Respect To Big Dunc

Like to say to Dunc, that down in these parts of the country - that's Cornwall, you have inspired lots of kids around are town. Kids using your name when kicking the ball around the park. Lots of respect. I think icon comes to mind. Down here, we say that you still have plenty of years in you yet maybe helping with a coaching roll. We all want to say 'Best Wishes' from the Cornish posse. Amanda Gill. (08/06/06)

Everton Firsts

I recall reading an article a couple of months ago on bluekipper in which a fan had sent in a photograph of a plaque they saw detailing a number of Everton facts (e.g. first team to wear numbers, use nets etc) and I was wondering if you could possibly tell me if it is still on your site ? - I've had a trawl through the archives but can't find anything. Many Thanks, Stephen. (08/06/06)

Worst XI

Noticed Steve Seargent in one of the worst XI's. I would like to relate a tale to you that just might make you all think !! Some years ago I used
to drink in the now demolished Heath Hotel in Allerton. The licensee at the time was a larger than life Blue, John Hopkins, who was also one of Greenalls training managers. Steve was a trainee manager there for a while. One particular night a not to sober punter was having a pop at him about how bad a player he was. Steve answered him thus "How many games did you play in the top flight?" So, DON'T JUDGE LEST WE BE JUDGED! Although must say Bernie the Bolt Wright would get in most worst ever XI's. Howie Williams. AJ

I think the signing of Johnson is superb, everything that our club is about. With Lescott on his way as well & Tim Howard in goal, It looks like I'll best get out me passport again for more European adventures with DAVIE MOYSE'S BLUE & WHITE ARMY. Stevie P - Kirkby. (08/06/06)

New Signings

Great to see something positive happening with the transfers dealings to date. Especially so early in the close season. Just one point to make. Forget Jeffers.

The lad can't even address his old boss properly. When he talks about 'Moyes' and himself falling out, he shows lack of respect for the man that would be his boss if he were to return. After keeping the bench warm at Rangers, Arsenal and Charlton and finding himself out in the cold, the cheeky b*****d declares himself good enough to play for us. Well forget it son. I for one, couldn't bring myself to applaud you when you were here last time. I'm afraid you reap what you sow on this life. If you're lucky you might get a game at Tranmere next season (no disrespect to Tranmere of course).

Anyway, Good Luck to the new lads coming in. Show us what you can do on the pitch through hard work, honesty and endeavour and the supporters will let you know it's appreciated. Let's get this great Club moving in the right direction. Eddieparkend COYB and COE (Come on England). (08/06/06)

Jeffers

Place your begging cap back on that shit retentical between your well-endowed satellite receivers and go stand on the outside lane of the M6 to see if you can see the England bus you'll never be on. COYB. Ant. (08/06/06)

Not a party pooper - just good old fashioned common sense

Whilst I am overjoyed that thus far the forays into the transfer market have been timely, uneventful and productive (not what normally happens), I still have a lingering doubt.

One of the problems we faced last season was lack of goals - now was this due to a poor strike force or poor service to the strike force? I believe its the latter, even though Arteta can provide a decent level of service I have a problem with who else comes any where near his level of vision and skill. So unless we have a constant string of penalty opportunities with the arrival of AJ, I would hope we can temp another playmaker into the squad before August. Peter Fletcher. (08/06/06)

Lescott - Don't Hesitate - Buy Him

Having been an Evertonian all my life (60 years soon!) and residing in Wolverhampton with a season ticket to Molineux I think I am in a great position to pass a judgement on Joleon Lescott. My advice to David Moyes and Bill Kenwright is snap off Moxey's hand and buy him. Lescott is genuine class. If there is one player from the lower divisions who will force his way into the England set-up in the next few years it is Lescott. At 23 he plays like a 29 year old with timing, balance and reasonable speed. If Yobo stays and Alan Stubbs acts in an advisory capacity Everton could have one of the strongest central defences in the Premiership. Keith Farley. (08/06/06)

Great Signing

Fantastic news about the signing of Andy Johnson and, fingers crossed, Joleon Lescott. It's so refreshing to see the board being ambitious and getting their man. £8.6m sounds like a lot of money but that's what a seasoned goal scorer costs these days and we have to be prepared to compete. Finally David Moyes seems to be getting the money that he rightly deserves and then we'll see what the man is made of! I agree with Mark Hyde that the capture of this sort of quality should bring out the talent in the existing squad. The signing of Edgar Davids seemed to do this for Spurs last season as their young midfield collectively hit form. Van der Meyde will hopefully show the talent that we've been expecting for a
season! Ben Howard. London

Price Is Right

Well done A J. Congratulations on joining the blues. Expensive? I don't think so. You pay peanuts you get Monkeys. Welcome to the best club in the land. Happy Blue. (06/06/06)

Signings

Andrew Johnson and (probably) Joleon Lescott - 2 good, young yet experienced players to slot in alongside our "older" heads, and with the likes of Vaughan, Hughes, Anichebe & co on their way up, the future is looking a little brighter than it did a few weeks ago. Another midfielder maybe, and we'll have a pretty strong squad. Hats off to the board for helping David Moyes get the players he wants so quickly - no last-minute buys this time round. Roll on next season, and let's hope Tim gets through the World Cup uninjured.

My first choice team for next season: Howard; Hibbert, Yobo, Lescott, Valente; Neville; Arteta, Cahill, Osman; Beattie, Johnson. COYB! Paul Turner. (06/06/06)

Brazil

What about this Brazilian we signed last year and sent straight out on loan to Spain? Is he coming back this season? Is he any good? Will he get in the team? What position does he play? I know its a lot of questions but he could be like a new signing. Moyes has already said he ain't brining in a new midfielder so whats the score? Answers on a self addressed envelope.......GBHammy. (06/06/06)

Well Done Blues

AJ is a good (if slightly over expensive) signing and all credit for a change has to be given to Kenwright, his board and David Moyes for pulling
this particular rabbit out of the hat. Huth would be another class signing and if we could get Yobo to stay they would make a partnership that would have both pace and class (Ratt & Mounty anyone?). It is so refreshing to see Evertonians the ones walking around pre-season with optimism and hope for a change.

By the way - anyone read the 606 message forums? The bile being spouted by the RS over Johnson is hilarious. But lets not forget - we're the ones who are supposed to be bitter aren't we?

Anderson Da Silva? I think we better get an APB out on the lad as obviously he's gone missing in the Spanish 2nd division!! Bill Davies. (06/06/06)

Call Y'self An Evertonian?

To Lavo & Lard. Those names could be shithouse and fatman. How the bloody hell could you leave Goodison thirty minutes left of a game ... Ha fucking HA. Call yourself an Evertonian? I wish I could of been there like billions and trillions of other Evertonians around the universe. hoggett in Oz. (06/06/06)

Blue Kipper Presentation Night

Thanks for the excellent event at the Olympia, the guests, audio visuals, organisation and company were fantastic; everyone at our table thoroughly enjoyed themselves and I think all your hard work paid off. Keep it up, Colin Fitz. (06/06/06)

Phil Neville - Evertonian

I have just read that Phil Neville has turned blue an he thinks the fans are great well who doesn't. I will always know that Phil will be man utd through and through, but it was nice to hear him say the things he did in his interview. Well done Phil you should be captain next season. shoey1878. (06/06/06)

Lift From Chester

I live in the Chester area, a Blue for many years, season ticket holder and I am seeking a lift for next seasons home games. Do you know anyone who could help me? Brian. (06/06/06) Contact Brian: Beegeecoghlan@aol.com

Mike Treblecock

I DONE A BIT OF A GOOGLE SEARCH ON MY OLD WORKMATE MIKEY, AND YES, I CAN TELL YOU THAT ABOUT 4 YEARS AGO HE WAS LIVING IN DARWIN, FIT WELL AND HEALTHY, AND WORKING AS A FURNITURE REMOVALIST FOR WRIDGWAYS REMOVALS. YOU POMS OUGHT TO BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES HAVING SUCH AN EX SUPERSTAR DOING THAT. JUST KIDDING, BAZZA. (06/06/06)

A Grave mistake?

Turkish daily Sabah is reporting that Galatasaray has agreed terms with Real for Gravesen. They've offered hi a year's contract for which he'll get Euro 2.5mil, free use of a luxury Villa with pool and a chauffeur driven car.

Wonder if they've mentioned the little problem they've had over the past two years, finding the cash to pay the players they already have..Or that the villa is on the flight path of Istanbul's main airport..or that the traffic's so bad that driver or no driver, he'll still need to leave home 3h before a home game to make sure he gets there for kick off.

Anyway I make that £33,000 a month cash. Surely Everton could match that. And he could drive himself from Formby. David O'Byrne. (01/06/06)
