Back Moyes

I have refrained from putting my six penneth in for ages but I need to get some things off my chest... Firstly signings, I firmly believe that mr. moyes has ALL ideas as to what he wants and who he wants at our club. As brought up by dad and lad (emails 255) , David Nugent would have sat it out for a bit longer had he not had his interests elsewhere (his and his agents wallets). I do however think he would have been a great signing for us but not for that much. Moyesy had his fingers burned once before with Biffa ( nothing against him at all, he's just shite, bless him ) and why would he want to spend money on what, with the exception possibly of richardson, are nothing players. We have signed tiny and mikkey for five more years, surly that warrants for something. Jags, I think, is the most versatile player we have been linked with all summer and we have signed him, Pienaar from what I have heard is tasty and also we should have Vogel by the end of next week, them along with young Lars Stubhaug and Lukas jutkiewicz and suddenly the list don't look too bad. As for the manny debate, I don't get it, Yes he is class but only when it suits him, too lazy and far too expensive for the team that Moyesy has put together. They play for each other and we know that we must have the best team spirit in the whole league. No prima donnas (think back to the problems we had when a young Mr rooney was with us, cocky twat)

Secondly, Davy Moyes, For christ sake, he is the best f*ckin manager we have had since Howard Kendall. I just cannot understand where some
of you lot get your bloody thinking from. One of you name me one person who given the funding he has had, no forget about the funding, give me one person who would have come to us and performed miracles the way he has. Howard Kendall created a team that again wasn't full of prima donnas, just hard working lads, and made a team of champions, and although we may never win the damn premier league without massive funding, we have a team to be damn proud of!! well I am anyway, and it is all down to Moyesy and his staff.

Thirdly, the board, jeezus, two ways i look at this, there is no way that we haven't been approached by major investors, no way at all. When
you look at the clubs being bought by people recently I find it impossible to believe that noone has made enquiries about us. So why? Is it like people on here have said, because Blue bill wants to keep us because its his 'toy' or does anyone think that we have slowly been bringing down the debt and running the club correctly and not selling out for quick glory because Blue Bill would not let anything happen to our club in the way that Ridsdale did with leeds. I hope that the shit hits the fan for someone soon because these yank investors will want their money back, they aren't as daft with their cash as abramovich is, that's for sure. I think it works out that if manure don't qualify for the champions league for ONE season, then they are financially screwed because their interest payments on the loan by the 'ewings' alone rely on income from the champions league and total in the region of £50m a year. Imagine that much pressure on a club like us! I must add that I sincerely hope I am right about Blue Bill and co and that the board aren't screwing us for their own gain!! Martin Brown. (03/08/07)

Baines

Just pay the f'in money for ...........he a long term prospect player, who will fit in well. Mal. (03/08/07)

Everton Shirt From 1970's

I am looking for a 1970's shirt. the one with the umbro triangles down the sleeve. I have visited replica shirt sites but although they advertise the shirt from that era, it does not have the umbro motif down the sleeves. Can anyone help? Thanks. Steve. Alan Ball Memorial Cup

As a southern toffee I took the chance to go to the Alan Ball Cup with my family so I thought you may be interested to know what you missed.

I was surprised;
1, by the poor organisation by MK Dons or whoever organised it... the PA/on pitch entertainment etc. was very, very poor... and thus the atmosphere was low with the exception of the odd 'Mexican wave'
2, the lack of Evertonian presence
OK a few ex-players showed up... one of my heroes BIG Nev did well (particularly for a guy with such a large frame), who else..? erm... Kevin Campbell, oh, and Peter Reid as manager...

The main game was entertaining and competitive however my opinion is that this was hardly a fitting tribute to who was a footballing icon... my first pair of boots were white... and that was 30-odd years ago when you made your own replica kit by sewing a badge onto a blue shirt... Simon Griffin. (03/08/07)

Biffa

I'm in shock, Everton managed to find someone stupid enough to offer 4 million for Biffa. Please accept the offer, please get rid of this waste of money. To all the fools who say Biffa will come good, how many chances have we give him, he couldnt score a goal if he was standing on the goal line. Cut your losses, 50 percent of what we paid is better than keeping him on the bench for another season. Not good enough for the first team, not good enough for the reserves, doubt he will be any good at Sheffield United but at least he wont be wasting Everton's time or money. Come on Robson put us "True Evertonians" out of our misery. Blue since 66. (03/08/07)

Everton's shortage of strikers

With Everton's shortage of strikers!!! why the hell don't we go for owen? His leaving clause is up. He wants to leave and join a new club?! what is going on? Lets not miss out on another great player ! Moyes needs to get a grip and get the sighnings completed like Leighton Baines and owen, and even try for downing or Sean Wright Phillips all great players who a great club like Everton should be trying to sign if we want to do
anything. Stay in UeFa and push foward. Stadium is good idea but atm think Moyes should be focusing on our small SMALL squad! MR S A B Murphy

Back Moyesy With Cash

Having just read Terry Coopers article I really do think he needs a reality check. I agree that we are probably not going to get anyone better than DM. However, each time we get to a position where can can kick on the club, including DM as the team manager, refuse to recognise the opportunity. It is fine DM saying after the loss in the US that this was a wake up call for the team. Perhaps is was a bigger wake up call for him! I am genuinely concerned that his lack of activity will mean punishment for the blues at a time when we have got 5 or 6 very useful players. Paul. (03/08/07)

Laughing Stock

Sunderland offer £6m for Baines - Everton offer £4m + squad player; Sunderland & Portsmouth offer £6m for Nugent - Everton offer £3.5m; Wigan Athletic (yes Wigan Athletic I've said this before) offer £5.5m for Koumas - Everton offer £3.5m. All three of these players' either wanted or want to play for Everton; their commitment wouldn't have been in question. The Everton board offer derisory sums of money for quality players' in a climate that has the Premiership as the most coveted place to be. It makes me wonder why Cahill; Arteta and Co signed new contracts!?

FAO: Our Chairman. Bill, (can I call you Bill?) something for you to ponder: you'd get £20m+ for Cahill and Atreta and Andy Johnson would net a good £12m+; Lescott could be shipped off to Spain for about €20m (£14m) and Yobo; Howard; Vaughan and Victor could toddle of to a London suitor for around £6-8m each. Bill, there's over £70m worth of talent ready and available there; more than double what the club paid. The supporters' could have another relegation battle to look forward to and Moyesy could finally fuck-off to Glasgow - I believe Glenn Roeder's looking for work! Think about it Bill - money in the bank!

Moyesy more often than not, makes a player a better footballer and a target for richer clubs - this penny pinching has got to stop! I honestly believe that the only professional aspect about Everton Football Club are its supporters'; and boy do you shit on the ones' who love you most! Mikel. (03/08/07)

PIENAAR OR PNR?

I am an ex-pat bluenose working for London Underground (see yaz at ShiteHart Lane!) Here on the tube, when you go for an Eartha Kitt or Tom Tit, it’s known as a PNR - or Physical Needs Relief. Hope this isn't a bad omen for the new boy. Gary Nuttall. (27/07/07)

Biffa Will Come Good

Hiya lads this is the first time I’ve mail you so just want to say cracking site I log on every day to see what’s happing with the best team in the world. Keep it up lads. This is just to say I agree with Raymond Liderth, biffa will come good all we’ve got to do is get behind him. We need to get someone with pace to burn and likes to get balls into the area for biffa to get his head on. That’s why I agree lets blow the load and get s.w.p he’s a proven premiership player even if we got him on loan for the time being. Anyway I’m off keep it up lads top site. Dominic Atherton. Goodison Park - The Football Ground In Liverpool

I saw something on SKy Sports news last night that made me laugh and others will find funny I'm sure. Chisnall was the last player to transfer from Manure to the RS and he was being interviewed cos of the Heinze malarkey going on. Anyway he says he got the train to Lime street from Manchester as he didn't have a car back then. So he gets off the train and goes to the rank to get a taxi. Gets in and asks to be taken to "the football ground". So where does the driver take him? That's right the only real football ground in Liverpool, a little place on Goodison Road. Chisnall goes on to say that when he finally arrived late to meet up with Bill Shankly he asked him where he'd been and when he told him he wasn't best pleased. Love that story... Danny - Blue in Exile (London). (27/07/07)

Dixie Wins The Vote

It compels me ...fuckin makes my heart beat like shite. when I first e-mailed. Wednesday our boy Dixie was second from last ...now he is first. We are EVERTON THE PEOPLES CLUB. Anyone else ...well just don't matter. Cheers lads. James McMahon. (27/07/07)

The Everton Shop

Has anyone from Bluekipper who is over 16 stone gone to the toffee shop and tried to buy a sports shirt not a club shirt, they have no chance, They only had two types both in the sale, the largest size was a medium, We must be losing Millions each year in lost sales, Not everyone wants a team shirt The Redshite store is chock a block with different types of shirts as must be Manure, judging by the number you see on men's backs,
Whoever is in charge of stock should be on the dole and make room for someone who knows what the People of the Peoples Club want. I was told its the end of the season there's no call for them what a load of Bollocks, I wanted some for my hols Get our name shown round Europe before we get there, It's easily seen our over large boss has not wanted one or the C E O. Les Mack from Skem. (27/07/07)
Ed: All the lads are 6' tall and have a 32" waist. They have no problem, Les!

No Confidence In The Board

In my opinion there is (worryingly)a few Bluenoses who still think “Blue Bill” (bollocks) and his deputy have got the best interests of our beloved club at heart. If you believe the hype that these two Laurel and Hardy wannabees have been coming out with over the last few months that they have been working 8 days a week 25 hours a day to come up with investment and a way to move us forward. You’ll believe in “fairies at the bottom of the garden” “Father Xmas” “little green men from Mars” and the fact that we can be come a major force in European soccer with these two no-marks in charge if you believe that crap. Its outrageous that Fat Bully has got the gaul to issue a take it or leave it scenario to the fans applying pressure that in 10 years time the Old Lady might not get a safety certificate and it’ll be our fault for not going along with his railroading attempt to push us out of the City. But hey hang on did’nt fatso also say that no matter what the outcome of the “ballot” (another fuckin sham) the club or rather him and his dozy lovee mate make the final decision Bearing in mind the massive world wide support for our club. Why should these two wide boys be the ones holding the ultimate destiny of our great club in their grubby little mits. On a personal note as I’ve mentioned before I have two sons and get to at least 12 home games a season (which can be verified by Everton’s computer records detailing my address) as well as a few away games with mates plus purchasing merchandise. That’s nearly £1000 a season alone on home games before anything else but I’m not entitled to vote. (but I only been a fan for 40 years so I suppose that does’nt count). Wyness has got no idea about our history and tradition you have got to have lived and breathed and experienced it to understand it that’s why I despise him so much and shame on Kenwright for not putting him right. He should stand up for what the majority of Evertonians want and genuinely canvass opinion over a period of witnessed public meetings and act accordingly. Hats off to the Keep Everton in the City campaign. The blatant disreguard for the fans feelings was again demonstrated by the cancellation of your pre-arranged meeting with our caring chairmen this week.

I work with a lad who is Koumas’s best mate. They were at Tranmere together. My mate went into the Welsh league while Koumas’s career has gone onward and upward. Everton tried to hi-jack his Wigan move at the 11th hour by offering less terms than Wigan offered him (no surprise there then) which he accepted cos he wanted to be blue and a fee of £2.2Mil plus Mc Fadden in part ex. Which WBA accepted. (happy days all round eh) Then the cheapskate bastards asked could they pay the £2.2ml in installments cos they could’nt afford it all at once. What the fuck is goin on?? As I said I defy the club to deny this never happened either personally to me or in print. Nice one Blues Jimmy Mc now knows Ging does’nt really fancy him and is willing to offload him great confidence booster just before the season starts. And we a laughing stock in the transfer market once again ( we should be sponsored by OXO). As I said to quote “Jerry McGuire” “Show me the money” Fuck me Blues show me any of the money. Chris B (the original Wirral Blue)

More frustration

So now even Alan Stubbs pleads with the EFC board to support DM and give him some proper money to strengthen our threadbare squad. The board expect us to take part seriously in the proposed ground move but what is the point of having a nice new stadium if the team doesn't match it. Investment must be in the team BEFORE the ground move gets support from the fans. After all we all go to watch the football team play and we expect to watch a side brimming with ambition and expectancy. What difference does it make where we play so long as our team is first rate....that is the real crux, otherwise we might end up with a lovely stadium with less support than we get now. Every team in the premier has made moves to make their team better....all except us !! Please, please, please invest in our team as the first priority. Ever a blue. (27/07/07)

Racism at Friendly Matches

There really isn't any point in discussing a ground move whilst Everton attracts the ignorant supporters who chanted racial abuse during the Preston game. Likewise, their behaviour outside the ground was disgusting. Are these people so lacking in self-awareness that they feel that their conduct is invisible. Can I remind them that last season at Everton there was a clear anti-racist stance taken by Yobo, Lescott and Howard concerning the alleged racism of Emre. Can I suggest that the racists in the crowd follow Newcastle as it is hypocritical to support the values of the aforementioned Everton players. It is clearly obvious that the players have no respect for these mindless individuals with their outdated views. Maybe they should watch 'Life on Mars' rather than attend matches. The fan-sites have to make a stand-the club cannot work in isolation. Martin Campion. (27/07/07)

Should The Board splash the cash for Moyes?

There are a number of disparate views being quoted at the moment about how much cash is being or not being spent. Let’s get back to reality. Firstly, Davey is right, some of the prices being quoted this year are stupid to say the least. Kieran Richardson, Nugent and Koumas each worth over £5m, your having a laugh, not one of them have set the Premiership alight. Think back, less than two years ago we got Cahill and Arteta for that amount of money combined, now I am not living in the past, but who really knew them when Davey signed the pair and now ‘no club has got enough money to buy them from us’. Who really knew about Joleon Lescott, he was deemed a gamble, some gamble.

My Dad told me about sitting next to a Wolves supporter at last years Open at Hoylake who raved about Lescott saying we had bought a Gem and so it has turned out. Well going on from that I sit next to a Blades supporter at work who was almost in tears when we bought Jagielka, his words not mine. ‘If Koumas is worth £5m then Phil is worth over £10m’. By the way we have actually signed two players in this window, Lukas Jutkiewicz only signed an agreement to join us once the window opened and if I am not mistaken it didn’t take him very long to open his account for the club. Davey has chosen wisely with a limited budget that hasn’t broken the bank, and with a couple of exceptions has always brought in quality. So please stop whinging about what players we have or haven’t bought. If he doesn’t think Nugent is worth that sort of money then I will go along with him. I personally tend to agree with him and didn’t want Nugent when he was first mentioned 1 in 3 record in the Championship and a series of non-existent performances in the Under 21 Championship, we have better home grown talent in James Vaughan and Big Vic.

Davey is out now looking for a quality stop gap for defence as we will probably lose Joseph Yobo for a significant amount of time this season due to the African Nations Cup. Not as some doom-mongers are saying that we are about to sell someone. We also need a genuine left back, apart from Nuno Valente we haven’t got one and with his injury problems last season we need cover, hence Davey saying one more big signing, I would predict the likes of Leighton Baines coming in. He also suggested that he would be bringing in some players on Free or Loan deals and the man has kept his word and we are seeing two potentially superb signings for effectively NO outlay apart from wages. Pienaar was narrowly pipped to the Young Player of the Year award in Holland, in 2003 by the new Real Madrid player Arjen Robben, and Vogel has played 90 times for his country and is the skipper, okay he maybe 30 but he is proven at the highest level and didn’t cost a totally ridiculous £8.5m that Reo Coker was sold for. So shut up and let Davey do what he does best. Regards. The Caveman. Paul Cave – exiled in Hampshire. (27/07/07)

Manager Madness

Logging on to bluekipper, Everton fc. these same words from Moyes keeps on popping up. He has targets players Richardson, Smithy, JK he likes and wants, but then he's moaning that their prices are stupid and that he is not prepared to pay these fees. OK he has a point. BUT playing in Europe money here, finishing in postion in league money here, tv money here, still owed of money on jack ass rooney to come. We have a small squad and Everton don't need squad numbers but team players. £6 million is no fee for a player in top flight. Toon, Black cats, Pompey, Hammers, Villa are spending. What's he afraid of for christ sake? If he is worried about flops, get loan players in. At least he can boot them out if they are pants. I hope he proves me wrong and we have a good start or it could be a long season. Rossoneri. (27/07/07)
