Mark Hughes - The Answer?

I have thought of a way to save Everton 3 or 4 millon quid. Now that Moysey has offered new contracts to Davie Weir and Stubbsey and hopefully Joey Yobo stays. Instead of going to buy Lescott, why doesn't Moysey give the youngsters a chance. There is one boy who is going to be a top player. His name is Mark Hughes. He is captain of the reserves and his performances last season have been top notch. Even when he was loaned out at Stockport he was given rave reveiws. Here minds me of Dave Watson. If Moysey has got rid of Ferrari and Kroldrup then surely he rates him better than them two.

Surely these kids need to be given a platform to develop and with the hunger they show on the pitch they will succeed. I'm sure given the opportunity Mark will have a great future with Everton. Then maybe with money we save we could start competing in the transfer market with the giants of the game like Bolton and Wigan. Mark Jones (25/05/06)

Note: Mark has just signed a one year contract. See last year's interveiw with Mark

Get The Money

Bolton is bad enough.... but Wigan!? What the f##k is happening? That fat twat Wyness wants to put up or f##kin shut up. We make money via better league positions, more televised games, Europe and having an exciting team that will sell shirts etc. We seem obsessed with this 'record transfer fee'.... so fuckin what!!? It may be our record, but it represents a squad player for other teams!! We need a goal scorer, he seems to be the most viable option available..... did we learn f##k all from last close season and last Jan window? BUY HIM FOR FUCKS SAKE!!!! Mark Warren. (24/05/06)

AJ

ARE WE FUCKING REAL?? ANOTHER TARGET MISSED BY OUR TOTALLY INEPT MANAGER AND HIS BAND OF MERRY MEN! I HEAR TODAY THAT WIGAN HAVE HAD AN £8.5M BID ACCEPTED FOR ANDY JOHNSON WHILE WE OFFER £7.25M AND HOPE HE WANTS TO PLAY FOR US. HELLO!! HE WANTS TO PLAY FOR THE TEAM THAT PAYS HIM THE MOST YOU THICK FUCKERS.JUST LIKE PARKER,BELLAMY AND JUST ABOUT EVERYONE ELSE WHO WE GO AFTER. IF YOU WANT HIM (AND LETS FACE IT YOU DO) THEN PAY THE FUCKING MONEY! LOOKS LIKE THE 17000 RENEWING FANS HAVE HAD THIER EYE WIPED AGAIN.

YOU'VE GOT TO HAND IT TO THE BOARD.THEY KEEP GETTING US TO PART WITH OUR HARD EARNED EVERY YEAR ON THE PROMISE OF BETTER THINGS TO COME AND EVERY YEAR ITS THE SAME. HOW MANY TIMES HAVE WE HEARD THESE LITTLE GEMS
"WE WONT GET INTO AN AUCTION"
"WE WONT BE HELD TO RANSOM"
"WE ONLY WANT PLAYERS WHO ARE BETTER THAN THE ONES WE ALREADY HAVE"
"EVERYTHING WAS AGREED BUT X (USUALLY NEWCASTLE) CAME IN AT THE LAST MINUTE AND OFFERED HIM MORE"

WELL HERES ONE FOR YOU. "WE WILL BE RELEGATED UNLESS YOU(THE BOARD) SPEND SOME MONEY"
FROM A VERY PISSED OFF EVERTONIAN. Steve Rimmer. (24/05/06)

If Portsmouth can Attract Investors Why Can't Everton?

I am writing in response to the recent email from Tony in Walton who in my opinion is nearly correct. The unbelievable crap that is coming out of our boardroom is a disgrace how much longer must we put up with this sham of board. Where is all the money ? Where is the money from deal with JJB ? The money for the transfer from Rooney ? I could go on but we seem to all know the score but nothing ever gets done and we all moan for the summer and next season we will be watching an everton team fighting for their lives again at places like Portsmouth, Watford and Wigan.

We keep going on about the Red Shite but have we looked at the disgracefull state we are in ? Look at Southampton, Leeds, and then can someone tell me what the difference is between our clubs apart from the fantastic support. David Moyes how can you blame him judge him when he is manager of Celtic or Man Utd not when he is working with no money no real support and like us has been fed a load of marketing and hot air from Mr Kenwright. We need to find some real money if Portsmouth can attract a Russian investor then why can't we.

If this does not change we will go down next season I know we will all support the blues forever and i will follow them through thick and thin but what a totally depressing situation we are in. The board should hang their heads in shame. Sean Whelan. (24/05/06)

Please Explain

I have just read Tony Taxi's message and agree 100% with him. But it is not just the financials that do not make sense at Goodison, it is also the communication. We still have not had an adult explanation for the Koldrup fiasco. Some say that Moyes did not even see the player in action. Well, he must have seen Davies so can he point out a decent game he had in their colours in the year before he was signed.

I was on this site a year ago saying that Davies is crap and his signing beggared belief. What is his position? A paceless winger who can only pass sideways or backwards or a central midfielder with the presence of Lord Lucan. The standard of football was sub-standard last season because we have sub-standard players like Davies. As Bob Latchford points out the Spurs team cost about the same as ours. Can one of the factors be that they unload their rubbish, like Davies, whereas we buy it? Wyness please explain. Mike Weir. (24/05/06)

Once a Blue...

I'm 16, season ticket holder in the upper glwadys (thanks to me dad) I'd just like to say how Liverpool can take whatever trophies they want but to me, nothing will ever beat my love for Everton!!! I think it's incredible for a club with such great support and stature to keep going and going!!! Once a blue, always a blue!!! Eddie Astley. (24/05/06)

Joe (aged 7) gives Dad (and all of us) a history lesson

Joe. The 1966 cup final dvd is in black and white dad. I don't like it.
Dad. Behave! The colour doesn't matter, just seeing us steal the game from Sheffield Wednesday is awesome!
Joe. Derek Temple scored the winning goal didn't he?
Dad. That's right son, and he got a special award at the Blue Kipper presentation night for that - 40 years ago this year we won the FA cup.
Joe. Did Sandy Young get a special award?
Dad. What?...
Joe. Sandy Young scored Everton's winner against Newcastle in the 1906 cup final.
Dad. Did he ... oh yeh .... that's right....
Joe. That was the first time Everton won the FA cup.
Dad. Yeh ... the first time...
Joe. That was 100 years ago. Why didn't we have a special presentation at the West Brom match for the 1906 cup winning team dad?
Dad. Oh ... er .... I don't know why ...
Joe. Was there a special presentation for Sandy Young at the Blue kipper night?
Dad. No. Sandy young is dead. Although I imagine his grandkids are alive and well somewhere.
Joe. That's not fair.
Dad. Bloody hell, you're dead right its not fair. How come the club didn't celebrate the 100th anniversary of winning the FA Cup for the first time?!
Joe. You don't know your history Dad.
Dad. And neither does Everton football club, or Blue Kipper or any of us.. We should be ashamed. Shame on all of us for forgetting Sandy Young and that great team ....
Joe. Now can you try and get me the DVD of the 1906 cup final in colour Dad?

Denis Byrne. (24/05/06)

Joe 90

I’ve been an Everton fan all my life, but to my shame I’ve never been on bluekipper.com since I upgraded the PC/internet. What a pleasant experience - common-sense from Joe90’s end of term report. After the rubbish on Yahoo and the Blue Room, how refreshing to read a sensible, balanced, common-sense view of the year – my faith in Everton fans is restored. None of the calling for Moyes’s head, or the ‘get behind the lads’ rubbish – but a considered view. I would hope Moyes and the Board sneak a look at this site to gauge a view of what us real fans feel. Well done! Everton for ever! Cheers. Paddock Boy. (24/05/06)

Football Aid

Saw the pictures on your site re the match....my two sons, Jonathan and Christopher were the refs that night............and as ardent bluenoses`s and referees to boot, they were in seventh heaven when they got home.

I`m a season ticket holder myself, and a footy ref, and my attempts to be the fourth official were unsuccessful. Next year maybe. Great site lads
Steve Burns. (24/05/06)

Enough is Enough

The time has come for Mr Moyes and Mr Irvine to ship out of this club. Closely followed by Mr Kenwright and the brain dead board of directors. Time after time we see the shite picking up silverware, buying this player and that player while we never have the briefest sniff of a trophy, and were handing out monthly contracts to 40+ goalkeepers. Why is this club so badly run? Where is all the money?

David Moyes has made some absolutely terrible errors in the transfer market. Per Kroldrup, Simon Davies, Kevin Kilbane, James McFadden, Richard Wright, Andy Van Der Meyde, Would any other premiership club have shelled out nearly £18m on this bunch of jokers? Alright, Neville, Beattie, Arteta, Cahill and Valente have been decent buys. But that's all they are, decent. The style of football is abysmal, totally unenjoyable.

Last week, we were linked with Andy Johnson. But were told that £6m would take away the whole transfer budget. Hang on but didn't we receive£5m for finishing 11th in the league? So in effect, the club are saying that the actual transfer budget is £1m. Where is the second installment of the Rooney money? Where is the Bent money? Where is the money saved from the wages of campbell, approximately £1.8m? Where's the Kroldrup money? where's the gate money, working on an average attendance of 36000 @ £25 per head, around £2m. Where is the SKY money? We must have been on 12 times last season. Where's the £20000 per week saved from Ferguson's wages? That's approximately £1m. Then there's all the merchandise and the Chang money. Someone in this club is taking the piss! The loyalty of us fans is utterly astonishing, to put up with the shite this club turns out week after week. Lets get it right, this club is rotten to the core, badly run from top to bottom. The club has got one thing in its favour. It has the best home and away support, pound for pound in the country. But how long that can last under the current regime of Kenwright and Moyes I don't know. Even Evertonians must have their limits. From Tony taxi, Walton. (22/05/06)

MBE

Congrats on a first class and well written review of last season. Geoff Freeman. (22/05/06)

Season Review

Just read MBE'S season review and although you cannot knock his craft and penmanship I would have to hold my hands up and say this season we have been no less than fucking diabolical and it's no use to try and paper over the cracks. As usual we haven't got a fucking pot to piss in and will have to resort to listening to the redshites homecoming again. Since its eleven years since we paraded a cup its dubious whether any of our younger fans appreciate what it's like to see a victorious Everton team. After years in Charge what have we got to show under Moyes? Fuck all that's what. We sell our best players and rave about a couple of average ones. All the old players at the blue kipper night voiced their opinions that the current set up is shite so I no I am not imagining this although I wish I fucking was. As usual the club have had to shanghai the fans over their season tickets by holding them to ransom with a price freeze at least dick turpin wore a fucking mask! We need a an evertonian manager who properly understands the club and fans and who wont waste the club funds on shite. When you think that Howard kendal only wanted a million to buy dion dublin and yet the board sanction Moyes to waste 10 million what the fuck is going on. I will only back Moyes if he gets some fucking silverware at the moment it looks like he has no intention of doing so. When are we going to get a manager with some fucking ambition who assembles a team that will run themselves into the ground for the blue shirt. Mr Seddon what excuses have you got for Moyes now? Chris Simpson. (22/05/06)

Aberdeen Folly

Could someone please explain to me why the hell we are playing Aberdeen away after the hassle the last two times we've had friendlies with them? Especially as Wyness was their CEO, and the crowd trouble from their fans. Unbelievable, are they asking for hassle, and it is back of beyond. Sort it out, crazy nonsense. Rich Welsh Blues. (22/05/06)

Low Expectations ?

I read joe 90's end of season review and find my self in agreement with nearly all he said. But the thing that startled me was Moyes' statement "The problem is the fans haven't seen enough of Matteo Ferrari " the implication being that that was the reason everton never took up the option to buy him. I saw enough of Ferrari to know he is a better player than weir and Stubbs (no disrespect to those players) he also has pace where as Weir and stubbs don't. I would have thought the central defensive pairing was obvious. To all but Moyes.

The Kroldrup fiasco should have been a warning to all Everton fans. Kroldrup in my opinion is a good player. Moyes for some reason wouldn't play him in although he had plenty of opportunity to bring him on for 20 mins here and there. He then starts saying things about Ferrari like we " are just disappointed that we haven't seen more of him" ( who picks the team david ?) and even more incredible " Its only fair he gets the opportunity to show what he can do". So why didn't he ? I think Moyes bottled it and that worrys me.

Top ten finish isn't a target we need to aim at we need to aim at a top 6 as a minimum and top 4 after xmas has to be the aim. If you are in that
position then you are in touch and you could challenge for the title. We will not be any where near if the present situation continues. I hope Moyes goes with youth and that means Biffa , Anichebe and Vaughn plus another ( Andy Johnson ?) withdraw the offer to Weir and go and beg Matteo to come back.

Arteta ( what a man and what a player) said it himself he "hopes Mr Moyes buys some good players" so do we Micky . Keep up the good work Kippers. Kevin. (22/05/06)

Only Yes Men For Moyes

David Moyes hear this "fuck off out of our club" your man management skills our shite, hence the sale of Gravesen, Rooney, Big Dunc! All three of these men han run ins with Moyes. All three of these men are no longer with the club, it is all coming together now, if you do not get on with Moyes or try to have your say, then Moyes fucks them off. But if you say fuck all and kiss his arse, hence Pistone, Davies, Weir "who are all fuckin shite" you get a new contract. Please can someone sort this out, Fuck Moyes off and either get big Joe Royle or Peter Reid back, who knows what it really means to be an EVERTONIAN!!!. Big Dunc!!! you will always be a legend, and loved by all true Evertonians for you passion for the club. MICK!!! BLACKPOOL!!! (22/05/06)

Big Dunc

There is only one, there will never be another. I'd just like to say how grateful I am to the legend that is Duncan Ferguson who has loved Everton since he first came to Goodison. He won the FA Cup with us and wore the arm band with pride on many occasions.

I'm 17 and have supported Everton all my life and can honestly say that Dunc is the only player I ever called my favourite. I was at his last game earlier this month and screamed his name and clapped till my hands were red raw as the team took the lap of honour at the end. It really was an emotional day for me on that rainy sunday.

It's not gonna be the same without the king in that royal blue jersey with a big nine on the back. Thanks for everything Dunc mate I am among thousands who are gonna miss you grace the field, I hope you enjoy watching as a fan for once though! Tom Davies in Maghull. (22/05/06)

The future's brighter on the other side

When exactly will Andeson Silva da Franca be joining us? A tough midfielder in an already well populated section of the team (for a change), Moyes will surely be selling most from Kilbane, McFadden, Carsley, VDM. With him definitely trying to keeping Arteta, Cahill, Osman, Davies and Neville, I can t remember every being so well endowed in 1 particular area of the field. He surely won't be needing 10 midfield players, I reckon he should ship Wright, Kilbane and Carsley and maybe McFadden. That should bring in close to 5 mill, enough to get Lescott and maybe a more experienced centre forward, so with the entire current budget of 7mill going on Johnson, that will leave us 4 top keepers, a great starting back 4 (Hibbo, yobo, lesco, valente) with pretty good cover, 6 top midfielders and then Beattie, Johnson, Vaughn and Anichebe.

Maybe the 2 kids upfront are untried, but judging by both of their flying introductions, they are both very quick and hard working, with Anichebe in particular very strong for a 17 year old, he gave West Brom’s defence more bother than Beats and Ferguson did all game when he entered the fray, he was very impressive. Sure he is going to get found out by the top defences, but judging by the games against the relegation sides who typically have big / strong lads at the back, pace against these is exactly what we need.

We may have been disappointed by this season, but get a grip, It can take years for players to fully bed in together, the most important thing from my point of view, is to see the good players staying at Everton and us slowly building a team around them. If we can only introduce 2 first team players each season, it is the best way to build a team and I believe we have a better team than when we finished 4th, frankly I think some people need a reality check and maybe some patience. It only takes 1 player to enter the fray to turn a good football playing team into a great team. Carsley is a hatchet man, who works hard and breaks up play, but offers nothing more. Lets get more players as comfortable on the ball as VDM and Arteta and there will be no need to chase it around. With most teams just trying to give the ball away, lets just accept we aren’t going to get anywhere near the top 4 and build a solid team full of football players and we will surely unearth another gem like Rooney to spark us into life

If I hear 1 more blue calling for Moyes’s head, I am going to implode. We surely remember they days of Walter Smith, what a waste of space. If David Moyes could pick gems with every player he buys, he wouldnt still be building his first 11. Look at the money Houllier, Ferguson and even Mourinho have wasted on complete garbage. The fact they are still winning just covers the cracks when you bring in 6 or 7 top draw signings and only 3 make the grade, it’s a bit tougher when you can only afford 2 top players, even then they are clearly not players the top teams want, so lets remember we aren't the football club we once were, even if it hurts like hell, lets back the manager and the payers he is showing faith in. I made so whopper mistakes just picking my Fantasy team with 100 mill, so lets give Moyes the benefit, he has clearly earned it and given us light when all around stole our torch batteries predicting dark times ahead. Its not too long ago we could claim to be the best team on Merseyside and Liverpool’s deal with the Bad Man downstairs had to play his joker to keep us in check that time.

To sum up, I am expecting a better season to come, even if we don’t buy anyone. BG- Main stander. (22/05/06)

Dunc Will Be Missed

I THINK RICHARD DAVIES WAS RIGHT (18/05/06). ALTHOUGH DUNCAN DIDN'T DO IT FOR EVERYONE, IN MY EYES HE WAS THE MAIN MAN WHO LOVED THE CLUB AS MUCH AS WE DID. THE PLACE WONT BE THE SAME WITHOUT HIM. HE SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO TAKE OVER FROM WHERE THE GREAT BRIAN LABONE LEFT OFF, AND EVEN USED IN SOME FORM OF COACHING CAPACITY. WHAT BETTER INSPIRATION FOR THE YOUNG ONES COMING THROUGH THAN DUNCAN HELPING THEM OR EVEN ISSUING THE ODD BOLLOCKING FOR THOSE GOING A BIT ASTRAY. JB. (22/05/06)

Linda or Kevin?

WHAT THE FUCKIN HELL IS KENWRIGHT DOING WITH ALL OF THE MONEY? ALL I EVER HEAR IS: 'YES LINDA NOLAN YOU ARE ALWAYS WELCOME TO COME BACK TO BLOOD BROTHERS.' WELL FUCK YOU LINDA, IT'S KEVIN NOLAN WE WANT. GEOFF OLDSWAN BLUES. (22/05/06)

In Defence Of Dunc

I think you'll agree, I'm not a writer, but i was hoping you could put my reply to the Dunc article (May 19th - Guardian) on the website.....

Dear Editor/Mirror or whoever reads these emails,

I write in reply to the story/article 'The good, the bad and the downright ugly of Big Dunc' by Nicky Campbell May 19th. Your article depicts Duncan as a man who is an aggressor, one who always throws the first punch, a generally unliked man. We know better at Everton. A thug? a hooligan? Nah, a Glaswegian. He isn't a thug, a hooligan or anything like it. He has a fight in him, a passion, maybe frustrated at times but aren't we all. I was in Glasgow not too long ago, and many Glaswegian's compared themselves to scousers. A hard city with great great people who are always treated with immense disrespect by the pretentious media. Rangers, Newcastle, Everton, regardless of what outsiders think, these teams love there football more than most, and there fans expect 100% commitment for the cause, no less.

The man has never 'attacked' anyone without due cause. In the world of football, were most players are complete tarts (diving and crying at the slightest touch), Duncan was a strong leader up front, true, never a goal scorer but he brought so much more. He inspired both players around him and the great Everton crowd. He never took abuse from anyone. He was courageous on the field and felt betrayed by the Scottish FA, hence the early retirement from internationals.

He attacked two burglars on his property, both strong men, and held one till the police came. He was given a ridiculous ban after the Wigan game, he was verbally abused, which in the modern football world is considered as bad as a physical attack, unless it involves Everton or Dunc..... oops, you fit both - 7 match ban it is. The man was great in the air but persecuted for it, he struggled to jump for a header without being penalised. In contrast, the 'great' figure of Alan Shearer got away with all kinds. He elbowed David Weir in the face at the game at Goodison Park, and was never spoken to by the FA or the ref, never mind punished.

Duncan had, as Howard Kendall put it 'A great touch'. To be fair, he rarely showed it, but he was good on the ground too. He thrived at the bigger games such as Manure sorry Man U. Phill Neville has mentioned before about a certain 'fear' when the Man U lads seen him warming up, they knew they were in for a hard time. This doesn't make him a bully or thug, if it does, Bolton is a side of thugs, a collection of old school bullies and playground thugs from around the globe.

Duncan is a hero to many at Everton but its not for the thousands of goals he didn't score or for his off-the-field attitude but for the attitude he had on the field, he fought for Everton. As Phil Neville put it, 'you don't have to be the best player in the world but your loved if you put in 100% week in week out'. That's what we expect at Everton. 100% heart and 100% commitment for the cause for 90 mins on a Saturday, and hopefully, one day soon, on a Wednesday night in Europe. Neil. (22/05/06)

Another Kit

I remember a couple of years back everyone slating Manure for changing their kits every year and now were doing it! I'm all for making money for the club but these kits ain't cheap especially when u go to games as well, we even had a yellow third kit last year that we didn’t wear! Top site lads, I check it everyday! Kurt in Widnes. (22/05/06)
