Fernandes Deal

I note info on the deal has slipped down the pecking order on the official EFC site. What does that mean I wonder? John. St Helens. (31/01/07)

Riquelme & Alan Smith

Did I hear right...are we allowing Manny slip through our fingers, as we did Sissoko? Have we not learned? The board must dig deep, I'm tired of this nonsense. I'm hearing loads of rumours regarding Riquelme & Alan Smith, please say they are true? Cheers. P.C. (31/01/07)

What's Going On?

What must be going on behind the scenes if players are choosing piss poor sides like Charlton over the fourth greatest decorated side in English football? I've always been one to defend moyes but the last few weeks have started to test my patience. efc4life. (31/01/07)

What's The Point?

Is it just me, or is anyone else at their wits end? I am sick to death of hearing we are offering loan deals left right and centre and our targets. (I use the term target very loosely, as its my belief these names are leaked to the press to show the more blind fans we are after people). Our "targets" are then snapped up on permanent deals. Our squad was paper thin anyway so now we let Weir go, and Simple, loose Jimmy Mac thru injury, not to mention Kilbane in the summer never replaced and now I hear Mark Hughes has been told he can go and Bjarni Vidarsson has been told to go out on loan! And more recently that Fernandes bloke who had a medical and passed it. But we are now arguing over the fee!!! The reason he never signed for Pompey was the £12 million fee. Are we that fucking stupid to offer £5m for a £12m rated player and expect not to get fucked off? Didn't we offer £10m for shearer a week after he signed for Newcastle for £12m? And now to add insult to injury the shite have joined the race for him! So no doubt another one lost to the enemy (Momo Sissoko ring any bells). I for one am sick to death of my club, yes it is my club I have invested a lot of money in them over the 30 years I have been going. I consider it part mine as am sure many blues do! Becoming a laughing stock in the city! The shite have suitors lining up around the corner to throw money at them! We get some goon from planet Hollywood with his pockets stitched up!

I just wonder what our real ambitions are? Average in the league, fucking appalling in every cup competition we enter! A manager who seems to have no power to motivate or attract players to the club and who incidentally finished last season with our lowest points tally and goals scored tally and is still in charge of my club! In any other industry a manager with his record would have went years ago! Something must be going on at Everton and as part owners we have a right to know what it is! Future Evertonians are turning to the red shite if we don't act soon to make our club great again, we are going to do a City or a Forest or a Sheff Wed or a Leeds and slip out of the top flight into the championship and that would be it for us! We would not bounce back from that! We have the foundation to be a great club and it is criminal if we do not build on it! Matt (lower Gwladys season ticket holder). (31/01/07)

David Nugent

Sky's Goals on Sunday host Rob (I don't dye my hair) McCaffery, reported after seeing David Nugents FA Cup wonder goal that he is refusing to sign for anyone except Everton. Good news you would think, unless you know our manager and board. They tend to think comments like that mean they can get him on the cheap and wait until its too late and Newcastle (serial Everton target pinchers) or Spurs (buy anything young and with a heartbeat) come in with a solid offer and we have missed another up and coming star, who will double his current worth after one year in the Premiership. Anyone listening closely will have heard McAteers' condescending snigger at that particular piece of news. What have you lot heard? Dave Roberts. (31/01/07)

Sunshine Around The Corner

The people who support Everton win or loose, thank you. If you ask most blues who have been around, we have a reason to moan. The past years have been awful, But give Moyes time. It looks like grey skies are going to clear up. Put on a happy face. If we beat the reds watch out, spread sunshine all over the place. Well you know the rest. COYB. John Lea. (31/01/07)

Moyesy, swap oliver hardy for mido, please. Tony Graham. (31/01/07)

Lack of Transfers

If Moyes lets Charlton get Bougherra in this transfer window, it goes to show how bad we really are as a club! Tits off with uncle bill and the rest of the clowns running this shower of shite! Miley. (31/01/07)

Wyness & JJB

Thoroughly enjoyed reading the interview on your website, but was a bit disturbed with his responses relating to JJB and merchandising.

I live in Colchester in Essex but still manage to get up to a few games every year, when i do i always visit the club shop afterwards to buy something to show my support for my beloved blues. Alternatively i'll occasionally order something directly from the shop online, but occasionally I'd like to be able to buy merchandise in town.

Here in Colchester we have two big JJB outlets, one in the town centre, the other on a retail park just outside of town. I went into the town centre one today and wandered down to look at the football shirts etc and there was absolutely nothing relating to EFC, no replica shirts, polo shirts or anything else! What annoyed me further was the amount of merchandise available for the Redshite!!!!! I expect JJB to have lots of items for Spurs, Arsenal and Chelsea due to the fact we are only an hour from London. I can also understand the level of merchandise for Man Utd as Essex is a hotbed of their fan base, but if they can display ALL the Redshite strips as well as other gear why nothing for my team????

I would really like to see the store by store figures, that Mr Wyness mentioned, for here as nothing is stocked!!! How can sales be increasing when there is never anything to sell? I thought that the deal with JJB would guarantee that I could by goods locally and I was looking forward to doing so. Perhaps MBE could next time ask whether JJB or EFC decide what is stocked where!!! Keep up the great work, always visit the site daily to catch up on the news!!!! Cheers. Martyn. (31/01/07)

MBE Interview With Wyness

Half Way. What do I think of this? Not a lot! No concrete answers to anything asked. No addressing of the dire team performances and poor managerial tactics. High focus on money, that's MONEY - seems to be all the game is about especially for CEOs with big fat pay rises. Utter shit. Peete. (31/01/07)

Embarrassing

What a joke, First they come out & tell us that Fernandez has passed a medical & is ready to be unveiled & now I hear he is going 2 the fucking SHITE! Then Boughera at Bellefield & passed a medical but couldn't agree terms. He was at Sheffield Wednesday for fucks sake. How much could they of been paying him that we couldn't add a little to make him feel that he's getting an adequate pay rise to play in the premiership. Whoever is dealing with our transfers should be sacked! Don't fucking say nothing until the deals done, your making us the fucking laughing stock of the league! A pissed off, Ahmed Doghem. (31/01/07)

Bring On The Derby

Having read several of our so called Evertonian web sites I am amazed at the volume of negativity with regards to our chances in the derby. You would think Liverpool were hammering everyone in site and it was not worth even turning up! What a load of rubbish!! Commentators talk about what a great record they have at home this season, they obviously do not consider the Arsenal results into this category, they are obviously played at a different home ground! With the exception of an injury ravaged Chelsea ( that almost sounds like an oxymoron! ) who have they actually beat at home? I hope we can sign an additional midfielder in this window, but even with what we have, there is enough talent to beat them. Quite frankly without Gerrard mediocre describes them perfectly. Blue Oz. (26/01/07)

Don't let Yozzer go!

Please don't decimate the squad even more Moyes, Mark Hughes is a decent prospect who loves the club. I'm seething to think he is even contemplating him going. Loan, ok, fair enough, but please don't let the lad go. Yours rather depressed. Rich Welsh Blues. (26/01/07)

Michael Ball

I am sure someone on this great web site can tell me what Everton Football Club have against Michael Ball? I have just read he is going to City for a weeks trial. For gods sake we could have him for free and he is better than anything we have got there at the moment. The lad is only 27, there was rumours Everton were considering a swap deal the other week with him and Van der Meyde, why is Moyes not interested? Particularly pissed off. Oz Blue. (26/01/07)

Transfers

Please....... I Know i ain't the manager but these players everton need.

1. Alan Smith (Manchester United) On Loan If Can.
2. Boughera (Sheffield Wednesday) £2.5-3 Million.
3. Manuel Fernandes (Benfica) Loan With a View to Permenant.
4. Sebastion Larrsson (Birmingham City) On Loan From Arsenal. £2 Million

£5 million now. Smith will cost 5 million. Fernandes 7 million that's 12 Million. I Know we have Howard to pay for if we make that permanent but that won't be much as united still owe us. 17 million altogether and it makes this:

Howard
Neville Yobo Lescott Boughera
Arteta Fernandes Cahill Larrsson
Smith Johnson

Outside the Arsenals, United's, liverpool, Chelsea that would be the best team in the league without a shadow of a doubt so please, buy these four players S.A.P. We need to spend and if we get these players in we will make Europe this season and be competing with spurs where we should be. Laquaduct. (26/01/07)

The future is not Orange it's YOZZER

If the Blues are to grow into the force we all want them to be we need the right mix of players. Selling all the quality from the Youth Development Programme just doesn't add up. Only Rooney has really made it from the Youth Cup Final Team.

In six months time the following players Yozzer, Stubbsy, Pistone, Carsley and Wrighty all end their current contracts (I have not included Bjarni as he has not had a chance of first team action). I bet if you ask most Blues who we should keep for 2007/08 season you will get the majority saying "KEEP YOZZER", the sentimentalists saying "Keep good old Carsley" (chorus of "Who put the ball in the redshite's net? Super Lee Carsley...) and the rest saying "Get rid of the old deadwood".

In the past Gough, Weir, Todd, Stubbs, and others have found Goodison the perfect place to top up their pensions. We shouldn't have a defence dependant on OAP central defenders. Football gets quicker and Blues defenders are getting slower if we keep to the trend. This is not a recipe for success. Youth and quality are major ingredients for success and Yozzer has both, so if your fishy story is correct.... IT STINKS.

Harvey, Ablett, Harper and Sheedy have all tried to develop our youth set up but the pensioners keep taking the kids jobs before they are given a fair chance. Then we have the club saying they have no money to buy talent, whilst letting a tidal wave of talent flow out to other clubs. It doesn't add up.

If we are to become like pre-Icelandic West Ham selling the likes of Lampard, Cole, Carrick, Ferdinand etc depending on the likes of Sheringham and yoyoing between divisions then carry on by all means. But don't expect to fill the ground we have let alone any new and improved one..

The future is not Goodison or Kirkby it's YOUTH. Clare Voyant. (26/01/07)

New Striker

David Healey has not proved himself at the top level, neither has David Nugent! A good stop gap on loan until the summer, with an option to buy, would be Mido from Spurs. He is more mobile than Beattie and has proven himself at this level as a scorer and a good target man! Mal (trueblue) Butnotholdings. (26/01/07)
