What the Hell was all that about?

Following the Game on Saturday I get in the car and tune on Radio City And proceeded to listen to call after call for David Moyes to resign and how it's just not good enough. I just couldn't believe it. Moyes made a tactical error (Which he admitted to in his interview with MOTD) and he got an absolute slating I honestly thought I was listening to Redshite because we certainly sounded like their fans. We are doing ok we all know that the lads need to close the chances and put the ball in the net.But what help are these people doing by calling for David Moyes head when a matter of weeks ago we beat Liverpool and he was a hero.

We beat the redshite an have struggled since to finish teams off I don't write in with answers but I am writing in to just ask what did these so called supporters think when they were phoning in If Moyes did go we would be finished. Beattie Needs a kick up the Ass (He did this time last year if I recall ). Cahill too quite in the second half. Anywhere Possibly not ready Yet to be thrown in with the big boys. That's all I have to moan about I think David Moyes is fantastic and the whole team are very close to achieving something great at this club stop Moaning and support them will you? Sean Whelan. (03/10/06)

Why?

I have never been a fan of davey davey moyes!!! Just so people don’t start sayin "ner! We finished 4th 3 years ago, ner!" Ram that don’t forget Norwich won more games than us that year from Christmas and they got relegated! Anyway before I get sidetracked and loose my point, I would just like a few points clarified and a public apology from the ginger one! Why did we change our 4-5-1 formula which has served us so well this season so far! Cahill was shackled at times!! Why did we sit back in the second half inviting pressure!! And then to add insult to injury the old "ah we've won this" mentality comes in and Arteta and Johnson are sacrificed! And it is the last substitution which adds on the final 30 seconds in which city done the inevitable!! The decision to bring weir on during the injury time was a disaster! And show the ginger twats ineptitude. We need to win these games, drawing with wigan and city at home will cost us at the end of the season! Four points dropped there no doubt, we should be one point clear at the top now! Get a grip moyes before we start to slip! Beattie? What the fuck! Matt (lower Gwladys season ticket holder)

Taxi For Beattie

Just seen the replay on match of the day, he is very very average alongside AJ, blocks tiny's shot and misses a sitter!! needs to pull his socks up to be part of the toffee's steam roller, we must stay unbeaten longer than villa! shove simon davies in the same taxi! nice to see a little form from nuno! Janandelfed. (03/10/06)

Two Strikers

I would love to see us with the confidence to put two strikers on week in week out. This season is gonna be all about AJ- we know that already, but in my mind it's the youngsters coming through the ranks that have excited me the most. 'Chebe & Hughes looked like 1st team regulars- Vaughny still to come back properly too. I'd like to see moyesy give them a chance against the "smaller" sides in the Premiership this season, it's all a great experience for them. Unfortunately Davies is gonna be out in Jan & VDM has been a total waste of money. I hate complaining' about Moyes cos the man has done a wonderful job in my view, but his wheeling& dealings could be a lot better... BT VDM that defender we bought & sold straight away (and made a healthy loss)- all disappointments. Better advisers please. John, Cardiff. (03/10/06)

Use The Young Keepers

One question. Why is Richard Wright still at the club when we have 3 quality young goalkeepers??? I can't remember the last time I saw Wright play a first team game which didn't include a string of school boy errors.

AJ & Vic.......the futures bright, the futures blue!!! Cheers lads! James

Professionals I think not

Imagine this. It's Sunday We are all watching Everton at Newcastle When Newcastle get a free kick The ball floats into the box and the solid well organized Everton back four all come flooding out of the box and leave at least two Newcastle players clearly off side the Everton Defence look to the linesman and to their amazement see NO FLAG Newcastle player AMEOBE gets the ball looks at the lineman and sees NO FLAG Everyone watching Knows its offside Then in act of true sportsmanship AMEOBE picks the ball up and takes it to the linesman and says WHAT GAME ARE YOU WATCHING I'M OFFSIDE ?

Seems Bizarre and I know I'll get stick for this but don't the players have a responsibility to live up to the name of "Professional " The fact is we blame to much on the match officials I actually don't blame the linesman if he saw it he would give it so surely its up to the players to act professional and take action and point it out to the officials in a professional way

Remember De Canio and the standing ovation True Professional that was? We should be looking at other sports like Golf and the Ryder Cup and of course Rugby where the game is played in true professional and sportsman like attitude. Do We have to put up with Cheats Divers and Players that are so called professional Footballers? Its all wrong. Regards. Sean. (30/09/06)

Everton In Chile

Chaps, I´m travelling through South America with my missus, and currently staying in Valparaiso in Chile which is just a few miles down the coast from Vina Del Mar......home town of the other Everton.

After seeing that they were playing at home to Rangers whilst we were here, it seemed stupid not to go along to see how the team compared. I´d looked at the table and Everton were bottom....won one of the last 9 games, and Rangers being in the top half.

After buying tickets.....2 quid each.....for the Lake end of the crumbling concrete bowl Estadio Sausalito (makes Goodison look space age.......more Elly Port dogs than San Siro), we took our position behind the goal on the concrete steps and were then joined by a band of merry drum bangers led by Richard.....an old Chilean bloke who had been to Goodison back in January to watch us beat Arsenal.

I ask him who the teams star player was, "Nobody" he replied, "this team is very bad"......as the tall, slow centre forward spooned an easy chance into the stand off the side of his right boot, he turns to me....."you see".

So that´s where Brett Angell ended up.

The ground probably holds about 12 thousand and is open air apart from part of the main stand which sits underneath a length of corrugated iron, but a combination of it being the Independence day holidays over here coupled with the team being so crap meant a crowd of maybe two thousand turning out. (Rangers brought about 150)

They made more noise than you could imagine. When they weren´t banging drums they were cajoled by the club mascot.....a combination of Seagull and pelican I think.............It was weird standing with a bunch of chileans chanting......"E....E....E......Everton a Vina Del Mar"

Everton dominated the match and won 3-0. Also hit the bar......the standard was pretty low (Div 3 maybe), but their / our young left back...name not known...would do a better job than Naysmith could ever hope to do.

No photo´s as our camera was robbed by some light fingered Chilean t**t in Santiago.

Sound day, though. Don´t know if this is any use, but thought I´d email anyway. Regards, Chris

Brilliant

I went to the Newcastle match - support fantastic. Best ground in the country, great fans except for some football illiterates (Johnson should have been sent off for handling!!!!!) I send this in as the proper Evertonians wouldn't have been in the section of the ground we were in: In the main stand, some of the seats are sponsored by individuals presumably in memoriam (if yer know yeristery old Evertonians....great idea!). One had the immortal inscription: A Hardon. The seat was appropriately upright at the time! Superb website - Red Shite idea gives so much pleasure to me and my two kids. Brilliant!!!!!!! cheers. Terry Smith. (26/09/06)

Thank God I'm an Evertonian

Just a note of make sure all Evertonians appreciate just how grateful we should be to support our wonderful club. My stepson has a season ticket for Everton and Wigan Rugby League and took advantage of the free tickets available for Saturday's Wigan v Watford match. I have never been to such a dire match in all my life. Sitting in the home end I was actually tempted to stand up and start the signing off myself to try and get the wooly backs going. I've been to loads of Rugby league games at the JJB and 3 grand finals at Old Trafford and the atmosphere is brilliant, but Saturday was just an embarrassment to the whole club, Dave Whelan should pull out and put his money into our coffers. I know its mostly a Rugby town but for fuck's sake why bother if you don't join in. Taking away the 500 or so Watford fans leaves 16,000 homes fans, they could have at least made some noise. All you could here was the silver foil coming off the pies, then the cheeky bastards had the audacity to boo at the end, the players should have booed them. So the next time you feel like moaning about the Blue's just read this and say "Thank God I'm an Evertonian" Regards. Kevin Jones. (26/09/06)

After the Newcastle display Victor Anichebe is the answer!

Apart from the blatant offside alleged goal Newcastle got, Watching the whole game Tim Howard was outstanding for the blues so that tells you a story that we were a poor passing team creating very few clear cut chances. I feel our general link up play was disappointing& AJ & Tim were left to plough a lone furrow up front. Tony Hibbert was a liability the whole game he is no good going forward { can't cross a ball} So Phil Neville is the best right back on our books so play him there! our answer is BIG Victor Anichebe I saw the midweek game man of the match he is awesome shields the ball controls it well & has the ability to turn defenders & link up players in the midfield he is the best centre forward as a youngster since the great Joe Royle in fact he has more pace & I feel would link up well with AJ. So lets go 4 4 2 Mr Moyes with Osman Cahill Arteta & Carsley as our midfield & AJ & big Vic roving the front line a recipe for goals & excitement not kick & rush football. This Victor Anichebe is so special forget carthorse Beattie accept him as a failure Mr Moyes & give big Vic his chance he has earned it. I know he got a bad kicking in the carling cup & was injured today but he was Everton's best player by far & his turn & shot on tuesday night for Cahill's goal was pure class something that Beattie can't do he can't trap a bag of cement, slow coach Beattie 6 millions £s worth of lump of lard has had his fair chance sell him to Newcastle in January & cash in on another midfielder & we have a good chance of Europe. At the moment we are doing well but look a one trick pony side with only AJ up front& teams are so aware he may burn out, big Vic is the answer so please give him a chance Mr Moyes in a 4 4 2 side that will win more than it will lose & entertain us! Its a great start lets build on it & not cling to it! remember a few losses & free fall is not that far away our performance today was poor against a poor side! A good point but it could have been three with style fetch on big VIC NOW! Gill Delahunt. (26/09/06)

The Future's Bright The Futures's Blue

The future of the blue youngsters looks stronger now then I can remember. I can only thank the boys in the back ground for bringing through a slew of players with potentially international pedigree. The next five years will soon give Everton homegrown players to be proud of. This must be the way to go. spending millions is great but seeing a Everton youth make the grade as always been a bigger rush for me. coyb. John Lea. (25/09/06)

Nothing to moan about!

Well after our fantastic start I find myself with absolutely nothing to moan about ! I hope we will not be subjected to any appearances by our Club Captain, why ?, and I would still maintain that Valente is different class to Naysmith but all in all a cracking start to the season. Living in the South and not a million miles from Selhurst Park I have seen rather a lot of Andy Johnson in recent seasons due to family members, not me, having season tickets. I was gutted when we didn`t get him when we tried before but he is here now and I know he will be very successful at Goodison. Just to join in the general condemnation of Richard Wrights performance against Posh. It must be time for him to go. And the further the better! An almost delirious Blue! John. (25/09/06)

Things Are Looking Good

My name is Tom Cowin. I'm 16 years old and I have had a season ticket for 13 years now. I now seem to think that the blues are getting somewhere. Like we have done many and many of times. I think AJ is a great summer signing but the likes of Pistone, Davies, Beattie and Wright all need to go. Maybe in a few years time, Everton will be beating teams week in week out and hopefully win some trophies again!! T.Cowin. Dingle. (25/09/06)

We're gonna win the League

I think that due to our great start the players smelt blood and thought Newcastle was going to be a doddle I think we did ok but i honestly believe we are in danger of letting it go to our heads yes we had hard luck at Newcastle and i think the ref and his officials were an absolute disgrace They frustrated us and got men behind the ball and we found it very difficult to break through them But then that's what wigan did.

We need to re- focus and keep our feet on the ground Man City are next and they will be coming to put there season on track Pearce will be looking for a win we need to be right at them Keeping the ball on the ground and using the wings to zip the balls in for AJ and tiny Neville and Arteta put some great balls in today.

On a positive note i would like to congratulate the everton fans who did not stop singing throughout the whole game and were heard on sky television I thought the chant of "We're gonna win the league " was great i remember we did that at Chelsea a few years ago and the chelsea fans applauded us as well as Jose saying how great and loud the Everton fans were we simply are the best. COYB. Sean Whelan. (25/09/06)

Once a Blue always a Blue.

The past thirty years living in Canada. I remember getting up early sunday morning going round to buy the paper looking for a two line mention of the blues, if you were lucky. Times have changed games are shown three in a row. Enough football for any soccer starved nut. We know the world has got smaller. Thank god for that. We can now have a print out as the game is played can you believe it? The pain of leaving Liverpool as got a lot easier. COYB. John Lea. (21/09/06)

Wallpapers

Just had to say the new wallpapers are superb. My hubby and THREE sons are all reds and I take a fair bit of stick throughout each season, but the p.c. is MINE and they have to face a new wallpaper every week ! Have got the latest one (carlsberg) on at the moment and it winds them all up when they go to use the p.c.!!! Best blue site on the web...even jealousy from the redmen in my house cos no red site comes even close in terms of info, reports and funny stuff etc. They all seem to take themselves far too seriously! Keep up the good work. Trish. (21/09/06)

Everton Strikers

How good Was Victor last night? He was awesome!!! It was like watching Big Dunc vintage 1995!!! Lets not get carried away though. He wasn't being marked by Fabio Cannavaro or John Terry. Then again nor was James Beattie, and Victor had a much better game than his considerably more expensive strike partner. He was big, strong, quick, aggressive, tracked back and always looked a threat. Could he be the next big thing?

Possibly, but lets just take a trip down memory lane shall we. Over the years a number of "next big things" have looked like becoming the future of Everton and worthy wearers of the famous number 9 shirt. For various reasons Branch, Cadamarteri, Jeffers, Jeavons, Rooney, Barlow (maybe not), etc have failed to follow Joe Royle's example and grow to become legends at Goodison. Lets hope that Vic is different. Lets not get too excited but at the same time, lets not be too pessimistic either. He looked good in pre-season and he looked very good last night. If he's playing better than Beattie, then perhaps he should move above him in the pecking order. Simple as that. Teams should be selected on form. Yes, he's inexperienced but how do you get experience if you don't play. One for the future definitely. One for the present? Maybe. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of James Beattie. On his day he is up there with the best of them.

Just look at the home games against Chelsea, Fulham and Arsenal last year. The thing with Biffa is that you know when he's going to have a good game because he has that sort of arrogant swagger about him. As if his marker doesn't deserve to be on the same pitch as him. This season we haven't seen that confident side to him. He stuck away the penalty well on saturday though so lets hope it's just a dip in form. As we all know form is temporary whereas class is permanent. Then there's AJ. What a player and what a buy by David Moyes. Lets hope his form continues because he is genuine quality. Cottee and Newell got off to similar starts in their Toffees careers but look what happened to them. I'm sure AJ will be more of a Beardsley though. The magic 20 goals here we come!!!
Here's a thought for you, on the last game of last season we said an emotional farewell to one great forward in the shape of Duncan Ferguson who scored. Remember who else scored that day? What a way to pass on the torch. As a legend scores his last goal, Vic gets his first. Coincidence? As someone once said it is a funny old game after all. Spencer Bishop. (21/09/06)

Posh Game

Watched the Posh game match on sky. If people think the standard of Premiership referees leaves a lot be be desired at times, it must be far worse in the lower leagues, as demonstrated by the lad who did last nites game. In the first half he gave a handball against Big Vic when it clearly wasn't and three times in the second half the same player gets upended by one of their defenders and the frees go the other way ! Poor Vic couldn't believe it but fair play to the young lad, he kept going and essentially made Cahill's winner. I'd like to see how Vic and AJ would do together in the future. Given there were a changes it was a satisfactory result and that's about it. Only damper was that Van der Meyde again failed to show us what he can do. Apparently he walked straight down the tunnel when substituted.. wonder what the future is for him now. Mark. (21/09/06)

Big Vic A Star

Can I just say how bloody much i like Anichebe. He had a cracker against Peterborough last night. He really does seem to be the partner AJ might be looking for if BT doesn't pull his finger out. Cheers. John from Cardiff. (21/09/06)

Richard Wright

...is an embarrassment - he should never be allowed to taint our club again! Regards. Norman Turner. (21/09/06)

Peterborough Game

Everyone sees a different game, but i thought Joleon Lescott was absolutely impregnable. Nothing got past him all match long, he cleared off the line, was never beaten in the air, covered both flanks when needed and played some good football out of defence. Inspirational.

Simon Davies also looked lively - maybe just because of the occasion, Anichebe looked incredibly strong, and with Johnson running off him, could
be a key part to our future. lastly, I've always wanted to give Richard Wright a chance, but tonight he looked incredibly poor and indecisive against a League Two side. Says it all really.
Kevin Dacey, St Albans. (21/09/06)

Andy Johnson - Nothing but the Best

Re your comments in Nothing but the Best. You said ‘…he calls us one of the biggest clubs in the country, with the best fans. Welcome to the world of Everton Andy, once its in your blood there's no escaping.’ Well let’s be honest, while I’m as pleased as anyone that Jonno is putting them away for us like a good ‘un, especially against you know who, it would be churlish to forget our recent dalliance with another young man, who also, you would have assumed, had the world of Everton in his blood – well at least until a few more dollars more were waved under his nose. There is no more loyalty amongst players; and don’t you forget it or you’ll be in for some more bitter gut-wrenching disappointment one day soon at a club near you. Adrian. (21/09/06)

Mickey Mouse

Playing against a Mickey Mouse side - Simple Simon, Wright, and Andy Pandy looked Mickey Mouse players. All the Evertonians could see it. So new year it's time for them to go, Mr. Moyes. BAZSHAMROCK. (21/09/06)

Thanks Nigel Martyn

With the Derby being the greatest day of my life and the subsequent drinking and singing that has followed in the days after, I forgot something. The pundit on Sky last night reminded me of something I should have said. Cast your minds back to that glorious day at Goodison. Just before the kick off against the RS a man in a suit strolled on to the pitch to say god bye to the fans that were singing his name not so long ago. That man was Nigel Martyn.

Without a doubt the best keeper we've had since Big Nev hung up his rather large jersey. Really all i wanted to do was thank you Nigel for the 100 games of great service he gave us. (we can even forgive the Leeds thing now). So, Nigel Martyn thank you very much and good luck with whatever you decide to do. Spencer Bishop. (21/09/06)

Wigan Game

Well, it goes without saying that one or two us will point the finger at Moyesy for his team selection and substitutions, but my view is there wasn't a lot wrong with the team that flattened the RS so why change it ? That said, the loss of Carsley was significant as he was having another influential game in midfield. I say give Wigan credit as they could have folded after the first goal but kept motoring forward. Heskey turned in the sort of performance we know he's capable of, but rarely see ,and gave the two Joeys no end of trouble .Scharner scoring two goals is no fluke- he is a very useful asset for Wigan and importantly gets goals.

We have a much better look about us this year, and whilst AJ rightfully takes the plaudits for this hard work and goal return, the midfield are proving a nice balance of tenacity (Carsley, Neville) and skill (Osman, Arteta) and of course in Cahill we have both. The new central defence is very promising and our full backs have started well also. Let's just hope that the astute Mr Moyes gets the boys fully focused for Newcastle next week, a ground which has offered us little reward over recent seasons. I am sure he will work his magic on the training ground and look forward to a performance on a par with the Tottenham game. I think a run out for Wright, Weir, Van Der Meyde, Anichebe and even Vaughany at Posh would be a good idea ? COYB. White rose blue. (18/09/06)

ANDY JOHNSON CLIPS

Boys, those clips of AJ on the site had me pissing myself, especially the Indian clip and the new Shite web site with Benny Hill theme! Keep up the great work, Kevin. (18/09/06)

Blue Blubber

Please print this as it would make my week complete, after that magnificent tonking of the red shite, Just got this txt message off my mate roachy (he's a rs, but gave us our due). ....Andy Johnson is bringing out a pop record this week, it's called "Reina Drops Keep Fallin On Me Head" brilliant site lads, keep up the good work, JC, Bootle.
