Yes To Move

Right chaps. Lets look at it pragmatically. The ground we have graced for years is sentimental, as we all know sentiment can not be replaced .We have all lost a loved .one...true. the old girl is no different . Liverpool CC come begging at the 9th hour and plead innocence again. Warren Bradley openly admits he will not let a piece of land go for the sake of the tax payer at 50 million. Everton have looked at 2 of the previous sites , LCC HAVE APPROACHED BESTWAY AS A SMOKE SCREEN TO TRY AND SALVAGE THE SITUATION. Goodison could be redeveloped but lets be honest. It will always be lagging behind.

So look back and thank Mr Johnson & Co for putting the club in this position due to massive over borrowing and misrepresentation. Look at the 20 million we spent and how much we recouped. And then there was the borrowed money blue Bill had to pay back. So If you want an Everton that is like Forest,Leeds, Notts County vote to stay. Or be visionary and realise Liverpool is bigger than L4. We would be the biggest business to leave this city ,,,yes business. Let Liverpool City Council look at their own C.V then. It would not look good. But another council embrace us. Championship or Prem. That's the vote. James

Use Your Vote

Everyone who uses this brilliant site, should look at the MBE interview with Bully and read it with an open mind. Do not be influenced by anyone, but make your own mind up. Look at the pros and cons of the proposed new stadium, the pros and cons of staying at Goodison and then the pros and cons of sourcing a new site in the city. If you don’t understand something post an e mail to the site (I am sure one of the team will get you an honest answer).

This is the MOST important decision our supporters will ever make, it is actually a watershed in our great history. The outcome Will determine the future of the club. Please, all of you who have a vote, do the right thing for the club and our future. You must understand how crucial this is, so make a logical decision, taking into consideration ONLY the facts when you cast your vote.

What Everton Football Club have done is unprecedented and most likely will never be repeated. The Club has put its trust in our supporters to decide the future of the Peoples Club. Do the right thing for the future of the club and the generations of future Evertonians. Power to The Peoples Club. Steve Entwistle. (03/08/07)

We Have To Move

Stagnate at Goodison stagnate on the pitch. Sorry but we have no choice we have to move or we will be playing F C Wimbledon. Barry Moyes (03/08/07)

New Ground But In The City

Regarding the proposed ground move I have been undecided for some time but after weighing up all the options, I do agree that Goodison is now past it’s sell by date and moving to a new stadium is the sensible choice, but I have serious reservations about moving to Kirkby. I know that the people from Kirkby are probably more scouse than other areas of Liverpool, but it is a FACT that it is outside the city boundary. It may only be a mile or so but it might as well be 10 miles, it is still outside this city. People consider Widnes, St.Helens and Runcorn as small towns on the outskirts of Liverpool and whether we like it or not, the same applies to Kirkby. People also try and compare us with Manchester as a city with 2 teams, but to be fair Man City have spiraled into the depths of lower leagues in recent years so this rules them out of any serious debate or comparison to ourselves. The only city in the UK we can be compared with in terms of football rivalry is Glasgow. Can you see any of these teams moving outside their city boundary, even if it did seem to make good business sense? I don’t think so. Could you see Rangers or Celtic hand over the football rights of their city to their fiercest rivals? No! So why should we.

A ground move for Everton has been on the agenda for years now. I know that in the past we have enquired about the possibility of building a new stadium on Stanley Park, only for Liverpool City Council to reject this proposal, yet several years later LFC apply for a similar project which is approved (surprise, surprise). I bet if LFC were in a similar situation to us then the city boundary would be changed to include Kirkby! But as it stands this is not the case and it is there in black and white, outside the city. Then there was the plan for the Kings Dock development. I was a huge fan of this idea as this would have been a massive statement to who we are with an Everton FC stadium part of the Liverpool skyline. Sadly this never came about. We pride ourselves as being the peoples club with the majority of our fans coming from this city. We were the first club in this city. Just look at the clubs crest with the Everton tower, where is it? Right in the heart of our city. Are we just going to roll over and hand over our city to LFC? Do we want to be remembered as the other ream that USED to be in this city? A move to Kirkby is a short-term fix, which will be detrimental to the future of EFC. We must think very carefully about this because if this move goes ahead there WILL BE ONLY ONE TEAM IN THIS CITY, regardless of how small the margin is. As Evertonians we must prevent this move from ruining our club. Don’t be fooled by images of a shiny new TESCO STADIUM. Tesco have targeted this area for the potential to make profit from a retail development, not loyalty to Everton FC with the promise of a stadium on the cheap. Do you think if the Kirkby Stadium plans don’t go ahead Tesco will just scrap the idea of some sort of retail development in this area? I don’t think so. If Tesco had not been in discussions with our board, somewhat quite advanced discussions, we would have to look at alternatives, yet we are told that at this stage there are no other options. This is more likely to be that there is no other cheap option; the cheapest option doesn’t mean it is the best option. We need to stay in this city where we were founded and where we belong. If LFC can build on Stanley Park then why can’t we build on Walton Hall Park? Or is Liverpool City Council going to be blatantly biased and set double standards? This Park could be the ideal location, with good road links to motorways and the ring road, and it is in our city. Why can’t Tesco even consider a similar venture on this site? If not then there has to be alternative locations across the city, even if it would be more expensive. In the long term it will keep a strong fan base, and not force future generations to sway towards supporting a team in their city. We must prevent this move to keep this clubs history and tradition intact, or we might as well just scrap the club badge and re-design another one, or why not even change the name, how about KIRKBY TOWN FC!
T, Season Ticket Holder, Aigburth. (03/08/07)

Ground Debate

I have been a season ticket holder for thirty two years I bought my son and myself one when he was only six he is now 38 we still attend away games on a regular basis and never miss a home game. He now lives in Kent and makes the journey for every game. I for one will be handing in my season Ticket if the ground moves to kirkby. I think the council and the club board of directors are making our beloved club a laughing stock, without a thought of the fans who incidentally keep them in their fine jobs and pay their fine wages. Don't forget MR.Bradley the people of liverpool can dispose of you and your council just as easy as you are helping to dispose of us. A TRUE BLUE. Spuderella. (03/08/07)

No To Kirkby

I have been going to Goodison to watch the mighty blues for over 15 years now and have a season ticket in the Park End. I have read all the emails on the debate of Kirby. My answer is a definite NO. If we are honest we will not fill a 50,000 seater stadium, Big Keith is on about attracting new families to football who have moved to the new housing estate ‘corridors’ within 45 mins of the site. Does he know how expensive it is to take a family the match? We have time on our side and are in no rush to move anywhere. Everton are a club built on Tradition,Loyalty,Passion,Pride etc, we would loose most of these values with a move. The Goodison atmosphere must be worth around 6 points a season to us, that would be gone. Its got to be NO. Dan. (03/08/07)

Bradley's Conduct - Yes To Kirkby

Councillor Bradley's conduct has not been fitting as the civic leader of Liverpool. Cow shed stadium in a small town outside Liverpool, The Board should get other Investors in i.e. sell up. Would it be a Cow shed if that imaginary line was slightly redrawn by a few hundred yards and the stadium was in Liverpool? Noooo. Would it be a small town then? Noooo. Has Bradley ever told other Private sector businesses in Liverpool how they should be run? Nooo. Did LCC deal with Everton for over a year on the Ground move and deliver nothing? Yesss. Did LCC see the writing on the wall and not put a strategy in place to assist us in identifying a site, i.e. Everton training ground to Halewood and Liverpool's to Kirkby. Yesss. Are these sites now identified by LCC the last throws of a desperate Politician trying to save face. Yesss. Bradley do one!!! Kirkby yes, its a no brainer and our last chance to move, its that important. VOTE YES TO KIRKBY. Mike Gee. (03/08/07)

Ground Move!!!

After trolling through, all the objectional we don't want to move to kirkby scenarios,we are after all the voice of the club, the longer this saga drags on, the move to kirby[ deal or no deal ] is looking like a very cheap way out. I am not interested in what the ground looks like. I am more concerned like (90odd%) of us staying in the city. No dis to kirkby. (Only the best will do) a motto we have stood by for (130 yrs) lets no be pushed (railroaded) ever looked through a kaleidoscope for the first time, brilliant at first, but there's always something better to take its place, its a huge decision, the future of the club, now basically rests, on the shoulders of all EVERTONIANS, NOT JUST THE CHOSEN ONES TO VOTE, I'M AN EVERTONIAN (a very concerned one). I can only voice my opinion, hindsight is a vision we all have, now and for the future generations of are famous old club, when we finally play are last game at Goodison, let all of us look forward with out regret, to carry on the fine traditions of EVERTON FOOTBALL CLUB. PROUD TO BE A BLUE for over 40yrs. Ed Richmond. (03/08/07)

Blue move....ment!!!

I think a well organised demonstration at the ground will help. I'd rather watch Everton in Stanley Park with a rope round the pitch.Plus it will cost me a few bob changing my tats. Ha!! David Barlow. (03/08/07)

Look Forward

I love Goodison even driving passed i get goose bumps but, we all need to look at this new stadium as a move forward. As for the idiots who say we should not move out the city i put this point to you. How many of the superstar footballers live in the city? The beatles do any of them live in the city. But you all say they are liverpool gods. Look forward and don't hold the blues back. cjk. (03/08/07)

All Things Blue

We cant rebuild Goodison (don't know why, but we cant!!), and we can get a new stadium built for us by a member of the board and his company (surly a great thing?) The city council have pissed us around time and time again and all this after all that the club do for the local community . This is appalling. I can totally agree with everton football club when they say 'fine, f*ck you, you don't need us eh? we will see then'. It is a massive loss to the community and the city council if we leave and heads would surly roll for letting us get away. Knowsley council must be rubbing their hands together hoping that we go. Only now are the council panicking and saying there are sites that we can have. I think however too little too late. The day they signed over the sacred stanley park to them SHITES, was the day they shat all over our pride and history and told everyone in the city just what efc mean to them! I hope we can leave it long enough for the council to get a major bollocking and find us a decent site quick before that pen signs on the dotted line. I want us to make a stand against the appalling treatment we have had from liverpool city council and by leaving this would be a good 'screw you' to them all, but we cant. Everton football club belong in the city and I really hope its where we stay. I think the ballot means nothing as to who can vote and who cant, its one of those things. I think just as many people with season tickets would vote NO as those who haven't and vise versa. We have just got to hope that they vote correctly. I want terry tesco to build us a stadium with a nice big supermarket next to it, with unrestricted views and decent bogs for my boys to use without getting pissed on, with enough executive boxes to pay for players twice a year. I think blue Bill would do his best to make the ground as intimidating and similar to goodison as he could, and try to avoid it being called tesco arena or whatever, I even like the look of the proposed ground, keep it if you like, but PLEASE STAY IN THE CITY! After all, we were here first, na na na na na! Ta, soz if I bored you, COYB, Forever Everton, p.s. thanks kippers. youz the best!! Martin Brown. (03/08/07)

Yes To Kirkby

I'm sure loads of what I've got to say has already been argued around the pubs and clubs and on "The Kipper". We can't bury our heads in the sand here and let this opportunity pass us by...It's sad to leave Goodison, but other clubs have moved on from their traditional homes and have reaped the benefits. Yes Goodison was a great stadium in the 60s and 70s, but other than the Park End we've done sod all to bring it up to date.
In fact many so called smaller clubs have well and truly passed us by on the stadium stakes. The issue of where it is, I think is being blown out of proportion......it's only about 3 miles down the road. It's well located to get on the motorway, and is bound to generate money for the club.
Many of us travel the length and breadth of the country watching the blues.....so Kirkby isn't too far to go is it?? It's the team that you support not the stadium, and you'll watch them til you die wherever they play..despite some of the bullshit i've seen written from some quarters that they won't go to Kirkby to watch them..........if you're really that fickle then don't go.......we won't miss you. Big Ged (Runcorn). (03/08/07)

No Trust

Firstly, i do not trust: 1) Bill Kenwright or Keith Wyness. 2) Liverpool Council or Warren Bradley How can anyone make a decision with all these liars about? Ideally most of us want a new stadium in the heart of liverpool (kings dock?). In other words, move from Goodison but not to kirkby! But before any vote is made I would like to ask this:

1) wyness and kenwright answer me this - a new 150 million stadium eh? well according to wyness tesco will pay 50 mill (plus 25 mill of construction - not actual money!!!) equaling 75mill. Sale of goodison 10 mill max and naming rights 25 mill max. He said then def will play up to 15 mill for a new stadium. I'm no socrates (mathematician not Brazilian) but is that not 125 mill? Already 25 mill out before we start - what a laugh!!!!!

2) Bradley answer me this please - why should efc stay in liverpool when we initially applied for a site, it was turned down, then you allow lfc to build there? Money talks eh! Corrupt fuckers! The truth is we cannot trust anyone, and are only option is to find a russian billionaire with a dodgier past than a thai prime minister. They would still be more trustworthy than the fuckers running everton football club and liverpool fc city council!!! dingle blue. (03/08/07)

Stadium Debate

"A cow shed in a small town outside Liverpool". I couldn't agree more with this statement by Warren Bradley or his points regarding the quality of the stadium, the impact it could have on the future supporter ratio within Liverpool ( although he's havin' a laugh if he reckons it's currently 50:50, more like 90:10 to us. ) and crucially on Bill Kenwright and the other directors unwillingness to talk to investors. I want to make it clear that I like BK I think he has always tried to act in our best interests on everything...except now. The move to Kirkby with the backing of Tesco's is the ONLY way Bill Kenwright and "Bully" get to retain control of the club and continue to rub shoulders and take corporate matchday tea with likes of Abramovich and The Yanks in the billionaires playground that the Premiership has become. It is not Everton Football Club that lacks a plan B - it is Kenwright and Wyness.

Mickey Blue Eyes say's we are "dreaming" or finding it inconvenient to "face reality" if we think we can wait for a big time investor to snap us up. He is very wrong. The reality of the Premiership is that clubs are getting bought up and the people buying them aren't doing so for phillanthropic reasons they are in it to make money and in the Premiership you can make REAL money. This is the undisputable reality that people like MBE who are completely sold on Kirkby like to ignore in their rants. Everton were 18th in the 2006 Deloitte World Football Money League so as Premiership investments go we are surely one of the best. Certainly the best remaining. The supposed lack of investor interest comes from the clear signals from the Everton boardroom that WE ARE NOT FOR SALE, Remove that sign and I'll wager that we will instantly receive plenty of interest.

When this whole argument started I was firmly of the opinion that we had to stay at Goodison Park whatever the cost. I'm not dogmatic. During the course of this debate I have come to accept that redeveloping Goodison Park is sadly not going to happen under any set of circumstances, and we cannot expect to compete and keep up with other clubs whilst trying to patch up Goodison and heartbreaking though it will be, sooner or later we will have to bite the bullet and leave our spiritual home. I don't like letting loose a kind word towards anything to do with the RS but I am forced to admire those Yanks who have taken over across the park, they are putting their money where there mouth is and redeveloping Shite FC and the New Analfield in a manner that moves the club forward while also paying homage to it's traditions, indeed most of the rich investors seem to be entering the Premiership with this mind set, yet this is exactly the opposite of what we are getting in Kirkby whatever the spin machine operated by Wyness and co try to tell you. "It's a traditional four stand stadium...until we fill in the sides".

Voting yes and moving to Kirkby will be a grave error and one we will never be able to go back on in our lifetimes. It's nothing more than a quick fix, a panic buy that ultimately is only in the self serving interests of the current board and will not progress us in the long term. So I can only urge all those with a right to vote to vote NO, we definitely can afford to bide our time and wait for the right option to come along. Our patience will be rewarded in the long run. All good things come to those that wait. Mike. (03/08/07)

Yes To Kirkby

I am from Slovakia I 1st watched my 1st Everton game a few ago at Loftus Road when Fulham beat us 2-1. My close scouse friend Jimmy took me & I feel in love with the Toffeemen. I am really worried though if we do not move to a new stadium soon the red shite will just get richer while we get poorer. I love Goodison all my friends find it really weird how I could support Everton but I just do they are in my heart. It is really difficult but I think we should move to Kirkby it breaks my heart but I can’t see Everton competing if we don’t. Silvia Matejovicova. (03/08/07)

Wyness you know nothing about us blues!

Wyness you keep harping on that attendances will fall if we remain at Goodison, well they will if you idle f##krs do not get your fingers out and give Moyesy the backing he deserves. And do you know what pisses us loyal supporters off more than anything, PROMISES made at the end of the season that once again have been broken. And to rub salt in the wound this is after we had to renew our season tickets three months early. How long Mr Wyness and Kenwright do you think us loyal supporters can put up with this? Gary "the blue" B. (03/08/07)

No To Kirkby

I am from Huyton and have followed Everton home and away for fifteen years. Everton were formed in Liverpool and should stay there. Vote no to Kirkby. Don't listen to Wyness. He has only been around for a couple of years this clubs been goin since 1878. We should say were we will and will not go the fans as for the joke of a chairman we've got he's suddenly gone quiet. He should stick to the stage or have the balls to come out and say why he won't discuss the 3 sites warren bradley has suggested. The new stadium in Kirkby that has been shown in the echo is meant to be based on Cologne's ground if that's true i have been to the ground and its not the best the capacity at kirkby will be 50000. We cant fill Goodison now so we've got no chance if we move there we will lose a third of our support vote no to kirkby. Kevin Connor. (03/08/07)

Get It Right On The Pitch Before The Ground

It's about time we got it right on the field before starting something else. We have been mismanaged for years from the high of the Kendal days we are slipping down the pecking order in the league. Lets start competing again. We need world class players with spurs Newcastle all spending big on quality players its going to be a long one if we don't do the same. Like I said lets get it right on the field then talk about a new ground. Craig. (03/08/07)

Ground Move

I have been going to goodison since 1990 and i still get goose bumps each time Z-cars comes on the speakers WOULD a new stadium do that for me, I Doubt it, Goodison park IS Everton but another problem is the redshites building a 70,000 seater stadium closer to goodison is now than their cowshed is, However a part of me is saying No sod it Move to kirkby cos no matter where Everton are ill be there but this is just me saying that on the basis that Liverpool city council don't give a shit about us and if we move it'll be 2 fingers up to them, There has got to be a better way to solve all this whilst making ourselves profitable and not ending up like Leeds or moving away and turning into another Wimbledon aka MK Dons. Maverick. (03/08/07)

Empty Seats

If we do move from Goodison to a bigger stadium which I really hope we don't and I hope everyone agrees to that, we are not going to get more revenue coming in from supporters each match day than what we are getting at
Goodison simply because we cant even fill Goodison every match day so why are we getting more seats to fill, because then the ground will only look half full like Wigan or some other s**t team.
Steven Bromilow. (03/08/07)

Cahill Says Yes

TIM CAHILL’S excitement over Everton’s move to a new stadium was the key factor in him committing his future to the club. “We are a club driven by ambition,” said Cahill. “And the move to leave Goodison Park and relocate to Kirkby was one of the main reasons I was keen to commit my long-term future to the club during the summer......? Why is he coming out saying this ? will he be sat there in 10 years time on a cold, wet and windy tuesday night, I don't think so, your paid and paid well to do a job so shut it and do your job or piss off to a team with shit fans and a nice stadium. And blue Bill well blue Bill my arse more like bank balance Bill. FUCK TESCO, KEIOC. FOZ, SPEKE. (03/08/07)
