Toby Signing

Has the club gone mad? who`s idea was it to sign a young talented lad with no obvious signs of a serious injury? Hoogie. (02/02/02)

chunky knit zip up

Reference your attack on the stylish garb of recently signed Luther Vanderoth. You kippers want to get out more. The chunky knit zip up is very much in vogue. Take a trip to the top floor of Wade Smith's were the same is on sale for a tasty £250. Patto, former Toxteth Jambo Blue. (02/02/02)

Toby Transfer

Yeah it seems like a good bit of business. We get rid of Santas little helper and sign a young bloke with no baggage and years infront of him. There should be a clause in his contract stating that if he looks good he doesnt run off to the dark side. Also, these Swedes will be playing for the world cup and not collecting splinters on their arses over at Toilet A*****d. Nice one Walter! This may have got you a few more months.
Charlie. (02/02/02)

Walter shows he doesn't get it wrong all the time.

At a time where Everton finally have a bit of money to spend, I worried the Walter would like a kid in a sweet shop. Running around trying to by everything that caught his eye, with the press acting like kids in the back
ground shooting Walter by this Walter by that, I thought we all end up feeling sick. I was wrong. If Walter can spend this wisely with the rest of the money Blue Bill has found, then our only worry will be can we keep the players he signs or are we just a training team for the SHITE....Paul. Street Ender. (02/02/02)

Good Luck Toby

Just writing to wish the new swede all the best ->and to tell the borad not to sell him after 1-2 seasons only to find out what a gifted player he is <dacourt and maro matterazi ring any bells anyone> Also has anyone heard the rumours about Lee Carsley comng to the club , he is a good player but tends to be lazy adn thisbetter not mean that Graevson is on his way out cos a fit Pembridge/Gemmil/Carsley will not exactly put fear into the opposition. Well played clarke at the Villa game ->not a bad result lads with so many out injured ,bring on ipswich. Ivan. (02/02/02)

Well Done Walter!!

It looks like another good signing by Wally in Tobias Lindroth, a young kid who has already had 17 caps for Sweden. Lets just see if he is good as signings Weir, Campbell and Radzinski, a must needed lift before a very important game against the tractor boys. Swedish connection at blues now with Blompquist and Alexandersson lets hope they can help him settle in and get the blues back up the table. Nice to see
Radzinski back in training as well. Alan Parks. (02/02/02)

Pist. off then!

Further to Brian Morgan's e-mail below, I'd swim across the Irish Sea to personally deliver Pistone to the shite, if I could. So he fancies winning medals and trophies? Then he'd best brush up on his snooker skills coz I can't see any big club with big prospects taking him on. It's the Xavier story all over again, but if Smithy manages to get anything at all for this clampet it'll be a minor miracle. SKIMASK, BELFAST. (02/02/02)

How Can I Buy A Shirt?

My 11 year old son and I were unable to attend the match on Saturday against Orient because we are living in Sydney at the moment. If we were home we would have both been locked out because I like a pint and he likes a coke.
I would, however, like to comment on the difficulty, of living in Sydney, and trying to buy my son an Everton shirt for Christmas. Quite simply there are none in the shops here. (However, I can buy loads of items from balls and pens to magazines and shirts with MUFC all over them. It's also fairly easy to buy shirts from other clubs). I specifically wanted a goalkeepers shirt and tried to buy one on line. However, I kept having problems trying to buy it over te internet. In order to resolve Ithe problem I have written (snailmail) emailed and faxed the shop. How many replies do you think I have received? Correct. None. Result, I've given up trying to buy one. It's no wonder the club are in a financial mess. (PS Enjoy your site). Cheers, James. (02/02/02)

Ticket Fiasco

Not locked out but in ground for 2 pm having to pay £2.10 for lousy ale instead of £1.50 for belting stuff brewed by Cains. Already decided that there was going to be a fiasco so planned ahead. Also wrote to Mr D about season ticket holders - I'm one and totally hacked off because not able to go to my own seat - but no reply yet. Not expecting one to be honest.

Bottom line is that there was a cock up and no amount of spin will overcome this. The option to pay at gate causes more admin not less as they have to count the cash afterwards instead of having it spread out over the weeks before and they also lose cash flow 'cos a large amount is received after the game instead of before and they could have reduced some bank interest as a result. Would Blue Bill have done this with one of his shows. All in all not very business like!

Sympathise with the people moved in Bullens Road when there is a cup game but you could ask to transfer to another part of the ground but not the Main Stand as that is the BEST advert for needing a new ground!

What A Shambles

I dont think I am the only fan to think that we're in chaos, and have been for years, and will be for years. As a few emails have picked up on, the "Board" are pissing us off immensely.... no arguments there.

In terms of ambition, our players are picking up on the distinct lack of it present within our "Board". Players are leaving or want to leave for one of two reasons. Either they are being offered poor teams (Derby County) wages (probably Dunfords suggestion) or they are utterly dismayed by the lack of direction the club is going in (circles). No wonder the players want to leave.

About 18 months ago, we were told that we were £20m in debt. Panic stations..... lets sell our best players. Received around £15-20m. Spent virtually fuck all. Then, we hear we are...... £20m in debt. How ? Who has got it ? Then, great news, a windfall for Smith (£9m we read). Then the note of caution, "The overdraft is still there" we are told. Great! Is this PJ all over again ? A final note. Bill, will you please sack Dunford. We all hate him. Dave W. (01/02/02)

Arrh Pisto

Just a quick note to respond to Pistones claims that he may want to finish his stint at everton to go else where and win trophies. When I read this the fact that Xavier was signing for the shite faded into insignificance. How can a yellow crippled heartless bastard like pistone even claim to have had a stint at Everton. When my 7 yr old son was looking through the 2002 calender he turned to the page with pistone and asked me 'Who is that ?' to which I replied 'some has been that wasnt wanted by anyone else so we took him in, even though he is crap and has played only several hours of football for us'.I will pray tonight that the Red shite take yet another sick note yella bellied cowardly has been off us. Where as before i would have booked a taxi to anfield myself for shit like Xavier to go to Liverpool, I would carry Pistone on my back across Stanley Park to land those red twats with this Italian invalid (id even carry him across even if I had two broken legs). At last the shit is beginning to become unstuck and be attracted to the sewer where it belongs, Anfield. Remember Xavier and Pistone you never lived up to what we expect Nil Satis Nisi Optimum. Brian Morgan. Belfast. (01/02/02)

lazy scottish strikers

Managed to get in on Saturday and was happily astonished at the performance of Gazza. However, was it only me that noticed how utterly lazy big dunc has become? I expected to see reference to his dismal performance in the press, but not a jot anywhere? Granted he did score, but the pass was so accurate, he didn't have to break stride from his leasurely jog to strike the ball! To make matters worse, once we were 3-1 or 4-1 up, why not take off dunc and give chadwick a proper run out? any feelings on the above? cheers.
Martin Bartholomew. (01/02/02)

What a Carry On.

We can disagree about players, scratch our heads at Walter's team selections and argue the toss about our best team formation; that's what being a fan is all about, but one thing's for sure, something is badly wrong at our club. Despite what Bill Kenwright says (for what it's worth, I don't blame the man himself, just those who betray all he's trying to achieve) Everton is not a well-run club as Saturday's crowd chaos demonstrated all too clearly.

Dunford's "apology" is laughable. He concludes by telling us that he cares....yeah, right! This is the same guy who presided over that almighty cock-up over the Independent Blues' Xmas party for the kids. As usual he tells us that he's had "lengthy discussions with Bill Kenwright." Of course he has. And, as usual, I reckon it was all about covering his arse. He will wriggle and squirm. The lies and deceit will flow. Eventually someone, somewhere will probably pay for the failures. But I bet it won't be Michael Dunford.

This is a guy who cares so much that he has failed to even acknowledge letters I and friends of mine have sent him in the past. (The name's Klaassen if you're scanning Bluekipper Mr D!! You should remember it by now.) A Chief Executive who effectively turns money away when the club is skint. (That's what happened Saturday, and, a few years back, I actually received a refund for my 2 Legends memberships when it was decided I could no longer have them and sit alongside all my mates in PE2. I was living in Dublin at the time and nobody I told could ever believe how the club treated me, especially when they saw how I would travel over for all the games...More recently I got a refund from the Superstore-what a misnomer!- when I sent off for new home and away(silver) socks for my kids. Guess what; they don't stock the away ones any more!! D'you want to sell any stuff Dunford?) This is a guy who presides over a regime that sends credit card applications to my kids aged 9 and 7. He tells us the club have tightened up on all waste and then insists on writing 3 times to my address on every subject, simply because there are 3 season-ticketholders here.

Lots of fans have bad memories of the Cup Final ticket fiasco, and there have been numerous other ticketing cock-ups, which led to the general "grass-roots" prediction that the Orient arrangements would go "tits up"...... as they duly did! We all know communication from the club leaves a lot to be desired. For example, where the fuck did this tie-up with Lincoln (of all clubs!!!) come from???!! When will we ever hear the end of "Due diligence" on the King's Dock stadium project? It often seems like nobody considers the fans' perspective. Remember the RED season-tickets anyone? And through it all, smiling, smug and self-important, comes Michael Dumbford. Do we really need his page in the programme? And am I alone in noticing how he seems to wish to associate himself more and more with players' contracts and FA politics than with the smooth running of this great club?

Even when the club rightly came out strongly against the minority racism we witnessed at Leicester and Fulham it seemed to require an upsurge by the fans to get Dunford moving. (Whilst I'm on that subject I feel enough has now been said by both fans and club and I really don't need any more of that Mickey Blue Eyes stuff on Superkev....Surely EVERY centre forward gets accused of being lazy...?! I remember it with Royle, the Latch, Sharpy, TC etc and I didn't notice too many of those shouting wearing Ku Klux Klan outfits! Also, the lads behind me at Stoke mentioned the dreaded "L" word every time the ball came within 30 yards of big Dunc....Racism? I don't think so MBE. And do me another favour, mate, "can" the socio-political commentary, and let's keep to matters relating to EFC!)

As someone who last lived in L'pool in 1986 I've had lots of cause to contact the club regarding tickets etc. Generally girls like Maureen and Maxene in the Box Office are A1. Rita London (Marketing) is another who always tries really hard to help, but the rules and red-tape (another red thing I hate!!) they have to cope with are more like the Customs and Immigration office of a third-world country (oops! straying into MBE territory there. Next I'll be using words like "polemic" to describe my little rant!!!) than what you'd expect from a modern company concerned about its customers. You can't blame the staff, but you can blame the policy/decision makers, so please step forward Mr Dunford and get it f#*@in' sorted!

All I want for this club that I love is success and glory. I have no time for anyone that damages us, yet here we have a man in the most senior administrative role making a laughing stock of us. I'm sick of your shit Mr Dungford, please go now! Nick Klaassen. (01/02/02)

Crowd Locked Out

An absolute fucking scandel , how can you sell season tickets to people, and not guarantee them their seat for a cup tie. SACK DUMBFORD!!!!! David Currie. (31/01/02)

Oh No Not My Abel

What's Portuguese for Shithouse? Best of luck for the derby match, or will you have a boil on your arse that day as well? Regards, The Blue Mac. (29/01/02)

Idan Tal is Worth A Place

What has Idan Tal to do to get a start in this Everton team. He is tenacious, has a fair amount of vision and skill has more pace on offer than Usworth and Pembridge down the left.Alexandersson was not at the races ( again ) at least Tal has some fire in his belly - wakey, wakey Walter Smiity and smell the coffee!!

Sad to see Abel Go.

Sad to see abe going his recent performances have been good, and very solid and comfortable in defence.
Paul, London. (24/01/02)

Journey Man, Xavier

If the truth is that we offered Abel a pay as you play contract, I can understand why he has turned this down. Abel is a journey man, if you look at his list of clubs that much is clear, he also is not a young man(29). This will probably be his last contract. I ask would you accept a pay as you play contract in his situation, with Everton's unique ability to injure players at bellfield, never mind run of the mill injury's during games. This is one fan who will be sad to see an experienced European standard player leave.
Paul, Street End, Season ticket holder. (24/01/02)

More Rhinos

I've just read the various emails concerning Rhino and Steve Enty hit the nail right on the head. While no one can argue Rhino's effort, to play in the top flight you would think that a well paid pro would at least be able to pass the ball to one of his own players. Too often (and he's not the only one, is he?) he punts the ball 50 yards down the flanks 'with a chase that' mentality. It may be okay for the Nationwide League but not the Premier. And it's true, if his bird had been happy in London or the Midlands he wouldn't be playing for the Blues now! So
forget all that crap about being a loyal Evertonian and giving 110% effort. Let's get down to reality. HE JUST ISN'T GOOD ENOUGH! Dave Hughes, Melbourne, Oz.

Advantages/Disadvantages of being an OLD AGED TRUE BLUE

Advantages:
1. Cut price Season and Away game tickets.
2. Occasional politeness from away stewards and police.
3. Memories (that no one can take away) of
a. THE GOLDEN VISION.
b. Ball, Kendall and Harvey.
c. Reid, Bracewell, Steven and Sheedy.

Disadvantages.
I may never live long enough to see the likes of 3a,b,c playing for EVERTON again.

Jim Farley Studley. (21/01/02)

One David Unsworth

I have to agree with the contents of 'One David Unsworth'. Don't get me wrong, I am not blind to his faults, ie he can control the ball further than I can kick it and tends to 'slightly' overhit his crosses - BUT he is an evertonian through and through, he is prepared to stand up and be counted (remember some of the crucial penalties he has put himself up for ) and he ALWAYS gives 100% regardless of the stick he takes.
Typical Evertonians though prefer to cheer and shout for the likes of Ferguson cos he's got a tattoo and been to prison. We forget that he is never available when we need him, we forget that v. Sunderland in the Littlewoods cup, captain courageous was prepared to put his coat on and let John Oster (another who was crucified by his own supporters) take the responsibility of the final penalty. If you want to give someone stick, give it to the likes of Ferguson (lazy Scottish shithouse) or our other 'hero' - the Gravedigger - who cant motivate himself for a relegation battle for 'OUR' club. Despite his faults, Unsworth fights for the cause, like many of us would, to the best of his ability. Up Yer Gwladys. (21/01/02)

Rhino

In observation of "There's only one David Unsworth" I would like to make the following comments. Premier League Left Backs are very highly paid players, and there is no excuse for them not to be able to pass a ball to a member of the same team. There is no excuse for them not to be equally adept at using either foot. They do get paid for their crossing ability, they do get paid for having pace and ability to attack as well as defend. For Christ's sake man what planet do you live on, these people play football for a living and get paid megabucks for doing it. Their job is to train and get fit, and take their skills to the football pitch to entertain and compete, using skill, craft, guile, strength, agility, pace, effort. And as regards his loyalty, there is no other club in the premier league where Rhino would even get in the squad, let alone the team. And are you forgetting the reason he came back.......ask his tart.
Having said all that, (if he is selected to play which invariably he will be) I will agree with Alex F on one thing we need to stay off his back. He probably does give 100%, but if this is the type of player the Premier League needs, then I am going to emigrate. Steve Enty Winsford. (21/01/02)

Play the Players in Their right Positions.

Can i just ask why walter consistently resides with playin players out posistion? Just look at the situatuion with wato getting played up front persistently. I mean wato is probably our bestn right back since the great gary stevens but playing him upfront is just an awful tactical decision from walter. I just want to know why it took hi so long to bive joe max a go. And look at the goal he scored against leeds surely that warented a longer strech in the first team. And we had Chadwick on the sidelines why got give the lad a chance to prove himself in the first team. I do think walter is the man for the job but i do disagree with some of his decisions.
Mathew Noon (top balcony since i was 9). (21/01/02)

Baldy Gravesen

Just how homesick will this prick be, if Man Utd or Arsenal, or Barcodes , or rs , put in a bid for him . On your way pal , same as the other idiots , need i name them ? the grass is definately not greener ,fool . one day you will realise how great our club is. Danske Boldspil Union! j. (21/01/02)
