West Ham Cash

The biggest joke of the day has got to be the rumour from the Times today. West Ham are to table bids for both AJ and Tiny Tim. No amount of cash will change my mind that it will definitely be a step backwards, but knowing Everton of late anything is possible. Dav Watts. Wallasey. (05/06/07)

Transfers

I think we should sign Jason Lomas as he looks a great winger. Also, about time we got a good striker. Its a toss up with Darren Bent and our favourite David Nugent. Although, it's difficult to judge if David can do it in The Premiership, I would definitely take a gamble, with him alongside
Andy Johnson up front. Then, David should get rid at the earliest opportunity James Beattie. He hasn't done it for us, to me is a complete
waste. David should get, in my view, a good midfielder. Young is the key with loads and loads of pace. Then turn his attentions to someone alongside Joseph Yobo and the lad whose enjoyed a brilliant season from Wolves. As for Joey Barton, please no, sure he is a brilliant player but
very unpredictable in his behaviour. I`d rather Mark Hughes from our Reserves, was given a good run out. Best wishes, Paul Hughes. (05/06/07)

Speculate To Accumulate

Tell me all these rumours are not true? Koumas? Jagielka? What happened to star names to help us achieve European football every season? Star names to encourage and reassure the likes of Cahill, Arteta, Johnson and Lescott to stay with our club and challenge for trophies? Get your hand in your pocket Kenwright and Moyes needs to be looking at better quality. It is two seasons ago all over again! We should be looking at Barton, Reo Coker, or even Parker, yet again we are losing out to shite like Newcastle and West Ham, it is not good enough. Speculate to accumulate, it is not as though these players will cost Everton the earth. Disgruntled blue. (05/06/07)

Calling New York Toffees

I am a lifelong blue exiled in USA. Wondering if you know of any EFC supporters clubs in New York (Long Island in particular). Paul R. Bellmore, NY. (05/06/07)

KLM Story

Returning from Amsterdam on Saturday i was made up to be on the same KLM flight to Manchester as our very own Mr Moyes. He was with his family so i thought .." hang back don't steam in he's on a jolly ..." ....anyhow couldn't resist it any longer when i was sat down in the seat behind him . I tapped him on the shoulder and said " Dave ..sorry to disturb you mate , but what a season we've had , you have put pride and passion back into our team.. and i had to tell you how proud you've made me of our club".... " Nay problem I'm glad yi enjoyeeed the seesin " replied the great man...... after another minute i tapped him on the shoulder and said ,," have ya been negotiating terms with KLM for Andy Van to join them as a trolley dolly ?" the great man gave a little snigger and said " Aye right enuff ... even KLM wuddanae huv him......"
priceless. Joeverton

No Everton Swag In JJB

Thought I'd drop a quick line in to highlight the lack of Everton merchandise in both the Chester and Bromborough (Croft Retail Park) branches of JJB There is absolutely nothing to do with our Club in either of our sponsor's retail outlets. So sack them for someone that's interested. Are we that desperate for income to have people on board that, just like the media, want to promote the big (ha ha) clubs? Their shops are saturated with arsenal, chelski and SHITE kits. They're obviously more interested in catering for the Southern market than for us.

While I'm talking about shite, isn't it fantastic to see Graham 'Liver' Poll berating the FA for the fact he was one of the worst referees (ha ha) to set foot on Goodison Park. He claims that he never f'avoured' certain 'teams'. Behave yourself soft lad, 40 thousand blues fans can't be that biased or stupid not to see you for what you were. Eddieparkend. COYB. (05/06/07)

Howard v Man Utd Debate

Having spoken to someone in the know about it. As we all know the agreement was in place while the player was on loan for the season. United feel that they did us a favour by allowing us to sign Tim earlier than the end of the loan as allowing the season to end may have resulted in other clubs coming in for him based on his excellent form and his price would have risen. It was stated that in the best interests of the deal and to avoid any potential FA wrong doings that the original loan deal would stand as is and that is why he didn't play and not because Moyes is a tart or we are Manure feeder club as banded about on here. Craig B. (05/06/07)

Big In Japan

I would like to know if there is a Japanese Everton Supporters club. I have just moved to Tokyo and would like to meet fellow blues to watch the game, have a pint or two and just generally chat about our great club. Any Evertonians here in Japan and especially here in Tokyo who are either a member of a supporters club or would like to help setting up a club please contact me. I am sure I am not the only Evertonian here in Japan! Cheers. Shaun. (05/06/07)

Barton: Political Correctness Or Fear Of Rocking The Boat?

I’ve just read EddieParkend’s email on Joey Barton and have to say that I agree with all he says and would like to reinforce his views with a couple of my own and then ask a few question.

Barton on the pitch has everything we need and more compared to the players we have in his current position, remember the Manu and Villa collapses, due in my opinion to not having a player with any ability to tackle and then carry the ball and pick the right pass. We have Neville and Carsley(not long for the knackers yard) but neither one of them has Barton’s ability to run at a defence, pass or shoot. Cahill is good but best suited behind the front 2 and Osman is just too lightweight , this leaves Arteta who is probably our best player and like Cahill should spend most of his time upfront. Fernandez at 12M? I’m not surprised Happy Harry at Pompey wasn’t interested (and neither should DM be at that price). He’s good flair player, but he won’t give us what Barton will and that’s basically some fight in the middle of the park with ability!

This club has built success on players like Alan Ball and Peter Reid, neither one of them liked to lose or was afraid to tell their team mates what they thought. What was it Alan Ball said in the 66 World Cup final when a team mates legs started to tire during extra time: “KEEP MOVING YOU BASTARD!”

Joey Barton wasn’t afraid to comment about the world cup crap we sent to Germany (and he was right, they were doing all sorts of commercial deals of that world cup and they were failures).

The reason for not bringing him to Goodison (or Kirby?), they can only be off the pitch reasons (5.5M for a player of his ability is peanuts by today’s money and he’s a blue), we all know what his half brother did, but can we paint him with same brush? He’s quick to use his fists some might say (well he’s not the only footballer (didn’t Risse and Bellamy have a non to friendly game of golf recently? Which didn’t stop them going all the way to the CL final) Shearer and Gillespie will tell you he’s not the only one after a night out in Belfast).

I think if he doesn’t come to the blues it’s because DM doesn’t want to take the chance of rocking the boat with the clubs black players or just plain political correctness? As far as I know, other than being released by EFC he’s only ever really had one club and I think he knows he’d be on last chance with us, it’s a pity because I think coming home and playing for us could stabilise him. RobbieBullens. (05/06/07)

Russian Gas

Gazprom the russian gas provider are preparing to invest heavily in uk. They already sponsor a football club in Germany and apparently are looking to buy a premiership club. Is it too much to ask that our club take a proactive stance and get in first. Yours hopefully John. (05/06/07)

The Waiting Game

The wait for Moyes to make his move in the transfer market is unbearable. Patience has never been one of my virtues. If he makes the same deals as last year we will be in position to make a play all over the place. This Everton team will be in my opinion back on the glory road. COYB. John Lea. (28/05/07)

Keep The Passion

Great site lads. Seriously, it's addictive and a pleasure to see the effort and dedication you boys put into this. Don't know what I'd do without it!!! I work in the IT industry 'building the best IT solutions in business'. Bollocks - the best IT solution in the land is Bluekipper!! I live amongst southern kopites that have never even seen analfield. None of them realise what it means to be a true supporter. It pisses me right off that all these plastic fans take the piss out of genuine supporters. They've not a clue about what passion is... Dan. (28/05/07)

Barton Worth The Risk

I try not to get drawn into newspaper articles when in comes to the trials and tribulations of footballers, but I've just finished reading an interesting piece on Joey Barton. The lads no angel, as was proved at our place this season. But from what I recall of that day he'd been given buckets of stick during the game about his half brother's 'situation'. I also remember that he was leaving the pitch when he ran over to the City supporters to hand over his shirt to a young lad in a wheelchair.

Anyway, the article went on to inform the reader that Joey has been receiving counselling for the last twenty months. He regularly visits schools and remand centre's to lecture the kids. Don't get me wrong, there's no doubting the lad is a scally, but reading on, the article went on to describe Joey as someone that wouldn't accept defeat. Hence the recent outburst at City's training ground, about which we haven't been given the full story yet. I don't know what will come of that incident, but didn't we all stand by one Duncan Ferguson no matter what he got up to. If it's in the name of the cause we don't condemn a man.

This reinforces my own opinion that we should try to sign him. The lad is a Blue. He wants to win. He's passionate about his game and won't stand by if his own players give half measures. Sounds good to me. If we're going to compete in Europe next season, I think he would be ideal player to strengthen the squad. I don't think the £5.5 million is big money in today's game to bring the lad to Goodison Park, bearing in mind his ability and his recent call up to the England squad.

Without being disrespectful to Man City, our current set up would offer Joey the stage to show what he can do. I think he and the midfielders we have available to us now would benefit from playing together. The lad will have his doubters, and rightly so considering his history, but I believe we should go for him. If it doesn't work out, we can't say we didn't try.

Enough said about that. Well done to the lads, Moyesy and the supporters for the season just gone. Let's hope we can reproduce the atmosphere that was whipped up during the second half against Pompey for games next season. Absolutely amazing. There is a fantastic pride in being Blue. Eddieparkend COYB. (28/05/07)

Please buy Manny!!!

Love the web site, it's the first and last page I check every day! Being in Ireland and being the only Everton fan for about 100 sq. miles means not only do I never get to go to Goodison, I can hardly even scrounge up a buddy to go watch the matches in a pub! So only saw the highlights of the last game, but I think Moyes has finally gotten how important the signing of Manny could be, if its at all possible. He's only played, what a handful of full games, and look at the impact he's had! I know he needs a bit of work, mainly in the work rate area, but he's young and that shouldn't be an issue. Better to have someone who needs to be moulded from a work rate point of view than yet another average player who just doesn't have the natural ability! I know it could be a lot of money and probably the bulk of our budget, but he would be well worth it for a number or reasons in my opinion. I guess it still remains to be seen how much money David will have to play with, and whether Benfica want make us bend over with the transfer fee, so it's clever tactics from Moyesy to be playing down Manny's contribution overall.

But looking at your poll it seems clear that the vast majority of Everton fans realise the value of a player like Manny - not just because he's mega skilful with bags of natural talent, but he's another young lad, already an U21 international, but critically its the important message it sends for the future of the club, as much as it is what the player himself is capable of; he can only get better in my opinion, and lets be realistic, he is a class above a lot of what we have right now. (Making an idiot out of Fabregas and that goal against Man U say it all) Along with Mikky and Tiny he could give us a genuinely classy and dangerous midfield, well capable of threatening any defense in the premiership (and Europe) - then all we need is a younger defensive mid a la Carsley and we're laughing!! Seeing as there's talk of an over inflated price for Nugent (£8 million!!!), and everyone else we're looking at seems to be average enough, it certainly seems to me that of all the players we could buy, if we made him our one big splurge this summer, he would definitely be worth it. Barton for me is too much of a gamble; as you pointed out he could ruin the great team spirit and camaraderie that Moyes has built up, and at £5.5m or more it's an expensive enough gamble too. We know Manny fits in and we know the fans love him already, that's worth a few extra million if u ask me! It looked as if another expensive striker buy was on the cards, but with the emergence of Vic and especially Vaughany, maybe we could buy a more reasonably priced striker and spend the main chunk on Manny?? It certainly bodes well for the future thou, Manny or no, and Moyesy has proven himself to be very shrewd in the transfer market, and this summer will hopefully be no different! Keep up all the great work with the website, Ger Johnson - youngest Everton fan in the south of Ireland!! (I'm 30, started supporting them in '83) Cork, Ireland. (21/05/07)

GENTLEMEN'S AGREEMENT MY ARSE!

Evertonians let us be under no delusions. Dodgy moves or duplicity took place prior to the recent Man U fixture. The day before the game dithering David was on the official club web-site extolling Richard Wright and giving the overall impression that he was going to play against Man U. Arriving at the ground we learn that Iain Turner is to play. Last week the league issue a statement to the effect that Everton and MAN U are cleared of any wrong doing regarding the fixture. How on earth could anyone believe the league after the West Ham lash up? Everton must come clean and issue a statement as to why Tim Howard did not play. They owe it to the fans. The result of games is decided ON the pitch and not in boardrooms. In all seriousness is there anyone within the structure of the club capable of telling the fans exactly why Tim did not play. Do MAN U control Everton? To compound the issue the same company that counted the votes in the recent elections in Scotland are going to count the votes over the new stadium. I challenge the club to retain what little credibility you have left to make a statement on this evocative issue. Jack Warner. Lifelong Evertonian. (21/05/07)

Well Played

A deserved well done to the team, a creditable result at Chelsea now we are back where we belong in Europe. If it hadn’t been for our gentleman’s agreement and the point we threw away against Spurs we could have been riding even higher. But let’s not dwell on the past let’s celebrate today, give the players the credit they deserve, hope Davie has learnt from his mistakes, buys early and well and that we hit the ground running next season. Congratulations to Wigan and Unsy. It’s lucky they didn’t have a gentleman’s agreement.. Badge Rhyl. (21/05/07)

Jermaine Jenas - No Thanks

A lot in the press down here that Jermaine Jenas may be coming to Everton possibly in a swap for James Beattie. Personally I would rather keep Beattie! Came up for the Portsmouth game. Despite the first half being less than impressive the second half more than made up for it. The crowd were absolutely fantastic. A very happy Blue. John. (21/05/07)

What A great day out at Chelsea

Truly proud again the team were the best and we all know we should have won the singing did not seem to stop the whole game and my voice is still croaky. What is it with Chelsea fans it was like a wake they are Runners up it was a joke And the ground was empty at the end of the game with hardly any Chelsea fans waiting for the lap of honour. Meanwhile the Everton Heroes were throwing their kits including Boots into the everton fans you'd think we had finished runners up. I seriously believe we are about 4 good players short of something very special happening around here brings tears to my eyes. Please buy some good utility players that we can put in for injuries and do a good job in the 80's we had Kevin Richardson who seemed to be able to play anywhere we needed him we need players like him now plus a new striker for Beattie (sorry but I tried to warn everyone please refer to earlier emails ) A defender and another midfielder plus the above should be enough to get us a chance of winning something. Regards Sean. (21/05/07)

Class and Crass

Sorry for the ranting, but some things get my goat. A few last things that are on my mind. Firstly, I never got to see Bally play. I am 30, and all I have is videos of him in the blue of Everton, and the White of England. I listened to the Tributes from the various on 5 live the morning after, and I was more than moved. Lawrie McMenname (sorry for the spelling) in particular. From the clips I have seen, an emense talent, and in today's market, priceless. God rest you Alan Ball. You made the Holy Trinity.

And lastly, Mr Rooney. I love football, and watch as much as I can (Misses and all that). I watched your debut for Everton, and for Man U. I remember thinking to myself when you scored that hatrick in the Champions league, he was one of ours. He came from the school of science, and he will go on to win many trophies and medals, have an illustrious career, and return to us. I was so proud, even though you were playing for the wrong team. Your action when you scored what turned out to be the winner against us were disgraceful. Don't forget where you come from boy!!! We made you what you are. Don't ever kiss the Manc badge at Goodison. You proclaimed once, that once a blue, always a blue, and despite your defection to further your career, in light of where you need to be to succeed these days, I for one believed you. Remember, you were our talent, you were our player. Either you still hold the club dear, or you don't. If you don't, f**k off, and don't ever come back. If you do, make it clear, and good luck to you. You should have remembered that that day was not about you. It was about a little red headed man, who in Everton terms you will never aspire to. Next ime, show some respect, like we all showed you. Mark Hyde. (21/05/07)

Iain Turner Top Keeper

I've been living in Sheffield since 89 and have married a Sheffield Girl. I get to the match when I can hope SUFC stay up so I can watch the Blues v them. Wife and Daughter have a season ticket for Sheff Wed. Don't ask it's along story. Anyway I have been to see them a few times this season and Turner has played a blinder I saw him play his last game v Coventry them went to the Everton Manure game and saw him drop that ball for the first goal. I am made up Everton have given a new deal because one bad mistake doesn't make him a bad keeper. Passport ready happy. Evertonian in Yorkshire puddin land. (21/01/07)

Can't Wait For Europe

Great second half performance by the lads against Portsmouth. Sat in Upper Bullens above da Pompey fans. Great atmosphere. Can't wait 4 next season. Got my season ticket for upper Gwladys street and ready to watch the mighty blues take on Europe. COYB. TOM. (21/05/07)

UEFA Cup

I got home Saturday night and started singing to my bird about going on a European tour and there is nothing she can do about it! Showing tremendous optimism I thought I will find out where the final is going to be as well and will I get a jolly boys weeks holiday out of it. In 40 years of following Everton I have been used to many disappointments so was not totally surprised when I found out that next years final is at Man Fucking City! Evertonians are damned. RIP Billy B. SM. Park End. (21/05/07)

Joey Barton

He's once again made enemies at City so who knows. I for one realise the attitude problems he has had, but if and when he gets his head down you will get an even better player than he has proved he is already. He's also most importantly a blue and that's worth at least another 10% on the pitch (unless your Rooney). Blueboybrian. (21/05/07)

Sorry For Being A Tit

I wondered if you could issue an apology for me on your site... I'm a season ticket holder in the Lower Gwladys and there has been this gorgeous girl sitting 4 rows in front of me all season. I finally bucked up the courage to even speak to her at the end of the Portsmouth game only to make a complete tit of myself....

She is a very nice girl (whose name I don't even friggin know!) and if she reads this I'd like to apologise sincerely. If I stood any chance with you then I know it went around 17:15 that night. If you do want to get in touch btw, email me via Kipper!! :-) Cheers chaps! - True Blue with less luck with women than Joey Barton at a Keeping Calm Conference. (I attach my pic just in case) James Cannon. (18/05/07)

Moyes New Signings And The Dead Wood

Well, a lot has happened to me in a year. I have a new job, and a new baby boy, who is a blue already, whether he likes it or not (will post a pic when I fix my bloody camera). :o). I said back at the start of the season that we needed to strengthen if we wanted to get into Europe. We then brought in Howard, AJ and Roger, who lets be honest, have done us proud. OK, we let Simple go (as a fellow Welshman, sad, but it had to be done), Killa (great servant) and Doddie Davie (who deserves any blues respect for the commitment he put into our club). We got Manny (please stay), and our side, despite the injury to Tiny, and against all all odds (f**k the nay sayers), have all but (despite a big freak on Sunday) got us into Europe where we belong.

But I stick to my original point. We need to get rid of the remaining dead wood. Wright looks like he is off, and Nace needs to follow. Alice Pistone
also need to go. We then need Euro Quality. Again, players like Anthony Vanden Borre of Anderlect and the Czech Thomas Sivok are proven, if young, quality. Also, the boy Wigan let go, Kristoffer Haestad is better than he showed in a sh*t team (and free). Bring in David 'Nudge' Nugent, Joey Barton, and maybe David 'If I ain't wearing green, I ain't gonn score' Healy as backup, and we are starting to resemble a squad. One or two
more, and we are done. My one and only apology goes to the last player I said should be sold, Harry Hill. Mr Carsley, you have been immense, and the fact that the last 2 full season you have played we have qualified for Europe, is testament alone to how good you really are. Europe will see next year what a real grass roots footballer is all about, as all are swept aside on our way to the UEFA cup. No one put's there self on the line like you do (Stubbsy apart), for any team, and I for one love ya.

And for all the pessimists about Davie Moyes, look at what he has done for this club!!! For years we fought relegation (remember the 1-1 draw with coventry on the last day of the season to stay up, or 3-2 v Wimbledon), and now we are a top 6 club, regular. Last season was hard with the size of our squad, and our inexperience. Going out of the Champions League (thanks Mr Collina, pr**k, hope Opel/Vauxhall paid you well), and then being battered in the UEFA (like nobody saw that coming, we were cheated in that draw, finishing 4th f***ed us!!!), would destroy any teams confidence. But we rallyed, and finished 11th (not like theses one season wonders, Ipswich, Wigan, West Ham), and that was down to Davie. One time he goes negative (albeit against Spurs who I hate), and people are calling for his head. Get off his back, and let the best Manager we have seen since Kendall get on with it. If there wasn't so much money in the top 4, we would have won the title under Davie. If you want to complain so much, give me your f*****g season tick, and I will roar on the best team in the land.

Next season UEFA and League cups, then major investment and new ground (Goodison to be turned into a patriotic shrine, as you can't tear it down, not like the shed across the park), and then we will be challenging for the title, with the Ginger Ninja at the Helm. Live a Blue, Die a Blue. Mark Hyde. (15/05/07)

Fernandes

He may cost us a fortune, but the potential of this lad is very evident. The board should look to invest in Manny because in a few years he'll be worth double the price; Benfica know this and they've played their hand well by securing him to a long contract. I wish the powers at Everton would look at the long term for a refreshing change; the blinkered look has damaged Everton Football Club in the past lets learn from our mistakes....Dean Ashton worth well over £10m - we baulked at £1.5m; Scott Parker £3 to 4m was considered too much - now worth double that; Darren Bent offered to us by Joe Royle when he managed Ipswich for a few million - I think you get my point. Mikel. (15/05/07)

Summer Break

A few points before we sign off for a well earned Summer break Firstly, what an absolutely amazing atmosphere at Goodison last Saturday against Portsmouth (only just recovered) and a well deserved win. Secondly, well done for picking up a point at Chelski on Sunday. Thirdly, now we're back in Europe, let's make sure we're properly equipped to be challenging on all fronts next season. No need to go nuts like Leeds did, see where it got them. Well done to Moyesy and the boys!!!! Eddieparkend COYB. (15/05/07)

European ambitions

As we have qualified for europe, what is the chances that we will be given significant amount of cash to strengthen the squad. The players I'd like to see next season, a new left back so Lescott can go back to the centre with Yobo a back up centre back as Yobo is going to the African Nations Cup. Fernandes either permanent or on another years loan. Beattie to be sold and Nugent to be brought in. One or two Bosman signings and finally Barton or Nolan now that big Sam has left. Mohammed. (15/04/07)

Tim Howard & the Man Utd Game

Is there anybody else who is as puzzled about this whole episode as me? The FAPL have cleared both us and Utd of any wrong doing and confirmed that there were no clauses in Tim's permanent deal preventing him from playing against Utd. If that is the case then why was he dropped for the match? Surely we didn't deliberately weaken our team before one of our biggest games of the season.........or did we??

All we hear is 'gentlemans agreement' what the fuck is all that about??? Is someone seriously saying we agreed to drop him and replace him with a rookie???!! No disrespect to Turner, he will be a great keeper but he's no Howard. Would the same have happened if it was the other way round? The hell it would!!

Once again the silence coming out of Goodison is deafening. If Tim was deliberately dropped then heads must roll over this, what if that defeat had cost us a European spot would Utd have given us the money???

This whole thing stinks as being underhand and I think the fans deserve a full explanation of what was behind the decisions made, anyone else feel the same way about this?? Martyn (Colchester). (15/05/07)

Grounghog Day

And so it begins again, God help us. Yes, here we are, Groundhog Day. Another occasion when the redshite progress in a cup competition by not winning a game over 2 legs which, I suppose, is now their trademark. They’re in the CL final by virtue of not beating Barcelona and not beating Chelsea – again. How the fuck do they get that sort of luck, can anybody explain it? It’s probably easier to explain the meaning of life to a simple minded halfwit (aka Craig Bellamy). But even worse in my opinion is the absolutely sickening way that this sycophantic media fawns all over them,

Let’s start with the red Echo. OK, it’s the local paper so you’d expect coverage on the sports pages, but this is the Echo we’re talking about after all. I ended up launching the thing out of the window on Monday because it was wall to fucking wall stuff about the redshite and Athens – fuck me some retard even got a poem published about that twat from Huyton who captains them, you know, the guy who almost crippled Naysmith. They got big mentions on the front page, page 3, the page 10 editorial (“Fly the flag lads” – yeah, fuck off), page 12, page 18, page 20 – well, you get the picture. And while I’m at it about the Echo, have you noticed how often they refer to the fat Spanish waiter (let’s call him FSW) as “Rafa” yet our man is always “Moyes” and never “Davie”? No bias there then. (By the way, isn't the FSW known as the master tactician by the media? Could he be that same 'master tactician' who played Harry Kewell from the off against Milan, and was so fucked up at half time that he nearly sent out 12 players for the second half cos his head was up his arse?) This is also the paper who apologised to Juventus fans a couple of years ago on behalf of the city of Liverpool. Oh really? What did we Bluenoses have to apologise for then, nobody's ever explained that to me.

Every other paper can’t wait to suck up to the bastards, too. For example they can’t wait to slag us off over the Tim Howard transfer and suggest some untoward shenanigans, but it’s OK for the FSW to field a reserve team against Fulham which affected the relegation issue big time. Why isn’t Dave Whelan suing them like he’s trying to sue West Ham?

The radio does it too. I listen mostly to Talksport, but I swear to God that within 5 minutes of tuning in each morning Alan Brazil is talking about the shite for some reason. Try it one weekday morning – put the station on and see how long it takes before the conversation gets around to them. To add insult to injury, they’re even playing that fuck up unmentionable kopite song every morning too.

You know, anytime you have any opinion about the redshite they call you a Bitter Blue. What’s that about? The stuff I’ve mentioned so far hasn’t been made up or twisted, the facts are there to support it. No, usually bitterness comes from a perception of being a victim, and who are course and distance winners when it comes to casting themselves as the victims? Yes, good guess, the redshite of course!

Only this week the red Echo carries daily stories – usually on the front page – regarding how badly done to they’ve been over tickets for the final. Well, didn’t they know when the thing started last August how UEFA allocates final tickets? Or do they think, as before, they can moan and whine and get what they want like they normally do? And would they have thought the allocation process a fiasco had Chelsea gone through? No, of course not, it’s only when it doesn’t suit them. Earlier I referred to the Echo’s apology to Juve fans over Heysel, but if you recall, many Juve fans turned their backs to the shite fans before the game and you may also recall how the shite again became the ‘victims’. How could those Italian twats turns their backs on ‘the greatest fans in the world’! I swear to God that a guy I used to work with is adamant that had the Juve fans not run away at Heysel then nothing would have happened. Mass suicide, perhaps? But it’s us who are Bitter Blues, apparently.

You may have gathered that I’ve had a complete gutful of how the shite are perceived in the media, and I haven’t even mentioned the telly. But I’ll just give you this comparison: on the day of the Man U game when we paid tribute to the incomparable Alan Ball, I understand that Sky had Andy Gray (of all fucking people) with his daft toys talking over the crowd chanting Bally’s name, and explaining his views on how the sides would line up. No respect there. When the shite plated Chelsea, the cameras stayed on the crowd for the whole of THAT fucking song before the game, and not a word was spoken. Draw your own conclusions. Why do we have to have them rammed down our throat the way we do?

But despite the fact that the media cream over FSW and his shite, cast your mind back to after the Portsmouth game when nearly 40,000 Evertonians cheered the lads until we were hoarse. Now THAT is support, and support at its best. The sad truth is that since 1987 we’ve only won the FA Cup and spent far too much time down the division, but how many clubs can command that sort of affection and support? The redshite ‘fans’ would have deserted in droves as they changed their allegiances to Chelsea the same way that they changed from Stavanger or Essex Town to the shite in the first place.

Of course, we’re all thinking the same thing come Athens – the Doomsday scenario again, and God only knows how far the media will go then. But even though I’m ranting on about it I have to remember that:

* We gave them their ground (our second one in fact);

* They’re now going to move to our first ground, Stanley Park;

* They wanted to be called Everton Athletic originally, but the council (or whatever they were in those days) wouldn’t let them;

* They used to wear blue and white;

* Our original badge was the Liver bird (cos we were the only side in town of course);

* They took our song, We Shall Not Be Moved (can you believe it? Imagine us singing any shit of theirs!!)

* They are an alehouse team who just got lucky.

I wonder how much of that the media is aware of? That’s all part of our rich tradition that goes back to 1878 – theirs started when Shankley came in 1958 or whenever. So they can and will fawn over the red twats as much as they like, but always remember – WE were born Evertonians and have therefore won first prize in the lottery of life. COME ON YOU BLUES! A Proper Football Club

Think the website is fantastic. The Portsmouth game was fantastic. The supporters were brilliant. Everton is, as David Moyes said, a proper football club. We are building a team. Things are moving forward all the time.

True Allegiance

Why did Neville call Ferguson boss at the end of the match? This isn't the first time our captain has shown who His true allegiance is to, a couple of weeks ago He was commenting a the Man Utd game when He referred to United as "We" Richard Keys had to correct Him on this slip up. It's not the first time He's put in a poor performance against Utd either He just seems under perform against Utd. i guarantee He'll but putting Himself about against Chelsea. Sorry Phil we don't need shithouse's at our club we want player's who want to play for us not players who only want play when it suits. Saturdays match show Me and several others around Me that His commitment is towards Utd not Everton when he gifted them there 2nd, it not only cheapens the memory of Alan Ball it's a slap in the face of Him. Were all sick of hearing the bullshit of "we'll do better next time" or "we need the fan's to play there part" well am sorry Phil but we fan's need players that want to play 100% for Everton not players that are helping there Brothers team clinch the title. Get rid and bring in players who want to be apart of our team. Kingy. (15/05/07)
