Voting for Faddy Our Tata and Moyesy

Fantastic work on the voting links boys. As a non sky person I wouldn't have even thought about these votes but seeing them on Bluekipper is genius and shows just how much Evertonians look at your site and act on it. Brilliant lads - well done. Moyesy currently way ahead with 74%!!!

Goodison Dissertation

Can I heartedly congratulate Joel Grates on his extensive and well-thought-out dissertation on the move away from Goodison Park. Regardless of whether you support the move away from Goodison Park or not, or whether you agree with everything in the report, hopefully you’ll agree that it is an excellent contribution to the debate. I’d also like to congratulate Blue Kipper for deciding to publish it as a whole. This inclusive approach to what could be a key moment in the history of our great club is crucial and I would like to think that the board will continue to use your site to get a feel for what the ‘real fans’ are thinking. I think the discussion on whether we could consistently fill a 60,000+ stadium, and especially if we relocate away from the Goodison Park area, needs careful thought, as I imagine the various business case studies may well be taking for granted such levels of seat occupancy if we get a mediocre season, as well as potentially over-estimating corporate hospitality profits. Any way, that’s another debate – in the meantime, well done Joel and Blue Kipper! COYB. Paddock Boy. (15/06/07)

Everton Are Skint

I know everyone hears gossip from time to time but please believe me when I pass this information as it is 100% true. The reason we have not signed Jagielka is that ONCE AGAIN the club is skint. We are trying to pay the £4million in installments. Since bill kenwright has been chairman he has spent £8million in net spending less than £3 million per season, not good enough in my opinion. We now find ourselves in a good position to progress the club and attempt to go on to the next stage. Unless David is given funds to do so we will find ourselves standing still we need to get new people in to our club to move on. Wyness told a meeting of supporters "if you know of a buyer let me know" considering the wages he takes from the club he should be actively seeking investment not snidely asking fans to do his job. I repeat until we have new owners we will not progress, a fact that makes me sick as we all know that we are close to catching that crowd from over the park. Yours. John G. (15/06/07)

Masters at Coventry

Being a Midland blue I took the opportunity to pop & see some of our ex-players in the Masters at Coventry last saturday. As always big Nev was there as well as Alan Harper, Jigsaw and a hero of mine (don't really know why) from the early 80's Joe McBride. The day however was ruined, apart from being amongst a load of redshites (COME ON LEICESTER), by the appearance of big Brett. Now I thought he was shit when he played for us under grey haired Mike but, fuck me! Why oh why did he play? I know it's not that serious but everybody around us were taking the piss and who can blame them. Surely if we'd have put the word out we could have roped in Mick Lyons; Bob Latchford, Ray Atteveld,Terry Darracott etc but Brett!!

I can honestly say i've seen 50 year old beer bellyed blokes in our local sunday league with better, touch, speed, passing ability and positional sense than him after 20 pints and a vindaloo the night before. How the fuck did he make a living out of football. it really fucked me off. As i said before I know it's not that serious but i also thought any match against the shite we wanted to win at all costs. So what was our manager doing after seeing two completely inept performances by big Brett playing him for 3/4 of the game against the shite. In the end i've got to admit i was laughing at the cunt with the redshites.

It's the first time i've been wound up enough to e-mail kipper after viewing the site for years but if you've any influence at all please, please persuade the twat that picked him never to pick that fat, slow, big useless wanker again. ps sorry for the strong language but !! Midland Blue Rob. (15/06/07)

Make Your Minds Up

My beef is the time it takes us to make up our minds ! We could have had Koumas from Tranmere for buttons and probably Nugent too from PNE some seasons ago. We wait until they are pricey before we decide to buy....sometime ago we could have had Trundle on a free from Wrexham, but again we wait until he is too old and too costly at his age. We released Jagielka...and now we are supposed to be buying him back ????
The mind boggles. It seems our scouting system is blindfolded. I could see that Koumas was a great prospect at Tranmere so why couldn't a pro scout. We bought Beattie from Soton when he could not get a regular game there. Where was the sense in that? Soton were a poor team and Beattie was bench warming there ????? Wigan without money unearthed Bullock and Chimbonda for next to nothing. With our small amount of transfer money we must get a decent set of scouts to find us a few bargains. Lets face it the team needs quite a bit of strengthening to make any consistent impact in Europe and the premier. I am not happy with the right back position and Neville has already peaked and started to slide.
I don't think Osman is strong enough for a full season in the premier and although Carsley had his best ever season for us, he does lack pace. TREVLYNES. (15/06/07)

Big Name Signings Means Big Money

Have to say I'm a bit worried about this summers transfer activity. Manuel Fernandes proved that he adds a lot to our team, he helped push us on to qualify for Europe, much like Arteta did when he arrived on loan in our 4th place season a couple of years back. The board said they will back Moyes all the way like they did last summer by breaking the transfer record for Johnson. There may be a big fee on fernandes' head but we need to make big signings like this if we are to push on forward. Moyes has worked wonders since he arrived and the team is looking in good shape, but we've gotta keep moving forward, Fernandes is class and would give us the best midfield we've had for years. Also if we could land Riquelme imagine that midfield...Arteta Cahill Fernandes Riquelme...coudn't think of many better midfields in Europe, and surely we could have a realistic chance of getting the uefa cup. Instead it looks like were gonna sign players like Jagielka, Zenden, Scharner and Koumas...painfully average. Also I saw on sky sports that Fernandes will start next season on loan at portsmouth...do we really wanna slip behind sides like Pompey and West Ham? Come on board show moyes the money. Steve-o. The Echo

Anyone else been surprised at the level of support the local rag has given the shite supporters' in their quest to blame UEFA for everything that
happened in Athens? Their true colour has shone through; fucked if I'm buying that thing ever again!!!!!!!! Mikel. (15/06/07)

Bargin Basement

Here we go again, linked with bargain basement crap in the way of Jason Roberts. We've got an Evertonian who wants to play for Everton but Moyes does not think he can play with AJ. What a load of crap; Everton are going for bargain basement when they could sign a cracking prospect in Nugent. PS bugger off Kenwright.Neil Brimage. (15/06/07)

Z-Cars

Does anyone know where to get that Vinny O'Connor clip of his phone going off with Z- cars while interviewing benitez? I missed it and sounds hilarious, what a legend! Simon Barry. (15/06/07)

Dixie Dean

Have just read Ian McDonald's excellent write up on Dixie. I was reminded of him because of the death of Alan Ball and the news broadcast showed the statue of Dixie outside the stadium. Your article was written with great passion but humour as well. By the way I'm from Wolverhampton so the Wolves hold the same feelings for me be it mainly the 50's and 60's.

In the 50,s we had a great header of the ball called Springthorpe and the joke that went around at the time was when he was in court accused of making this girl pregnant which he had denied,so the girl who was holding the baby in the dock told the judge she could prove it where upon she pull out a breast and the baby immediately nodded. Perhaps this isn't funny in print as it needs a good nod of the head at the end. Best Regards. John. (15/06/07)

Riquelme For Everton

I heard the Riquelme story on a recent visit to the states, apparently his agent has contacted several Premier league clubs and Roman himself spoke very highly of Everton when he played against us. He is also a fan of Moyes, having said all that this may well alert Taggart and he may prefer Manure, lets see. Cheers chaps. Great site. Keep up the good work. Creevy. (09/06/07)

The Big Youth Academy Debate

This point is one that's wracked my brains for years. I think you will agree it's an interesting and current topic (given Owen after the England Match). Id love you to open it up for a discussion on the Kipper site to get some views. Who knows, we may even get some views from parents who made the decisions ? ? ?

There is no doubt that Everton has produced some gifted youngsters in the past. Rooney, Ball, Anichebe, Vaughan, Hibbo etc... and long may this continue. But watching Michael Owen after the England Match harp on about Supporting Everton and idolising Linker got me thinking about our Youth policy. We look across the park to find an shedfull of not just gifted, but to be fair brilliant footballers who have climbed the ranks in the Reds academy, and who were all / are Evertonians

We all know who they are, they are plentiful, and all no doubt idolised the blues as kids. A question comes into my mind every now and then on this very subject. "Why didn't they come and play for their beloved blues instead" It must have been a huge wrench to pull on a red shirt for some of these youngsters who had stood and cheered in the Street End. And there is no doubt that their Evertonian Supporting Fathers made the decision for them based on what I can only assume was hard thought rational reasons

Well I for one think that for them to choose their biggest adversaries there must have been big reasons.

Was their Academy so much better than ours? Was there more chance of making it at theirs? Were the facilities better? Were there scouts more astute, plentiful, encouraging and convincing? Were the given a warmer welcome?

Or

Was our set up so piss poor as to Drive some real potential away? Did / Do we have some arrogant and rude staff that thought it should "just be good enough to be at the academy" Was there a lack of real quality Scouts?

Well I know what I believe, as I had a relative at The Everton Academy I can still remember taking them from time to time and raising an eyebrow or two at things I heard said (or shouted) to parents of academy players This was circa early to mid 90s, so its a relevant time period for the Owens, Fowlers, etc. So I put the blame firmly at our own door.

Given the size of the business that is Football, and the cold stark realisation that over the park has played about 100 million + worth of Everton supporting academy prodigies, I would hope that Everton must at some stage have asked themselves this very question, and then gone on to actively and fervently investigate these reasons. After all, last time I checked, a lot of the same academy staff were still the same people as they were back then !!!!!

If anyone has ever spoken to Ratcliffe about the Welsh team, one of the first things he will tell you is how "MAD" a blue Ian Rush is. When he won player of the year, he said to Rats "It would have been so much better if I'd won it in Blue" Ask him if you get a chance. Any thoughts fellow Blues ? ? ? NSNO. Blueboybrian

Worried

Is it just me or is anyone else getting a bit worried about all the transfer activity going on and we ain't involved? Especially when we have those scummy b##tards West Ham sniffing around us for players. Who the f##k do they think they are? This may be impatient, but I don't care. Mark Warren. (09/06/07)

Championship Stars Came Good

In reply to us getting star names and spending millions, can I just remind everyone where we got Cahill, Johnson and Lescott from. Yes it was the championship. Fair enough Johnson had one years prem experience but Cahill and Lescott didn’t. I have faith in Moyes and I'm sure he will make the signings our club needs. Chris Chadwick. (09/06/07)

School Days

Is it just me, or was the team Dean played for run by Daniel Craig, Kenny Dalglish, Judge Doom out of Who Framed Roger Rabbit? and Hitler's Dad? Dave Whitehill. (09/06/07)

All gone a bit quiet?

At the end of last season it seemed that David Moyes had identified his targets to buy and then went and got them. Done and dusted !
I have a feeling that we should have bought Joey Barton. Although clearly a whole heap of trouble we may need somebody in the midfield that does not take any crap. None of the current midfield are what I would call "Scrappers" and that may be what we need if we are to repeat last seasons league position. If not better ! Please do not take this as any form of criticism re : the manager. He appears to have got a very decent squad together but does need Fernandes and A.N.other to give us a few different options. A blissfully happy Blue. John. (09/06/07)
