In answer to Bimbo's question on Blue Noses. You can get them from the Rangers shop. Don. (14/03/07)

Moyesy's Tactics

Moyesy is still tactically naive. Arteta is best playing centre mid. Ossie is too lightweight in there. Tracey Woolridge. (14/03/07)

Fashion Show in Llangollen

I'm holding an event with the local school here in Llangollen in aid of the school in Nepal and EFC Garma on 20th March. Its a fashion show of kids clothes, all proceeds to EFC Garma. (free entry for Evertonians). I'm going to make a display out the shirts I've collected through the appeal on Blue Kipper and should get some good press out of it. Thanks. Alan Hill. (14/03/07)

Slyness Wyness

Having just read the point from Martin O’Shea re ticket prices, has he only just worked out that his new ticket will be the same price (roughly) as last season? No it’s not a con. I think that it’s called marketing? Yes it is cheaper than a full ticket but, it the same basic deal as last year’s- buy early and save a bit. For info, mine is U Glad and I’m paying about the same as last year (with my 10% off). Spirit of the blues. (14/03/07)

Everton Wedding Garter

I am writing to you today as I am desperate to buy an Everton wedding garter. I have seen on your web page a picture of the garter and I wanted to know where I could get one from. I am getting married next year to a huge Everton fan and this will make his day - Please Help! Kind regards, Mary. (14/03/07) Ed: Everton Megastore have none in stock. Try here. Jacquis Bridal

Ever fancied working for Everton?

The Learning and Skills Council has launched a competition for kids to win a work experience placement at the club! They just need to apply at www.getsetforlife.org.uk - it's totally free to enter and you get your expenses paid during the placement. Dream work placements at Everton FC, Sony BMG Records and Rick Stein to be won. Young people in England are today being urged to apply for dream work experience placements set up by the Learning and Skills Council (LSC).

To inspire young people the LSC has launched a competition for 16-18 year olds to win aspirational work placements. The placements include a week at Trevor Sorbie’s salon, Everton FC, the Newcastle Falcons Rugby Club, Sugar magazine or working as a sports journalist for Sportsbeat.

The LSC has set up the competition to raise awareness of the possibilities young people have - but only if they achieve at least five good GCSEs or the vocational equivalent, such as Level 2 diplomas in subjects like Motor Vehicle Maintenance, Multimedia Design or Animal Care.

Each placement is in an industry where a minimum level of qualifications is essential and highlights the fact that gaining relevant work experience along with these qualifications will add over £141 a month to a young person’s starting salary.

To apply for one of these placements taking in place during May half term young people must log on to www.getsetforlife.org.uk where they can submit a short statement on which position they would most like to win and why they deserve this once in a lifetime experience. The prize includes travel and accommodation near to the work placement, so young people from all over England can apply.

The competition is targeted to reach the 20 per cent* of young people who the LSC predicts will drop out of education and training this year in favour of work and access to an immediate pay packet - a decision that some may later come to regret.
Cheers. Simon. (14/03/07)

Arteta

If we lose Mikey now it would be a disaster. He is the kind of player we need to build a team around. Manny is still an unknown (& expensive) quantity, we need to retain Mikey at least for another two years, by then we would have won the league! Cheers. PC. (12/03/07)

Season Ticket Renewal

I have just read the details on the official EFC site in regards to the Season ticket renewal and the 10% reduction!

When I first read the news on teletext and various sites, then it was splashed all over the Sun newspaper praising EFC on a price reduction on 10% I thought brilliant, well done Everton.

Last night myself and two friends were discussing the price reduction, and trying to convince one of my friends to renew his ticket, especially as there is 10% off, he was considering renewing it again.

We are in Lwr Gwladys AA124-127. However, after checking the details on the official site and then phoning the box office, I find that I am actually paying more than last season for the same seat in the Lower Gwladys as my renewal was £424 last year, this years price is £427. An increase of £3.

THIS IS NOT A 10% PRICE REDUCTION.

I believe Mr Wyness has put a spin on this, to get some press for EFC, but the truth is we are all being conned, and you are using the national press to make EFC look like you are helping the fans in the wake of the campaign to cut the cost of footy? Can you honestly inform me that I have had a 10% reduction on last years price when I am paying £3 more this year? PLEASE EXPLAIN? Regards. Martin O'Shea. (12/03/07)

Watford Win

Long Story short. 5 mates went down to Watford on friday for the weekend, come saturday, 4.00, three wanted to stay in the pub, so I and another mate made our way to Watford, meanwhile one of our mates, who stayed in the pub, put the best bet ever on, and won. Everton to win, Fernandez to score first and Osman to score last, he didn't know ozzy wasn't playing. He is photocopying the betting slip it for me and when it arrives I'll post it, but what a bet. Yours Bigjeff. (12/03/07)

Change The Way We Play

Time for a change I don't mean in the management, but in the way we play. We are so boring sometimes, can we be more adventurous starting with the team selection.

My questions for the manager:

Why is Van der Meyde playing in one game then missing the next?
Why does Vaughn never start?
Will we ever try playing 3 up front? Jacob. (12/03/07)

Duncan Ferguson

Definitely a legend, cheered us up through the bad times, whether a great player or not he was (is?) a great Evertonian. Blue blood through and through. Stephen Dunne. (12/03/07)

Happy Birthday

Happy 15th Birthday to Matthew Williams. A true Blue. Love Mum, Dad, Tom, Adam, family and friends. (12/03/07)

Where Can We Get A BLUE NOSE?

Does any one know where I can get a BLUE nose from for (Comic relief)? Me and my sister want to take part, instead of just giving money this year but we can bring our self to wear a red nose. Bluenose Bimbo. (08/03/07) If you know e-mail info@bluekipper.com

Marathon Man

Hope you don't mind me sending this e-mail but like my mum always said if you don't ask you don't get. On Sunday 22nd April 2007 I will be taking part in the London Marathon for the first time, probably be the last as well, the training is murder!! Hardly had a pint for months. I am looking to raise some funds for the National Blind Children's Society and I was hoping that you might be able to give my efforts some publicity.

I am, of course an Evertonian, and have been all my life. I went to my first match in 1965 when I was 7 years old - we lost to Tottenham !! I am currently a season ticket holder in the paddock stand attending the match with the wife. I get fed up explaining the offside rule to her every week! Never mind she was at Rotterdam and the 84 and 85 cup finals with me so you can't fault her dedication to the cause.

With the help of the charity I have set up a web page where people can sponsor me if they so wish. I have put some details on the web page including a picture of me wearing my Everton shirt, the picture was taken on Cahill Walk in Sydney last year on holiday. The web page can be accessed via www.justgiving.com/johndowens Any help would be very much appreciated. Love the website. Cheers. John Owens (08/03/07)

Match of the Day/Goal of The Month

Am I the only Evertonian amazed that Osman's goal against Watford wasn't even included in the candidates? Frank. (08/03/07)

See You In Israel

In the highly unlikely event that anybody will be coming to Israel to watch two shite international teams play each other , I will be happy to meet up with you My phone in Israel is 050 8334307. John de Frece. Chairman ( self appointed )EFCSC Israel. (08/03/07)

Praise Moyes

The peoples club has its share of silly people, if they are Evertonian. The last time we looked this God ? This man Moyes has come to Everton and turned us into the team we have wished for many years. I really hope the fools who complain give themselves a really good shake. We are entering into a chapter of good blues history. Thank God that I will witness. Fifty yrs a blue. COYB: John Lea. (08/03/07)

Duncan Ferguson

Duncan was bombed out of the club two seasons too soon. You can't replace someone like him with his love of the club and his iconic status. Alex Young. (08/03/07)

Season Tickets

Someone please explain to me why I carry on stumping up my hard earned cash for season tickets. Prior to the Club's announcement this week regarding a 10% reduction in prices for next season, I have been tormenting myself about renewal for my son and I. The huge cash injection from TV rights/deals/sell-outs, whatever you want to call them, should have meant a reduction in ticket prices wholesale, not just season tickets. Last season I paid for my renewals before the previous season had ended, thus saving myself around seventy quid, but still had to fork out nearly £800. If I do the same again this year I will be paying the same amount as last year. So where does my 10% saving come into play. Perhaps I was expecting too much from the Club. Saying that, the Club know we will pay up. So, why not introduce a loyalty discount for every year that season tickets have been purchased. The same could apply to fans that pay on the gate every week.

I don't particularly want to save a penny in the pound for goods bought in the Toffee shop, but would appreciate a reduction in ticket costs. I love the Club, but feel our supporters are being ripped off. I recently signed the Football Supporters Federation petition for reductions in the cost of tickets home and away for all Clubs. Apart from that, well done to the lads for the result at Vicarage Road. Eddieparkend COYB. (08/03/07)

Best fans

Just thought I would send you confirmation of what we all know anyway. Evertonians are the best fans - as shown in the table below from the Fantasy Premier League web site. You can also check it out at http://fantasy.premierleague.com/M/stats.mc?stat=bestfave
Great site, keep up the good work. Carl Howey. COYB. (08/03/07)

Season Ticket Reduction - Great News

Having just read the news about the new season ticket prices I feel Everton need a pat on the back for this announcement. As far as I am concerned, when you look around at other clubs, we should be thankful to Everton and respect what they are trying to do, which is, be very reasonable to us. This is just my opinion but to pay even less on last years prices before a certain point is a good idea, and to freeze the cost after that certain point is great too. And whilst I am on I would like to say how much I appreciate what David Moyes has done for our club and would never attempt to boo the man during a game, yes he made mistakes, but overall he is the right man for the job and I look back on teams an squads from 6 years ago and am very thankful for what condition we are in now in 2007. I think the future is bright, these things don't happen overnight, especially not with sufficient funds, but to build an grow year by year is the right and only way for us as a club to move forward. onwards and eventually upwards. 4eva blue. Cheers, Mark. (08/03/07)

Season Ticket Con – You can stick it Wyness!

The headline grabbing announcement is just another example of how stupid you think we all are. Child tickets reduced in one section of the ground, with possibly the worst view in the ground and limited capacity. A pitiful 10% off for season ticket holders which will easily be made back in the interest accrued from getting the money in early and no discount for anybody else. Combine this with the extra £20-30 million from the TV deal and it shows what a money grabbing bunch of mercenaries you continue to be.

I hope that Everton FC get what they deserve, after all you have been charging us a small fortune to watch mediocrity for many years now. So lets look forward to grounds like bolton, Wigan and Blackburn because that is what Everton FC and football as a whole deserve.

For my part I am no longer going to be a mug, I have supported the club for over 40 years and you can keep you 10% discount. Brian Sheerin. (08/03/07)
