Another crock of shite Once
upon a time, I was positive, and happy, and lived to go to games. Now,
I'm not so sure, this season has been shite, but I can't see what's going
to happen. Fair dues to the comments about Wigan having £20m to
spend, they can't even fill their stadium as they're egg chasers, fuck
me, we fill out every home game and £7m budget? And Now The End Is Near I
for one cannot wait for this season to end! It has been a total embarrassment
to be an Evertonian this year!! Even worse that the nail biting relegation
years! No I hear you cry!! Last season we qualified for the Champions
League!! I know it was a total fluke but we did it non the less! so do
we go about all guns blazing and make a decent fist of it.....? do we
shite with a fuckin whimper we are dumped out of both European competitions
before you could fuckin blink! Not to worry we'll bounce back and take
the league by storm and go on cup runs, we'll show em!! Like fuck we will,
we'll sulk and play like gutless knob heads and not buy anyone to improve
the squad and throw away the best chance ever to beat the shite in their
own backyard! then realise we safe and switch off in fuckin march!! one
twat of a season!!! The recent comments from Mark Talent, Ali, Dave Carroll, Chris P, Chris B,and Mal(True Blue) epitomise the feelings of many like minded fans on the frustrations of this season. The buck stops at the manager without any equivocation. He picks the team and it is his responsibility to get the best out of the team he has put out on that particular day. We did not have the wherewithal to compete in Europe. Small inexperienced squad. Although Collina did not help matters we lost 4-2 over two legs which is a stuffing whichever way you look at it. Enough said about the Bucharest game when the captain apologises for the team's ineptitude. We had to wait until the 23 October for our first premiership goal at Goodison. We had a bit of a run of form and got a few results and over the past few weeks have returned to our early season form. Obviously David Moyes does not do cup competitions, possibly Shrewsbury has left him in a permanent traumatic state. Since they went to Florida their form has been pathetic. The comments about Moyes 's signings have been well documented on Blue Kipper. From the fans perspective there are so many things that do not add up. No doubt there are things that go on within the club that do not reach the public domain. Therefore the fans can only judge from what they see on the pitch where nobody can hide. WHY HAVE WE TOTALLY CAPITULATED ON TWO OCCASIONS AT CHELSEA THIS SEASON? EVERY TIME WE PLAY THE SPANISH EMBASSY SELECT ELEVEN FROM ACROSS THE PARK WHY DO WE LAY DOWN AND DIE? DID ARTETA BOTTLE OUT OF THE DERBY GAME? WHAT WAS THE POINT IN PLAYING FERGUSON AS SUB AGAINST BRUM WHEN YOUNG ANICHEBE WAS AVAILABLE? WHY FOR EVERY DEFENSIVE CORNER DO WE HAVE ELEVEN MAN IN OUR AREA THEREBY ENCOURAGING THE OPPOSITION TO GET AFTER US? On the club's website Kilbane has said: "Let's finish with a flourish." Is this the same Kilbane of the one goal in eighty games fame? They really are extracting the urine now. In most teams if a player consistently plays bad he is dropped. At Everton some of them know that no matter how bad they play their shirt will be there next week. Beattie for me has been as good as his word in that he said when I get fit I will deliver and he has. Moyes goes into every game thinking we are drawing 0-0 and we have a point. 4-5-1 don't make me laugh! It may be OK if you are not conceding goals but when you are leaking them like a drain. We struggle to defend a lead and we cannot consolidate a lead and if the opposition score two head for the exits. We do not have the personnel capable of changing a game. Arteta can be brilliant at times but we need him on the pitch and not in the treatment room. In the past few weeks there has been a perfect opportunity to blood some of the excellent youngsters but Moyes has chosen not to. In the time Moyes has been here Venger has built TWO TEAMS playing a fluent PASSING game that entertains and excites the fans and enjoys success. We do not play a passing game at all. We by pass the mid-field with the proverbial welly for Beattie to chase himself into the ground. Route one football or ale house soccer is not welcome. It hurts to say this but the top five teams in the Premiership do knock the ball about to their own players with a far greater degree of consistency than us. Get rid of the driftwood and replace it with creative fit players who are proud to wear the shirt and who will stand up and be counted when the chips are down. Finishing fourth was not an honour. It means that there are three teams better than you. There is no point in changing the manager. We need to change the way we play. JACK WARNER. LIFELONG BLUE. (24/04/06) What's Going on I
have watched Everton since I was 6yrs of age. I've watched the likes of
Mick Lyons, Bob Latchford, Duncan McKenzie, the great side of the 80s,(oh
how I wish I was still watching that team). But yesterday, I was left
fuckin numb and totally disillusioned with Everton football club again.
l I remember not so long ago crying when we stayed up against Coventry,
and the management and club saying that this club would never go through
anything like this again. Now I know we're safe this season, but the standard
of football and the quality of play is fuckin shite. I watched the Birmingham match and I think that at times in the first half we played some good stuff and were probably unlucky not to get all three points. We just lack cutting edge up front and of course Arteta in midfield. Having said that I am baffled by some things I have read since. Joe 90's latest piece for example. Don’t get me wrong he has some good ideas but call it director of football or whatever, does Mark Hughes need someone to help him? what about Big Sam? Paul Jewell? Blackburn, Bolton and Wigan have all done well this season, as did we last. Do managers not have scouts and youth team coaches and assistant managers and other backroom staff that they appoint to help them? (Or perhaps we should get Lance Armstrong in Joe?) There’s not to many Frank Arnesen's around, which is exactly why Chelski poached him from Spurs. Bottom line is we don’t know who is helping DM. I read somewhere about the blame Chris Woods should get for our goalkeeping crisis - is it his fault Wright is shit, Martyn got injured, Turner sent off and Ruddy is 18? Balls it is Say we went down that path of youth development - Great! - I think its a really good idea and vital to any aspiring club. But what if instead of an Arnesen you put a muppet like Souness in charge, where does that leave us? Lets not poke about in the dark here and look for some magic formula to remedy everything instantaneously and bring back the glory days of the 80s. Bar us being bankrolled by some corrupt billionaire success will not happen overnight. Football has changed hugely since we were kings. Youth development and a club ethos are all well and good but the bottom line is if some came in tomorrow and gave Davey £200m to spend on a new team all those other things wouldn’t really matter ( I know some of you are saying he'd probably still buy shite). Do you want to be watching a nice family club or the champions who are competing for every trophy and big player? I want success as much as the next Evertonian but I'm prepared to be patient. Who realistically thought we would improve on last year and finish 3rd or better? Yes it would have been fantastic, but wouldn’t 6th have been good too? All in all this season couldn’t have been more disappointing and it started in the transfer market when we didn’t buy a striker, but lets hope its been a learning curve for DM. Lets not turning into whinging ball-busters just yet. Of course I'm annoyed at how this season has panned out. I'm annoyed that Ferrari talks about wanting to stay yet with Stubbs and Weir surely on the way out he can't get a game. DM hasn’t been great in the transfer market at times and maybe an Arnesen would help but it is not going to be a cure for all ills. In reality we have been in decline since Colin Harvey took over from Kendal. If anyone disagrees let me know. We missed the boat big time when the Premiership launched in 1992 and although we know our history and how great this club is we have to be realistic in our ambitions. If we had improved under DM each season and finished 4th this season I doubt there would have been to much yapping from anyone, however this yo-yoing that's pissing everyone off. I don't really want to have a go at anyone because in the end of the day we all support the same club and want the same things and if you didn't say anything I didn't agree with then I wouldn't be slabbering about it now! Roll on next season. Shep. (24/04/06) Mediocrity Well here we are again the end of yet another disappointing season, which promised so much especially with the players we were linked with last summer. How Owen, Parker, Emery, Bellamy must all feel justified in their decisions not to join our once proud club. Well what does the future hold? are we ever to see progress that the likes of Tottenham who not so long ago were among the dross of which we now find ourselves in. The same dross we all thought that Wigan would probably be in but if all is to be believed now have a reported £20,000,000 to spend. Why on earth are we saying already before the season has ended we will only have £5 / 6 million to spend and the much sought after striker we have wanted for 18 months is Paul Dickov. That in itself tells the whole story of our ambition - we are know in the same position as previous seasons of no investment and a chairman who would struggle to attract flies if he were a turd which had just fell from Shergars arse. The same chairman will now probably come out with the same jargon about Moyes being the miracle worker we all know he isn't, in fact lots of Preston fans i see on a daily basis all say what we all now see as true is he dithers about making crucial decisions whether it be signing a player or making a simple substitution like today Anichebe with 5 min's to go! That for me says it all, but unlike the last 20 years i will not be renewing my season ticket unless we see some decent investment coupled with a manager who can make his team exciting and not dour - 31 goals in 36 games from the club who invented attacking football. From a very sad EVERTONIAN - AJT. (24/04/06) Joe 90 What an excellent piece this time by Joe 90, on the points made about Spurs he was correct a few seasons ago that had a share issue and raised 14 or 15 million which was then used to buy all the young players they have now. When a share issue was mentioned at Everton the reply from the club was we'll look at it. John Fitzpatrick. (24/04/06) Time to reflect After the events of last season, were we over achieved. The club and the manager have shown their loyalty by investing heavily in the squad, NOT!! The board and Mr Moyes should go on Allan sugars "The Apprentice". I am very sure that any task Sir Alan Sugar put before them that they wouldn't have a clue! Also Sir Alan would just piss himself laughing. This is why for me, the club will never move forward. I love Everton just as much as Bill, this is why I like so many fans will be putting our investment back into our club for another season and beyond. So, Bill can you do something to bring investment in? Even Sir Allan and his Apprentice will do for a start! Karl Gilboy. (24/04/06) Carsley ban upheld What a fuckin surprise. Carsely's three match ban stands. Did we expect anything different? Moyesy is right. They have took the piss out of us this season at the F.A.(fucking arseholes) If it was chelski, man ure,or them bunch of tossers over the road it would have been ok to rescind the card and give a booking. This comes a week after the dubious goals panel take 2 of Leon's off him, but guess what that jug eared lanky streak of piss over the road get 2 given to him what a joke. John. Halifax. (24/04/06) FourFourTwo I
have just purchased a copy of May 2006 edition of FourFourTwo and am shocked
about the comments made about everton. I have already read the comments
about everton's match day mascot scheme on the internet and now understand
that there is only a fee to be corporate mascot. On Saturday at 2pm before the Birmingham Match Matteo Ferrari got into his car at the Park End Car Park and drove off. Before doing so he spoke to the supporters there, one of who was my daughter (no better Evertonian walks this earth) he was smarting and told them that he had had enough of Moyes and not being selected when he was told he wasn't even on the bench on Saturday he saw his arse and went. Now what we need to know is the truth, 'WHY'. No lies no waffle tell us the truth whats happening with a good player that he storms off in huff. We can't afford to lose players of his quality. Why was Stubbs on the bench and not Ferrari? Surely players of this quality are our future. Please Everton tell us the loyal supporters the truth. Rollo Torpey. 62 year veteran and still a season ticket holder. (24/04/06) What Do You Think? Have your say! e-mail info@bluekipper.com |
