of management because we finished 6th! My main disappointment with the club at the moment is his reluctance to sign youth or local players e.g. Dean Ashton down the road at Crew was going for peanuts, When Rooney burst on the scene he used him sparingly & out of position yet Spen picked him & played him in a free role behind the forwards as MUFC do now!

He has made a lot of errors & yes it is a learning curve for him but his transfer activity & deals he strikes have been very very poor. Just look
across at Paul Jewel he gets players on loan cheap & his side have speed & have reached a league cup final. There is no reason why EFC should move forward in that way just look at Joe Royle at Ipswich that club was bankrupt he uses youth sells more than he buys. I feel he is far more capable on working with a tight purse strings & he plays youngsters! I expect more 1-0 wins this season with a lot of snow on the ball as he has moulded a grip of things at the moment but only time will tell if he fails to sign anyone on loan deals before this transfer deadline just pray no long term injuries to Arteta, Cahill, Osman, Yobo & Beattie as we have no cover of any class in
those departments.

I feel all Evertonians were correct when they stated "CHAMPIONS LEAGUE WE'RE HAVIN A LAUGH" I only pray we are laughing at the end of the season because buying a player like Kroldrop playing him just twice when we were getting beat week in week out by lots of goals against poor sides & then selling him for almost 1/2 price is not good business & then to say oh well we gained on Marcus Bent { who scored on his debut against top class Chelsea} That's how it goes it evens itself out all in that week is verbal crap & the great Harry Catterick must be turning in his
grave. I just hope Mr Moyes does not become the new Gordon Lee! I feel BK does not help him & I also feel he does not pressure him. I know he is trying his best but I remember his words on arrival I will build my team around youth! Weir, Stubbs & Martin & Ferguson? it does not add up at the moment I am afraid to admit! A True Blue but Logical Loyal Blue Fan. Joey. (30/01/06)

Goodonya Bob

I live in Perth Western Australia the most isolated capital city in the world and follow my club with passion and loyalty these same traits are there for all Evertonians to see with Big Dunc. Never a superstar, plagued with injury and back problems he has worn his heart on his sleeve and given us all he had, he should be retained in some capacity by the club when the curtain falls. Marcus has done a job for us and that's it. Twenty years from now who do you think will be remembered? BIG DUNC. Once a Bluekipper always a Bluekipper. Paul West Oz. (30/01/06)

Back Moyes

Now then, listen sent e:mail about 8 weeks ago to tell all those "moyes's out" people to shut up and write something we haven't heard. Anyway just thought i'd write again and say fuck off to all those so called blue noses, i know its only 4 games plus millwall but after beating those north cockney cunts i feel (if we get a goalscorer) we will push for UEFA this season. If we don't get said goalscorer we will still finish top ten i'm sure of that and when andy pandy, carsley back then we will see who's right the so called blue noses or me. Marc Waddington. (30/01/06)

The rough and the smooth

I will always love the blues, yes when we`re giving the `Arse` the run around - well done you boys, but also when we`re playing badly and getting a stuffing!! What makes me bloody annoyed are the small number of supposed bluenoses who are so ready to start moaning when the chips are down, Davey`s too old, Stubbsy too slow and so on. No team has the right to win the league, and teams like ours have to fight hard in every match to get those precious three points. I look at Davey and Stubbsy and know that they will always give 100% for our cause - what else could you ask for?? Better these boys than Kroldrup (or is it F***up?) playing for my blues. Well done you old boys - keep up the good work !! Colin Reynolds(Welsh blue). (24/01/06)

Moyes

I HAVE SUPPORTED THE CLUB SINCE 1970 AND MOYES IS THE MOST HONEST, MOTIVATING & HARD-WORKING MANAGERS WE HAVE EVER HAD. BUT THERE ARE SOME PEOPLE DETERMINED TO DRIVE HIM OUT!!!! DONT YOU THINK NEWCASTLE WUD WELCOME HIM WITH OPEN ARMS??? OR WUD RATHER HAVE G. SOURPUSS??? PHILLIP CHAPPELL. (24/01/06)

Bent v Ferguson

In reply to Abi aka blackandblu's comparison between Ferguson and Bent, you have conveniently forgotten the £8m we received from the barcodes, which pretty much means we paid the same amount for both players (excluding wages).

As for the goal scoring comparison, Ferguson's goals came in fewer appearances and fewer minutes on the pitch. And if you want to ignore the fact that Bent's attitude stank after Beattie signed, whereas Ferguson obviously has a big effect on and off the pitch, then go right ahead.

Even taking into account the fact that Bent scored against Chelski yesterday (he's obviously trying again - I wonder how long that will last?), I am chuffed that we got £2.5m for him - I'd rather we had the money in the bank and use it on quality than continue to field a player who was sulking because he was no longer first choice.

Marcus Bent clearly demonstrates that, for most, playing professional football is a career, from which as much money should be earned. Duncan Ferguson, on the other hand, has clearly taken this club to his heart (whereas the likes of David Beckham and Craig Bellamy adorns their body with fancy tattoos, Dunc has the Everton badge on his) - that is why we love him. Bob Turner. (24/01/06)

It's hard to please some people...

This is for all the whingers and doubters. Shall we sack Moyes now, or after this four game winning streak? No doubt you will all point to the fact 'it's gonna end sometime' and of course it will. Looking at the next seven games, we have a good chance of moving up. The confidence is flowing now. I walked (Well...staggered actually) down County Road with my head held high on Saturday. I haven't done that for a while. I'll be honest, After the shite beat us, I couldn't see where we going as a team. I was reading all the negativity on here thinking 'fuck me Moysie, you have got alot to do to turn this around'. I still had faith in him though, even back then. And, right on cue, he delivers us a four game winning streak and fourth round in the cup. Is that luck? Is it fuck. I saw the Everton of last season on Saturday. Fighting for every ball, believing they can beat anyone, even Arsenal. I loved it, the hairs on my neck were standing up again.

Now onto Kroldrup/Stubbs. Moyes dropped a bollock with Kroldrup. He didn't scout him enough. He should have known if the guy was Prem quality or not before he came. He obviously wasn't. BUT Moyes had the balls to make a loss on him. Managers in the past have kept expensive signings and played them, even though they were shite, to try and justify buying them (Houllier was the biggest ever culprit of this). They just hope one day they will come good when 9 times out of ten they don't. He brought back Stubbs ON A CONTRACT UNTIL THE END OF THE SEASON. So it is temporary until he finds the long term replacement. Moyes will have learnt alot from this I'm sure.

Last but not least, James Beattie. I am always the optimist, but even I didn't like him last season and the start of this one. But, I have changed my mind. He looks hungry and powerful. He gets in good positions and makes Marcus Bent's work rate look like Alexanderssons now. Moyes believed in him, nobody else did. And now he is starting to repay that faith. Long may it continue.
Dan Brierley. (24/01/06)

Big Dunc

6 minutes he was on, 6 minutes of that whining so and so Campbell moaning and groaning. It's a man's game but Corporal Jones is right when it comes to the Arsenal. They don't don't like it up em Mr Mainwaring!! Keith C. (24/01/06)

News Management

So it goes like this: Fan trouble at the EFC Millwall game: Media response?"Tut tut, those Everton fans, causing trouble against nice, friendly Millwall".

Fan trouble by Liverpool fans at Manure after the game: Media response? "Tut tut, that Gary Neville causing all that trouble, inciting poor Liverpool fans."

Dual standards? Just like 1985, but let's not go there... Alan G. (24/01/06)
