Chelsea Game

Once again we have fallen short when it comes to playing one of the "Big Four". I do realise we have injuries etc., but when will David Moyes realise that to play Carsley and Neville in the midfield does not work! Whenever we play these two together it is a disaster. Neville is a right back, in my opinion, and a reasonably good one despite his never ending critics. Carsley looks like he has just about finished his season as he has played in the majority of the games. We would surely been better served playing Baines on the left side of midfield and Manny in the middle ?
There have been suggestions on another forum that we should sell AJ. In my opinion that is utter rubbish. I feel sorry for the bloke. He is constantly running his blood to water trying to get on the end of ridiculous efforts to pass the ball to him. This is almost always in the air too which is a pointless exercise.

I will not say that David Moyes has taken us as far as he can because I don't believe that to be true. However once again I have to say that the team he put out against Chelsea was never going to win the game. Something tells me that he would have been happy with a point. It is this somewhat negative attitude that is holding him back. I am not suggesting a gung ho attitude but something a touch more adventurous ? We had nothing to lose and everything to gain. As for awarding Jagielka the "Starman" title I can only imagine that whoever wrote the report must have had a few too many! He has been whacking the ball to all parts of the ground for the last few games and needs a rest. The sooner we get Lescott and Yobo back in the middle the better. A slightly dispirited Blue. John.

Small Print

A planning application does not bind anyone to anything. What matters is the directors' stated intention to hang on to their shares come what may, despite the inadequate funding for players they produce. That means there will be no outside investment because investment means buying shares. So the club is prevented from moving on to the next level (and is in danger of slipping back because there are other clubs who do now have/ will get that funding). This selfish and egotistical attitude on the part of the directors is directly against the interests of the club. Geoff Brunton. (20/04/08)

One Last Push For Europe

At the end of the nearly every season we seem to run out of steam. Is this to do with the physical fitness or lack of it or just lack of quality squad players? Think we need to strengthen in Summer, but I think we'll lose a couple of big players due to greedy agents, especially if we lose 5th place and don't qualify for Europe. Come on Everton lets give it one last surge. Dave. Skem. (20/04/08)

Looking to next Season

Sad to say that we have reached our ultimate position this season. However, time to look forward to next season. Moyes and the board should be looking at re-jigging the team slightly. We don't want to keep Manny. He doesn't work hard enough for the team. Harry Hill has to go and so does Hibbert. Past it and not good enough. Neville's legs have gone, time to get rid! Grav is on his way. So that 5 players that should be binned, and Moyes and the board should look at bringing in 7 or 8 players. There are a few in the Championship who could make it. Kightly from Wolves and Loovens, Whittingham, McPhail, and Johnson all from Cardiff are worth looking at, and we may pick some players out from the Euro 2008 tournament.

Aside from these issues, we have put too much trust and faith in Anichebe and Vaughan. I don't think Anichebe is good enough, but if Vaughan stays fit he may be a good prospect. I hope Moyes and Kenwright are realistic enough to know that we have had a good season on the back of 5 or 6 quality players. It is time to reinforce with more quality. Not short-term loans or bargain basement. We need quality and its up to Bully to get the funds to buy quality. If we re-jig and get the right players there is every chance we will challenge the top 4 again. If we don't, then we will be mid-table or lower next season. Mal (Trueblue) but not holdings.

What Happened To Playing Good Football?

So where has our football gone? Why in the last six games has our football gone to shite, why have we become a long ball team, a long ball team that can't play the long ball. What kind of team talks and instructions are being given before we leave the dressing room as they came out last night shitting them selves. And what about the tactical substitutions, no wonder we have only taken 5 points from a possible 18. It was only a few weeks ago we were dreaming of finishing fourth. I am now praying we can hang on to fifth and hoping Pompey win the cup. Maybe I am as frustrated as a lot of other supporters who sit around me in the Park End but the last six game have got us all worried. Where will our next win come from? Brian Day. (20/04/08)

Don't Roll Over

So Moyesy has been told to shut his mouth. The FA in in their infinite wisdom have again turned a blind eye to the pathetic performances of the excuses they call referees. To claim that Davey was 'hinting' that Crappenburg was biased is unbelievable. Davey wasn't hinting at all, he was making a clear-as-day statement that the ref (??) was a useless, cheating ****. Doesn't the FA know that any credibility it thinks it has, is chipped away by every pathetic utterance it makes? I've stated in previous posts that the Club shouldn't just take this rubbish on the chin. Why can't the FA itself be challenged by a body with the cash to do so? Who polices the FA? I hate the thought of Everton just rolling over and accepting this without so much as a whimper. The longer this is allowed to happen, the stronger the bully gets. Stand up for yourself for Christ's sake!! Eddieparkend COYB. (20/04/08)

Incandescent With Rage

I am sorry to regurgitate what has already been said over and over but I am incandescent with rage at the FA's sheer incompetent attitude to Moyes supposedly 'derogatory' and 'unprofessional' comments at the end of the Cluttenberg derby! I mean really, it does not take a genius to work out what was going on here-and to put the icing on the cake it was caught on camera! To quote bluekipper verbatim 'Moyesy inferred that Cluttenburg was hopeless and in the shite's pockets all match. He sent off two Everton players, denied us a nailed on penalty, and refused to take any action when Dick Kuyt assaulted Phil Neville with a knee high challenge' (and this is leaving out Stevie G's influence- 'no ref its not a yellow its a red' 'oh ok then'! Well erm....yes. So how can the Kopite loving FA not see what is in front for all to see? It is a sad state of affairs when a manager has been publicly reprimanded for pointing out the blindingly fucking obvious and Cluttenberg has got off scott free. Do they have shit in their eyes or are they all Redshite season ticket holders like we all suspected? When will the referees be made to take responsibility for their incompetence? How much more do us long suffering dejected Evertonians have to put up with before the wrongs are righted? It is a myth that everything 'evens out' over the season- what a load of bollocks. Just take a look at the right result (www.rightresult.net) we should be 4th (5points AHEAD of the redshite!). I am 30 this year and keep asking myself- do I really have another 30 years of this to comprehend? COYB FTRS! Cathbluenose. (20/04/08)

The 'Clattenberg' Derby

FA Spokesperson regarding Moyseys comments after the 'Clattenberg' derby, "the comments would reasonably be interpreted as calling into question the referee's integrity and implying that he was motivated by bias." I think that was (and still is), the point. Simply put we feel his refereeing wasn't impartial and CLEARLY showed bias toward the opposition in just about EVERY major decision.

...what is all this 'evidence and submissions' they so called reviewed (it can only be the full match, key incidents and the referee's match report), unless you are blind, incompetent or biased towards the shite, what other conclusions can be drawn other than David Moyes' comments are anything other than the TRUTH? Something the FA and hearings like this are there to establish, or in our case skirt around and close ranks, just like the penalty video we sent them they put it right by removing the doubt, now there are no questionable penalty decisions, just NO penalty decisions. Blue Bill Cannie. COYB. FTRS. FTFA. (20/04/08)

Rearranged Everton v Chelsea fixture - JUNIOR COMPENSATION?

Just thought I’d send you this email I’ve just sent to our Club.

Dear Our Beloved Everton Football Club,

We are season ticket holders in the Family enclosure (see above client references), as your records will show my daughter Libby is 4 years old.

This does put us in a situation that Libby will not be able to attend the match and get to see the Blues play at Goodison against one of the “big SKY four” as it’s a school night and obviously she will be tucked up in bed asleep come the 8 pm kick off time.

Firstly can I point out that I can appreciate that this fixture move has been imposed on the club as a compulsory measure by SKY, however I do feel that Libby deserves some kind of compensation (not a just a financial rebate!) for missing out on this crucial big and potentially very entertaining game. She will be left only to dream of seeing her favourite player The Yak score his 20th, 21st & 22nd goals of the season and push the Blues one step closer to securing 5th spot and a UEFA Cup place next season.

I read that Chelsea are to pay for their fans to travel to the rearranged game from the extra money that they will be receiving from SKY (est. £300K+), OK they can afford to do this goodwill gesture and it’s also an excellent way of maximising their fans attendance at Goodison as they chase United for the title, but still a nice gesture that I am sure Chelsea fans will appreciate.

It’s season ticket renewal time and I am sure Libby isn’t the only Junior Blue in this situation. Surely “The Peoples Club” can put their hands up and do the right thing and award something to compensate a junior who lives and breathes Everton Football Club.

With the imminent move to Kirkby and the potential loss of future Blues to what will be the only team left in the City, the Club should be bending over backwards to win over and retain the younger and future disciples of this great football club.

Looking forward to your very speedy response. Regards. Stuart & Libby.

I don’t expect a response (as usual!!). Cheers. Stuart. (15/04/08)

Transfer Dealings

Recently read the Mark O'Brien article in The Post. In general this sort of player support astounds me. Like with the Rooney and Gravesen saga, the agents are drumming up this sort of shite on behalf of the player, they are the players employees, they wouldn't do anything there employer didn't want them too. If Arteta wants to leave then let him! We may then get a wide player who is consistently good at beating his man and delivering a decent ball, never mind be a danger at a set piece! While we are at it, why not allow Cahill to go also? Injury prone and his insistence that he plays for Australia makes me want to puke. I live in Australia, and with the exception of the world cup finals, this country hasn't a clue when it comes to football. Reality check! Who is paying your wages! Never mind the fact that he is non existent in a four man midfield, therefore preventing the partnership between Johnson and Yakubu to flourish as Moyes insists on accommodating him.

With regards to Kenwright, please find the cash for Moyes to genuinely improve our midfield. If he is allowed to do this next season, I honestly believe we can break into the top four, but we need two top class midfielders. Fantastic site, first web site I read when searching for anything on the blues. Many Thanks. Oz Blue. (15/04/08)

Ask Collina

SKY SPORTS HAVE A QUESTION & ANSWER SESSION WITH COLLINA. I THINK YOU SHOULD GET ALL EVERTONIANS TO ASK THE SAME QUESTION. WHY DID YOU REALLY DISALLOW DUNCAN FERGUSON'S HEADER V VILLAREAL?
If loads of people do it then we might get a real answer rather than him saying "Marcus Bent pushed someone". George Farr, Chelmsford. (15/04/08)

Everton Flags

Can you tell me where I can get really big Everton flags or banners. I have looked on ebay but they only sell flags 5x3. Hope you can help. Andy Fry. (15/04/08)
There are lots of places if you 'Google' 'flags'. Blue Kipper has used Barmy Flags were you can get a flag at any size and the quality is top notch.

Everton Garter

I was looking at the pictures of the Everton Garters and was wondering where I could get one from as my brother's getting married at the weekend and needs one for his fiancee desperately and don't know where to find one anywhere could you help? Thanks. Sian Taylor. (15/04/08)

Manny Fernandes

About your comment that you would be surprised if Manny has a future at Everton, I totally disagree. He is a tremendous player and has to be given the chance to come back from all his injuries and lack of match practice. It would be a crying shame if the club allowed him to slip through their fingers at the end of the season. Geoff Brunton. (15/04/08)

UEFA Spot

Great site, just on the topic of Uefa qualification. It seems that Everton can also qualify under the Fairplay wildcard regardless of league standing and the poxy intertoto. It goes to the Fairest league (EPL is top of the charts). And then the 'Fairest' team. Toffees are about fifth in the standings but all teams ahead of them look as if they have already qualified for Europe. Check it out on the BBc league standings page. there's a link to who can still qualify for Europe at the top of the page, and put the rest of our blue brothers at ease. Neillo. (15/04/08)

Passport Holder

My nice new shiny and most importantly BLUE passport holders have just arrived. Thank you. (they only took about a week to arrive). I ordered 2, one for me and one for my son, he's only just turned 8 but already hates all things red. (He won't even wear a red England shirt, unlike most of his mates who would wear anything new and to do with football) They'll really look the mutts nuts at the departure lounge, arrivals desk, hotel, bureau de change, etc. on our holidays to Greece this year. An elegant statement of class for the Blue abroad. Keep up the excellent work, NSNO. Andy, Prenton. (15/04/08)

Arteta

So Mikky's agent has touted him around europe again...I think it's time we turned around and told him where to go - because as good as he
is, on his performances this season - no top club in the UK would want him - I doubt he'd make the bench for many of the big four on the strength of his performance and has wildly under-achieved - particularly when you consider the way in which Osman and Pienaar have improved all season. If he wants to go back to Spain - then let's cash in on him and take a risk on Bentley with the money - spanish sides will pay silly money for players still - and it gives us the opportunity to move on - I know the Art has been great for us over the last couple of seasons - but you don't need an agent touting his player around every season - especially when you consider that morale must be low at the moment anyway, so let him go to a "big club" and let's see if he can force his way into the Spain squad warming the bench somewhere. Patrick. (08/04/08)

Transfer Target Missed

Whilst I was watching the Leverkusen - Zenit fixture I was contemplating have we not acted quick enough to sign a fantastic young Russian who's undoubted quality has been clear to see for the last 12 months? He shone against us at Goodison some months back when Timmy was fortunate enough to score a goal with a 1-0 scoreline to the blues which by the way was a fantastic achievement in Europe this year lets not forget it. Also when England went to Russia on that fateful night in the last group game he was the orchestrator who tore us to shreds even when we had a 5 man midfield!!!!!! Now half of Europe will be aware of this precocious talent that will no doubt carry Zenit some where close to winning the UEFA this year. Make no mistake this boy is special. He has pace, composure, delivery, skill, passing & a touch you would not believe around the 18 yard box. The 1st goal against Leverkusen was incredible. He started 15-20 yards into his own half skipped challenges with great skill & turn of pace & the finish into the roof of the net was sublime. It's a real shame Moyesy did not act a little quicker after all the rumours flying about because after Euro 2008 this boy will be worth millions & millions. He is only 22 & this boy has a massive future & no doubt will end up at a top top European club!!!!! Never mind David we could always pay over the odds for David Bentley ??? COYB - Forever Blue. SY. AJ Makes Our Day

Just thought I'd drop a line to say well done to AJ. Driving up on Sunday from snowy Gloucester, we came to M62, a big flash Bentley pulls up alongside, There's AJ, acknowledge him being there to see him disappear into the distance. Thanks to the road works passed him, all along Queens drive he is waving to the grandkids, lights at Weatherspoons, pulls alongside me, winds the window down and has a discussion about playing against Derby and talks to the kids - great- Left all of us happy. Nice bloke!!! Mark Burton. (08/04/08)

Moyes Is Top Dollar

Martin Hughes Is talking rubbish when talking about Moyes. The fact you have mentioned you have renewed your season ticket makes me think your not even a season ticket holder in the first place. We are a much better side than 5-6 years ago when Moyes first took over so crawl back under your armchair and leave going the match to those that know what where talking about. John E. (08/04/08)

UEFA Cup - What If?

So if we finish 6th behind Pompey , yet they win the FA Cup, does that still put us in the UEFA Cup?????? Martin Hughes. (08/04/08)
Blue Kipper Thinks: If Portsmouth win the FA Cup and finish fifth in the Premier League, the sixth-placed team in the league would enter the Uefa Cup, not the FA Cup runners-up.
