The Time Is Now It was great to come and see the old place rocking against Portsmouth. But 32 quid to be obstructed by 3 posts one right in middle of park end goal it is time to move on. Lets hope its sorted soon. so we can kick on and be where we should be at the top. Mark blue from bedfordshire. (21/05/07) Our History will be the end of us I am really starting to get riled with a lot of Evertonians who just can’t accept that sticking at Goodison or spending £300 million on a stadium is only going to put us further and further behind them next door. Get real, we need to snap tesco terry’s arm off somewhere around the shoulder and graciously thank him for being a true blue, and putting all his life work up for everton football club. Guys please don’t become our own worst enemy. Kirkby is the way forward!!! And just to re-iterate what a previous poster said “I have not yet heard one viable argument against moving to Kirkby. And no I don't live there, and its not closer to my house, and I'm not a Tesco shareholder !!!! “ Everton Forever, Wherever we are!!!! Tony Bonney. (21/05/07) When Is The Vote? So exactly when are the fans going to get there vote on this ground move? All I can see is Everton pumping more and more money into something that if the fans have there way wont even go ahead, therefore wasting hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of potential transfer money, surely once any plans where made the fans should of been consulted, before it got this far. Yes the club need to make sure that the move is economically viable but is it worth the money if the fans say no. I
for one am against the move, yes it might be great for the kirkby community.
I know alot of people from Kirkby, non of which are Everton fans People's club my arse, who does keith wyness think he is trying to take away our club, just because the shite, city and bolton can move and get rid of there traditions doesn't mean we should, has the stadium moves done anything to help man shitty or bolton, they play in empty ghost like grounds and increase there revenue by ripping off the away fans from clubs like Everton who travel well. so blue bill has decided that he no longer wants to help this club move on and become great again he would rather help tesco increase there profits more, and his happy to carry on the work of agent johnson and ruin our great club, just to put a little extra in his own pockets. If everton can't raise the money to finance doing this themselves then let the fans pay by way of buying shares, it wont raise all the money but will go some way towards it, the david france collection, basically the history of our club and they cant find the money for it but will carry on pushing ahead with a move the majority don't want Liverpool council, you treat us like the shit on your shoe compared to our rich neighbours, do liverpool really line your pockets that much that you no longer need us to help win you shit awards like european capital of culture, which without the help of everton you would not have won. yes we might not have the international recognition that livershit fc receive but compared to the rest of the teams outside the top four we are the biggest and best and who knows might even break that stranglehold these clubs have on the prizes and top positions Think about it we are everton, and nothing but the best is good enough but is a move to kirkby really the best, id like to think that staying in the old lady is a better option with team investment coming 1st not last, with that will come success and investment so we can go it alone and not have to play our football in the every little helps arena, bill if you really r blue then see sense and tell tesco to fuck off over to tranmere, a club who needs them, I'm sure if you asked ball, labone and dixie what to do they would of told you that this is there home, our home and the home of everton football club. this is our city not there's we belong here and that's where we should stay. NIL SATI NISI OPTIMUM. Mick Thomas. (20/05/07) Was
I right on hearing the other night on the Alan Jackson sports phone
on Radio Merseyside that bully has said only Evertonians who have had
a season ticket for more than three years get to vote on the ground
move? Please tell me I'm wrong. I've got mates who never miss, but just
can't get the doe together to buy a season ticket, and their not going
to get a say in the matter. Well I smell a RAT, and a fat one at that. Old Airport By the old airport would be nice, but I feel that there’s more than that as an option for a new stadium. They seem to be doing something down at pleasure island in aigburth, that would surely be big enough for a stadium, it’s only a stone’s throw from where we originally planned, an am sure we could get it cheap due to past problems? I’m sure if the council looked hard enough there would be loads of places to put the ground, but unless there is an investor like tesco, or something to put the money up, we’ve got no chance in getting somewhere inside Liverpool as there is already a tesco on virtually every corner. I wonder how many fans would become a small investor in the stadium in order to move somewhere we would all like, a fans stadium would be the only solution providing there would be enough money generated, but it seems like it’s all done an dusted even though there is a fans vote which I think probably means nothing by now, as its clear the majority don’t wish to move but i bet a computer glitch puts votes into the favour of moving! Stephen McConville. (21/05/07) The ongoing debate on kirkby Thirty or forty years ago we moved to Kirkby. Why? Because we where living in houses with no bathrooms, hot water and sitting outside in the middle of winter taking a number two. Lets get real. We lived in greatty thank fk we moved to the great outback called Kirkby. Everton could do a lot worse at least there's new toilets. COYB. John Lea. (21/05/07) Everton's Plans Will Be Shown To Kirkby Residents According to media sources the plans of how Everton’s new football stadium will fit into Kirkby will be shown to residents within weeks. Initial drawings of the possible scheme are now in the hands of senior officials at Knowsley council. They will be released to the public in mid-June, once councillors formally agree to start asking people’s views about the multi-million pound plan. How can this happen, when the fans have not had a promised vote to decide if we should move there or not. John. (20/05/07) On The Banks Of The Mersey There's only one place. It's at the rear of the old airport, but is it to late ???? There's a warehouse for sale, right on the banks of the Mersey. It's that big you would fit Goodison inside it, but I feel it's all done and dusted. k. (08/05/07) No White Flag It's
really simple. The RS have been incredibly pig-headed and petulant about
sharing a ground with us; I wouldn't be opposed to it at all if it meant
we both stayed in the city. Funny how they can't bear to share a ground
with a local "small club" and yet how it hurts like f**k when
they take 1 point off us in a season. I wish they'd make up their mind
about who their real rivals are - us, the MankYanks, Chelski, Arse etc.,
etc... I hope it bankrupts them and sinks into an as-yet-unknown underground
abyss. If we now move out, it really is the white flag flying. It cannot
be allowed to happen. Even though I no longer live in the area, I am
passionately against the whole Kirkby thing and find it hard to believe
that real Evertonians like Bill and Sir Tel can even seriously consider
it. I'm not suggesting we all abandon commercial reason but that we
should also consider, to at least the same degree, the wider impact. Any stadium will do - Bully's desperate throw of the dice??? Why has nobody realised that Wyness is trying to force the stadium issue through because he has delivered little else? As CEO he has spent a fortune on a consultancy culture at Goodison, sold any land we owned and gutted the soul from within the Club. His role when he arrived was to sort out the stadium, bring in investment and improve the day-to-day running of the club. People's Club my arse! Everton are a joke with business circles, the club hasn't had any investment and we are looking like settling for a new pitch next to a supermarket. Serious questions need to be asked to the motives behind a 50,000 (?) stadium. Is this adequate to seriously compete in the Premiership (or even Europe - Moyesy's not done too bad - hope I haven't spoke too soon), I think not. The aspiration is weak and we are not even getting second best. I don't really care whether the new ground is in Liverpool or the Liverpool City Region as long as it is world class! Wyness is pushing the Tesco project because he needs to deliver something, anything, to start his negotiations for a new contract! Evertonians should not let this happen - Nil Satis. Julie Smith. (08/05/07) Still A Derby How on earth can anyone think that wherever we play it won't be a derby? I'm sat here listening to the chat before the Manc derby on Sky, nobody has ever used any other word but 'derby'. However MU are NOT in Manchester, but does anyone give a damn, has it ever been mentioned, has a single City player, fan pundit made any reference to only 1 club in the city - NO not one. Lets not kid ourselves however big the derby is for us I have no doubt it is just as big for the mancs and nobody gives a damn about where the grounds are. The reality is that the site is a smokescreen what really hurts is the thought of leaving - full stop. Of course it will be painful but as the song goes "parting is such sweet sorrow" yes great sorrow at leaving but the sweet will be a new stadium with new finances that might allow us to compete better with the so called top four including the dark side. Jim Hourigan. (08/05/07) Stay At Goodison Tesco Stadium? No thanks, I'd stay at Goodison until it fell down with me still inside... Along with the legend Dixie. Everton till I die (just like Goodison)... Roody Miller. (08/05/07) Yes To Kirkby I've
heard all the moaning and whinging about the Kirkby Move and it really
is going to stand in the way of our clubs progress. I for one (and I
know loads who feel the same) do not want to sit in an ageing even partially
re-developed Goodison park, looking over at a 70,000 palatial yankee
stadium that puts our effort to great shame, just 200 yards away. Imagine
travelling supporters and city visitors eyeing our piss poor effort
when visiting the red shite and laughing. "Yes you've really progressed
there Everton". Biased Council I’m sorry, but doesn’t it seem a little ironic that we were the first in and are probably going to be the first out! All because of a biased city council that without us would have had no chance in hell of winning capital of culture which as we all no, even though it is great and makes us all proud to live in Liverpool, has been milked more than the laughing cow. What would the council be doing now without this accolade? Probably getting bollocked about how shit it is by the Government. I know someone who was part of capital of culture bid team and she told me that without the sport in this city and how it plays a huge role in the communities of this city then we wouldn’t have won it. Were unique in that we seem to have every sport imaginable in Liverpool and that we have two Premiership class football teams within the city boundaries which contribute so much to the council, community and people of this city. Who else can boast that they can produce a derby that can create the bitterest of rivalries but the best of friendships all at the same time? You never see the derbies in London being as well publicised as the Merseyside derby mainly due to the fact they happen all the time(shit! critised my own point) but they haven’t got the same passion or expectation or excitement than ours. What happens when we move? Do we still have a derby? If we do will it still be the same? I know it seems like I’m only focusing on the derby but staying in the city will mean this and much more to blues, the council should be flying arse over tit to make sure we stay in Liverpool, if they haven’t got land for us at the min they should damn sure make sure they have when we need it, even if it means moving something or getting rid of something. Its funny that the council can be so naïve and biased, like Graeme said, that they do everything they can to ensure Liverpool get a new ground, even though we probably contribute more, by basically giving them Stanley Park, offering to pay for what the shite cant afford when without us they would be nothing(I’m sure use all know the past). In fact Liverpool should be fighting for us to stay in the city as they benefit from us being here, we make money for the council and other organisations, they takes it off us- they give it to LFC to be the public face of football for the city. Don’t get me wrong I love Goodison, it scares the shits out of the enemy and gives the old cliché of the 12th man a new meaning of about 5 extra men with the fans being the best in the world ( how often do you get 40,000 week in week out) and with them being so close, but its old and we need to modernise and make it bigger so we can get all the blues that cant get in in and the recognition we and the club deserves. If Big Bill does move us he defiantly has to hold out for a place in the city and i'm sure he could persuade his so called ‘Mate’ to build a Tesco where he hasn’t already put one. DR. (05/05/07) Stay In Liverpool Everton have moved nearer to having a new ground. How the hell can the board even think about moving to Kirkby. Liverpool the city is ours. We were the first team on Merseyside. So we are not going anywhere. Wainwright. (05/05/07) Everton Can't Afford It Hi all you toffees out there. I'd just like to say something about our stadium move. Firstly I would watch EVERTON no matter where they played but my preference would be Goodison. I cannot understand why EVERTON cannot redevelop the Park Stand ie build a second tier and some exec boxes for the corporate's, then knock down the Bullens Road and start again. I am sure you could push the capacity up to 50000 which is ample. In my opinion EVERTON cannot afford to do this and thus rely on TESCO to build the stadium. Neil Brimage.
